There are rumours that we have offered sigurdson + cash for vorm and Davies

I think it has been rejected but if this is true does this mean that we are planning for life after lloris

I know we need a backup keeper but can't see vorm moving to be a backup

Believable1 Unbelievable13

Wether we go for Vorm or not (I really like the idea of getting him) We won't sell Hugo this season unless silly money if offered. M.Vorm is a quality back up as Brad is too old to challenge! and another Gk I would consider as back up would be Casper Schmeichal! But prefer Vorm!

Agree6 Disagree2

I would love ed 001 to say that a deal is agreed for davies but I might wait a while for that! Vorn and siggy is just lazy journalism as far as I'm concerned, makes the deal more exciting to te reader. Tim krul is our backup if lloris leaves.

I posted Vorm was in negotiations on 17th June, just a lucky guess again I suppose.

Lloris will join PSG if they pay through the nose. Vorm may join even if Lloris stays.

Davies is possible if Swansea retract toher greed and honour the initial agreement of £8m.

Agree13 Disagree7

Sorry Oracle but a lazy journo has said Spurs want Vorm, bit different from him being in negotiations with the club! Like Damio, once again you will be proved wrong!

Eds do you know if the Dawson to hull transfer is a goer, or is he going to dig his heels in like he did a couple of seasons ago when he should of gone to QPR? I also think Lovren and Lallana are massively overpriced and overrated and the club will not miss them. However this summer is huge for Daniel Levy and it will prove if he just wants to make money from the club or get top 4 for the club. Rumours that the Ben Davies deal is off and although there are supposedly other options this scenario has a familiar theme about it. Would it really be a surprise if Rose, Dawson, Naughton and Townsend are in the starting 11 next season, and then on August 31st the club announce we tried to buy a new lb or cb but we ran out of time. If anything like this happens and we get stuck with these players for another season this will be mis management on a level the same as when Harry wanted a new striker for two transfer windows and he eventually got given Louis Saha. There will be no excuses this time and all roads will lead to Daniel Levy.

{Ed002's Note - Dawson to Hull is certainly possible.}

rose will go if we get a new lb if daws go we will get a cb it will be a surprise if we sell naughts or townsend, naughton prob won't go as is a squad player townsend won't go and why should he, he is young and upcomimg and has a bright future

Agree3 Disagree5

Thanks ed 002. Paul1982 its not acceptable to say if we get a new lb or if we get a new cb. These positions are critical and have to be addressed, without fail. Townsend should leave as he thinks he is Gareth Bale, and in the 25 odd games he played last season his contribution as a winger was 0 assists and 1 goal (an over hit cross), those stats are a disgrace for a club vying for top 4. This club needs a change of mentality and selling the worst of a bad bunch (Rose, Dawson, Naughton, Townsends and Kane) this will be a start. If we keep these players we might as well of kept Sherwood and gone with his philosophy and one man crusade of developing average english players just because they played for him at youth level.

lucas lb is critical and I agree rose needs to go and we need a first class lb, at cb we have verts, chirhes, kaboul so if daws goes which looks likely whoever comes in will be young and cheapish and 3rd or 4th choice cb, naughton is 2nd choice to walker, who is goona come in and be happy to sit on the bench not goona get much better and when naughton was played at rb and not lb he was not 2 bad for a 2nd choice player, townsend is young has lots to learn let poch try and work with him for a season he has already said he needs to muture and perform better, kane is not good enough yet but can improve but again unless we sell ade or solado who is goona come in and hardly play and sit on the bench like naughts, I think we need a lb and left winger/ left forward and replace daws, don't forget levy spent over 100 mill last year and is not renound for being a big spender anyway. what do you thing eds?

Agree2 Disagree4

Good post Lucas! Apart from Daws, who age has caught up with, the others aren't fit to wear the Spurs shirt!
Rose, not bad going forward but defends like a 2 year old on speed
Naughton, looks brilliant, when he is sat in the dressing room
Kane, have promised no more comments ( shame )
Townsend, not sure what foot he likes best but shouldn't bother with either! Should be named, can't cross, won't cross, as he can't and never does! Until his injury, was the only winger in the PL who didn't know where the corner flag was and had no assists to his name!
Daws, a really great servant for us but not top ten standard any more . If you won points for bravery, loyalness and trying your hardest, we would have won the league by September with him in the team . I know Rose, Townsend and Kane are young players with time on their side, and that Mopo gets the best out of youngsters, but they have to have something there to start with!

Agree4 Disagree6

I don't want to party poop in this view but you're missing something. Each club in the premier league needs to have a certain amount of homegrown players. Granted the players you mentioned aren't the best in the world but Kane for example has bags of potential. If you want to sell all of our English players who do you replace them with? Academy graduates?

Agree1 Disagree3

Sorry, but Kane has bags of potential?
Yes we do need a certain amount of homegrown players, but do we need to fill the squad with Average players just to fill this quota? As for Naughton not being to bad when played at RB, what games were you watching?

Agree3 Disagree4

Ben davies is a step in the right direction, homegrown and with potential. Davo let me ask you this question, was it down to chance that Kane scored some pretty decent goals when given the chance by dim tim? Everyone has to start somewhere. It reminds me of what the German manager has said: discouraging english academy players is one reason why the league, and consequently the England national team, is in a mess. Yes Kane isn't a name that excites you but neither was modric or bale. Who had heard of rickie lambert a few years ago?

Agree4 Disagree5

Got to laugh at the negative comments about TS but he had the best win % of any manager we have had and yet he inherited the squad given by Baldini (God I Hate Baldini). In a few years to come, I reckon TS will do well as a manager!

Agree4 Disagree5

Paul1982 with cb I would think Kaboul will be leaving as well. If he does not leave they might as well promote Milos Veljkovic. The problem with Rose and Townsend is they are 24 and 23, they have had their chance and shown that their level is fighting relegation or championship not fighting top 4. Davo was right they are not fit to wear the shirt, and you can't flog a dead horse just because it is english. Spursredeemer with regards to homegrown rules, now is the time to give Coulibaly or Coulthrist a chance ahead of Kane. The scouts should be out unearthing the next batch of english potential as the current ones are tried tested and have failed, just a poor generation. Even if all players mentioned did leave we should still be able to hit the quota.

Agree2 Disagree3

How about falque and cristian ceballos, I wonder whether poch will promote them or send them on another loan, I heard they were quite good, Pritchard and bentaleb showed the most promise last season in my opinion luke

Agree1 Disagree3

Redeemer, a couple of points! Yep Kane scored a couple of decent goals and guess what, he missed about another 100 easy chances! I am not saying he isn't a good player, but not good enough for a club with top 4 hopes . It was only TS being stubborn, liking headless runaround players and trying to prove a point that he didn't like star players he got into the team anyway . Be honest, could you see any of the top six finishers making an offer for him? As for Modric and Bale, both were good players when they arrived at the lane but took time to settle, just like Soldado and Lamela will show this year! Next you will be saying we should play Obika alongside Kane, because we need our numbers up! I am all for giving our young players a chance, Coulibilly, Pritchard even veljkovic but to carry on flogging the same dead horses, that's foolish!

Agree2 Disagree2

Blimey davo, is obika still with us, he's worse than soldado. The alternative is to raid the big clubs for their deadwood, like arsenal. Do you think we should do that? It seems to work well for them.

Agree0 Disagree2

I don't know, and wouldn't want to be a manager! I know we need a bloody good LB, a new CB, and replace Kane or Ade up front! I would let Paulinho go as he slows us down to much as well!

Agree1 Disagree1

Soldado, lukaku and ade as back up would suit me fine. I would take boateng from bayern munich for CB personally, then hector Moreno in the future as backup if kaboul leaves. I would still like the idea of Rodriguez or Moreno maybe at left back, but knowing levy we will get Davies and lascelles as a centre back. (I know, I hadn't heard of them either. )
