I can't get over how so many Spurs fans are so negative. The board get blasted for not spending big and early, last year when we did just that and spent close to 100m we was all excited and what a disaster that was. Ended up with Tim nice but dim in charge finishing 6th and not playing our best CB or 25million striker. I think so far it's been positive summer for spurs, 3 better players in and 3 average out. I think we will have a stronger season and hopefully building for the future. I also suspect 3 more signings.

1.) Might have spent big, but on players that weren't chosen by the person who had to pick them . Don't get me wrong, with the exception of Chadli, not site yet, and Paulinho, waste of money, they are good players, but heavily overloaded where not needed .
Also, you can't blame the supporters for TS, chosen by the dopey one!

2.) Davo, come on let's cut the AVB didn't pick the players rubbish. It's been bandied about for ages now with no evidence. Every one of those players is exactly what he publicly stated he was looking for (with the exception of Eriksen, who was probably the best of the bunch). Later Tim also confirmed that he was asked if he wanted to sign people.

I agree Sawbospur, so far so good.

I have seen as much promise in Chadli and Capoue as I've seen in Vlad or Holtby. Nobody has stepped up to own a spot yet, maybe they will if the management is settled, they've had a year to settle themselves and they avoid injuries this season. All had a spell out at bad timing and we've been stuttering for so long with no real direction. Very hard for players to really deliver with all that against them. Look at the Messiah Mr Ozil for £42m+ last year - he has class but hardly delivered consistently for them and that was with none of the above to challenge him. He was given position he wants, relatively settled team, ultra-settled management and coaching etc. Certainly didn't pull up trees and then was the same in the WC!
Paulinho however had more chance than most and I worry that he just inherently doesn't have the game we need but, maybe he'll surprise us this year and adjust his game and build on the good stuff (particularly his nack for a goal).

4.) Thanks for the backing, I think give this manager time and clearly on the evidence of the pre season games so far we are looking in good shape. Pace and attacking football the way we want the spurs team to play. Also in Dier it looks to me like he has one eye on the future. Erik lamela for me will be the one to watch this season, with him on form as well as eriksen it looks promising. My main worry is striker, don't think any of the current crop have 20 goals a season in them.

This summer has been a disaster compounded by the Rose contract, the only chairman in the top 10 that would give a player like Rose an extension. He spent big last summer but not a pound of it came from Levys pocket and it never does. Look what Daniel sacraficed last year so that he could have his one and only ever summer spending spree. The reality is all the time he is in charge Spurs are now top 8 material.

6.) It's the transfer window. Unless you're man city, man utd, Chelsea or Liverpool, most transfer windows are pretty depressing times.
