Hi eds, I'm hearing spurs have made a bid for Antoine Griezmann and that the Ben Davies deal is off, any truth in either of those rumours? Thanks for the great work your doing, much appreciated.

Once again Levy is F*****g about! If Shaw was worth £30 mill, then pay £12 mill for Davies and stop pissing other chairmen off!
So this is what our transfer window is going to be like again with Levy, big money for the crap we need to get rid of, offer crap Money for the players we desperately need! At least three seasons now, our left backs have been rubbish!

Couldn't agree more davo, let's just hope it's a negotiation tactic as Ed said.

Spot on Davo,if we want to improve the squad Levy must start to splash the cash.

Same old davo.
How many times have we missed out on players due to delays and levy dragging his heals for the sake of a mil or 2.
Every chairman in the world knows him by now that tactic dnt work no more as there is a lot of money now in football.
Hold on is not baldini the guy that buys players now?
Or is he the smoke screen for levy

10-12m for a young LB with 2 years proven premier league experience is hardly splashing the cash. It seems to me like a wise investment in a position we have been noticeably devoid of talent in for a while now.

We live in hope COYS

Ben Davies is hardly a world class LB unless you want to tell me otherwise. More importantly Levy made a very reasonable offer of £8m and this was accepted and then reneged upon by the Swansea board. I would say it is perfectly reasonable to stick to what was agreed, and there is also a precedent being set as Vorm is also on the radar.

After seeing Vertonghen at LB throughout this World Cup, I have to say I like the thought of him with a Fryers as his understudy. Rose and BAE could be sold to strengthen at CB where we need a leader like Lovren.

Ben Davies isn't world class but anything is better than Danny Rosè, Vertonghen has clearly stated that his preferred position is at centre back, moving him to left back would make him less motivated if that's even possible. Fryers I agree could be a talent but I suspect he may go out on loan to build experience exactly as walker did at Villa leaving us with Rosè as back up as well as Naughton who will return to his favoured position of right back.

Is levy waiting to sign players until our new kit is released? Seems to happen most years, so it should be mid July before any deals are confirmed.

10-12m doesn't buy you world class any longer in case it hadn't been noticed. Verts will not be happy at LB and Fryers looked more comfortable at CB. I agree Verts looked going in the World Cup playing LB but I don't believe he wants to be there permanently.

Oracle, please go back to your school books . Shaw going for that ridiculous amount set the tone, no way is Shaw 3 times the player that Davies is . Here is a very good left back, with PL experience, for a very reasonable price . As for Levy agreeing a price, its not nice being f****d over, is it Daniel?
Also Boracle, name me two better left backs in the PL?

Cesar Azpilacueta, Keiren Gibbs, Kolarov.

Azpillicueta is a right back predominantly, Gibbs, are you joking but Kolarov I'd agree with, there isn't many better in the premier league who are young and have experience, Ben Davies would be the best acquisition for us in my opinion

Any possibility of him ed008?

That is two, I agree! Baines and Kolorov, neither would be less than £20 mill

And Baines looked nothing like world class in Brazil.

What's wrong with Gibbs? He didn't look that bad last season. Anyway at this rate davies isn't happening until September.

I would put Kolarov, Gibbs, Shaw, Baines, Cole, Evra, Santon, Enrique and Clichy all ahead of Davies.

Sure he has scope to improve but has not shown he is worth that sort of money. You talk about £12m like it is peanuts, and suggest you cannot get a world class player for that money at LB.

Danny Blind, Bruno Martins Indi or any host of other proven internationals would be better solutions in my opinion.

Ben may prove me wrong, but I think Fryers has more going for him if you compare them objectively.

The fact you would put Saton, Enrique and Clichy proves that sit all day staring into space oracle!

Who is santon?

Oracle do you mean proven internationals like Soldado, Capoue, Paulinho, Vlad, Lamela, Chadli and Holtby?

The fact Spursredeemer doesn't even know who Santon is enough for me. Probably the most under-rated LB in the Premiership and someone we should be focussing on buying.

As for you Yellowcard, do you think last season is a fair benchmark for writing off players? I thought Paulinho was played in a holding role when he is a box to box player, Chadli showed glimpses of the talent he is in part but roles, Lamela had a back injury all season and needs more time to adjust, Soldado was played without support in an alien role to him, Capoue played 4th fiddle behind Bentaleeb, Chiriches looked good at times albeit never given a chance to form a partnership due to injuries and Holtby was the best player at Fulham albeit not too hard.

Let's see of those that survive how bad they are. Just remember Bale when Redknapp nearly flogged him, next season will be interesting.

My point is Oracle that proven internationals are not sure to adapt to the PL. As good as Blind looks, Davies is less of a risk, also maybe less of an upside but only time will prove that. And I doubt that Blind will be picked up for 10m now. There is value, especially for us given the number of proven internationals we are all holding our breath for, to acquire some players with proven PL experience.

At the end of the day, Davies is a better player than Blind, with PL experience! Much more solid in defence, and just as good when going forward . Ask LVG, who know thinks that Davies would be good cover for Shaw . Hopefully, Davies will realise he is too good for that!
