Why do we constantly mess up, surely the people at the top are compétant, why are we paying scouts, agents and management to make a complete balls up of each and every transfer window. Now everyone knows we are desperate so we are forced into premium buys and second choices, we have known that walker was going since march or April. As I predicted, our best stars will get picked off and then when a premium job becomes available, Poch and team will go too, leaving us back at square one. Only positive will be, there won't be much debt!
Lévy - your only way now is to pull off two or three big names, not young no-names!

I hear your frustrations Nobby. I'm with you. In the back of my mind I'm thinking the club know we need to sign, but who that maybe is beyond me. I've said it before I think we'll sign Barkley. But we need more than just that. Hoddle hit the nail on the head on Sunday it's make or break pretty much at Spurs right now. We can show our ambitions or just fall back down the PL at a rapid pace. The squad needs enhancing we all know that. What f##king winds me up is the sissoko buy. Who made that decision for 30m.

2.) 09 Aug 2017 17:59:52
Hoodle was spot on and if ENIC can't afford it then sell. This myth that the first 11 can't be improved at a reasonable price, who believes that. The wage structure that makes us such average payers, yet when it comes to chairman wages we pay the 2nd highest in the league. The only grain of hope is that money isn't being spent because behind the scenes the club is being sold. #ENICOUT.

3.) 09 Aug 2017 18:51:42
WHY aren't you paying scouts?!?!? Ours don't go further than Southampton ;)

4.) 09 Aug 2017 22:49:54
Chill out lads and Lucas you always pop up now and again with these doom posts. Who have we missed out on, name some players yhat we should of got? Its not as easy as some think. Yes its frustrating and illogical to leave it soo late but its a crazy market. To say ENIC out is a joke.

None of us know what has gone on, what offers we have made and been rejected. I said a while ago we were in for Renato Sanches and Douglas Costa. Lots of teams would be in for them, we just don't know.

5.) 10 Aug 2017 01:26:50
Isco, Lemar, Kovacic, Ihanacho. Its a crazy market for everyone. Daniel takes the big TV money and the crazy Walker money, but when it comes to spending the crazy money we receive its the usual "we can't get anyone", "we don't want to upset the first eleven", absolute nonsense. You can't afford it, sell. Respect to Danny Rose for saying how it is, he's not a Levy puppet.

6.) 10 Aug 2017 07:45:52
Ellis. Firstly I'm not a Levy hater. But always leaving it to the last minute is not the way to do business.

I was reading an article the other day. There are a number of Chairman who can't be bothered with Levy's haggling and shocking valuations of players. This could work against us. Hence we are very slow on signings. I know money talks but due to the TV deals other clubs can offer what we offer in this day and age. Look at Watford yesterday. Bang business done. Move on. Discussions with our realistic targets should have been done months ago.

7.) 10 Aug 2017 10:50:37
Agree Dr, Watford brought in Andre gray for 15 million who would have been a great buy for spurs.

8.) 10 Aug 2017 14:59:24
Raver, Gray cost 18.5m and isn't worth half of that we have dodged a bullet with him, hughly overrated IMO, but spot on that all other clubs seem to identify a player and bang the deal is done. We seem to identify, haggle the price delay a decision, papers get hold of it someine else comes in and the deal is done in a matter of days.

03 Aug 2017 09:59:45
With all the previous experience of recent transfer windows, you would not believe that we could make such a pigs ear of It!
Whilst I appreciate that we can't compeat with the big 5 or 6 on spending power and wages, we are becoming a laughing stock.
It simply seems like we are the last kid to be selected for the school football team, we wait whilst everyone selects who they want and then we can rummage around to see who is left for us to buy.
Also previous tactics used to squeeze every penny out of each sale, whilst trying to under pay for every purchase are coming back to bite us! Depressed!

1.) 03 Aug 2017 23:06:10
The problem we've got nobby imois that we've got such a strong first eleven it's going to be very hard to find someone good enough to get into the team add the fact were not one of the highest payers in wages were going to struggle but 3 descent squad players plus lamela coming back and maybe marcus Edwards and one other getting promoedti first team squad we Will be more than fine COYS.

2.) 04 Aug 2017 06:03:18
If you've got such a strong first 11 how come they haven't won anything?

3.) 05 Aug 2017 00:26:23
We won the battle for champions league. See us spurs fans are realistic and don't punch above our weight. We are happy with what we are doing and can see a future not just living on the past!

4.) 05 Aug 2017 08:45:31
Gunnerbod, Wenger has been telling everyone for years that finishing in the top 4 is the same as winning a trophy.

25 Jul 2017 07:06:24
For fun, between the optimists and pessimists amongst you, I think with wembley, squad size and competitors investment against our own - that we will finish 5th, what your thoughts - higher or lower?
Man C
Chelski
Liverpool
Utd
Spurs
Everton
Gooners
Thoughts please?
Nobby.

1.) 25 Jul 2017 09:48:53
Chelsea spurs Manchester United Liverpool Arsenal West ham. that's my top 6 nobby and there is always one suprise team to get relegated and I'm going for stoke. I would also rather keep sissoko and lamela than sending them out on loan this season especially lamela who missed all last season and is now fully fit.

2.) 25 Jul 2017 10:12:21
You can tell I was absolutely smashed last night I've completely forgotten about man city lol.

3.) 25 Jul 2017 11:44:57
I think we are going to struggle at Wembley this year. that's just my honest opinion

Man City
Man UTD
Chelsea
Liverpool
Arsenal
Spurs
Everton.

4.) 25 Jul 2017 13:50:53
I think we might just squeak into the CL, I'm going:

Man City
Man Utd
Chelski
Tottenham
Liverpool
Everton
The Arse.

5.) 25 Jul 2017 22:36:35
Man City
Chelsea
Arsenal
Spurs
Man U
Liverpool.

6.) 25 Jul 2017 22:45:19
Arsenal 7th LMAO 😂.

7.) 26 Jul 2017 10:21:23
Top 4 will be City, United, Chelsee Spurs, not sure what order.

Liverpool and Arsenal to finish 5th and 6th with Everton possibly challenging them,

{Ed025's Note - dont bank on spurs being there AJH, they were a bit of an unknown quantity last season and had a leicester-esque rise last year which will be hard to maintain mate..

8.) 26 Jul 2017 11:04:10
Ed, worst comment you have made. We have been knocking on the champions league door for a few years and the squad is not to different from when Leicester won the league and we finished 3rd, last season we finished 2nd . How is that an unknown.

{Ed025's Note - i like the way spurs play dal but everyone is taking you serious now mate, and with CL football as well as playing at wembley i think top 4 could be a big ask, a few incomings are needed as well as i think your squad is a bit thin but thats just my opinion of course..

9.) 26 Jul 2017 11:37:12
I agree playing at Wembley is not going to be good for us and the squad is thin, but unknown I'm not sure 🤔.

10.) 26 Jul 2017 11:39:19
Yeah i laughed at Arsenal 7th, very generous. I would say 9th.

11.) 26 Jul 2017 11:42:50
Now i know why Liverpool fans call Everton fans 'Bitters'.

12.) 26 Jul 2017 16:11:14
I may have been over optimistic, I am assuming Spurs will get involved in transfers, if not, then it may be a challenging year.

19 Jul 2017 06:57:34
In my opinion, we are 'lost at sea' every target is slipping away, if the latest reports are correct - Foyth has gone elsewhere! Barkley is the only real target as it seems to be a match, but we are having to pay far too much (for a player with a year left on the contract) and his wage demands. I personnaly don't think he's anything other than a squad player.
As I have said before, our wage structure is holding us back, levy will not deviate from his path of paying off the debt in double quick time. Our ONLY hope is a sugar daddy investor. Otherwise within a year all the family silver will go! Nobby.

Nobby63

1.) 19 Jul 2017 10:06:40
Nobby I agree with what your saying, but don't you think that footballers earn astronomical amounts of money, and to a certain extent Levy is right not wanting to get into the realms of paying absurd amounts of money to prima-donnas and money mercenaries. How can anyone need £250,000p/ w to live on its stupid, FIFA/ UEFA need to step in and cap wages NOW, how long will it be before we have a £1m p/ w player. The figures are crazy and only getting worse.

Kane our top earner earns a rumoured £120k p/ w and he is currently one of the best strikers around. Look at the like of Wilfred Zaha (£125k p/ w) , Javier Hernandez (£145k p/ w) , Harry Macguire (£100k p/ w) and all the others to many to mention who earn in well in excess of this amount. All players want hundreds of thousands of pounds and frankly most of them are just not worth it. It makes signing players at value for money very difficult, you cannot blame Levy for that, however as a fan I would like to see him be a little more flexible and speculate to accumalate. I do not want to see a sugar daddy at my beloved club, if that happens and we start winning trophies, we will be no better than Chelsea and Man City, and the majority of Spurs fans have all slated them about their brought success.

2.) 19 Jul 2017 11:27:52
Footballers are no different to us thfc, if you were working at a factory and the factory across the road will pay you a lot more you would quit straight away for the extra money. It's like saying to the raver do you want to give up Stringfellows for the playboy mansion, I would be ditching old peter straight away.

3.) 19 Jul 2017 11:47:21
Regarding the obscene amount of money that is thrown around on crazy transfer fees for average players and the madness of their weekly wages it has to stop, but probably won't, Alan sugar saved us from going into oblivion years ago but then refused to pay anywhere near top wages and so we had a well run club that had average teams for years, what do we do smash the wage structure and go for broke literally because our expensive ticket prices will be even higher it's a catch 22 situation in my humble opinion, regarding Ross Barkley BBC saying he wants150 thousand a week to join us, lol that ain't going to happen in a million years iftrue not worth 60 grand a week, vastly overated COYS.

30 Jun 2017 10:49:44
Fellow Spurs fans (my opinion) for what it's worth!
Before you all jump you on my back, I have supported spurs for 50 years and I'm not a levy hater. He's done wonders to keep the club in the running against the big boys and big budgets. Having said that, until the stadium is paid off we won't be competing for renouned signings, our policy will be development players. There will be no big signings, they (our targets) will fall away one by one, the only likely (big) signing Lemar will join our rivals (in another statement of power by them) . We will pick up the few but don't hold your breath, nothing that will excite you!
We will struggle with a small squad, champions league football and Wembley next season finishing outside the top 5 and no cups to boot.
We face years of mediocrity with our top players either being tempted away by big wages and more ambitious clubs, HK will probably stay, but Deli with be prized away but it will take 100m+ which in the longer run will speed up the paying off of the stadium. Our only chance is a sugar daddy which to be honest must be a realistic bet, JL wants out, we have a superb training facility, a ground on the way, lots of talent, a great manager (who sadly could leave, if things don't change) we must be well placed for some rich play boy with a few billion to play with - where are you?!?!
I hope all the best Bové is wrong, but I fear not - comments and thoughts please!

1.) 30 Jun 2017 13:57:21
Nobby fantastic post by you mate and I fully agree with you, I think spurs will continue to upset the other clubs as pochetinho is a brilliant coach and gets 100 per cent out of his players hence why we were unbeaten all season at home last year. I am crying out for man city or Chelsea type of owners who will take us to the next level, just to think roman abramovic wanted to take over spurs before Chelsea we would have been in a much better place today. I also agree once this huge stadium is built with this massive fan base we have and in London we will have a lot of big investors ready to take over this sleeping giant.

2.) 30 Jun 2017 20:11:38
That's a top post that Nobby.

The way football has gone now. We need to take that next jump. Levy has done a great job. But to get to that next level as you say we need a billionaire. I'm not in the know. But there has to be someone taking an interest.! surely.

3.) 01 Jul 2017 09:50:36
Why do you need a billionaire, arsenal haven't had a sugar daddy pump money into the club and we can pay top wages and attract top players, raver any club abramovic would of taken would be in a better position now, hardly bragging rights is it, I am a fan who doesn't want the game ruined by money but unfortunately it is!

4.) 01 Jul 2017 15:25:37
Wodbod your club has spent millions the last few years. Ozil 45 mill, Sanchez 35 mill, xhaka 35 mill, nustafi 25 mill and are now buying lacazzette for 50 mill and you couldn't even finish in the top 4.

5.) 01 Jul 2017 19:51:41
That's my point raver, Arsenal have money to spend without a sugar daddy and spurs should look at Arsenal structure and do the same, we might of not finished in the top 4 but we won another trophy. That's what a successful club does not a circus club like Chelsea and Man City!

6.) 01 Jul 2017 20:41:56
Oddbod, ignore the fact your wage bill is almost twice as much as spurs why don't you? What is your structure? Spurs have a better training facilities, a better stadium and better players. Not spending your money very wisely are you?

7.) 01 Jul 2017 22:25:28
A better stadium? Jokers on here.

8.) 01 Jul 2017 23:46:32
Dags white harte lane half smashed up still makes more noise than the aeroplane stadium, we. Are building the biggest and best ground in London for the first football club to do it all.

9.) 02 Jul 2017 00:22:07
Raver,
We did it 10 years ago. Even West Ham are in front of you in terms of a new stadium.

How can you brag about having the best stadium when it's not even built?

10.) 01 Jul 2017 23:54:32
A better stadium coming i meant, The Emirates is miles better than Wembley isn't it Dags?

11.) 02 Jul 2017 01:30:25
Ellis,
So you are now bragging about Wembley?
You do realise it's the national stadium and you are only using it for next season?

It's like getting a rental car and bragging about it to people who drive nice cars.
Errr hello, it's not yours it's a rental.

Come on Ellis. Be serious mate.

12.) 02 Jul 2017 11:21:51
I knew you would bring cars and jealousy into the conversation dags, everytime I mention me and the Subaru you lot always get cranky and jealous with the raver.

13.) 02 Jul 2017 13:21:53
i have to say lads the new stadium is looking the business, if it even has half the atmosphere as celtic park you'll have the best atmosphere in the epl, i wish we played spurs, arsenal, united, city every week instead of motherwell, ross county and kilmarnock, oh well lads i can only dream lol.

14.) 02 Jul 2017 13:23:03
Ellis, once again that is my point Arsenal can pay fantastic wages to attract top players by the way our club is run without a sugar daddy, what part of that don't you understand? If you say spurs have a better structure than Arsenal who was the last world class player you brought in his prime then? You can't afford to pay your best defender more than £50k and contract talks have been stalled!

15.) 02 Jul 2017 13:26:03
Our new stadium will be much better than spurs it probably won't be built for another 100 years but If your bragging about a stadium not built yet then so can we.

16.) 02 Jul 2017 17:10:44
Wodbod what class players have you been buying lately, mustafi lol, xhaka lol, holding lol. I wouldn't hardly call them world class, you have bought one class player in Sanchez and he was keeping his bum warm at Barcelona and if you mention ozil then I will just sing we've got ali dele ali.

17.) 02 Jul 2017 21:22:43
Sanchez, chech, ozil etc! You can sing we've got Ali as much as you like, but what has he achieved compared to ozil? You can't compare the two players!

18.) 02 Jul 2017 22:35:40
Chech if he gets any older he'll be walking around London with the Chelsea pensioners lol, ozil in my eyes is utter crap who was waved off from real Madrid and is not even in dele ali league. Yes ozil has won 2 Mickey mouse cups but is playing Thursday night football says it all.

19.) 03 Jul 2017 11:24:41
Fa cup a Mickey Mouse cup, LMAO. only a spurs fan would say that, look what Ozil has won in his career, Ali could only dream of being as successful as Ozil!

20.) 03 Jul 2017 23:29:58
Darren Fletcher, John O'shea have won the Champions League what's your point Oddbod? Alli is much better than bog eyes.

21.) 04 Jul 2017 10:14:11
If Ali is much better than Ozil he won't be at spurs for long that's a fact, as you can't match his wages demands or his ambition!

I don't agre with most things that the oracle writes but (sadly) he's right! I think with the lsck of investment, Wembley pitch and a thin squad (+ potential injuries) we will be lucky to finish 6th. Almost certainly no cup or CL football for the first year in our new stadium. The only positive is that we are likely (either by transfer dealings or club sale) to be debt free relatively quickly, then hopefully we can become a force.
I doubt (for most of us 50 somethings) we will see success in the next 10 years!
Sadly Nobby.
