Sky Sports understands Manchester United defender Ezekiel Fryers has agreed a deal to join Tottenham.
Sky Sports revealed back in April that Tottenham were leading the chase for Fryers after he turned down a new deal at Old Trafford.
Fryers' contract expired earlier this summer and United boss Sir Alex Ferguson admitted earlier this week he was in the dark over the player's future
The 19-year-old, who has come through the youth ranks at United, made six first-team appearances for the Red Devils last season, making his full debut in the Carling Cup win over Leeds.
Tottenham are thought to be long-term admirers of Fryers with his versatility in being able to play left-back or centre-back making him an attractive proposition.
New Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has given the go-ahead to push through the move and Fryers is expected to become the latest new face at White Hart Lane.
Fryers is believed to have agreed a four-year deal at Tottenham and is expected to finalise the move in the next few days.
United will be due a compensation fee for Fryers and, if they are unable to agree a deal with Spurs, the move could go to a transfer tribunal to decide the fee for the player's switch to North London.

United fan here. We don't really care about Fryers. We have got Blackett coming through and he's already at a near enough standard to Fryers. Also the compensation we are getting for him, is more than we would have got for selling him.

Dear Mr Man Utd Fan
Your response tickled me when you compared Blackett with Fryers. If you really knew more about your talent you would know that Fryers was being primed to replace Evra and Blackett has shown literally nothing of any note.
On your compensation proclaimation I wanted you to look back to the Bostock situation. He was touted as the next big thing and everyone wanted him at the time. A tribunal declared that Tottenham would pay £700,000 for Bostock, with add-on payments of up to £1.25m dependent on appearances and a further £200,000 should he make his full international debut. A sell-on clause entitles Crystal Palace to 15% of any profit Tottenham makes from any future sale of Bostock's contract. In summary you will get about £3 million for Fryers and for a player that looks as good as Walker on the other flank, I think Sir Alex knows he has made a serious misjudgement.

Oh it is funny. "as good as Walker" that did make me laugh, if he was that good he would have replaced Evra during his awful season...but he didn't. The fact that Blackett replaced Fryers in the reserve team last season shows Blacketts quality. Apart from a few exceptions you are hardly the best team at bringing the youth through, as shown by players like Bostock and Dos Santos.

Actually Blackett is two years younger than Zeki and was keeping Zeki out of the team. Zeki is a decent player and you have got a bargain. Shame he wasn't a right back as the manager wouldn't have let him go then.

Lets look at the following headlines that are on the subject of OSCAR.
1) Oscar says no to Tottenham
2) Oscar not keen on Spurs switch
3) Another Brazilian dismisses Tottenham talk
All the above are negative but after reading the articles nowhere has Oscar said he didn't want the move as Follows
1) Tottenham contacted my agent," Oscar told Brazilian website Lancenet. "I do not know if there was an official proposal, you'll have to ask my manager or the president."
2) I am thinking only of Internacional, I don’t think I’m leaving, I’ve received no offers.
Neither of these reports and others state that he doesn't want a move both says he has not received an offer so until an offer is made officially to his club and it is accepted no decision can be made it is the same for Diamo from the same club and now Ganso is being mentioned so tomorrow we will possibly see the same headline another Brazilian rejects Spurs why don't they wait till an official offer has been placed before writing such dribble, but headlines sell news and someone has to start rumours don't they

More lazy work from the d/m.
apparantly we are interested in lassano diarra[r/madrid].
that i very much doubt, hes 29 so will have limited sell on value,a defensive midfielder, with an ego bigger than john terrys.
rules him out on 3 counts in my book.
plus hes no better than what we already have!

Quite frankly I think him and kaboul at the back would be a quality partnership. Dawson injured, king retiring, Gallas soon to be off I thing vert and kaboul would be a great signing. Ajax are denying that he's entitled to 15% of any fee. That's what's holding the deal up.

The Mirror reported that Ganso is a possible target for AVB. I think he would be great signing, maybe better than Oscar or Damiao. I don't have much faith in the Mirror's speculation, Ed, has there been anything confirmation that Ganso is a solid target? {Ed001's Note - not a thing, just speculation because his club have made it known he is available.}

Ganso isnt willing to renew his contract with Santos, he wants more money. I dont see him being negotiated this window, maybe it'll happen in the summer(end of the brazilian League).
Anyway i dont think he's a good player for us, Oscar fits better in AVB's way of play.
Ganso can make quality passes but isnt a good marker and is very slow.

Spurs are apparently lining up a bid for Hulk. I wondered if we would now that we have AVB, but he always seemed out of our price range before.
Levy might actually be looking to spend a bit of money this season, so who knows what could happen!

Fryers will probably develop into a decent replacement for Ekotto. Luckily United are blessed in the LB department (youth-wise) with Blackett (18) who kept Fryers out of the reserve team. So the manager would not have mind letting Zeki go.

BAE was fairly poor for us until the 2010-11 season where he significantly improved. I think he was our most improved player of the season, despite losing his place (initially through injury) to Bale. However this season his form slipped badly, especially towards the end of the season, and I personally feel that it is correlated to the length of his hair.
Overall he is a good player, but I feel that having some challenge from a good young player will keep him at his best. As he states himself he only considers football a job, and it is natural that anyone who gets too comfortable will start to lose their edge.
As for the comment about Kaboul, he overall is a good player but has some significant problems that are regularly being exploited by the opposition. His lack of positional sense often allows the ball to be played behind him, and he has a particular vulnerability to being dragged out of a back line by a striker dropping deep (see the Nasri goal vs Man City for a perfect example of this).
My main criticism of our defence last year was in allowing Kaboul to play on the right of the centre back pairing. Walker is a good player, but his inexperience at top level has led to some very poor positioning. He will improve this as he matures, but it is often only his blistering pace that lets him off the hook from bad starting positions. Someone with better positioning than Kaboul should be playing just inside him to plug the gap, with Kaboul moving to the left side.
Wulf.

Kabouls right dooted so makes sense for him 2 play right sided center back and BEA was never replace by bale last season...bales been left wing 4 about 2 and a half seasons now...are center back problems came from injured or ageing defenders not kabouls positioning mate...as for ur essay not need really

Fryers set to sign for Spurs. Caulker extending deal aswell as Bale surely it's on the up atm! Oscar admitting spurs are interested so he could possibly sign aswell as Dzagoev and maybe Damiao rumour is we have £100m to spend! Get rid of jenas gomes bentley etc etc and bring in some youngsters! Offload modric and that could land us a player aswell as cash!
Thoughts?
