dortmund have bid 17m euros for Bernard. bye bye
shorty

Believable8 Unbelievable15

That story has been doing the rounds since we were first linked with him. We also sold gareth bale for 90 million, singed snidjer in jaunary oh and we singed damiao every transfer window for the past 3 years.

Agree14 Disagree4

The boys the real deal, and in terms of how good he will be he's worth £20mill all day long. He is left sided so would that mean bale gets sold? Or Bernard on the wing an bale playing just off the striker?

Agree5 Disagree8

So Mr I knows what's best but will f**k it up anyway Levy, are we going to put in a bid or what? Or are we going to sit with our finger up our a**e as usual!

Agree11 Disagree5

Davo, you are the original mr angry.
Your posts really are full of intellect aren't they.

Agree8 Disagree3

Save the intellect for work! Use this lovely banter site to clear my mind, and express my views only, on what I think is happening to treasured team!

Agree4 Disagree3

Y do people slate levy, he always backs the manager spends millions but wisely and gets a return,
He didn't last summer because of Harry leaving and I don't believe he bought a striker in jan because rather already sorted!

Agree7 Disagree7

Teabag, Miniero just announced it today.

Agree1 Disagree5

Damaio is clearly available its down to levy to sort it or wether he's got someone better in mind. sure he will perform better than adebayor haha

Agree5 Disagree6

Spend wisely we spend more than most teams and still can't break into the top four! We've spent more than the scum!

Agree3 Disagree6

Davo, we'll probably make the same mistake we did with Oscar and dilly dally on making a move. We shouldn't forget that we have townsend and Falque that are exciting wide players so signing Bernard won't be top of Levys list.

Gabriel.

Agree6 Disagree5

^^^^Arsenal have always had the same philosophy at the club which has managed to get then top 4 every year. Now that Avb has arrived there's no denying the players look a closer bunch and the football seems more
organised then it was under Harry. With a few AVB signings we could finaly topple the Arse-Anals.

Gabriel.

Agree10 Disagree4

Bernard is a good player but does not worth 17m euros. Using as measure of comparision, Wellington Nem was by far a better player in his last 2 seasons in Brazil and got sold for 9m euros to Shakthar.

Brazilian Yid

Agree5 Disagree6

Interesting observations from someone who would appear to actually be in brazil perhaps.

Agree1 Disagree1

Good comment about Brazillian people post but a player is worth what a club are prepared to pay ie is bale worth 80/100million? He is if Madrid think he is.
So Dortmund have offered 17million euro for Bernard, so if levy thinks he is worth it, he will pay it.

Agree2 Disagree3

That is always true. might explain why we don't sign too many "big" name players. our valuations are more realistic compared to the risk.

Is there much truth in the Bernard rumour? I hope so because he's such a talent, creative attacking player

Believable9 Unbelievable2

Yeah I would say its true.
Which means the chavs will nick in and sign him anytime soon by offering stupid wages and a nice warm bench to sit on.

Agree8 Disagree2

Bernard and Gomez please mr levy! Although if past windows are anything to go by we will be getting Stephen Carr and Darren bent!

Agree7 Disagree7

Supposedly he's off to Dortmund, leaving us with the household name Kacanaklic. Fabulous.

According to reports -

Tottenham battle Dortmund for Brazilian wonderkid Bernard and also line up move for Fulham's Kacaniklic.

Knowing our esteemed leader, which do you think will happen? Answer - neither. Levy won't spent the money needed to get Bernard so that only leaves Kacaniklic. I can see it now. Headlines at 10:59pm on the 31st August will read Tottenham agree deal with Fulham for £2m plus Tommy the Hudd, but Huddlestone fails medical again as window "slams shut!" Levy spouts his trusted "I tried" routine and we get midfield injuries during first few games costing us precious dropped points against west ham or Sunderland etc.

Your thoughts please.

Flippit

Believable16 Unbelievable1

So true flippit, are you sure this hasn't happened before?
Come the last day, it will be the same b/s that we have had season after season!
Just for once it would be nice to tie up our targets ( realistic ones is all we can hope for ) before the ref blows his whistle for the kick off in our first match!

Agree6 Disagree1

There won't be any deadline deals. Business will commence from july onwards. AVB is manager and baldini technical director they aren't going to mess about with last minute signings unless forced to. Tottenham aren't in champions league so will be better if we sign players a. s. a. p before other teams do. We will leave deadline day for Qpr.

Agree3 Disagree4

You hope! A leopard never changes it spots, nor will levy!
Last minute, bargain basement buys and loads of excuses again!

Agree9 Disagree1

Hopefully avb can unearth some gems on cheap, I have serious doubt whenever I see us being linked to 20 or 30m players, not going to happen

Agree2 Disagree0

We have to spend big this season. we need a new LB, cm, a wing forward and two new strikers. levys tightness has to stop. LEDLEY SHERINGHAM

Agree2 Disagree1

Davo, having someone to blame is easy and you think your comments are going to get spurs anywhere? You say you support Tottenham? Well Tottenham consists of the people at the very top all the way down to the ball boys. Like everyone your opinion is as welcome as the next person but the way you bang on over and over makes you sound like a preacher. Shoving it down people's throats until you get some followers.

Yes Levy has made mistakes, but what has he done to improve us? We are a genuine top 6 club now, thanks to Levy. We are looking at a new stadium in the not to distant future, which thanks to his business smarts seems like it won't do much damage to us financially. He made a very bold move in replacing a loved, fan favourite in 'arry for a manager I see as the best manager we have had since the Epl started.

Your right though he should do as you say, let's buy another Bent. I'm sure there's a few Bentlys left for us to waste our money on. He may have cost us but think about what he may have saved us by not buying any man and his dog just to please the fans.

This is not a personal attack just hoping you might change the record based on this comment because seriously the song is getting well out dated.

Many thanks!

Agree2 Disagree5

Davo, believe me, all will change in a few weeks time. Baldini and AvB know exactly who they're after. All in good time my friend. all in good time.

Gabriel.

Agree2 Disagree1

IMO, jury still out on AVB; he had a very small squad to play with and usually not much choice about who played where. Bale ended up roaming around up-top almost permanently as much because we had no strikers as anything else i'm sure. I like what I've seen, after the initial slow start we seemed to get it together. We did drop ridiculous points to two of the relegated teams and the Liverpool loss was criminal (and the manner of Everton away).
Away record finally something to be pleased about but, as usual with Spurs, they find a way to drop more at home to beatable sides instead!
Levy; we've been burnt by Bent, Bentley even Pavlyuchenko so right to be guarded about going nuts. The ultimate reason for our falling short for two years now has been transfer failings and not having quite enough to get us over the line, two Januarys passed to see mid-season that needed to be rectified as well. If we do not bring in a quality striker and creative midfielder/attacker at least then we/he will have done it yet again. Europa league will kill us yet again if we don't have a bigger squad or just use kids for it.
Let's see.

Many thanks, ( strange name but then so is Davo )
Yes, levy has done a lot for my beloved team, but his refusal to speculate has cost us CL the last two seasons! We only needed a top notch striker and that would have made the difference! We don't need him to pay over the odds, there are good players waiting to be found, Michu, Bentenke, for the right price!
As for these being only my comments, I think quite a few people have expressed their feelings about his royal tightness, last season, the season before, and funnily enough, on this page in the last week! let's be grateful we have a banter site to express our thoughts, rather than it being done from the terraces! Final thing, I was grateful when he got rid of Arry, and I believe we potentially have one of the best in the PL now.

Agree2 Disagree1

Davo, first off much respect for not taking my comments the wrong way as I seriously mean no offence in my comments.
That being said I do think you still need to look at the bigger picture. Yes Levy could've signed another striker I don't disagree with this but how many of us knew Benteke and Michu would be such a big hit? If we had signed either people would've moaned it was a typical levy purchase, bargin bin! So I don't think they would've fallen into the category of "top notch".
So next option would've been to sign a big name or a young promising striker, so for example Ade or Postiga. Now Ade didn't do it so big name equals massive fail. Postiga didn't live up to expectations so again massive fail. So if you consider that neither player would propel us into cl then what option did we have? IMO it was to play some of the young promising strikers we already have, which we chose not to for whatever reason.

Next point you mention is about it only being your opinion, which is not what I said but maybe I wasn't clear enough. My point was that you go on about it repeatedly and feels to me like you want people to follow this notion that Levy is to blame even though it's not necessarily the case. (AVB is to blame for not giving our younger strikers a chance, not even on the bench, strange).

The 'Arry situation was a great move like I stated but you can't deny the general feeling was that AVB was a huge risk so like I said before, a very bold move by Levy.

All that said though I do understand your frustration with Levy but think you need to consider the whole picture. Spending money would not have garenteed us cl by any means, maybe just meant we had another 3/4 players on our books sucking up there wages till they can leave on a free.

Many thanks (not a name just a sign off, your comment made me chuckle though)

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe Levy brought in AVB partly as he's more of a yes-man than Harry and needed a route back into management so wasn't going to demand a big transfer fund? He had a good record with potential before the poisoned Chelski chalice so, he probably got him on the relative cheap as well? Those are the kind of balanced 'risks' that levy will be prepared to take.
