Eds, is there any truth in this Mangala link?

DCD

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of interest from Spurs but tehre is from elsewhere.}

1.) 27 Aug 2016 05:18:36
Looking at the price Madrid want for James, is it possible that the domino effect never takes place Ed? Also if Spurs are looking for an alternative to Nkoudou and he's already training with Spurs (apparently) then they really must want another wide attacker!
I really wanted someone like Tielmans to join us. Looks to be a real prospect! But in search for an attacking player just as you said, we bid for Zaha! Crazy.

{Ed001's Note - it is very possible mate. It has not happened yet, when there has been months to sort out deals. It could easily end up just going nowhere this window. We could all be sat there in a week wondering what went wrong.}

2.) 28 Aug 2016 03:41:36
Hope it happens! Spurs looked like they were missing that something special yesterday. Heard a lot of rumblings that eriksen wants to move on. Any truth in that Eds?

{Ed001's Note - I am not aware of any chance of Eriksen moving this summer mate. Spurs just lack pace in attack and looked, to me, like they were still not match sharp. In the old days it used to be expected that teams took four or five weeks to build their sharpness. I don't know why we suddenly now expect teams to come out firing from the first week.}

3.) 28 Aug 2016 06:29:07
Thanks a ton Ed! By product of the super competitive nature of the competition I guess!

{Ed001's Note - I think it is more down to the modern era, people no longer have patience and want to work for anything. They expect everything now.}

4.) 28 Aug 2016 07:10:17
Guess you're right! But we can't change that now, can we?

So are Spurs back in for Damiao this summer?

DCD

Expect Spurs to hi-jack West Ham's approach for Zaza as Poch looks for alternatives to Saido. Ade will move to West Ham instead.

One of the first signings that Spurs will announce this summer is the £13m capture of Simone Zaza after Juventus decided against the purchase

Reports saying we're in a 3 way pull with Manchester United and Everton to sign Alex Song on a season long loan.
I'd welcome this addition but feel we would need to ship out a couple midfileders to make room. Ideally Holtby and Capoue will make way.

DCD

1.) In what way would it be ideal to ship Capoue out? Hasn't really had that much of a chance and when he has played I thought he had played ok, give him a chance to get back to full fitness and settle into the EPL. He can also fill in at CB if needed, can't see Paulinho, Holtby, Bentaleb etc doing that.

2.) I don't disagree with shipping Capoue out I think he is a bit over rated, ball distribution is pretty horrendous. He does move back to CB but as you can see against WH he really struggles.

I wouldn't be happy about getting Song on loan though. The team needs some stability and chopping and changing each season will get is nowhere, if he was on loan that would leave us high and dry next season.

I'd love it if we bought him though

3.) Have you even looked at Capoue distribution stats while in France? One of his best attributes

4.) 20 Aug 2014 17:55:24
Do you really think Alex Song will improve the team, and a Gooner on loan would be worrying.

5.) LOL and to think normally we get all excited about the possibility of signing someone from Barca.

Can someone please update me on when we're signing Damiao.?

I've had his name on the back of my shirt for 3 seasons now based on a 100% guarantee I read on here from an Oracle!

Surely this transfer must be any day now?

DCD

1.) 19 Jul 2016 17:48:40
Perhaps get Oracle on the back of your shirt then he'll sign.

2.) 20 Jul 2016 12:00:26
The Damiao deal is 99% done. There is just some paperwork to complete and he will be ready to join us for the start of the 2013/ 2014 season.

What's everyone's view on us making an approach for Balotelli?

Yes, he hasn't performed for a while but we all know that he's got it in him and no disrespect to the other players at Spurs but should Balotelli join us then he would feel important and the main man at the club which is what he needs to produce the goods.

He's young enough (24) to fit in with the clubs approach, familiar with the PL and should he flop then given his age and that people know what he can do would still have sell on value.

I also think that having a big name player (yes we do have some biggish names currently) at the lane would bring the best out of the rest of the squad.

Any thoughts.?

DCD

1.) 31 Jul 2015 11:32:05
Trouble maker. I personally think stay away from that one.

2.) 31 Jul 2015 12:17:57
Trouble makers that get 20 goals a season might be worth it. Trouble makers that get 1 are to be avoided I think.

3.) 31 Jul 2015 19:47:05
i think he is worth a chance if you get his head right he will bang you in 20 plus goals a season. he is young strong and quick if harry redknapp was still in charge of spurs he would have signed him straightaway and would have got the best out of him. look at the bad boys at other clubs cantona, di canio etc those type of players win you lots of games he is available at 7 mill that could be the bargain of the season

4.) 31 Jul 2015 19:47:41
The challenge is he is a trouble maker with the potential to deliver 20 goals a season but the reality of only 1.

5.) 31 Jul 2015 20:55:02
eams aren't lining up to sign him are they? We have got rid of one overpaid trouble maker , we don't need another!

6.) 31 Jul 2015 22:24:34
Raver,

Balotelli is crap.

Spuds are crap.

Perfect fit. sign him up mate.

7.) 04 Aug 2015 22:27:38
see if u can beat us this season

Now that Torres is available on a free in January do you know if Spurs are likely to make a move?
I know he has flopped the last few years but I still think he would be a good addition providing we can meet his wage demands.

DCD

1.) DCD - To be honest we already have one like him at the minute mate Soldado - We can't have 2 Forwards waiting to perform, although I'm still optimistic Robbie will come good if we can play to his strenghts - Whipp the ball in early is the answer.

2.) 12 Dec 2014 19:52:46
Soldado has it but i'm losing my patience with him now, he has had quite a few chances at goal recently and has missed all but one but he has looked a lot sharper in the last few weeks.

3.) I don't think dropping him for the Chelsea game was a good idea . He scored, then was left out . implication being you're not good enough for the big games? Just my 2c.

4.) Agree with you yellow card . Confidence up, oh let's drop him!

In order to push forward this season and ensure we finish in the top 4 I believe we need to sign 3 players before the January window shuts.

A new left back - We are weak in this area and even our first choice (Rose) is a bottom half the table player.

A new right back - Walker has had this position to himself for quite a while now and IMO he just doesn't cut it anymore. He had a great season a few years ago but since has taken two steps backwards. He is not fulfilling his potential and has had enough chances to do so and more and more so is proving to be a liability.

A striker - We have needed a decent striker for years and thought we had it when Soldado signed but he has been poor and isn't going to find form any time soon. Ade has been doing well but give it a couple more weeks and he will have lost interest again and by that time Defoe will be on his way so therefore where are the goals going to come from?

There is no point in Spurs waiting until the summer to sign more players as if they don't get them in now then we will surely miss out on CL football AGAIN!

DCD

1.) My point of view is that nobody will come in this window. Not because we don't need them but that we will have a new manager in the summer that will be given funds. My view is either prandelli or van gaal will be coming after the World Cup (probably van gaal)
We may do a 6 month loan, maybe a lescott or a Ba etc but that might be all. As I said, only my opinion.

2.) I'm not expecting to see Sherwood backed with money to address the issues we have.

I'm further expecting us not to make Top 4 and have to watch as the top clubs of Europe pick off our top players during the summer transfer window.

Sadly I think we will struggle to keep Lloris, Sandro and Verts in the summer.

3.) Apart from the fact that Sherwood has an 18 month contract! I hope that Baldini doesn't leave because if he does, all our signings will be rejects from other PL teams

4.) Give me Sherwood over Van Gaal anyday.

It would be a strange one considering he's on loan at Sao Paulo from Corinthians but you never know.

I agree that Destro would be a better option but apparently that's gone quiet and now Baldini is leaving Italy.

I assure you he was being lined up by Spurs but higher wages has turned his head. I think he would have done a great job for us for the next one and a half seasons and would have filled the void once Defoe has left.

Rumours are also strong that Coentrao will be in addition of £80m for Bale.

That would make the probable first XI for Spurs: Lloris, Walker, Vertonghen, Kaboul, Coentrao, Sandro, Paulinho, Dembele, Willian, Lamela, Soldado.

COYS {Ed008's Note - Title challenging team!

Willian is not a replacement for Bale, he will be deployed on the right wing in place of Lennon. Lennon will then be cover as AVB has lost patience with Lennon's shooting ability.

I totally agree. I am so fed up of being a Spurs fan. It's like a bad relationship where you give so much because you love them and then time and time again they just screw you over and let you down. Being a Spurs fan is a one sided relationship!

P.s. apparently the Ade to West Ham deal has hit another snag as the player wants Saturday's off in his contract!
