Nathan oduwa loan cut short and is returning to spurs . started off ok but fell away and never really done much maybe better suited to loan move to championship away from the hatchet men of scottish football.

Even high profile news agencies are now reporting he has passed his medical.
I know Ed001 has said it will not happen - but it is looking more and more likely

I said he preferred Southampton, but they had not met the asking price so were trying to make it awkward in the hope Atletico would accept their lesser bid or pay more than the £1.5m get out clause. I expected the two clubs to come to a compromise but Atletico are just playing hard ball and taking the bigger offer.}

Just to clarify, Alderweireld's preference was Tottenham. The the only reason Southamptons Les Reed is in Spain for is to negotiate compensation.

{Ed001's Note - in that he preferred Spurs? Yes, I know you were wrong, but Southampton refused point blank to match the offer Spurs made. They would not compromise over the deal, as they believed they had a cast iron contract to buy him for a set price. Hence the court action. If Alderweireld was not interested in them, then Atletico would have just let him negotiate with both, knowing they would be in the clear when he rejected Saints. I fail to see why you are being so smug over nothing. Seems a bit desperate to me.}
