Poor result last night. I don't buy into the current manager, who finished last season in 8th place with Southampton, but that isn't good enough for us.
The players are not performing at their highest level and I would like to see Tony Pullis installled as manager. He would get the best out of the players. Time for change.

RobbieG

1.) It's not just the result but a lot of other things, not many teams will beat the Chavs this season . I am not sure on Mopo at the moment, always thought he could do it, but doubts starting to creep in .
Once again we are back to playing players in the wrong positions! Chiriches is not a RB, in fact I am not sure what he is! Then Soldado has one of his better games, gets the goal he needed, then gets dropped, why? It was the same with Stambouli, after the Europa league game, Confidence up, let's crush it again . The substitutions, replacing Mason with Paulinho, who else in the world would do that? An all action trier for a slow Brazilian plodder, why? Lennon, yes average but always willing to track back and defend for Chadli, another lazy so called star!
Then sorry everybody, but Bentaleb and Kane . Both couldn't try any harder, gives their all, fantastic attitudes but they aren't top six players . I know that Kane is the best we have at the moment but please get us a top striker, who actually scores a better average from chances supplied . In this league, you can't miss so many!
Our last couple of results have just papered over, not cracks but wide Chasms . Yes we are 10th, just 6 points behind Manchester United but we are also just 7 points above West Brom, who are 5th from bottom .
Once again we will hear all about a transitional season, with Mopo having to get the players playing his way, and what ever other excuses we can find, but still he doesn't know his best team, there is no stability in the team, and one week we play the high line, then we don't . Nothing ever is the same or even a bit consistent . I can take losing, providing we learn from it, but at SPURS, that never happens!

Starting with Kane, Bentaleb and Mason at Stamford Bridge is right up there alongside the decision to play Danny Rose as the PL Lb all season. What must Roberto be thinking, he gets the winner on Sunday and is then dropped instead of Harry "i only score in the europa group stage" Kane. Being dropped for Kane would smash the confidence of a Sunday pub league player, let alone a man who scored 84 goals in 3 seasons at Valencia.

Is it just me or is this the worst team we have had since we were relegated back in the 70's?

RobbieG

1.) The good news is Burnley and QPR will likely take 2 of the 3 spots this season .

2.) 27 Oct 2014 20:47:37
We have had far worse teams than our current one.

3.) We've had worse players, but not necessarily many worse teams. This group is unbalanced and uncommitted. There is no way the supposed talent in this squad should loose at home to WBA and Newcastle.

{Ed008's Note - The talent is there no denying that Lloris, Vertonghen, Lamela, Eriksen, Soldado problem for me lies in management and the training as some of these players are vastly under performing up to coaches to get them playing their game.

4.) Like the past three managers have all been no good?

{Ed008's Note - I thought AVB did a great job just the signings in his 2nd season weren't the players needed despite their talent on the pitch they didn't fit into the system..
What's the problem here? Levy? Baldini? Pochettino?

5.) 27 Oct 2014 22:28:53
Pochettino doesn't seem to have a plan b and neither did Avb and I think its down to these coaches obsessed with playing their 'systems'. They don't seem to be flexible and do or change an obvious problem.

6.) LLoris is the only one that consistently shows up in PL games. Verts looks like he is going through the motions, the others have not shown an ability to perform in the PL. Eriksen gives us hope, then goes missing. Lamela I don't believe will make it and Soldado just can't buy a goal, but then he doesn't get much time on the field either.

7.) We can not have gone though as many managers as we have over the past 12 years without there being an underlying issue with the Hierarchy as Spurs!

How many other teams have had the Manager & Player turn over we have had in the past 12 years?

For me, there are issues with Baldini and Levy.

Baldini just is not working, I can understand the sense of the club wanting somebody in his position for continuity at the Club if a manager moves on, but he just isn't working.

Levy, how many changes of manager since appointment? he can not continue to avoid the axe, ultimately the buck stops with him!! go!!

Lamela - still not producing in the PL, jury still out.
Naughton - not good enough for a top 6 prem team, end of.
Chiriches - not good enough, gives the ball away, no good in the air, gets bullied on the pitch.
Kabul - injury prone and no way near his previous status!
Paulinho - to slow with distribution.
Rose - getting better, but still not a top 6 team player!
Townsend - tunnel vision, no end product or unpredictability making him easy to play against.
Dembele - was expecting him to be the next best thing, not produced are injuries to blame?
Adebayor - two seasons too long at the Lane, lazy and needs to go.
Soldado - system doesn't suit him, great touches but we need a finisher and powerhouse.
Vertonghen - clearly wants to be away, sulky and a liability
Fazio - who! & what!

WE NEED A TOP CLASS CENTRE HALF AND A TOP CLASS FORWARD!

8.) It's more than a CB and a striker, we have no pace, no width, no team leader(s) on the field and no one capable of delivering a ball into the opponents box either in open play or dead ball situation on a consistent basis.

What we do have is a surplus of midfield players that want to play in the middle and are not good enough for the top half of the PL.

9.) Yellow-Card,

The width can be resolved playing the right players on the right sides!

Pace, I agree to an extent, Gazza wasnt the fastest player in the world.

Leaders, totally agree, we have lacked leaders for as long as I can remember!

Once Erikson is not on the pitch, we have NOBODY who can deliver a quality dead ball!

totally agree with the surplus of midfielders that are not good enough, but so are the majority of our central defenders and strikers.

I do think we need some stability in our manager, we need to get behind him!

Edd008's note earlier asking where the problem is: Levy? Baldini? Pochettino? - For me its the first two. again, how many managers and player has our team been through over the past 12 years! time for stability in a manager.

Custard pie Baldini, and although Levy has installed financial stability in the club, BACK YOUR MANAGER!

When you back a manager and purchase a player for your manager that you deem may be over priced, you purchase what your manager requires to fit into a system you employed him to do, albeit maybe loosing a little money!

When you purchase a player in replace of that initial intended player and thus saving money initially, not only do you loose what the deemed overprice player was in the managers system, but you also increase the risk of:

1, that replaced player working and developing into the managers system
2, failing the system - intended to create success
3, oh and money wasted - Bale £100m

Its starting to scare me when as fans we are calling for Kane to start. just shows how bad our other strikers really are.

So sick of our beloved team going through this process each year!

Keep expecting THIS to be our year, only to fall from grace yet again!!

Absolutely. Compare this team to Harry's team. The only quality players are Lloris, Walker, Vertonghen & Eriksen. Walker is injured & Vertonghen won't sign a contract extension and clearly wants out.
I can only see a mid-table finish, with the big four, Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal & Man U ahead of us, as well as Liverpool, Everton, Southampton & West Ham. That leaves us in 9th position. Our recent signings have been dire and other players look stale.
