Couldn't agree more with the earlier comment. AVB is not using the players or squad correctly. Have we had a decent performance yet if you are honest. We escaped v Utd, Saints, QPR, even Villa if Benteke had scored the chance. Only Reading was convincing but more down to them not playing for weeks. We need to address the real problems - top striker, midfield ball player, and another Van Der Vaart type player behind the striker if we are going to play this system. Friedel must be dropped - just slows everything down and giving hospital passes to our defenders of no value.

There is a lot to say about our 451 formation.... The way I see it working if you have a target man who will get you 20+ goals a season also you need the midfield and winger to chip in to...apart from bale I can't see any one else getting 12 or more goals a season from our midfield... Just a thought what about Defoe playing on the right or left adi up front with even bale playing in the centre.... Ok I'll carry on playing football manager on ps3 lol but I might work... 2nd thought anyone fancy getting Wilcott on a free for or cover for Lennon... He comes with goals and free and would piss the off

I always believed Martinez was the better choice to AVB. I think Saturday proved it. A team that looked organised, disciplined, comfortable in their positions and passed and kept the ball much better and actually looked stronger/fittter. AVB looks totally out of his depth and is so negative. I have not enjoyed a home game this season yet, bar 2nd half v Villa. You can only play his system with the right players. Our midfield gets outpassed and powered. We don't have the strikers, the midfield playmaker or enough quality on the ball. Not sure what he is actually trying to achieve.

You have missed the point. I believe a young manager who learns from his mistakes. Since that result, he has returned three times and mastered two 1 nil victories at what was a fortress Lane -remember with a lesser squad and much smaller budget. AVB repeated his mistakes in the first two home games when leading both. He appears to now be making the same mistakes he did at Chelski. Upsetting the fans with negative football and terrible decisions and upsetting players.
