Tottenham offered Brazil striker Damiao after Marseille balk at £17m price tag

any truth in this ed or is it just paper talk agn {Ed002's Note - Sort of. The price being asked is too high for Marseille but the club is looking to see if perhaps something could still be negotiated. with him - but it will be tough for Marseille to complete a deal.}

Eds- any news of interest in Christian Erickson? Really hope we could tie this guy up, along with damiao?

Essex yod! {Ed002's Note - Dortmund, AC Milan, Liverpool, Roma and Spurs remain interested in Eriksen but I would personally not rule out PSG, Arsenal, Manchester City (although he has already rejected Chelsea) or other previously interested clubs regaining interest in him. Back in July 2012 the Milan Press Office were convinced of interest from Manchester United and they let it be known that they expected a bid to be made by for Eriksen by them, although it came to nothing. The player remains adamant that he will stay in Amsterdam until the end of next season before moving to Spain but would likely jump at the chance of a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona if the opportunity arises. However, Ajax will not let him run down his contract so a move beckons this summer. The player will see out the rest of the season at Ajax and see if he can attract attention from Spain, or perhaps Italy, whilst now himself courting Dortmund who are certainly interested, PSG and Manchester City as interest from Spain has not arisen. Whilst all of these clubs continue to watch the player, no one has yet come forward with a firm bid but I would suspect there will be one from Dortmund and PSG - and if Manchester City were to make a bid then they could well be a consideration regardless of the player previously turning them down.}

There's a huge chance Coentrao and Luka Modric
will sign for Spurs.

The Channeller.

(1)
(9)

Modric will never return. what's the point.

(8)
(0)

Now silly season really is here.

(7)
(0)

Remarkably, there's 2 separate posts on the rumour site regarding rugrat and coentrao.
the informed one has saddled these together, added the words "huge chance" and made it look like inside info.
please go back to your harry potter books and give us all a break from your whimsical fantasies

(5)
(1)

Ever considered that the 2 posters might actually be the same person.
Add the channellor to the mix and there is a nice lonely person lol

Napoli have made an approach for AVB apparently. Could he be tempted by champions league football? Don't do it Andre!

Adam

(5)
(9)

More chance of him agreeing to manage the Gooners than Napoli

P-to-the-S

(9)
(4)

Just for a bit of fun

If you could would you swap AVB for cavani?

I know it's totally irrelevant and will never happen but just curious to people's views.

Samba

(4)
(4)

Samba, tempting but having a young, ambitious manager could be better for us in the long run. He has added stability to this squad and with a few 'AvB signings' I have no doubt that this squad can push on next season.

The Channeller.

(2)
(3)

Not going to lie there's a little bit of a temptation too say do it because I honestly think cavani's built for the prem and he's going to be a revelation for any club that convinces him too come here. But this season andre's grown on me so much I think I'd rather have him with full financial backing of the board. With full support I think avb's capable of winning anything, anywhere.

(4)
(1)

23 May 2013 14:13:48
Any truth to the rumour that napoli have approached tottenham about avb becoming manager?

Bucks {Ed008's Note - No idea but his name doesn't end in M so I don't think he's a target for them.

Both soldado and damiao are part of a 36mil sweep by levy? I'd be happy with this, considering soldado bagged 22 this season. Think he would want CL football though.

(4)
(4)

Paper talk mate.
It's silly season, they need to sell papers.
There will be loads of stories like this coming up.

(5)
(2)

Really, we are going to be hearing this bulls**t for the next 3 months

(6)
(2)

What Spurs buy a striker? yeah right

COYI! I hear Carlton Cole is free now. you usually keep taking players from us

(0)

Only the good young ones like Defoe and carrick who want better football and prospects coyi.

Let try and sort out the rumours on NewsNow it seem that every other line has a quote from some club or player on what is going to happen in the transfer window and most contradicts the previous.
1) Bale Hints that he is staying
2) Bale to sign new contact after trip to W Indies
3) Ramos expects Bale to be a R-M player next season
4) Moyes wants Giggs to convince Bale to sign for Manu
5) RM will not pay over 42m for Bale put to offer players in a swap deal only the players want CL
Reading all these shows where the Oracle must get his info.
Now the best of the lot is that Napoli has asked Spurs to let them speak to AVB about their vacant managers position, So who is up for next season as spurs manager.

(4)
(3)

1) Bale is staying
2) Bale will sign new contract so Levy won't have to sell cheap
3) What does Ramos know lol
4) can't moyes ask himself lol. Giggs retiring soon
5) Spurs don't care at this time what money Real Madrid want to pay he's not for sale. If we want money we will contact Monaco haha

(5)
(4)

Oh and napoli can speak to spurs about their vacant role not that we are interested, just like they won't be interested in gifting us cavani on a free transfer haha

(3)
(3)

Also a lot of journalists will put players under the spotlight with surprise questions and then twist it to make it a headline. Imagine this scenario:

Ramos is doing an interview about RM's season. Nothing out of the ordinary when about 10 minutes in the journo says:

J: "So what do you think about Bale? Is he the sort of player you could see at Real?"

SR: "Yeah he's a great player, would definitely fit the style here. "

and the interview continues.

Then the next day the lead story is: Sergio Ramos says Bale would be a perfect fit for Real Madrid. It makes it sound like he has called his own press conference just to tap up Bale, or that he has some inside knowledge of deals when all he did was say a nice thing about another player when put on the spot.

Now I can't say that this definitely happened this time around, but it's the sort of crap journos pull all the time.

Seeing LOTS of reports that the Leandro Damiao deal will be done within the next 2 weeks. As much as I hope this is true i'm a bit worried that if it does happen I am going to have to delete this website from my favourites because The Oracle will be unbearable! LOL

Rich-Essex Yid

(7)
(1)

I wouldn't worry about that mate.
The oracle is a proven bs merchant and I suppose if you throw enough mud, some might stick.
He has said for 5 windows now that damaio is coming

(3)
(1)

Don't worry Rich, even a broken clock is right twice a day

(12)
(1)

Exactly, he has categorically stated on several occasions it is a done deal and that started AFTER there was a first reported interest in him several years ago.
Anyway, he hasn't signed yet and at £20m ish he is more of a gamble than the usual level with any new signing. Given Neymar might end up at £25m ish to Barca then is Damaio really worth £20m?
Simmo

(1)
(1)

According to the express we are aiming to bring in Saldado (spelling?) to play alongside Damioa {Ed008's Note - Soldado and Damiao ;)

Mk1

(3)
(1)

If we were to get Damiao I would rather he comes sooner than later so he can get prepared for season ahead. It could take him time to adapt to premiership

(3)
(0)

There is no way that levy will pay 20 million for Damiao. I assure you it will be much less than that with add-ons rising it to 20 million!

(1)
(1)

As soon as it says, according to a paper, then don't believe it.
Where do you think oracle gets all his info.

Rodrigo of Benfia is on his way to spurs apparently

Jimmy {Ed008's Note -

(2)
(11)

Not going to make that big an impact. We need a world class striker

(8)
(2)

Numilogo Safrani?

Would be no more than 12m

Better Than Ade-dont-score

(0)
(5)

Rodrigo is a great striker. HUGE buy out clause (something like €60m) so I can't see benfica letting their bright young striker go. Although they have just bought 2 young Serbian strikers so maybe they need to offload players. Rodrigo would do well under AVB

Marco Van Ginkel. best mid in eredivise this season and young talent. Anybody seen him? Would he be a good fit here at the lane?

Not claiming there is an approach for him, although with Eriksson seeming less likely this could be an alternative

the players i'd like to see move on are the following:

adi - 10m
bentley 2m
benni -6m
defoe - 6m
hudd - 4m
gomes -2m
sigs - 6m
gallas - free
townsend - 6m
that's 42 mil on funds for new players + if levy puts his hand in his pocket with say 30 mil. That is about 70mil to challenge.

players in (excuse the spellings yea)

L dameio 17m
villa 10m
scott sinclair 5m
dyer from swans - 5m
mitcu 15m
m bia qpr 5m
navas - 15

mr g

(2)
(26)

I thought bentley had already been released on a free

derbyshire dave

(11)
(3)

So we would have 5 CB's and 5 wingers and 3 strikers? Bit much but I would love most of these players. Apart from Sinclair and Dyer.

Jimbo

(4)
(6)

Gomes and Bentley out of contract I thought

(1)
(5)

I'd only take Michu, Damiao and Villa from this list. Others aren't good enough for our ambitions

(4)
(2)

Why sell townsend he will be on par or better than lennon!

(7)
(7)

U seem to have forgot the massive difference in wages your new team members would cost mr g

£10m for Ade! Haha
Be lucky to get £5m and highly unlikely from anybody willing to pay £120k pw {Ed008's Note - Monaco..

(4)
(1)

23 May 2013 01:14:01
Not at all bs they players we have that I would like to be sold are on massive salaries anyway

(0)
(3)

Our squad was very thin this season in numbers (and any quality in depth). Your in list raises the quality of the best 11-13 but actually shrinks our squad by two players which would be ridiculous.
There's no way Dyer and Sinclair are better than Sig (who you're selling for a loss!) and probably not a great deal better than Townsend if given some more game time.
Simmo

(5)
(0)

Hi Ed,
Monaco, great idea, quick ship him off for whatever we can get! haha.
Seriously, Ade is mega-frustrating because against Everton, Stoke, Chelsea and Sunderland he put it in and was a threat again, where was he the rest of the season. His reputation and past would say he was just being lazy but, he did have an injury at the start of the season and I wonder if it lingered. Every chance he made it worse going to ACN and playing on it because we had no other options when Defoe was injured.
Let's hope that's what it was if he stays!
Simmo {Ed008's Note - I think Ed002 mentioned Monaco were interested in Adebayor he was a former player there as well so you could say that's why he's been playing good lately to get a move there which I'm guessing you lot will be happy with.

(3)
(0)

Why sell sig and defoe?

(1)
(0)

Well the difference in wages would be approx 5 million a year by my estimate, 20 million if u account for the length of contracts these players would demand.
im glad you're not our accountant!

Stephen El Shaarawy could be on his way. You heard it here first {Ed008's Note - He ain't going nowhere staying at Milan.

SepticYod

(4)
(16)

What makes you think that Septic? Is it because he won milans best player award? OR is because he signed a new contract recently? Or is it because SES is a boyhood Milan fan? I really want to know what wrong reason you used to justify this ridiculous rumor

What do people think about going in for Callum McMananman? looks a hot prospect for the future and would be a levy price.

(9)
(13)

Not when we have townsend needing games to show what he can do

(13)
(3)

I like McManamam but have for a while and not just after the cup final so think he could be worth a look. Trouble is Whelan is no fool, Wigan may have been relegated but they do not let their prize-assets go cheap (Moses, Valencia, Palacios, Chimbonda - all went for big fees).

ED what's the chances of us signing Higuan? he's set to leave madrid, and so far no one has bidded for him, so why don't we come in and steal him before other people? just what we need upfront {Ed002's Note - He might be offered up as part of a deal for Bale.}

(6)
(9)

They can offer tottenham whatever they like. Bale will remain at spurs

(9)
(6)

Am I right in thinking that we could get refusal on someone like higuain if a club such as arsenal were to have an offer accepted? {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are talking about.}

(4)
(4)

Yes we should get first refusal if they (the scum) put an offer in we get advised and asked if you want to match it.

we have an agreement with them when we sold the rat boy.

same as international brazilian team where sandro was and Damieo
Cheers

Jon

(4)
(4)

Because of the "special relationship", could we get the choice to buy a player at the same price which has been offered and accepted by another team?

(4)
(1)

The 'Special agreement' was Levy's way of trying to come out of the Modric transfer with some dignity left when Madrid stuck it to him!

If there was ANY form of 'agreement' we would have seen something by now!

Yid in the Hood

(4)
(1)

I think he is talking about our partnership deal with Real Madrid following the sale of Modric. The
deal was reported to include:

Commercial tie-ups between the clubs which may include tours, franchises and marketing

Friendlies in pre-season which could be hugely lucrative for Spurs

Options on loaning players and having the first refusal to buy certain players

Coaching tie-ups which may see youngsters go on summer camps and exchanges

Come on ED get a grip!

Higuain is rubbish. {Ed008's Note - No he's a quality player..

(1)

Rubbish, what are you on? Brilliant player, I'll be gutted if the get him.

(4)
(1)

Looks like he's set for juventus nw! Better dem than arsenal.

(4)

21 May 2013 15:06:18
Ed, is lacina traore a possibility? And which leagues do you think we will look at for talent over the summer?

Jay-B-13 {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest in Traore. I don't see Spurs looking to particular leagues.}

(1)
(7)

Okay thanks ed! Personally I see us looking at the german, portugese and dutch league. Avoiding leagues such as the french and itialian. Just my opionon. People may find this daft but that's where i'd look.
Jay-B-13

(3)
(2)

German football seems like quite an inexpensive league bar your dortmunds and bayern. Dutch is rather cheap aswell. And if porto and benefica don't play hard ball this league is rather cheap aswell. Seems like some spurs signings.

Personally I think spurs are an awkward team to fit a player to as we are always pressing around the box so a striker needs to be used to doing this.

Jay-B-13

Ed what's the latest on jovetic? Thanks {Ed002's Note - Try the Arsenal page.}

We should sign him right under the nose of the gooners just like we did with vertonghen

(8)
(3)

Do you think he will go to arsenal?

Ed any chance we could go for aubameyang Looks a class player {Ed002's Note - After a year or so St Etienne Aubameyang has attracted the attention of Fiorentina, Dortmund, Manchester City, Inter, Chelsea, Manchester United, Zenit St Pete, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Spurs and PSG, probably amongst others. He has said in the past the one day his dream would be to return to play with a great Milan side. I understand that if a significant bid is made that St Et will give it due consideration. Such a bid is being pondered by Chelsea, Dortmund and by Fiorentina, and I suspect Manchester City could look again as an alternative to Jovetic. I don't see the interest from Inter resulting in a move.}

(2)
(9)

Just No!

Moutinho just denied he had agreed any deal with Monaco

31 goals in 30 games this season

Septic Yod

AVB's prime targets are:
Benteke, Moutinho, Hulk

Benteke maybe, Moutinho unlikely, Hulk no

Septic Yod

(5)
(14)

I hardly believe this is true seeing as the man himself just came out and said we have to do things the spurs way in the transfer market, therefore look for a bargain.

Hulk, Moutinho and no doubt Benteke will certainly not be a bargain.

That being said, for what we need up front, we are going to have to spend a considerable amount i. e around 20 mill.

Soldado is the man I want along with Luke Shaw, though I doubt the second because of rose' return.

Shadders

Shadders

(3)
(5)

Soldado has said he wants CL football, so that won't happen. I believe we will sign Moutinho and Damiao. Just what I think anyway.

(3)
(9)

Negredo is an obvious choice. If he's still available for sub £12m then we should be going all out for him.
Simmo

(7)
(1)

Negredos agent said he won't be going to anyone without champions league football so we have no chance

(0)

Well not everybody has Champions League football and he said he was interested in England so there are 4 teams who probably don't want him.

(3)

Benteke wants to come to spurs. Could be exactly what we need!!

(3)
(14)

He was exactly what we needed in August then January, now he is going to be over twice the price with a risk of second-season-syndrome. Doesn't smack of Levy really, he likes to buy and sell for double asap, not pay double 12months later to somebody else. Probably fairly cheap wages compared to an established name though.

(5)
(2)

Where has he said he wants to come to spurs?

JPSpur

(7)
(2)

He may want us but definitely do not want him!

(7)
(6)

Benteke is a known gooner tho.

(6)
(3)

Hellishly over-rated player, trust me not what we need.

The Oracle

(5)
(8)

That means nothing in football.
Bergkamp loved spurs/ hoddle but it didn't stop him joining arsenal and turning into a gooner.

You can't afford benteke anyway

(11)

Kevin volland is a proper player. I would love to see him at the lane

Bale isn't going anywhere, he's in ADVANCED talks with Spurs over a 180k plus a 3 million pound bonus for each cup he will win under us in this contract. However if we don't get Champions league next year he will go.

This comes from a Strong source. Count on it.

(22)
(12)

So basically opposite to what the Thrush is saying! and you know what I believe you!

(5)
(4)

I thought it was 130k with a release clause of £50mil starting next summer? Heard this from a newspaper online, probably not correct though

(6)
(4)

Heard a strong rumour that Bale will stay to reach his own personal goal he's set himself which is to get a penalty award at WHL!

(16)
(3)

Don't believe that rumour trust this one.

(1)
(1)

Had a text last night from a friend who knows Tony Parkes, I know its around the houses sort of rumour but he said that Bale signed a 145 grand a week deal on Saturday. All I know is it the opposite to what the Thrush is saying so it is bound to be true.

Ed is there any chance that we will sell huddlestone and Parker would really like to see the back of them and freshen up the midfield {Ed008's Note - I think Parker will leave this summer, maybe Huddlestone if the right offer is made.

(9)
(4)

Huddlestone's ankles are shot to bits, he failed medicals to move last summer. Heard the rumour nearly two years ago he had a degenerative injury problem, so little football in all that time and being even bigger now all make it look likely to be true. Our thin squad meant we had to try and use him and also to have any chance of trying to sell him again he had to play a bit.
Simmo

(7)
(1)

It won't happen but would love to see someone like Lukaku or similar strong powerul forward lead our line. With Bale playing off them and then Lennon/Townsend or new fast winger down each side. Add a central creative midfielder and quality left back and the team will be competing at the top. With Sandro and Kaboul to return and clearout of the dead wood, the squad should have much better shape and look to it. We didn't see the best of Dembele, Walker or Siggurdson last season and hopefully a few of the U21 squad will push for 1st team places.

(22)
(1)

Id love to bring in lukaku but no way chelsea will ever sell him to us unfortunately!

(9)
(0)

19 May 2013 22:02:45
Ed what's your view on the Bale situation this transfer window? {Ed008's Note - Its obvious theirs interest from the bigger clubs like Real Madrid,PSG etc, it's also too early to say what will happen the season ended 4hrs ago and people are saying Bale is leaving? He signed a new contract in the summer and has never said he wanted to leave let's wait till June/July to see I believe he will stay at least for 1 more year.

(10)
(6)

He will not leave this season, but more than likely next. Been made some big promises & he loves working with AVB (thats sooo evident). Trust me, he won't leave this season!

(12)
(6)

"Sensative information" ha ha, the only thing that must be sensative is his brain from making up all these stories! If he does know someone at the Top and that's a very slim chance, boy are they having fun feeding him the wrong info, they probably read this site and can't believe this person still fools for it!

(3)
(0)

Bale is 100% staying. Only possible way he would go is if Levy WANTED to sell him. Very unlikely seeing as he is a major part of AVB 's plans. AVB will have his 1st opportunity now to acquire and go after his own targets.
Thomas Ince and David Villa are realistic targets if AVB was interested in them particualar players. Not finishing 4th will make it harder and some players won't want to sign as we aren't in champs league

(6)
(4)

Immediate response in Spain to Spurs missing out on a Champions league spot is increased speculation that both Real and Barca will chase Bale.

Both clubs willing to countenance a £60 million bid. As an example, the Real bid is £60 million over a 5 year period (mirroring the contract Bale will be offered). This is fairly typical of all continental transfers, so Barcelonas will be similar.

We all know Levy will drive a hard bargain and there is no certainty that Bale will be sold. AVB has replacements in mind, including insisting on part exchanges. Understand that Spurs will not discuss in detail with any prospective buyer until later in the close season.

Get real guys, he won't be here next season. it's all about how much we can get for him and who we can sign. you're deluded if you think Bale will stick around for europa league. let's just hope we can keep AVB and push on. {Ed008's Note - I bet you he stays!

Hes got a daughter called Alba Violet Bale who is less than a year old named after AVB who he gets on amazingly with. So Bale isn't going to be leaving spurs this season as he is happy and settled there. Bale has stated numerous times he is going to play abroad one day, likely it will be Real Madrid. We will get at least another season from bale and maybe Levy will sell then or at a later date. Bale definitely won't be moving to man u, chelsea or anyone else in premiership. that's a fact. Spurs aren't short of money so there isn't really a reason to sell him. Tottenham need to strengthen up in a few areas, particularly upfront. Losing sandro to injury and defoe been missing didn't help us this season

There is no chance that Bale will leave.

Immediate response you say, interesting. My immediate response to your made up rumour is what a lad of B. s! Another pathalogical drama queen has posted on the forum!

The Thrush would have known what the Spanish where thinking before they did themselves, he is that good!

Lots of tantrums and teddies being thrown around. Bale might well leave. He might stay. Suspect some of the tempers fraying are due to today's slight disappointment.
Cant deny that several clubs will be watching the situation now that CL isn't going to happen.
Above fee and the construct of the transfer sounds plausible

Not knowing who the Madrid manager will be next season I doubt Bale would commit there at this point in time. Now if AVB should go to Madrid i'd bet my life saings Bale will go to. If AVB gets the support from ENIC he deserves I expect Bale to stay with the new rumored contract which will reflect a huge shift in our salary structure.

This season showed we are almost there when it comes to competing with the Top 4 teams, if we want to be amongst them and not just behind them then we need to start paying competitive wages, heard Bale is to be offered £170k a week to stay

He did not name his daughter after 'AVB' get a grip!

He named his daughter after AVB? Haha, that is a lunatical thought!

Also, Barca have big financial problems and won't be bidding anywhere near the 60 million.

With strong rumours of levy looking for a dof I can see us signing anyone until we get a director of football in. If I'm right I hope no delay will accrue.
Point 2
We have all debating on here all season regarding how much we have to spend and will we sign a 20mil striker etc. As far as I'm aware not many teams have ready cash to buy. Most of em pays like in instalment so why can't we.

AVB has his list ready he knows what this squad consists of now and who needs to go and who needs upgrading all in priority. This is the summer we will see what ENIC wants from our team. If they fail to back AVB after what was achieved this season with a thin squad then the writing is on the wall for many seasons to come.

Eds any news on players we are looking at or players that we are looking to sell hoping for 1 big name at least and hoping its someone with pace right or left foot also looking forward to seeing sandro back we looked really good when he is playing in the middle of the park plus kaboul miss them both this year
Spurs T {Ed002's Note - There has been interest shown in players like Damiao, Benteke, Icardi etc. but I am not aware that there is anything on course to happen. Higuain or Coentrao will likely be part of an offer for Bale. Soldado, Lopez and Negredo might be forward options and Gomez is looking to England and might be an option. Roberto, Mertens and Salah have been looked at for midfield. I understand that Spurs are considering if Douglas, Indi or Benatia would be suitable as a replacement for Gallas as an alternative to Alderweireld in defence.}

Apparently Wilfried Bony is holding talks with three premier league clubs over the weekend, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and West Ham being linked. Do you know if we're one of the interested parties Ed? If not is there any news on strikers? {Ed001's Note - interested, yes, so I would assume you are one of the 3 his agent is trying to get to buy him.}
