If Modric goes to Man Utd, it can only be in return for Carrick, Berbatov and £25million. We get a great passer of the ball in midfield, a classy footballing forward who will still score goals if he plays and £25million to do the Damaio deal plus nice change leftover. Yes I know they're ex players but both were quality for us and still have been for Man Utd, we got over £50million for the pair so can't feel hard done by.

I heard a rumour at the start of this seaons that Thudd's injury was a career threatening problem. Having seen him miss the whole season it worries me but, if he is to return fit then we would have two great footballers in him and Carrick and two good holding/work their socks off players in Parker and Sandro for the centre of midfield. I'd also go for Dembele as well.

Got to be realistic, we aren't going to be signing any superstar midfielders and the Damaio deal would be our biggest but even he's somewhat of a gamble despite looking quality. {Ed004's Note - I can't see Carrick moving. Fergie said something about him playing a massive role next year and I doubt you would get anything more than 20 million with those two players...}

Believable2 Unbelievable9

The right word was ' were ' ! Berb maybe , but Carrick no thanks . Too slow and not consistent enough , bit like square ball wilkins !!
Davo

Agree2 Disagree2

Dont want either berb or carrick chaps you are all going backwards and not forwards ... new signings new signings we've had the old guard now lets have the new guard all the names mentioned on here are very goog players bar some so levy ya tight git spend SOME MONEY
and then we will sea if harry and the buys we make have been worth the wait

Agree4 Disagree1

No way would i accept carrick and berbatov back at the lane..berbatovs had better days and even though hes still capable he maid his bed years ago and carricks awfull.he was decent wen he wa younger...but im not sure wot ferguson seen in him for this long.huddleston, livermore, snado and parker r all better centre mids then him

Believable1 Unbelievable10

Lies! Foster plays for Newcastle, he just went on loan to celtic

Spurs Lad

Agree1 Disagree3

Sorry Spurs Lad... As rubbish as the above rumour is... He means Jamie Forrest... Defo a Celtic player...

Agree4 Disagree0

He said forrest the young winger not the goalkeeper from newcastle lol

Agree3 Disagree0

MY BAD read it wrong

Spurs Lad

Agree0 Disagree0

He's on about Forrest, their young right winger of whom is very good

James_THFC

Agree2 Disagree0

I work in a restraunt, and had a couple of Celtic fans in over the last few months and they have also said that it is common knowledge in scotland that spurs are after Jamie Forrester, and he is ment to be a very good talent. {Ed007's Note - His name is James Forrest.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I would defo take james forrest..he looks decent and harry could help him become great..has all the showings of a great talent

What are peoples view on pienaar and how much we will get for him.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Sell sell sell he has always been a everton player never done well for us and then when he goes back on loan suddenly he is doing well. Just shows you who he really wants to play for. I reckon 6/7 million as thats what Levy will want.

Agree8 Disagree0

Sell him

Agree4 Disagree0

We should defo sell him.not suited to our style of play but is a quality player in a everton shirt..probs get about 5/6 mil for him but everton wont pay more then 2/3 mil.i recon he will leave england

Agree4 Disagree1

Id let him go for right price but knowing levy he will probably ask For 8ml & Everton wouldn't pay that but the likes of qpr, reading, sunderland more than likely would.
if pienarr only wants to go to Everton I'd do a swap for seamus Coleman could b good competition for walker benny & lennon, I cant see Baines going anywhere but one of Manchester clubs if he was to move.

Leandro Damião to Spurs?

Leandro Damiao's agents have claimed that Arsenal and Tottenham have both lodged offers for the Brazilian.
(...)
"Now Damiao has important requests: there is a good offer of Tottenham, one from Arsenal and even some Spanish clubs are sounding out Internacional," the spokesman said.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

FFS dnt we have 1st pick on his club if this is true (wake up tottenham)

Agree3 Disagree0

Buy him now !!

Agree5 Disagree0

The guys class get him now

ou812

Agree4 Disagree0

This is the guy we should be making our top target.Flog all or release the deadwood ,trim the squad ,use the younger guys in the thursday cup and get this guy and a couple of others for the league.Looks a top player.

Agree3 Disagree0

We will not sign leandro bloody damio.
We could of get him in the last 3 windows.
We are not big enough for him now.
To many big boys looking at him.
Forget him at spurs.
Even the likes of huntellar and giroud won't sign.
Ade, again, is the best we can get.
I'm amazed vertonghen still wants us but, the way he has acted, he will be a future spur captain and spurs legend but I still se DL feckin that deal too

Agree1 Disagree7

Internacional now want £28m, Levy wont pay that I hope its not a disappointing transfer window as usual for spurs. Its becoming all to familiar being linked with stars and other clubs acting on it and getting the deal done. We could have had Damaio two years ago the price was reputed to be £12m all good in hind sight but would Levy ever stop being such a stinge and make a move

Sébastien Bassong wants to change to Monaco

Sébastien Bassong is a target for Monaco and the defender is keen to leave Tottenham Hotspur to revive his career at the French club. Lokomotiv Moscow and Rubin Kazan have also shown an interest in Bassong.

Monaco have recruited Claudio Ranieri as their manager, at great cost, and they plan big-name signings as they seek promotion from Ligue 2 and a return to former glories.
LiamsBiz

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Get rid of him ! He never gets first team football so why dont we cash in on him and use that money to get Damiao

Agree4 Disagree0

Why they want Bassong then?!!

Agree1 Disagree0

Bassong needs o go for his own good.onnc saw flashes of a good defender but then for some reason he whent of the rails and has looked rubbish..get 5 mill at least for him

Agree3 Disagree0

Deal or no deal.Deal dam you and get rid we don't need him.Trim the squad and get Vertoghen ,Damiou and Johnson(city) with Ade aswell.

Niko Kranjcar to Dynamo Kyiv?

Tottenham midfielder Niko Kranjcar has revealed he is set to join Ukrainian side Dynamo Kiev after Euro 2012.

However, any deal is unlikely to be completed until after the European Championship, with Kranjcar poised to head to Poland and Ukraine with the Croatia national team this week.

"The two clubs have reached an agreement, there are just a few minor details to be sorted out and I am still to define my personal terms," Kranjcar told Sportske Novosti.

"I will let my agent handle it as I am now completely focused on playing for the national team in Euro 2012."

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Get him out of WHL he doesnt start much and wants to leave. Cash in on him quick then buy an amazing striker like Damiao

Agree3 Disagree0

I do Agree That we need to get rid of a few fringe players but i am kind of worried by the lack of depth our squad has .we need to buy a few players as it is,never mind replacing the replacement lol

Agree1 Disagree0

Sell him and get Johnson with the money or get a loan and get Ade bought as part of the deal.We take Ade for bout 8ml and get johnson on loan for the season.

Apparently Man U are Preparing an offer of 38m for Bale.

Believable2 Unbelievable9

Key Word there 'Apparently'. Not going to happen, they are going in for Modric not Bale

Spurs Lad

Agree2 Disagree3

Not enough money 38m got to go higher than that at least 50m but as spurs fan manu can get lost need to build not sell

Agree3 Disagree0

Are they paying in instalments this being the first payment.

Agree2 Disagree2

I'm a gooner,, but give me a chance before flying off the handle as i have a genuine question! Why did Redknapp not see that it didn't work with Bale moving more centrally second half of last season? That seemed a tactical move that derailed your season far more than the talk of Harry for England. Bale's by a giant leap at his best going down the outside of defenders, not cutting inside, so when Lennon got injured, why did Bale get compromised with his position?

Are you looking for a coaching job?

Hey Ed
any truth in the rumor that spurs are interested in Hugo Lloris? {Ed001's Note - I am told there is interest there, he was looked at last season, I assume to replace Friedel, as he certainly wouldn't join to be a back up.}

Believable8 Unbelievable1

I think we should get Lloris

Agree8 Disagree1

I dont think lloris is the right option. sign a proven premier league keeper e.g krul, vorm. allthough lloris looks good gomes was known as one of the best keepers in the world before joining us but couldnt cope with the premier league same could happen with lloris would much rather us spend big money and take a risk on a striker like daimio or huuntelaar

Agree2 Disagree6

That would be a great signing

Agree4 Disagree1

Gomes one of the best in the world :/ he was on the outskirts of the brazil squad and played well in a weaker league. Proven premier league goalkeepers, vorm had an okay season, not enough. Lloris is awesome keeper better than vorm, gomes and freidel. Ter stegan all day.

Spurs have now agreed Vertonghen, Damiao & Foster and are literally finalising the detail before the 1st July Window.
Sadly the interest in Modric is growing and Man United pressure has been intense to get their main transfer target. Whilst Levy is reluctant to sell, the board have agreed a £43m release trigger. In addition a list of potential replacements have been drawn up with Martinez, Valbuena, Badelj, Erikson, Dembele and Afellay. All these players have be scouted extensively in the last few months but approaches to establish the best deal will now be instigated.

I personally would have loved Erikson, but after the Vertonghen deal I would be amazed if his price doesn't deter most clubs. Martinez is an obvious choice and with the transfer kitty swelled by any Modric exit there could be enough to buy two players to deepen our squad depth for next season. One thing is certain Spurs are going to be in a win / win situation and should Man Utd put up the cash then expect the flood gates to open on our transfer targets.

The Oracle

Believable7 Unbelievable6

July 1st, are you sure? Judging by your history we will see. One things for sure, it will eiher show that you actual are in the know and will be the day of your redemption or you will be 0 for 7 (Cahill, Stadium, Hazard,Damiao - twice, vertongen and foster)

We've been here before haven't we. Time will tell. Tick tock.

Agree3 Disagree3

Not a spurs fan but a big Ajax fan, Vertonghan is probs going to be signing of summer. he was average at LB v England but a sa CB the bloke is immense.

real quality signing u guys have picked up,

Agree10 Disagree1

I do hope your right Oracle regarding your first part. Regarding Modric, I believe that if we sign enough quality players and let go of the deadwood then he will stay.

Regarding the £43m for Modric release clause, that will go up if he has a good Euro's.

As always IN LEVY WE TRUST.

The Rabbit {Ed004's Note - I am sorry but I honestly can't see Manutd spending 43 million on Modric...}

Agree2 Disagree2

Part exchange for Nani?

Agree0 Disagree5

Sounds all to good to be true, I hope your right. As regards Modric the 43 million price tag is crazy

Agree1 Disagree2

Oracle ur full of rubbish.as good as those players are and i would love them in a lillywhites shirt..but your constantly on hear chatting utter rubbish..need to get a job or a hobbie mate

Agree1 Disagree2

I have to laugh at the negativity of the replies. Suggestions my transfer posts are all wrong are preposterous. Let's detail a few things I posted;

1. Olympic Stadium - This was a signed and stamped deal and I was telling you in detail it was all going to get reversed. The usual deluded comments and abuse followed until it was reversed. When we eventually move there you will all be eating humble pie, and begin to understand the power of illusion that the press provide.

2. I gave you Van Der Vaart and was told I was barmy until the great silence when he signed a week later.

3. I gave you Adebayor and was told that I must be smoking something as he was a Gooner and mercenary on £180k which was outside our budget. I explained that he would sign and we would pay £70k and you all laughed.

4. I gave you Gary Cahill who was so close to signing it was untrue. Suddenly even the press eventually linked him many weeks later and suddenly your moods change. Then Chelsea Gazumping us in the 11th hour and blow our offer out of the window. I explained Gascoigne verbally agreed to sign for Man Utd and was 50 miles from the ground before receiving a call from Spurs who offered his dad a new house and he turned around and came to sign at White Hart Lane. Sometimes even the most guaranteed things can go wrong.

4. I gave you Berbatov months before we signed him and people jibed who !!

5. I gave you Bale a week before the press and you abused me telling me we would pay that sort of fee for a kid. Well we did and he is worth a load more now.

6. I gave you Damiao who looked certain to sign in January but with Van Der Vaart playing behind the front man, it was deemed the urgency was not immediate. Also Internacional wanted to keep changing the goal posts, and Levy was angry that our business partner was stalling and discussions led to an agreement for him to sign in July. Well between December and now I have continued this theme and been told I was wrong because he was signing for almost every other major club in Europe. Well very soon you will see him at White Hart Lane and eat your words.

Then I gave you Vertonghen way before the hype and some said who whilst others just disagreed for the sake of it. Rest assured he has signed and will join us in the window.

I gave you Ben Foster and half of you abused me telling me he was crap. Well I think your wrong and you will soon see how bad he is when he joins our squad. There is also interest to sign a first choice keeper, but it seems our options of Lloris or Krul are fading a little. Redknapp wants Green to understudy with Friedel.

I gave you Jack Butland and 90% laughed and told me he wax unproven and as likely to sign as Messi. Well he is so unproven that he has made the England squad and I am confident can become our Joe Hart if we can get him in before others realise how good be is.

Lastly I gave you a transfer out in Modric, and I quoted the agreed minimum fee of £43m. I agree that Man Utd are unlikely to stump up that in cash, but do not rule out a player + cash settlement.

So before you throw your abuse again try to be a little more balanced. I am a loyal Spurs supporter and want the best for our club. Sorry if I offended anyone with my style, I was just trying to report the facts in my possession.

ED you are doing a great job and will be very busy in the next few weeks.

Come on you Spurs

I remember bugger all from you about Ade and what wages he would come on
Cahill ----- you got it wrong who cares if it was stolen last minute .... Theres no proof
In our eyes it's wrong just like Damiao for 3 windows ....
We shall not not be eating humble pie from you .... And you will never desist or apologise for the rubbish you post as you will claim it WAS all going through but oh no last minute one of the players gold fish died and he went to its funeral and is in to bad of a place mentally to want to change environments .......

Ive been on this site for ages now and oracle has been full of rubbish ever since..he either tells us the obviouse or he tells us tripe he gets out of the paper..u never said anything about raf and u doubted the adebayor signing wen i posted it..remember that?bet u dont !

For those who ask who I am well let's just say I am not quite Daniel Levy !

Now let the transfers do the talking and let's enjoy a new improved team next year.

Lastly and most importantly our prayers are with Jermaine Defoe and his family. I hope he will bounce back and provide the spearhead to catapult England to glory.

Just read that Moussa Sissoko is on the verge of a transfer to Roma for around 7m. Why are we not all over this? Quality box to box young midfielder. Would be a great addition to our squad. It's deals like this that get me frustrated. If its true then we have truly missed out on a bargain buy. We missed out on Mexes last summer on a free. Missed out on Pjanic for 10m, and Stekklenberg for a good price cause we didn't make approaches for these players. If we wanna be a top team, we need to sign top players instead of letting them fall by the wayside. Bring in verthogen, sakho and/or Richards. Sell Modric for 40+ and bring in afalley. Jefferson Farfan would be a great right winger. And 2 strikers, preferably adebayor and a younger squad player that can come off the bench and chip in here and there. And for Christ sakes give Gio a chance! GEEZ!!

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Sell modric and bring in afalley? they play diffrent positions if we do sell modric we would have to bring in another cm and theres no way mousssa sissoko could replace him. sissokos a good player and allthough modric hasnt had the best year he is still world class .

Agree3 Disagree1

I really like Moussa Sissokho but I think I'd rather we went for Etienne Capoue, he plays deeper but has great distribution and I think with the likes of Vertonghen who looks like he'll be finalised soon and Hudd back then having players with a real range of passing from deep we would have the players that can get he likes of Bale and Lennon attacking very quickly before defences get really organised.

Moussa though is a very good player, strong, pretty tall and poweful and loves to drive through midfield

Agree0 Disagree0

Dembele is the man to replace Modric

Agree1 Disagree1

I dont know if it would be possible with our budget but i dont see why people want modric gone? if we could bring in vertoglen dembele to give modric and vdv a challenge for there postions as he could play in either role and bring in a top quality striker we could be looking at a top 3 finish next season. modric may not have had a great season but look at him the season before he was a diffrent class and still this season made the second most passes in the premier league with a pass completion rate of 89%. get someone in to put a but of pressure on him and we will see the old world class modric back.
