Just seen our starting 11 and I'm really concerned. Our back 4 are extremely average and the midfield 3 look toothless and one dimensional! I may be wrong but fear another Everton performance coming on.

21 Jul 2020 20:55:44
Personally I'm hoping Hojberg does go to Everton. I can't see what he offers us? He isn't a midfield destroyer type, nor a playmaker so what is all the fuss about? He hasn't played for Southampton for a while and their results have improved and all his stats suggest he really doesn't contribute a great deal, no more than Winks for example? Any thoughts?

1.) 22 Jul 2020 11:43:02
I’d rather see us fix the defense. full backs/ wing backs of the required quality are in short supply in our squad. Center back positions are thin on consistent quality also with Jan expected to leave and with Toby aging.

12 Jul 2020 09:10:32
When United brought Bruno Fernandes in Jan they were in a worse position than us! Penny pinching Levy had the chance to sign him but wouldn't pay that little bit extra to get the deal through. Now look at the difference in the 2 clubs. They can go 3rd today and we can drop into the bottom half! Our football is dull, turgid, boring, devoid of any spark, United have transformed from all over the place to a team that is great to watch.

I'm not saying we would be world beaters if we had got the deal over the line but it shows for the umpteenth time how Levy and his penny pinching is killing any chance of us actually achieving anything! He has served us well but now is stifling us and sending us in a direction which will leave us losing the few good players we have and another 10+ years of achieving nothing! With a little more investment Poch would still be in charge and we would be comfortably in the top 3 for some time to come. I've backed Levy for years but he has blown it completely in the last 18 months. Sell up before it's too late!

1.) 18 Jul 2020 10:28:08
I don’t imagine things getting any better any time soon.

The cash flow crunch must be considerable with the new stadium financing, lack of attendance at games, no CL next season - potentially no Europa Cup income and a reduction in Premier League “prize” money.

I’d imagine the number crunchers are working overtime trying to keep the club solvent. A perfect storm unfortunately.

24 Jul 2015 22:35:02
If we were to sell Adebeyor, Soldado, Lennon, and Chiriches, we would have squad space and with all the other sales nearly enough to buy Berahino, Bolasie, Sissoko and Austin, just saying! That would make me actually optimistic too!

We can moan about the penalty decision as much as we like, but the bottom line is we only have ourselves to blame. Our finishing was awful, Kane fluffed 3 and Dier was just embarrassing to miss in such a manor!
Apart from 45 mins when Southampton went into meltdown, we have been a shambles so far this year.
On aother note it wasnt even a free kick in the 1st place if we want to moan. he gave the ball away and ran into a stationary Horberg, but we all knew the inevitable equaliser was on its way!

22 Sep 2020 21:31:25
Best night for us in a long time, kept a clean sheet, no new injuries or fitness concerns, Sanchez didn't give the ball away once and Winks didn't once play the ball sideways or backwards! Nobody put a foot wrong, up the Spurs! 🤦‍♂️.

{Ed047's Note - love it!🤣

1.) 23 Sep 2020 10:32:57
The fixtures are ridiculous. The fact that EFL teams don't have to test for C.V. is unbelievable, if spurs hadn't paid for their tests it could have closed down the Premiership.

No way should it be rescheduled unless all our other matches in this cup are also rescheduled. Pretty sure we have the next round next week!

17 Sep 2020 18:55:10
Well Raver crack open the Mr Kiplings! Those 5th best Bulgarians didn't know what hit them once they went down to 9 men!

On another note am I the only one that thinks there is still more than enough time for Levy to screw up the sulposed double deal?

1.) 17 Sep 2020 19:48:00
Pathetic display and the Mr Kipling cakes will stay in the pantry mate, you can't give Billy big bollocks after beating a team on a level with the Dog and Gun😎.

2.) 17 Sep 2020 20:15:00
Back in their heyday the Dog and Gun would have stuck 6 past those lot! 🤣🤣.

3.) 17 Sep 2020 21:12:08
Most definitely especially when I was in my pomp😁.

15 Sep 2020 13:16:36
Our recruitment is so bad it is actually frightening! How can we get it so wrong every transfer window. Still haven't replaced Dembele, Eriksen, Rose or Walker and no closer to having a proper second striker than we were 5 years ago. What on earth is going on?
Add to that we have a shocking style of play, if we even have one at all, and a load of mediocre players that done seem to care about putting on the shirt, and a manager that has great history but seemingly little future. Pathetic.

1.) 15 Sep 2020 15:50:27
Agree mate we are pathetic and going nowhere with Enic,9 managers in 19 years with 1 league cup is laughable for the 8th richest club in Europe, winks, Dier, Davies are stealing a living as they would struggle for game time with the Dog and Gun mate.

2.) 16 Sep 2020 19:21:13
Mwheels, lookslike Reguillon is on his way, a much needed left back. If we get Bale/ Belotti/ Bailey/ Daka in then it's game on.

Its Mourinho that worries me. Surely he can see his defensive tactics don't work.

Let's hope we can sell Lamela, Davies, Moura et al.

3.) 17 Sep 2020 10:30:18
Get these signings and we will win trophys this season.

13 Sep 2020 18:26:36
That was even worse than I thought possible.
No gameplan, turgid performance. Our midfield is weakend by Hojberg, he is not a midfield destroyer and is very mediocre on the ball. We need someone strong and creative in the middle of the park.
Worst of all we have no identity at all now. No noticeable tactical approach, or style of play. We just seem to pick some players and hope for the best, its awful!
I could just about accept that level of performance at the end of last season because we were winning games, but when you play like that and don't win something seriously has to change and fast!

1.) 13 Sep 2020 19:51:42
Starting Hojberg and Winks left me wondering where the creativity was coming from . now we know.

What odds José gone by xmas?

2.) 13 Sep 2020 20:13:07
Winks is one of the worst footballers I've ever seen and he just goes sideways and backwards, a mass clearout is needed moura, Ali, davies, winks, aurier, foyth, lamela, can all jog on for me.

3.) 14 Sep 2020 13:44:38
That's exactly what you get when you combine Maureen and Levy. A club run from top to bottom by inept muppets. #MAUREENOUT #ENICOUT.

4.) 14 Sep 2020 13:45:32
You know things are bad when we lose to Everton.

Yes I get all that Guvnor, but why do we always continue to turn the screw for so long? I am glad we have a solid base and are a properly run club, for which Levy is to be congratulated, but haggling over a couple of mil until the 11th hour when you are talking about a 50 mil plus player makes me think he isn't that interested in the player and will end up with the usual club statement come the 9th, we tried our best but it wasnt possible etc.
On the other hand if we do get it over the line it will have been so dragged out that he probably won't be ready for selection until september. I just would have loved a year where we buy whoever our genuine realistic targets are early in the window so they can prepare and be ready for gameweek one, not gameweek 4. Perhaps I live in a fantasy world!

I am sick to death of us leaving transfers until the 11th hour and then missing out. It stinks of Levy penny pinching again, even if we get Lo Celso he won't be ready for the 1st few games as he will need time to settle in.
Currently from our tiny squad from last year we have got rid of many more than we have added and the contract situation of the ones we have are nearly terminal in some cases, why leave it to drag so long. If they are showing no signs of extending contracts just move them on for the best price you can actually get and stop pissing about for the sake of a few mil and get the players you actually know are available and you want, is it really that complicated?
Im guessing Levy is now planning on signing Sessegnon in jan on a tribunal to save another few mil, risky business!

{Ed002's Note - Embarrassing.}

I think the reason you finished below us was because again you got less points than us! Your arguements are always based on ifs, well here is one for you Oddbod, IF my Auntie had balls she would be my Uncle!

I suppose you have forgotten what it is like to see your fans celebrating taking 3 points? 😉.

I can't see us buying a replacement any time soon. It will mean more minutes for Skipp this season so we may see a bit more of him and what he is made of, he seems to have great potential.

The one thing we desperately need is a CM that can go past a player which then opens up space for the front 3. This is what Dembele has been brilliant at. When he goes past one or two and then gives it we create so much more. We need to have that as in my eyes Dier Wanyama, Winks and Skipp are really all competing for the same posistion and currently Sissoko is the only one for the other CM spot if Dembele goes.

I really like Sissoko in terms of speed stamina work rate and dribbling but technically he isn't good enough and has little to no end product. He does a lung busting 40 yard run, goes past 3 and then misses a 5 yard square pass!

I would also like to add that Dembele has been my favourite player to watch live for the last 3 years and he has completely bossed many of the games I've been to. The guy has such strength and technique, made it look so easy at times, and I will miss him!

Yes but some of the players behind them are bang average so that will level us off a bit!

{Ed047's Note - I think a solid CB would be good MW and maybe play Dier as DM where he started and looked so good.

Definitely need to get more out of Ndombele too.

Only 1 team was playing, lol. 2 teams were playing, badly, you lot were just worse! After not registering a shot on target vs Bournemouth we managed 9 against your pathetic backline.

Raver, I emptied the whole box of Mr Kiplings tonight, love a good lemon slice!

The only positive is that Ndombele passed the ball forwards more times in about 20 mins than the whole team have in 4 games and they were passes that actually affected the game, surely Jose will want to cut that out🤦‍♂️.
