It is being rumoured we have offered £11mil for DAMAIO.
If this is true, then we deserve to lose him as a possibility.
It is annoying me now that this man is on a plate for us, even his agent had just flown in and levy still pssin around with a stupidly cheap offer.
Offer the 20 or 25 levy. Get it done.
This bloke is gonna be a superstar, worth a fortune

That was my reaction as well to hearing we may have bid 11mil for damiao (although I wouldn't quite go as far as bidding 25mil for him) but I suppose you never really know what is going on and I'm sure Levy is just trying to get the best price he can.
I'm getting quite nervous waiting for some signings to come through (I think we need a 2 or 3) however the two signings we have made were not villas-boas's. I'm sure villas-boas would have had transfer targets coming into the job and I don't think he would have taken the job if he wasn't going to be allowed to spend at least a little bit of money so surely we will make a few.
Living in hope!

£25 million? Isnt that what Madrid offered for Modric, the truth is a club like Spurs cant sign top players until it sells top players, this due to the fact they dont have the financial backing like City or Chelski.

C'mon Mr. Levy, up your offer to sensible level so we can get this done sooner rather than later. The team need to be integrated and firing on all cylinders before we play the barcodes.

We need to face up to the striker market being what it is. Unfortunately, anybody who's top class and established is in the £35m bracket or just unavailable anyway. Also unfortunate is the next tier of potential and mostly unproven at any level like the English Prem is still £20-25m. From that point of view, Damaio would be £18-19m at the cheapest surely? Especially as thry've just got £25m for Oscar. After that I don't know who else and we really need him AND Ade! Pav then Saha did not give us enough last season, we need two decent strikers or will struggle.

Sorry.....I posted originally......I meant 20 to 25 mill euros as has been quoted.

Tell u what i think we just need one big striker. if we have that one for now we still have Defoe obv kane still dont think is good enough yet but i think playing Gio and Coulibaly could be smart. that lad is big strong and can bag a goal. hes waht 18 now? Look at the likes or Rooney etc. just need faith put on them and time on pitch and they can show their wortg.
big star in our ranks there!

Apparently, being reported, ade is close again.

Remember this time last summer, everyone wanted us to play Kane. The worst thing we can do with these players is play them too early. Look how Wenger treated the Ox

An interview with AVB saying that he wants to buy a striker but will make sure it's the right guy. I was skeptical when we first appointed him but he is saying all the right things so far. Lets hope we get a quality striker in before kick off. Happy days. COYS

Was thinking exactly the same thing. As long as they are actively pursuing and he said he didn't want to make an expensive mistake so reading between the lines they could be willing to splash the cash

I'm a little concerned over this cause the signing we've made so far are not AVB signing. Meaning gylfi and Jan would've been signed if Harry had stayed anyways. I truly hope he gives Dos Santos a fair chance. But we need signing and we need them yesterday!

Imagine that he is a great manager now because he said he wants to sign the right guy,you spurs fans r funny.Tommy Irish Red.

Its going to be akward for spurs to sign any strikers whilst olympics is still on. i am sure there must be 1 or 2 strikers we are keeping an eye on and maybe even a goalkeeper who are participating at the olympics . I would of next week we will step it up or this weekend
Agree1

^^^^ hard because the Olympics is on ! Have you ever heard so much twaddle? Yeah it has a massive impact on transfers , just ask Oscar ! And all our other supposed targets are in the Olympics aren't they.... And please don't mention Damiano you fool!

So what happens if we don't get a quality striker, is he really happy with just JD and Harry Kane, we have to get another striker, we really have to get two

I'm sure Adebayor will still sign. He wants to leave on a free and use the 4mil we agreed to help with his wages. Damiao will join most likely for a fee around 25mil if Levy haggles.

I'd love to see a front three of Bale, Ade and Damiao...that'd be lethal...
Doubt it'll happen though.

Yeah, it would be great but the way things are going I'm not sure we are going to make a big signing. I was confident at the start of the window but I don't think it will happen now

Same old spurs. So much promise but again failing to deliver. We need 3 - 4 players and we would mount a serious title challenge. Yet again levy and co make us look mediocre and sound like that mob from east London who claim to be in for everyone signature. Very disgruntled to saythe least.
Agree7

Levy and co dont make us look mediocre, the sad truth is that Spurs ARE a mediocre club, just a bunch of wannabees.

4th, CL quarter finals & 5th, 4th, in the most competitive league in the world....mediocre? you really should be supporting another team.
we will sign another striker, FACT, and maybe ade when he realises its a choice between dissappearing into the abyss for a year or lowering his wage demands to match his true worth.
peace.

^^ obvious gooner. Just have a look at all your "star players" and "talismans" you sold over the past few years and tell me what clubs going in the right direction

Could be other md,s are copying levy over pricing there players and refusing to budge on the fee
Agree1

Sorry shadders but 4th last season should have been 3rd. Minimum. With a quality signing or 2 we could have really made a serious challenge. But they revert to type by signing free agents no better than what we had. They need to make a serious statement and buy big now whilst we still have the likes of Bale, vdv, vertonghen etc.

It really annoys me spurs fans thinking we should be able to snap up 4 players in a week , we have made 3'2 great signings and yes we need a striker but it's not that easy ! As for comparing us to west ham they ate linked with players yes but Carroll , Collins we so do not need that class of player but if it makes you happy we are linked to players I hear we are after djimi traore and grant holt

Anyone else think the modric situation may actually be putting players off signing for us??

No as we are trying to build a team so if he stays or goes it doesnt matter ..... still need these strikes so levy pull ya finger out as its getting close to kick off .. and i agree with i other poster lets give the kids a chance

Damiao in the week for 25m. Just watch.
Sturridge in the next 2 weeks for £10m.
Going with instinct and a few rumours hear and there. Strong links aswell. Let's hope COYS

Chelsea will not sell Sturridge. With Lukaku most likely going on loan that would leave us with just Torres. Even if we bought another cover we would still be short so it won't happen.
