Clint dempsey number 2? according to the website lol i know numbers dont matter much but hes in the strikers section on the website yea would think they give him the number 9 or even 14 that its vacant but 2 ha thats a strange one

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lets be realistic top 4 is out of the question this season. Too many dropped points against mediocre teams already, meaning we have to claw these back against the top teams and we know our record is poor against those. We are behind AVB, it just doesn't give you much confidence seeing the baffling decisions in the last 2 games. Time and patience is not required to resolve making those negative changes, that was just footballing management suicide and man looking out of his depth.

Agree8 Disagree10

Hmmmm maybe number 9 is being saved for someone special (not "that" special, oracle calm down) but perhaps avb does have another out and out striker in mind what do you think ed

Agree1 Disagree3

God, give me a rope for Christ sake.
Jeez.......come on....we have played 3 games.
We are 5 points off 4th.
Barring kaboul, we will have a full squad to pick from after the international break.
Like Ramos, we have to give AVB 8 games at least.
Football and football fans are so fickle, you can get booed one week, then, beat arsenal the next week and he is a hero.
Weneed to bed the team in.
We need ade in, lloris in, dempsey and drmbele in.
In know brad did well against Norwich but lloris is our future. He needs to play now so get a feel of the prem before the pressure gets too much if AVB foes continue to stuff up.
The way some if you are talking, it is though our world is over. We have played 3 games.
Give the man a chance.

Agree13 Disagree4

Sorry, thats bull! We are only three games into the season ferchrissakes!!
Look, whatever your point of view, this is a marathon and not a sprint. ALL clubs will drop points this season, Utd were dropping them all over the place last season and the Gooners had a terrible first half of the season.......both ended up finishing above us. Lets not forget our collapse in form in the latter half of last season too, we still finished fourth.
Hey, things are pretty sh*t at the mo but there is a LONG way to go!
Super Y*d

Agree7 Disagree4

Dempsey is number 2 because his rap name is deuce. I kid you not

Agree9 Disagree1

Top 4 is nowhere near out of the question. Not only are we only 3 games into the season (as rightly pointed out above) but also our competitors are not doing that well either.

I like to track teams vs their performance last year in order to give projected final positions (as the order you play teams in matters). I substitute the 3 relegated teams on a 1 for 1 basis with the promoted teams (17th in prem for 1st in championship etc).

On this basis spurs are 2 points worse off than last year (-1 vs Newc, -2 vs WBA, +1 vs Norwich).

Arsenal are also 2 points worse off than last year (-2 vs Sunderland, others the same)

Newcastle are having a worse time than us and are 3 points behind last season (+2 vs us, -3 vs Chelsea, -2 vs Villa)

Chelsea are having the best start of the 4, with +5 pts (+2 vs Wigan, +3 vs Newcastle).

If all other results are the same that puts:
3rd - Chelsea 69pts
4th - Arsenal 68pts
5th - Spurs 67pts
6th Newcastle 62pts

(although much of that is due to Chelsea and Newcastle having played)

So yes it's not an ideal start, but it's a long way from "no chance".

Wulf.

Agree4 Disagree1

All these questions on the no9 shirt, my theory is it will be Rossi signing in January he will be back playing by then and hopefully proven his fitness

Agree1 Disagree1

I like the above post (about comparing teams performance to last season) I know that it is just a rough comparison (teams change, games are different and so on..) but it gives me confidence that some fans are still reasonable and don't just jump on this ridiculous "AVB out" and "Levy out" bandwagon. I read a post somewhere below that was saying siggs was rubbish, he is only 22 and played 3 games! Come on, lets get excited about this season!

Agree8 Disagree0

You forget you had already played utd/sh*tty whom are still to come

Agree2 Disagree1

You forgot we lost to utd anyways and had no parker, modric and ade

Agree1 Disagree0

I think you both didn't read the comparison properly.

He has compared matches to the same teams. Eg last season against Norwich, this season against Norwich

Calling all Spurs fans... Please please please get behind AVB and the team! I have my doubts about things however calling for AVB's head is crazy after 3 games!! I am absolutley positive things will improve however if by the end of the year they ain't then fill ya boots!

The negativity around the club at the moment is only going to lead to disaster!

To all those traveling to Reading give AVB a boost and chant his name loud and proud, he is our manager and deserves a chance!!

To all those at the Lane do the same!!

I LOVE MY SPURS NO MATTER WHAT!!

Believable17 Unbelievable3

I dont think people are calling for his head, its nmore of a case of " SORT IT OUT!!!"
If people were that hacked off the stadium will be empty on the next home game......it wont happen tho!
Super Y*d

Agree1 Disagree0

Exactly mate it will only put more pressure on the team and manager in the long run which then will lead to lack of confidence in the team the fans give a team confidence we cant forget so when we cheer the team they play with confidence

Agree6 Disagree0

If it's true AVB wanted Anderson over Dembele the guy needs to get his coat now
ou812

Agree2 Disagree3

Correct me if im wrong but were'nt we bottom of the league after 8 games not that long ago............... 3 games gone and yes only 2 points but with a few new players and new staff it WILL take time to gel together and with EVERYONE getting behind them can help them gel quicker. The last 2 games with have given the lead away late in the game but i can clearly remember us doing this many times last season under Harry as well. To many people are judging AVB from his time at Chavski with didnt work out due to the likes of Terry and co running the team. I will back the team and the staff 100% as its TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FOOTBALL CLUB i love

In Levy I Trust

Agree7 Disagree6

Agree with the posts supporting avb very strongly, I think he is a good manager but even if I didn't you still have to give him and the team time and support.

I our target is fourth this season then who is our competition? I would say (assuming the top 3 are man u, city and Chelsea) liverpool, arsenal and Newcastle.

We are above Liverpool who look to be in a bit of trouble with no big goalscorers at least until January.

Arsenal look a lot weaker without rvp bad song-they do still look a good team but once we are settled I think on paper we are better-they are also only 3 points ahead of us.

As for Newcastle they had a great season last year but I don't see cisse and ba being as good this season and I doubt Ben arfa can carry them into 4th.

I think things are looking a lot better for us than people see to think. Personally I can't wait to see Dempsey, ade and dembele all starting for us a long with the rest of our team!

Agree6 Disagree3

We need to back AVB for now otherwise we may as well forget this season and all that goes with it.
The new players need time but if with 12 games gone and we sit bottom 3 then he must go.
I believe AVB was the wrong appointment he had a great team at Porto ( Hulk,Moutinho,Falcao,Perrira) in a poor league so it did not show great skill to win,and the rest we know.
Already subs/tactics seem odd to say the least .But for now we put our faith in him

BUT IF HE GOES WHAT THEN

Agree4 Disagree3

Ou812 it's obviously not true

Agree0 Disagree1

Here we go again, supporters having doom and gloom stories, and like Harry , talking about top 4 finish. That was one of the main reasons I am happy Harry is out. He continued to build a team of under achivers and supporters have followed suit. I have my issues with AVB as well, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt for now. Unlike many a Spurs fan, I will not join the under achievers lime. Until we are mathematically out of the race, Spurs for the league title (isn't that a top 4 finish?). Gylo

Paper talk today suggests Damiao will be Man Utd bound in January. Well done Levy!

Billy

Believable11 Unbelievable3

I hope Levy has gone before January.

Agree13 Disagree5

Why the negativity towards Levy?
Why would Damiao come to us? No champs league and a strict wage structure. Man Utd can offer him more success and twice the wage - so stop being a dick - it's because of Levy's success some Spurs fans have unrealistic expectations, I bet you were booing on Saturday you person!!

Agree12 Disagree7

They would need to sell Rooney first and I don't see that happening.

Agree4 Disagree2

We have a great squad, it just needs the right man to get them playing & a winning mentality. We are severely underperforming & if we could get the right Manager in for a change this squad should really be competing for the title. We have seen already and last season AVB is clearly out of his depth in the English game, so really need to bring in a suitable replacement to maximise the squads potential.

Agree3 Disagree8

AVB had a list of targets he wanted. Doesn't sound like any of them really materialised so he has to knuckle down and work with what he has now. He wanted all business to be done by the start of the season. He knows what he is doing and knows football inside out. He has a year to prove everyone wrong. His biggest mistake was going to Chelsea when he had a potential Champions League winning side at Porto. Once he has the trust of our players and they all understand the new system, everything will start clicking and we will be pushing top-4 again. PATIENCE PEOPLE!

Agree7 Disagree2

Yeah, let's give him "time".More "time" is just the remedy giving that we last won the league 50 odd years ago.Ok sack him next year if nothing happens (which it will) but we must give the new manager "time".Levy had enough "time" to sign players, but again he f8cked it coz he won't pull up.Get the picture?....P.s What's the time?

Agree7 Disagree2

So someone has spotted the pattern.I wish Levy would.
Davo,where are ya?

Agree4 Disagree0

F!#k Damiao. Bored of it now.

Rufus

Agree4 Disagree0

Those who ask for patience are destined to be mid table fans.

There is no time for patience, every game counts for the title so the guy better get it right and soon. He was brought in because Levy seemed to think he could take us that step further to challenging for the title not struggle to get 4th, so AVB must work some magic and do it now and if he doesn't he goes.

I personally don't think it will work out for him because he didnt get the type of striker he needed and he didnt get moutinho. I hope I am wrong.

Don't care what anyone says but if he thinks he can play jermaine defoe upfront by himself, he's had too much sugar.

Shadders

Agree2 Disagree0

Seriously, if you have that sort of attitude you could go through 38 managers a season. Have a look at how Alex Ferguson got at the start of his man Utd tenure.

The team needs tome to bed in and adjust to the new tactics

Rome wasn't built in day

Agree1 Disagree0

Still here , but working too much and not typing enough ! AVB will do it ( fingers crossed he has learnt something from the first three games ) but Levy , he will never learn ! Its in his blood to be tight , and very bloody minded . He enjoys f***ing people about , thinks he knows a lot more about football fans than he really does , and couldnt give a rubbish what the fans on the terraces really think ! And before you all start , yes he is a good business man who does his best for the club , but now and again he ought to think about the fans , who spend an absolute fortune every week , through thick and thin , following the club . All we have wanted for the last couple of years is a top class CF , a true marquee signing , but thanks to his attitude , penny pinching and stubborness , we still dont have one ! Could he be worried some one at the club could be more important , and have more limelight than him ???
Davo

Agree1 Disagree0

You've had too much sugar if you think we are going for the title. Defoe was upfront cos ade has barely trained or played. What are you hoping for exactly, you want the title this year or will second place do?

Agree0 Disagree0

Why not aim for the title? i dont think we'll get it, i don't even see us getting fourth unless ade gets fit quickly. why make a change if levy didnt think it to be an improvement? i hope its because he planning to challenge for the title or make a good attempt of it or all weve done is waste a year.

shadders

Agree0 Disagree0

We're not gonna win the title or second or come close. We should be fighting with gooners & chavs. Chavs have spent 80m, us and gooners made a profit. Tells all u need to know about ambition of both clubs. If we finish below these bad season. Above one, good season. Above both unbelievable.

Would anyone else think that taking a punt on Drogba would be worth it??

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Lets be realistic... DROGBA WONT JOIN ANY ENGLISH CLUBS...

Haha as if he join Chelsea arch rivals! Keep dreaming

Pinky

200/250k a week no cl football

Agree3 Disagree0

Think u will find drogba will go where ever biggest pay packet is at his age in the game that is why he went where he did spurs wouldn't offer no where near enough in wages so never an option n plus club have not released him or anelka

More details have come out about why the moutino failed, in the 11th hour Porto raised the fee, Levi aggred the fee but in the rush to get the paper work done mistakes where made. We are expected to back in for him in January, hopefully Levi will learn his lesson and get the deal done early.

John

Believable5 Unbelievable7

*Levy.

Agree2 Disagree1

Porto have just sold Hulk for 60m. They do not need to sell Moutinho for the funds and they now need his leadership in the team more. They will only sell for the 40m release clause. Opportunity lost
