Ed any idea when baldini will be appointed D. O. F? {Ed008's Note - Nope

13 Jun 2013 11:55:50
AVB has put 10 players up for sale, these include Defoe and ade, surely that must mean we have a couple of new strikers lined up?? Also Parker, hudd, friedel and Gomes on the list only one were going to get over £5mill for is hudd so not much money coming back in! {Ed008's Note - Makes sense every player has a price and AVB has an idea of what players he wants to bring in.

Sorry but where did you see this item, thanks

It was in the metro. I've seen it too. Defoe and Ade can go for the right price

The Metro lol, the Sunday Sport is more reliable!

Considering that no-one else in journalism has released this, I know this is untrue. For starters we wouldn't sell both strikers without one already being signed (especially getting rid of defoe - absolutely bonkers).

Also nothing on tv (reliable) tv (reliable) or THFC website (V. reliable)

Untrue!

Wouldnt be suprised if people like livermore added to the list aswell

We're being linked with Gareth Barry in the papers today, any truth in this Eds?
I hope not!

Jamie
{Ed008's Note - What is he 31 years old? Highly unlikely theirs interest with the amount of midfielders at the club.

Lets hope not. He's no better than Parker so what would be the point. There's much better and younger midfielders out there for us to go and get.

Dave

In my opininon, scotty is worth keeping if his replacement would be barry. Parkers, work rate is incredible!

Alderweireld heading to Tottenham

I hope so but don't believe it

He will be in a Spurs next season, and I don't mean wearing one at his leisure round the house

Bale has gone boys. Already done a deal! 90 mill plus add ons. Tottenham could not refuse it. Bale to be on nearly 200 grand a week. Going to Real.

The only way Bale is going to Madrid this summer is if

A) Madrid sell Ronaldo,
or
B) If AVB leaves For either PSG or Madrid.

Bale has already said he loves playing under AVB and loves it at Spurs. DL will NOT sell for anything less then £90m and Madrid have said that they will wait until a new manager is appointed before they start reshaping the team.

I think maybe a troll!

This story comes from a 'FIFA Agent' who works for FIFA.
FIFA have not employed any agents since 2001.
It is a troll who 'leaks' stories that always are made up.
If RM where going to offer big money for bale, they would have done already.
Perez has said that they are waiting on a new manager, now, tell me one manager who has ever bought a player a Madrid?
Perez signs his 'galacticos' not his manager.

He ain't worth 90mil, but if they offer it Levy should SNAP their hands off!

Yid in the Hood

I agree I love bake he's a huge tallent but with over £100m to spend, you could strengthen the team as a whole but as long as the right players come in!

Essex yiddo

RM made the offer last Monday 3rd June. It was an offer of 100 million euros. THFC & Bale will commence talks when Bale returns from holiday in the States and the new Director of Football is in post.

I know its another Oracle up there posting, but obviously Levy would snap there hands off for 80M+ and we can all see why, but the likelihood of that all getting reinvested? No Chance.

We really need to keep Bale and add a very good striker. The scary part for me is if Bale goes it will be towards the end of the window, with a Fraser Campbell esque talent in return, without time to upgrade the team accordingly.

R91

Bale isn't going anywhere, neither will avb! the premier league is the best league in the world! All top players who leave will always come back/ want to come back and play here! Avb and levy will bring in the talent to build a title winning team around the likes of bale! no faith some fans, seriously sort your priorities! Yid

Look, if we want to finish in the top three then we shouldn't even be thinking of selling Bale! Top teams don't sell their best players unless their replacement is settled in the squad or is nearly as good! If we had another player who could be as good in say 18 months, then think about letting him go, if not, he stays!

You have more faith in Levy than most of the fans! Would like you to be right but I doubt it!

Anyone who thinks that Bale will not leave spurs as he " loves playing under AVB" is demented
shorty

Right now Bale is worth more to Levy at Tottenham, his greatly elevated status in world football will help Levy attract more sponsorship, funding and naming rights as well as other commercial gains

Bale will be going nowhere this summer, his price isn't going to go down and meanwhile his still being at the club is hugely beneficial

His price isn't going to go down?
The options are:
1. We sell to Madrid this summer for 80 - 90 mill.
2. We keep him for another year he has a great season and then sell him for under 90 mill because he is a year older.
3. We keep him he has a dodgy season we then have offers of 40 mill.
4. We keep him, he gets injured and we get nothing.
I want to keep him but you cannot deny that if we are going to sell for the money then this is the year. He is at his peak and touted around the world as a great.
I say keep him and sign a creative midfield player and striker, clear deadwood if poss to create more funds. Speculate to accumulate.
Danhors84

Come on - bale sold for £90 million and is on under £200,000 a week, if bale sold for a world record transfer fee I would imagine his wages would be quite higher than that, half of Citeh squad are on that money

Danhors84
Your suggestion of who to sign is exactly where our problem lies. Right now we need a decent striker and a creative midfielder, both have to be quality to push us on. That's WITH Bale in the team.
Sell Bale for £80m+, invest £40m in the two signings we already need and we're then still a Gareth Bale short so won't progress at all. £40m in the bank though, that'll go towards a stadium that won't translate to success on the pitch for 6-10years, if other examples are anything to go by (we're over 3years at least away from even playing in it let alone paying for it).
That is a highly likely outcome and if it happens we really have to accept that we are going nowhere until the new stadium is built and/or a large amount of it is paid off. There are a lot of assumptions in there to think it will actually mean more success years down the line anyway; high TV income continuing for that long, how financial fair play really looks by then and what other billionaire playboys takeover clubs and find the loop-holes, where we've finished and if we've won anything in that time affecting what the club profile is etc. We could have even further to catch up by then.
The case study from down the road would show that even with some money in hand, it will be considered successful to be competing hard 2-3 places lower in the league for years - that's 7th-8th for us!
Before somebody starts with comments about this being negative and pessimistic, it's not, it's just being realistic.
Simmo

Simmo,
I don't know if it was the way I wrote the comments or you may have misread it. This is not an argument but what you state is the point I was trying to make. I totally agree that we need to keep bale and add quality. I worry that money will be ploughed into the stadium and not into squad so we will watch mediocre football in a lovely stadium. My other point was just that we will never get offers of 90 mill after this summer for bale as he will older, have less years on his contract and cannot improve on what he has done his year.
I say keep bale and sign soldado and nani (in an ideal world)
Danhor84

Danhor84
Totally agree with you mate (not sure on Nani but def two decent signings needed) Like you I was just pointing out how things will probably end up when we likely have to take the option of top price for Bale.
Simmo

What about damaio oracle?

Friedel to blackburn on a free with Gomez to sign for PSV for free as well. Tottenham to splash out £45 million for Robben as a replacement for bale. Dawson to stoke for £6 million {Ed008's Note - All of your rumours seemed good until you said Robben for 45 million lol

Robben for £45m?, A great player, no doubt about it but £45m I don't think so, it wasn't to long ago he was being touted around for £12m. Agree about Friedel and Gomes.

Robben plays on the right!

11 Jun 2013 20:08:45
With PSG after AVB surely Levy will have to back him in the transfer market?? If he doesn't we could potentially lose Bale and AVB! So what's it to be mr Levy??

As usual, Levy may listen on AVB if THE PRICE IS RIGHT.
Simmo

I think AVB will stay with us but levy has to give him a decent transfer budget. and has to act on it quick. Dapz

If Baldini is coming AVB would look pretty bad leaving another club after 1 season and having his pick brought in as DoF. Or maybe there is a reason for no news on DoF. Damn I hope not.

11 Jun 2013 19:28:42
PSG have been in contact with AVB's representatives.
The Anti-Oracle {Ed008's Note -

AVB is happy at Spurs. He has only just started his project

PSG can't do anything without DL permission, so let them talk to his reps if DL says no then AVB stays, DL knows if AVB goes then so does Bale, I know he is a bit tight fisted but he is stupid. He now just needs to back him and open the cheque book.

10 million release clause in contract. how much say does DL have if PSG exercise that clause?

If there's £10m release clause and it's activated the Levy won't be that gutted. He can't be blamed for losing AVB and he gets £10m so it's as happy a version of losing your manager after a year as you can get for him.

According to reports minero want £15mill for Bernard! We should be biting there hands of at that price.

Agreed. This lad is amazing, I don't reckon his size is an issue such is his speed and skill. Snap him up as soon as possible.

Amen to that. Just the player we need to unlock defences.

Gabriel.

Agree with the above is a must!

Would be a quality signing but he isn't willing to leave them yet. as he told tv.

10 Jun 2013 12:46:21
Is baldini our DOF or still just rumours at the moment?

Not been appointed yet

We need to act fast and get players in before pre season and not deadline day deals after 3 games of season

09 Jun 2013 15:58:32
dortmund have bid 17m euros for Bernard. bye bye
shorty

That story has been doing the rounds since we were first linked with him. We also sold gareth bale for 90 million, singed snidjer in jaunary oh and we singed damiao every transfer window for the past 3 years.

teabag.

The boys the real deal, and in terms of how good he will be he's worth £20mill all day long. He is left sided so would that mean bale gets sold? Or Bernard on the wing an bale playing just off the striker?

So Mr I knows what's best but will f**k it up anyway Levy, are we going to put in a bid or what? Or are we going to sit with our finger up our a**e as usual!

Davo, you are the original mr angry.
Your posts really are full of intellect aren't they.

Save the intellect for work! Use this lovely banter site to clear my mind, and express my views only, on what I think is happening to treasured team!

Y do people slate levy, he always backs the manager spends millions but wisely and gets a return,
He didn't last summer because of Harry leaving and I don't believe he bought a striker in jan because rather already sorted!

Teabag, Miniero just announced it today.
shorty

Damaio is clearly available its down to levy to sort it or wether he's got someone better in mind. sure he will perform better than adebayor haha

Spend wisely we spend more than most teams and still can't break into the top four! We've spent more than the scum!

Davo, we'll probably make the same mistake we did with Oscar and dilly dally on making a move. We shouldn't forget that we have townsend and Falque that are exciting wide players so signing Bernard won't be top of Levys list.

Gabriel.

^^^^Arsenal have always had the same philosophy at the club which has managed to get then top 4 every year. Now that Avb has arrived there's no denying the players look a closer bunch and the football seems more
organised then it was under Harry. With a few AVB signings we could finaly topple the Arse-Anals.

Gabriel.

Bernard is a good player but does not worth 17m euros. Using as measure of comparision, Wellington Nem was by far a better player in his last 2 seasons in Brazil and got sold for 9m euros to Shakthar.

Brazilian Yid

Interesting observations from someone who would appear to actually be in brazil perhaps.

Good comment about Brazillian people post but a player is worth what a club are prepared to pay ie is bale worth 80/100million? He is if Madrid think he is.
So Dortmund have offered 17million euro for Bernard, so if levy thinks he is worth it, he will pay it.

That is always true. might explain why we don't sign too many "big" name players. our valuations are more realistic compared to the risk.

09 Jun 2013 01:17:05
Is there much truth in the Bernard rumour? I hope so because he's such a talent, creative attacking player

Yeah I would say its true.
Which means the chavs will nick in and sign him anytime soon by offering stupid wages and a nice warm bench to sit on.

Bernard and Gomez please mr levy! Although if past windows are anything to go by we will be getting Stephen Carr and Darren bent!

Supposedly he's off to Dortmund, leaving us with the household name Kacanaklic. Fabulous.

09 Jun 2013 00:53:09
According to reports -

Tottenham battle Dortmund for Brazilian wonderkid Bernard and also line up move for Fulham's Kacaniklic.

Knowing our esteemed leader, which do you think will happen? Answer - neither. Levy won't spent the money needed to get Bernard so that only leaves Kacaniklic. I can see it now. Headlines at 10:59pm on the 31st August will read Tottenham agree deal with Fulham for £2m plus Tommy the Hudd, but Huddlestone fails medical again as window "slams shut!" Levy spouts his trusted "I tried" routine and we get midfield injuries during first few games costing us precious dropped points against west ham or Sunderland etc.

Your thoughts please.

Flippit

So true flippit, are you sure this hasn't happened before?
Come the last day, it will be the same b/s that we have had season after season!
Just for once it would be nice to tie up our targets ( realistic ones is all we can hope for ) before the ref blows his whistle for the kick off in our first match!

There won't be any deadline deals. Business will commence from july onwards. AVB is manager and baldini technical director they aren't going to mess about with last minute signings unless forced to. Tottenham aren't in champions league so will be better if we sign players a. s. a. p before other teams do. We will leave deadline day for Qpr.

You hope! A leopard never changes it spots, nor will levy!
Last minute, bargain basement buys and loads of excuses again!

Hopefully avb can unearth some gems on cheap, I have serious doubt whenever I see us being linked to 20 or 30m players, not going to happen

We have to spend big this season. we need a new LB, cm, a wing forward and two new strikers. levys tightness has to stop. LEDLEY SHERINGHAM

Davo, having someone to blame is easy and you think your comments are going to get spurs anywhere? You say you support Tottenham? Well Tottenham consists of the people at the very top all the way down to the ball boys. Like everyone your opinion is as welcome as the next person but the way you bang on over and over makes you sound like a preacher. Shoving it down people's throats until you get some followers.

Yes Levy has made mistakes, but what has he done to improve us? We are a genuine top 6 club now, thanks to Levy. We are looking at a new stadium in the not to distant future, which thanks to his business smarts seems like it won't do much damage to us financially. He made a very bold move in replacing a loved, fan favourite in 'arry for a manager I see as the best manager we have had since the Epl started.

Your right though he should do as you say, let's buy another Bent. I'm sure there's a few Bentlys left for us to waste our money on. He may have cost us but think about what he may have saved us by not buying any man and his dog just to please the fans.

This is not a personal attack just hoping you might change the record based on this comment because seriously the song is getting well out dated.

Many thanks!

Davo, believe me, all will change in a few weeks time. Baldini and AvB know exactly who they're after. All in good time my friend. all in good time.

Gabriel.

IMO, jury still out on AVB; he had a very small squad to play with and usually not much choice about who played where. Bale ended up roaming around up-top almost permanently as much because we had no strikers as anything else i'm sure. I like what I've seen, after the initial slow start we seemed to get it together. We did drop ridiculous points to two of the relegated teams and the Liverpool loss was criminal (and the manner of Everton away).
Away record finally something to be pleased about but, as usual with Spurs, they find a way to drop more at home to beatable sides instead!
Levy; we've been burnt by Bent, Bentley even Pavlyuchenko so right to be guarded about going nuts. The ultimate reason for our falling short for two years now has been transfer failings and not having quite enough to get us over the line, two Januarys passed to see mid-season that needed to be rectified as well. If we do not bring in a quality striker and creative midfielder/attacker at least then we/he will have done it yet again. Europa league will kill us yet again if we don't have a bigger squad or just use kids for it.
Let's see.
Simmo

Many thanks, ( strange name but then so is Davo )
Yes, levy has done a lot for my beloved team, but his refusal to speculate has cost us CL the last two seasons! We only needed a top notch striker and that would have made the difference! We don't need him to pay over the odds, there are good players waiting to be found, Michu, Bentenke, for the right price!
As for these being only my comments, I think quite a few people have expressed their feelings about his royal tightness, last season, the season before, and funnily enough, on this page in the last week! let's be grateful we have a banter site to express our thoughts, rather than it being done from the terraces! Final thing, I was grateful when he got rid of Arry, and I believe we potentially have one of the best in the PL now.

Davo, first off much respect for not taking my comments the wrong way as I seriously mean no offence in my comments.
That being said I do think you still need to look at the bigger picture. Yes Levy could've signed another striker I don't disagree with this but how many of us knew Benteke and Michu would be such a big hit? If we had signed either people would've moaned it was a typical levy purchase, bargin bin! So I don't think they would've fallen into the category of "top notch".
So next option would've been to sign a big name or a young promising striker, so for example Ade or Postiga. Now Ade didn't do it so big name equals massive fail. Postiga didn't live up to expectations so again massive fail. So if you consider that neither player would propel us into cl then what option did we have? IMO it was to play some of the young promising strikers we already have, which we chose not to for whatever reason.

Next point you mention is about it only being your opinion, which is not what I said but maybe I wasn't clear enough. My point was that you go on about it repeatedly and feels to me like you want people to follow this notion that Levy is to blame even though it's not necessarily the case. (AVB is to blame for not giving our younger strikers a chance, not even on the bench, strange).

The 'Arry situation was a great move like I stated but you can't deny the general feeling was that AVB was a huge risk so like I said before, a very bold move by Levy.

All that said though I do understand your frustration with Levy but think you need to consider the whole picture. Spending money would not have garenteed us cl by any means, maybe just meant we had another 3/4 players on our books sucking up there wages till they can leave on a free.

Many thanks (not a name just a sign off, your comment made me chuckle though)

Maybe Levy brought in AVB partly as he's more of a yes-man than Harry and needed a route back into management so wasn't going to demand a big transfer fund? He had a good record with potential before the poisoned Chelski chalice so, he probably got him on the relative cheap as well? Those are the kind of balanced 'risks' that levy will be prepared to take.
Simmo

08 Jun 2013 13:44:01
What about a bid for demba ba? 8 - 9m perhaps carnt see him in chelsea plans nxt season & better than what we have? Getting frustrated at seeing the other teams starting to do there buisness. Maybe we are awaiting before a DOF is appointed?

Rob

We got director of football and no doubt things will start happening end of month onwards. No rush. Need to sign players before deadline day though.

08 Jun 2013 20:42:12
Was only saying that all week between other people in work defo someone i'd take, good shout

Do not want. His knees are a liability. And spurs luck would be we buy him and they give out

Rather have Demba Ba than Adebayor. would be happy with a strike force of Ba, defoe, and either villa or saldado. also bring in Tom Ince as he can play on any wing and not bad up front either. Dapz

Dapz, Townsend, Falque and Pritchard are all better then him. In my opinion it would be a terrible move!
We must remember he is a championship player that has had no expeience in Europe, had a poor tournament with England and failed to help get his team promoted. decent signing for Swansea or Sunderland but never spurs.
Gabriel.

Gabriel. Have you ever watched pritchard play lol. he's awfull. not on our level atall and yago Falque is 24 now and still hasn't broke into out first team. IMO he's too overated and townsend is hit and miss. looked decent for qpr but I dnt think AVB has him in his plans. ince has what it takes trust me. look how walcott, the ox and bale coped with the step up!. Dapz

If Ince is that good why aren't any big clubs chasing him? also why did Liverpool kicked him out if he is so good IMO Townsend is a much better option.

Also in reference to the poster who said we have a director of football, can you tell me who this is, because I wasn't aware any appointment had been made. I know we are interested in Baldini

08 Jun 2013 01:04:19
just read spurs are interested in mario gomez. levy willing to offer 7 million and 70,000 a week, I think it would be a good move for gomez and spurs.

I agree, his experience would do spurs wonders and he still has a few years left in the tank.
Would be a smart and ambitious move in the right direction if we managed to snap Gomez and another young, hungry striker.

Now that Franco baldini has been appointed I can't see him Persuing Damiao any longer. It seems his not the type of director that will wait, wait and wait for a player to make up their mind. For that reason it put damiao back on the shelf.

Gabriel.

7mil for Gomez is a steal, he's worth 20 at least seriously he's that clinical

I personally think it will cost more to secure gomez. Living in Germany, and watching the Bundeliga, the guy is the real deal.
If he goes anywhere though it will be on the continent, the guy scored 19 goals as a sub this year. His stats are of the charts.

sean

Gomez would be an excellent signing for Spurs! A 7 mil bid sounds exactly like the kind of bid Levy would open negotiations with, although I suspect in reality we would be looking at 15-20 mil to get him to the lane. I would love for us to pull this one off! Gomez is world class.

Hate to be cynical but levy won't spend 15 - 20 million on a 27/28 year old. We have this every year. We are linked with every player under the sun and end up with Dempsey. Don't get me wrong, we are in a good place and the players purchased last season were good. Holtby, Lloris and dembele all good but all under 15 mill. If we keep bale expect a couple of surprise signings of young up and coming players, in the mould of affelay, chadni but nothing else. As a club we are doing well but with Levi in charge and no sugar daddy we are looking at fifth place, fourth if arsenal mess up. We need to get over all this we will get him talk. It's fun but unrealistic and gives spurs fans a bad name.

But hopefully levy needs to realise, and may do, that spending 15million on 1 or 2 27/28 years olds, may actually propell us forward in years to come.
Signing these type of players might push us on further, which in turn, attracts better younger players in the future and starts to build a challenging base for years to come.
Or, am I just stating the obvious, which levy seems to lack seeing every year?

The obvious to most of us, but who are we, the persons who fork out year after year!

09 Jun 2013 14:46:15
arsenal messed up enough in past 2yrs and we managed to mess up even more as always.
Simmo

I love that three people disagreed with my comment about levy not spending 15 mill but the intelligent people that have commented since seem to agree. I completely agree that one or two more experienced players could get us that fourth spot and truly believe that 20 mill spent this January or last on a decent striker would have got us that. We would have made the money back and more. Although as long as mugs like me spend thirty quid plus to watch us play on a Thursday night while levy saves money things won't change. Saying that I am spurs till I die and would pay to watch us in the championship.

Rumours flying round that bale has signed for Madrid for €90 million (£76 million). Hope to god this isn't true!

Nervous spurs fan.

Thfcmatt

76mil and your nervous?! With that money you could get Cavani and still have 20 mil to spare, not that Cavani will come but just to illustrate then point! That's an amazing deal!

It isn't true mate, same guy said John Terry to Valencia and Pep to Man City. Look how that turned out :/

Yid

Some very interesting (read dubious) claims made in the past by this Gallardo character. He has previously claimed to be personally involved in the completed deals for Terry to Valencia, Drogba to Barcelona, Guardiola to Man City, V Valdes to City. Worth googleing his track record

This Bale claims has his brand of deal all over it. Pinch of salt stuff it would appear

Facundo Ferreyra 22 year old argentine 16 goals in 19 games for velez sarsfield argentine champions played for argentin u20 5 goals in 12 games 5 ft 11 spurs are interested in a £6, 500,000 move for the argentine and would outbid Everton, Roma and Inter for he talented young striker.

Sounds like potentially the sort of Chicarito, Benteke, Cisse signing we've needed to try for 2 seasons. Even a one year wonder would've seen us in the Champions League for one of those at least and more than paid for the deal.
Simmo

Lets get real for a moment. Bale will leave. Definite. Either this season or next regardless of us getting champions league. We need to start thinking about life without Bale and bring 3 or 4 quality players for the money we get for him.

How about we start thinking about signing these 3/4 players to replace bale, only when he actually leaves?
Yes, probably next summer if we don't push on.
But, as you suggested, we sign them now, we bench them while bale plays.
Doesn't make for a harmonious squad if you ask me. let's just concentrate on signing who we need NOW.

Fredy Guarn is coming to a lane near you

Is Guarin not a similar type of player as Sandro? I would sooner see a midfield playmaker come to the lane.

If its true, expect Parker to be heading out

The Don, Guarin is a playmaker

Son Heung Min to sign next week.

Gabriel.

I agree, for Dortmund!

Hope so. good player

German press seem to think he'll do to Bayer Leverkusen {Ed002's Note - A number of clubs have been looking at Hamburg's Heung Min Son for the past year. Certainly Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal, Sunderland, Lille and West Ham have had him watched on more than one occasion leading up to the end of last year and Spurs had a bid turned down in January. Since the New Year some interest has been shown by Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Manchester United, CSKA Moscow and Chelsea, who were ideally looking to a deal that sees a player included as part of an offer. Hamburg would like to keep him but I expect him to move this summer, but a move to Chelsea or Manchester United could see him sat on the bench and that is not be what he wants. Dortmun, Leverkusend or Spurs might be the best compromise for him but a recent enquiry from Dortmund has seen a much higher asking price than expected put on the player - so they are looking to negotiate.}

The beast from Brazil could be on his way to London after a miserable first season with Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg.

Spurs boss, Andre Villas-Boas, is tipped for a reunion with Hulk at White Hart Lane, having enjoyed a good relationship with him at Porto.

And Hulk has admitted that if there was nothing in the speculation then he’d be lying.

"And Hulk has admitted that if there was nothing in the speculation then he’d be lying. " He said this about the Chelsea speculation. Gah. another pointless post

Spurs line up £7million transfer for Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez.

The definition of overrated is something that doesn't live up to its reputation or the hype surrounding it (see above)

This is bang on. My sources are telling me the same.
Believe!

DSM

He is crap, just like Osvaldo. {Ed008's Note - Please don't ever compare Gomez to Osvaldo your embarrassing yourself..

Think there is a number missing from that figure! One of europes most consistent strikers age 27 for £7 mill! Not a chance! £17 mill a possibility would much rather pay 17 for him than 20 for saldado.

Agree with post above he scored 42 last season and not given the same chance this season 19.

There is no way he will go for 7 mil, but would love him whoever said he is crap has not been watching football the last few years.

Marc

Would be an excellent signing, but £7 mill looks way out

Gomez is a goal getter. I would love home at the lane. Think I prefer him over damiao.
John boy

Soldado is much much better than Gomez.

With Chavski looking at signing Hulk and Cavani, Spurs struggling to get Soldaldo, what do you all think of a punt on Torres, would be available for IMO around £15 - £20m, I personally think that he would flourish and rediscover his loserpool form at the Lane. He can play the loan striker role and won't have to uproot his family. Eds any chance of this happening? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Being a Chelsea fan, you would say that Ed lol :) {Ed008's Note - No not really because Spurs have no interest in Torres nothing to do with Ed002 being a Chelsea fan get it right!

07 Jun 2013 17:47:28
What about florent maluda, Santa Cruz and upson, all free transfers? Any worth a punt?!

No thank you!

Torres is good but he's crap let's be honest here, I wouldn't want him, much rather Dimiao or soldado or even Gomez

Maluda could be worth a look

If Tevez is available for £8m and would take £100k a week then surely Spurs should be looking at this considering we are looking for a few strikers?

I'd rather take him on loan given our history with ex-Man City strikers.

Adam

More like £200k a week, if he leaves city he'll either go for money (monaco) or so, eone else who can offer him the same as city (money and CL football)

I would take tevez for anything under 15mill. He is a proven premier league striker with a work rate about ten times that of ade or defoe, also a good finisher and good with the longshots. This would be way better than spending twenty million on benteke who has only had one decent season at a poor team.

Robspur

I doubt he would take 100 k a week, more like 200k. We should get him on loan from man city lol

Why would he want to take a pay cut?

Reckon he'd want much more than £100k a week but, you could give him that and at £8m fee you could give him a £5-6m signing-on bonus for a 3-4yr deal and it'd still be a bargain!
If there is any chance at all we should be trying. I know he's had some issues but always gives all on the pitch and is world class.
Simmo

But city won't want to sell to us and it would be more like 15m but worth every penny he is exactly what spurs need as in a striker

Id take him any day! class player!

The reason I quoted £8m and £100k a week is because apparently that is what Liverpool have or are going in with as mentioned in most tabloids at the moment

Lets be honest we are not getting tevez, Torres, cavani or hulk. We people love to dream
John boy

Tevez is going to Juventus.

Tevez is excellent love to see him at the lane

Sat watching the under 21's game between Germany and Holland in which holtby and strootman are playing and I must say that strootman is a class above any other player on the pitch, what are the chances of us getting him, would Improve the midfield so much, ed? {Ed008's Note - I agree I'm watching the game aswell however according Man Utd Ed he's likely to join them..

How is Adam Maher playing or is he? Would like him at spurs imo he'll end up as good if not better than Eriksen
Espur

Very impressed with holtby in the 2nd half. He is pulling all the strings.

Holtby has just scored a cracker, now do that for us please Lewis

He will, I just think it all happened very quickly ast season (his transfer) once he finds his feet he will be a very industrious player (tipicall german) with plenty of skill and his movement is just what spurs need. he just needs a bit of confidence will be up there as a top professional

derbyshire dave

I'm looking forward to the development of Holtby and Iggy. both young energetic and once they find their role within AVBs team I think things will only improve for us.

Pretty obvious and not a ' rumour ' a such but Jackson Martinez won't be joining spurs. 1) to much money and 2) his agent has already confirmed he wants to stay with Porto and that him and family are settled. Another name Benitez will not happen spurs simply aren't interested. Most likely are soldado or villa. Any deals made soon won't be names thrown around the press or ' itk '.
Yid d.

You mean like Villa was not all over the sun

Sean

'Most likely are soldado or villa. Any deals made soon won't be names thrown around the press '

People are saying villas name wasnt in the press, yet I clearly showed his name was all in the sun, and people disagfree, I even posted links, but ed didn't publish them

sean {Ed008's Note - Not allowed to post links..

Nacer Chadli, one year left on contract (FC TWENTE), may be on the move to Tottenham.

All the reports from Napoli and Roma say that Lorenzo Insigne is spurs priority target with Baldini close to tottenham. Being an italian spurs fan, I know all about Lolo Insigne. Incredible pace and footwork he can play out wide but preferably as a striker. 21 young age meaning spurs could keep him for a long time. He has just gotten amazing and he is the new Francesco Totti in italy he has many years to improve and could be bought for 12-15 million a great bargain for such talent.

He's about a foot shorter than Totti isn't he?

Isnt lennon a foot shorter than totti as well?
