What’s going on raver/ Ellis/ NES? Where’s that cheque book. We need a creative player.

I don't see anyone coming in Dr, I think poch is happy with the squad and is using son as the creative player for Harry Kane, I think we need a top winger and another striker and I think Callum Wilson from Bournemouth would be ideal at spurs and lanzini from west ham.

not happening DR. Vic and Toby back will help, trouble is if Kane gets an injury. I've been crying out for aother creative player for 3 seasons.

Would love to see moura, sess, arp and dembelle come to us acording to reports for a combined fee of say 100 million sell rose 45, sissoko 20, and llorente for 7 million outlay of about 30 million would make our squad a lot stronger for the rest of the season while all players still very young which suits our policy of buying young.

Aubameyang is available for around 50 odd million and is in talks with Europa league Arsenal, surely if spurs enter the race we are a much attractive club to join.

Ed002 what's your opinion on how ENIC run Spurs and do you think they will look to sell the club when the stadiums built or are they here for the long term?

{Ed002's Note - Generally they have been very good in controlling and growing the club whilst avoiding large debt and keeping spending in hand. The situation is now changing with a need for the club to look again at the wage structure and the likelihood of perhaps losing Kane in the not too distant future. The move to the new stadium should work out fine and the finances are in place. In the longer term, Spurs is good for ENIC and Tavistock but if the value of English sides continue to grow then they could look to selling. Additionally, if something were to happen to make significant changes at Tavistock, then I could see changes coming.}

Not spurs related but gutted to hear of the passing of Cyril Regis this morning, he was a fantastic centre forward who paved the way for more top black footballers into the game. I still remember him playing spurs in the 87 fa cup final where spurs were huge favourites to win and Coventry turned us over to lift the cup.

Ellis said weeks ago that Arsenal are finished and he looks spot on as usual, they have a bang average squad with an outdated manager. The fans can't complain though as they have had many good years under Wenger.

the majority of gooners 'expect' to be challenging ever year Raver, and hat hasn't happened for a while. we have had a massive resurgence in the last 5 years and the future looks bright, even with all the haters calls that we NEED to win something.

I see a massive rebuild job ahead at the gooners and that will only commence once Wengers gone, which may not be soon, hopefully 🤗.

Can't disagree with you Gents.

I wouldn't say we are finished, but as NES correctly said, Wenger out than a massive rebuild.

Oh, just a reminder, you boys are still a long way off from being the finished product (being above us doesn't make you capable of challenging for top spot. Just means you are above a very avarage/ poor Arsenal team) .

Agree0 2Disagree

14 Jan 2018 21:59:54
An Arsenal team with roughly the same points tally as years gone by. Infact didn't you have one of your highest points tally last season for a while?

Ellis your knowledge is fantastic, If the raver was ever going to go on a tea time quiz like pointless or eggheads I want Ellis by my side as we would be in the pub a hour later with the trophy and cash in our hands getting smashed.

Bloody hell Ellis and Raver,

That just proves my point.

You should be happy if you are challenging City, and not just because you are above an avarage Arsenal team.

Read the post properly.

Still lots of points to be earned and lots of games to be won/ lost. Neither of you are top4 right now yet are both capable, be an interesting battle this season many twists and turns.

When was the last time Arsenal challenged? Arsenal spend big on wages but you're nowhere near yo challenging.

You need to read my post properly Dags. Arsenal are on about the same points tally as you have been for 10 odd years. Its just other teams, like spurs, have overtaken you. You've been average for a long time, nothings changed.

The thing is Left peg, you have to take into account we’re playing at Wembley, your right we’re not in the top 4. Personally I think it will go down to the wire this year. You looked very good yesterday, but I said that earlier in the season, then you go and get beat by the lesser teams shall we say. You’ve got goalkeeping issues. Nevertheless I love watching Liverpool.

As for Arsenal they will still be there or thereabouts if you look at the history they are always there. If I’m totally honest I think we will just miss out on top 4 which I said at the start of the season and my view hasn’t changed for us to really make a statement we need to sign a class player this window one more creative player who can score goals and is proven. It just seems we won’t pay the 50m that’s needed to push on.

{Ed001's Note - do you think Wembley has had much of a negative effect in the end? Only your home record is excellent if I remember correctly and it was your away record letting you down wasn't it? I have to be honest, I did think the Wembley factor would be a problem but it seems like the players are loving it and having the extra large backing from the crowd has brought the best out of them at times.}

I see the competition as great but sadly none of us are quite doing it with city too, hopefully next war the title itself will go down to the wire and not just top 4 positions. Goodluck for the rest of the season lads.

It did at the start of the season Ed, when teams park the bus we still struggle West Ham, West Brom, When teams try to play we can open them up, Southampton, Everton, Liverpool etc.
That’s why If I were the director / manager I would look at the results where we haven’t broken teams down, that’s where we miss that little bit of magic which could cost us top 4. Then keeping ahold of players may become an issue

Everyone can say Kane won’t go he’s committed to spurs, I beg to differ. In my honest opinion I think he’ll be gone at the end of next season if he keeps producing the levels he has over the last couple of seasons

We’ve got a few massive games coming up at the end of Jan / Feb, this will shape our season.

{Ed001's Note - Everton parked the bus mate, you didn't struggle against them really, but then they look to have gone backwards in recent weeks for some reason. I just thought you looked like you were struggling initially as you settled in, but now you look at home there, so to speak, and are finding the extra width of the pitch actually suits you. Your big issue has been poor recruitment this summer. I don't see any of Sanchez, Aurier or Llorente as being good enough for your team.}

Agree0 3Disagree

15 Jan 2018 09:13:09
I agree Ed001 with the personnel we have brought in.? I do feel our scouting team needs addressing. Llorente was a strange buy. Aurier as I said before and Glen Hoddle said the exact same thing, he get's into the right positions but the final ball let's him down. Which is total b0ll0cks when you kick a football for a living everyday. They need to work on this with Aurier.
Sanchez may need a little more time.

{Ed001's Note - it does seem there is a problem there, as you suddenly splashed the cash, after years of parsimony, and brought in worse players than you did when you were being careful! Bizarre that was.

I really do not think Sanchez is any good at defending. Good on the ball, but dallies, that can be fixed, however his mindset is terrible. He is so reactive that it has caused you major problems. That was fine in the middle of a 3, as he could be covered by the two Belgians, who are an excellent pairing. It allowed him to be able to get caught out ballwatching and it not be too much of a problem. However in a back four he is constantly out of position and it is causing you real issues. The return of Dembele alongside Dier in midfield was a great help against Everton. Those two protect the defence so well you look a different team altogether.}

What a fantastic weekend with watching fantasy football at Wembley then partying in leafy Essex until morning, I truly refreshed myself this morning with a morning swim in the sea at Canvey island. Some bloke was walking his dog and looked at me in disbelief and shook his head lol. Onto spurs and we are now back and are ready to steamroll everybody and I it wasn't for a few injuries to key players in the early part of the season and getting used to playing at a different stadium we would be winning this league but we will carry the flag for English football by winning the champions league.
