Hi eds, was just wandering how likely it is is that this Paulinho deal goes through? {Ed008's Note - Its complete guesswork we'll say 50/50

Yorkshire spur

1.) I would say 80 % chance. Highly likely to go through straight after he's finished playing in the cup Brazil are in

2.) He is coming to Spurs. He said he would be 'fulfilling a dream' and wouldn't be able to turn us down.

3.) Wonder whos disagreeing with my post. Paulinho almost a cert to come to Spurs

4.) 25 Jun 2013 16:58:15
0% chance!
Off to Inter Milan

With Abidal on a free, do you reckon he's worth a punt? We NEED a left back {Ed008's Note - He's not at the same level as he was before he had cancer..

Yorkshire spur

1.) In a word no

2.) Thanks ed, I just thought at the moment almost any LB is better than Assou Ekotto

3.) With Danny rose coming back we don't need another left back, he preformed very well at Sunderland and he's young so we are set for left backs

4.) As an attacking left back he's been great at sunderland, defensively he's still got a lot to learn, so I don't think he will be first choice yet.
b/s

5.) Rose is not good enough for CL football. That's the level we should be aiming for. Sell him to Sunderland and put the money towards someone better.

With Neymar going to Barcelona, not Real it means that maybe Real will be 100% after Bale and Bale only, however maybe it means Tello, Villa or any other of their wingers/forwards to be available

Yorkshire spur

1.) If you get villa all it means is no other bigger club that can offer him champions league is interested, you would not of stole him off anyone!

Not seen him linked, but there's speculation that Nastasic could be on his way out of Man City, personally think he would be a great buy, at around £15million.

Also where is a left back? Davies would be ok, but not really someone who is of the quality needed for where we want to be, in my opinion anyway.

Mr Levy, Mr Baldini, do something. Left back, Centre back and Left winger all needed please (In order of importance).

Yorkshire spur

1.) Sorry Yorkshire spur but completely disagree with you on that, Davies is a fantastic Left Back and would be excellent for us (although I doubt we will get him once Liverpool agree a fee as well! Looks like Levy' hard line has again cost us another player) and IMO Nastasic is no better than we currently have have CB. Just my opinion though

2.) 18 Jul 2014 16:04:10
Lookslike we are closing in on Davies and he will be an excellent signing imo. Nastasic no thanks.

3.) I agree with Yorkshire & think Nastasic would be a good signing with great potential, the only thing that would concern me is how bad that knee injury he had was. it seemed to have City's medics baffled to what the problem was. if he has the all clear now I'd be all for signing him.
I like full backs that can defend first & foremost so Ben Davies doesn't really do it for me

Can believe the fact that some on here are already slagging of Pochettino/didn't want him appointed. He's the best we could get IMO. LVG has had very shaky player relationships in the past (love/hate) and isn't that why we got rid of Sherwood. Additionally as he held out for Man utd, it showed he didn't want the job. While the idea of De Boer was fine, he has won in Holland only at the biggest club in the country. He is unlikely to be better than Pochettino in my eyes and he talked far too much about seemingly very little, again almost Sherwood esque. In Pochettino we have a young, ambitious coach who plays a brilliant style of football, remind you of anyone? (Martinez, Rodgers) Let's all get behind him, give him AT LEAST one season to build his own team, playing his style of football and enjoy the results.

Before anyone jumps on my back to make it clear I in no way am saying that LVG/FDB equal with Sherwood, merely share some characteristics

Yorkshire spur

1.) Totally agree Yorkshire spur! With all the negativity around his appointment he is up against it already! A few bad results or performances and WHL will be moaning and groaning, concerned!

I am right behind the guy, would have been right behind de bour but he has just as many question marks over him. Dutch league, wally with the Brolly enough said!

Big names - I love dreaming too, Levy was talking to LVG and he played us like a fiddle so it came down to a choice between de bour and Poch! We got the right man in my opinion and its time to back the guy

2.) Exactly, bring on next season!

Ok, heard some different views on the Chelsea game on this site and in regard to the TS post match interview, but personally I am fuming with Sherwood. Try saying you were f***ing wrong to play walker right mid, with Naughton behind him, wrong for playing Lennon in the hole and Sigurdsson out wide, wrong for dropping Solddado after he gets MOTM and a goal the week before, wrong for playing an unproven Algerian kid over an experienced Brazil international. Then go bleeding about character, Adebayor, Dawson and Sandro, are definite characters, Lloris is captain of France, Kaboul has often been captain of Spurs, with Vertonghen and Walker also captaining on occasion. Tim YOUR JOB is to pick the right team and motivate the players, don't blame just them. Sherwood is ridiculously out of his depth, good riddance in the summer, he's Redknapp without the player motivation or flowing football, shocking.

Yorkshire spur

1.) If you think those players showed any fight or pride in wearing white yesterday and on several other occasions this season we have been watching different games.

2.) Fair point, however it is the manager's job (AVB failed to) to motivate the team to fight for him and the shirt, it shouldn't be, but that's the way it is with a team of foreign players and non academy graduates

3.) Agree motivation is a part of management, but is pride in ones own performance not something these players should be held accountable for?

For all Dawson's flaws he usually puts his heart into, Holtby is another that at least appeared to try and cared about the result.

Too many of this team are going through the motions for whatever reason. Lame duck manager or not, a few of them will leave I'd be shocked to see LLoris and Verts at the Lane next season, they do not look nor sound happy. Unlike Soldado and Eriksen who have come out and expressed a desire to stay.

So, a rather quiet January. To me the fact that no players have been brought in and the fact that established players like; Holtby, Capoue, Lamela, Chadli etc have all either completed or been linked with loan moves tells me Sherwood is gone at the end of the season, regardless. Otherwise they'd have gone permanantley and we'd have brought in a striker and left back, shame as I like Sherwood, but his straight talking, all out a attack tactics and variants on 442 are very similar to Redknapp and I don't think Levy wants that again. You may disagree, it's my opinion, not claiming to be itk or anything, just speculation

Yorkshire spur

1.) Redknapp would not have played Bentaleb against Man. City

2.) As someone who was happy with Sherwoods appointment i'm now starting to dislike him, his wide boy talk coupled with his tactics are irratating to say the least. As someone has mentioned below if there are no signings (which we need) then surely its because he will be gone before his contract expires.

3.) No Rednapp would have played Sue!

4.) Davo do you mean Sandra?

5.) Never could spell very well, spurski!

AVB must also be fed up with the fact that Lennon did almost all of Walker's defending for him last season. Also must be fed up that he is one of our longest serving players and must be so fed up with him that he was captain against Lazio. Also I think he started as he was the best option and justified that by winning the penalty.

Totally agree, I think he's probably just as good as Eriksen and not far off Lamela, however with that transfer fee he may want a hefty signing on fee. Also Fiorentina have champions league so this could prove difficult
