Cheers Azza, lets hope for a proper Tottenham style transfer window, the last couple have been pathetic tbh. Cavani or Damiao and Shiquiri or Dembele will do it for me and if we are going for a centerback make it Samba and not Cahill. Cahill is no better than Dawson so whats the point.

we're not likely to be signing any major stars without CL football and/or selling first. Basically, we increased our revenue by 36% (44m) as a result of the CL involvement, balancing our books and negating the need to do so by profiting by selling players. This was not the case last year
We still need to trim our squad and get rid of the overpaid squad players like Pav, GDS and Bassong -- Bentley and Jenas are too much to hope for --and it's imperative that we qualify for the CL again this year.

I agree that Cahill is completely overrated. Every time I watch him he is poor, poor aerially and poor positioning. I'd take Samba in a heartbeat. Exactly what we need. Can't see us making a really big signing name signing tbh but we live in hope. COYS

Looking at our financial statements, from 2006/7 through 2009/10, our operating LOSSES before player sales were 9.5/19.7/16.8/7.2m respectively - a loss even in our CL season. Our wage bill and expenses have increased dramatically - 24m in 2009/10 although this might be partly due to performance bonuses.

Bear in mind that Citeh are subsidizing our wages to the tune of 5.2m (100K per week on Ade). I can only imagine that our losses were significantly higher in 2010/11 with reduced revenue. Not an accountant but I reckon that we're still selling before buying and then only modestly.

I know our CB's are a bit injury prone , but do we need another one . I have never been a Kaboul fan but this season he is proving me wrong , we also have Daws , Ledley and Gallas . Samba , I would love to see at The Lane . We definately need another left back for cover and a CF that hit the target with a better ratio than our present forwards . Which CF would be best for us ??

Exactly mate, i'm just glad Owen Coyle came out yesterday and said he will only be moving to chelsea. What a relief that was lol.

Kaboul, King, Dawson, Gallas, Bassong, Khumalo and Caulker are our CB's. Gallas is on his last legs and Bassong looks likely to leave unfortunately. Despite what people think of Bassong, he was in a team that had the most clean sheets and helped us qualify for the Champions league. He has been very unlucky.
I haven't really seen much of Khumalo to be honest but Caulker has really impressed me.

Samba may be signed as experience because King can't play every game and Gallas is on his way. I wouldn't mind Samba but i'd prefer Jan Vertonghen.

Guv,

What ITK do you have for us?

Bassong is awful,dawson a carthorse.kaboul and king are the 2 centre halves that gives the team stability,just a shame led wont be ready for many games,so with gallas out,lets get samba!

I am an accountant and the thing you need to consider is that football clubs are not run like businesses. Take a look at the statements of united city Chelsea? I assure you that more teams in the world are making losses! And

You must remember profit can be manipulated!! The losses are actually more than likely bigger than reported.

Basically I wouldn't worry about spurs finances from what I hear..... There sound {Ed007's Note - An accountant that can't spell 'they're'? I don't usually entertain slagging spelling but come on mate......}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed that's a little below the belt. I can spell they're but when typing on a train about to get off your a little rushed! But do you see my point? {Ed001's Note - no, Spurs are very much run as a business, United are very much run as a business. Even City are run as a business, as an ailing business in need of massive investment to get it going. Surely as an accountant you would understand that concept? I fail to understand how you can say the losses are likely to be bigger than reported and then say not to worry about it!}

Ive big news guys, i get told hardly anything, usually just hings to do with youth, but a representative from ourselves went over to spain midweek, was in the stands in the madrid match, to watch kaka, we were in talks in the summer, but were back in for him, but apparently a**eholes still have an interest so thats the downside, but madrid apparently are willing to agree a fee, and were willing to stump up, im sooo happy

Eh i would like this to be true but in all honesty i dont think spurs would need to send a scout over to Madrid to watch him considering sky sports air every real Madrid game live lol

Agree5 Disagree3

To be fair you can't fully scout someone on TV, when clubs send a scout to watch a player they watch only that player for 90 mins (or however long they're on). You can learn a lot about a player by watching him when the ball isn't near him (movement, workrate, positioning etc.)

Loads her about Kaka but is it true. Ed or anyone else , this site should be for reliable info/gossip or sources. So is it actually true? {Ed001's Note - the only players I am sure of Spurs interest in are Hoilett and Cahill, that interest is very real. No idea why the interest in Hoilett though, I don't get that one, unless the intention is to shift Bale back to left back again? Not heard about Kaka, but it would be the kind of signing Harry would love. As for Damiao, I am told the reason he never signed in the past was purely down to a 3rd party ownership issue. That doesn't seem to have been solved, so his move is likely to be somewhere on the continent, where 3rd party ownership is still allowed.}

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Leandro's third part ownership was supposedly resolved when the club got him to extend his contract, so there should be no issues there. The problem is Internacional are looking for best price so want to see what bids are made before agreeing anything. There's no pre agreement. Another option if that doesn't happen is Alvaro Negredo and it might just work out with Seville's interest in Dos Santos, but Leandro is still the preferred target according to things i've heard

Agree2 Disagree2

Ed - I would imagine hoilet is not planned to be a starter, but to keep some pace in the team if lennon/bale or both are injured. Bought to be a sqaud player
