Some sites are weighing Manu interest in Modric....is there any truth Eds ?? 40m+ ?

spursboy
{Ed008's Note - Just speculation Kagawa is their 1st choice though..

Believable3 Unbelievable1

VDV and Modric are class if they go i fear Spurs are back to square one on the mission of signing other quality players

ou812

Agree12 Disagree3

Agreed. What would be more sickening is if we, yet again, sold our best players to our rivals. What would that say?
FFS, if Modric really wants to go and we are left with little choice but to sell at least take some sort of control and make sure he is flogged abroad.
Super Y*d {Ed008's Note - I don't see any clubs outside Europe paying the that figure above. Only the English clubs...

Agree4 Disagree0

Ed008, I agree with you. I fear that IF he goes, it will be to another Premiership club and that would be a massive kick in the b*lls to every supporter. Obviously if Levy was that kinda guy, he would take less for him to ensure that he DID go abroad but it aint gonna happen!
Never mind..
Super Y*d

Agree2 Disagree1

I for one dont see what the fuss is about if Modric was to leave. He would generate 40million that we could invest in other areas.
For a player in that postion he should be into double figures for goals rather than the 4 he got and correct me if i'm wrong I think he's only got 3 assists.
Look at other players in his postion, Lampard, Gerrard, Silva, Nasri, Ben Arfa even Scholes scored more and more assits than modric.
Be more worried if Bale & Walker was to leave.

Agree3 Disagree0

Madrid were interested weren't they? or perhaps psg, malaga or anzhi would be willing

Agree0 Disagree1

Why do we always seem to focus on the negatives. There is clearly interest in Bale, Modric and Van Der Vaart, but nothing more than press hype fuelled rhetoric regarding actual deals. Daniel Levy has already shown that he will not accept £40m bids for our stars, and everyone says we stole VDV at £8m, so why on earth would we consider a £10m bid for a player that has clearly returned to his top form.

So if we keep all three and add a few more top quality players like Damiao, Vertonghen and Demba Ba everyone will be talking about a title challenge. The worst case scenario is we sell Bale & Modric for £50m each and let VDV join Schalke for £15m. The question is simple, do you think you could improve the team with £115m without those players?

I know our lack of Champions League football would deter the likes of Robben, Hamsik and others of that ilk, but think we could sign players of very similar ability from clubs who are also not in the Champions League.

Lastly and probably most importantly is the fear about selling to other Premiership sides. Well I assume that you mean Chelsea, Man Utd and Man City. If this was to happen there are players like Javier Hernandez, Adam Johnson, Eden Dzeko, Romelu Lukaku and even Nani that all seem surplus to requirements. So with Levy's business prowess I am not worried of any outcome.

The Oracle

Agree9 Disagree2

Well said oracle .....
Guys what's up with the oracle ? Mark down the date ....
He's finally said something sensible

Agree7 Disagree0

Are you still bothering to post your rubbish...?

Agree0 Disagree3

Poor poor spuds its so easy dream of what could have been your players will leave your manager too and the second rate players will soo start arriving

Agree3 Disagree3

Well it doesn't help when some people like you are led astray by numerous posts under my name from imposters. ED is on the case for the umpteenth time, and sure it will get sorted.

The Oracle {Ed007's Note - Sorry mate, that is getting sorted, AGAIN!!}

.....Eds can u plz enlighten me with the situation of Modric and who are his suiters ??

[I am not a spur fan]
{Ed008's Note - With failure to qualify for CL i could see Modric leaving however i see Levy standing firm and rejecting any bids that are made my opinion. Possibly Chelsea and Man Utd if the price is right maybe even Man City.

Has anyone else heard that we may offer Newcastle Kranjcar, in exchange for Ba? Not sure if this would be a good deal or not. Also heard that Harry is likely to sign a new 2 year deal, with the option for a 3rd year before moving upstairs as a director of football.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

From our perspective, it would be a good deal since Niko is determined to leave.

Agree0 Disagree1

We wont need to offer a player because if we meet the release clause (7m) and he wants to come newcastle cant stop him leaving

Agree0 Disagree0

I think newcastle would prefer this supposed 7mil then having krancjar, hes too old for their transfer policy

Agree0 Disagree0

Would rather offer niko for Cabaye if modric is going

Agree0 Disagree0

We can't trigger the £7m release clause as it only relates to teams in the Champions league, shame really.

Agree0 Disagree1

Ba has said he will only leave Newcastle for champions league football...looks like he's off to PSG, IF he can pass a medical??

Agree0 Disagree0

Nico for Cabaye?! I'll have whatever you're on! Cabaye was one of the best CMs in the League last season, even better than Modric imo, no way that's going to happen. Oh and we can't trigger the release clause in Ba's contract. An offer for his release has to come from a CL club and the release clause only applies for the next two months. After that Newcastle can accept any bid they like as the release clause will no longer be valid.

Levy is after AVB

Believable6 Unbelievable10

I do hope so we will defo win with him in charge

Agree4 Disagree5

If we lose Harry, I think this should be the only option. But I still think HR has a mission to prove next season (i.e qualify for Champs Lge/beat Arsenal/silverware). He'll want the FA to think they made the wrong decision.

Agree6 Disagree1

Not impressed by AVB at all, hope he doesn't come our way!
Mo

Agree3 Disagree2

Mo the only thing ABV did wrong was sign for Chelsea .....
He is a superb manager with adequate man management skills ....
But there are too many big egos at Chelsea that knew they would be brushed aside with his policy .....
Lampard ... Terry ... Etc
They made it difficult for him ....
I would love him as our manager
{Ed008's Note - I agree AVB only brings positive football and at Chelsea wasn't given the chance.

Agree6 Disagree1

Are these chelski fans on a wind up. Go from minority incompetent redknapp to the horror show of incompetence that is AVB. God spare us.

Steed

Agree0 Disagree1

Yeah he won the league with Porto but they did have Hulk and Falcao up front and the rest of that league ain't great! Di Matteo didn't do so bad with the same squad that AVB failed with, if he was told to make changes anyone smart would get Terry, Lampard etc on side rather than alienate them!
Mo

Agree1 Disagree1

No, we're not on the wind up. I for one think that in a decidedly non-poisonous atmosphere like spurs avb could do quite well

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that how you repay the Manager that dragged you from mid-table mediocrity to where you are now?

If it wasn't for Fulop having a fit on the last day you would have been third.

How much higher do you think you are capable of going?

Agree3 Disagree1

DEFG is after ABC

Spurs battle it out for FC Sochaux midfielder Marvin Martin, but Lille seem to be in pole position and look set to dish out a fee of up to £10 million for the frenchman. Totenham are said to be also interested in targeting the injured Barcelona playmaker Ibrahim Afellay as the Dutchman seems a closer fit to the leaving Luka Modric.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Afellay is nothing like Luka as a player

Agree4 Disagree0

Marvin martin is much more like luka modric than affellay and would be a decent possibility if modric leaves

Agree1 Disagree0

....where is Luka's possible destination if he leaves (sorry to say though) ?? any chance we get 40m+ for him Eds...??

Should he stay or should he go ?

Well Come on then

Click Agree for Redknapp to stay and Disagree for him to go. How do we really feel yod Army ?

Believable23 Unbelievable17

I've heard that Redknapp has gone to a Middle East club, Qatar I think. Anyone any sources on this?

The Rabbit

Agree4 Disagree10

Well, I expect we feel like yods.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well our dear old thfc, have been linked with everyone from messi to a new tea lady, are we not making the signings, due to the whispers hr, might be going, or is it same old tottenham, trying to save a pound hear and a pound their, whilst were trying to save the pounds, all the best pllayers, will and are being snapped up by our rivals, jv, not done remy ada, and another 10 with liks to club, come on levy, put up or sell up.

Agree1 Disagree0

I was the happiest yod in the world when I thought that Redcrapp was on his way to manage England and we were getting compensation for showing his sorry ass the door. Martin Jol took us th fifth with half the talent as his disposal. F'off you, Harry, you muppet!

Agree3 Disagree2

Why would anyone want redknapp to go? yes he made some bad mistakes last year but he dragged us from a mid table side to a top 4 premier league side. when we make a big signing for cheap e.g vdv everyone praises how good levys is at getting bargains yet when we sign old players e.g nelson everyone blames rednapp. surely its not levy making all the bargain signings and rednapp signing all of the players that are old and past it one of the is making all of the signings. stick with harrry and we will yet again be in and around the top 4 playing the best football in the league(apart from maybe swansea this season)

Agree0 Disagree1

Spurs arnt a top 4 side we need to stop pretending we are.we've had 1 season in the CL.iknow this season we finished fourth but i cant see an improvment on that.chelsea will challlenge for the league again and arsenal always seem to have our number.5th is the best we can hope for in my opinion

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive herd that levy won't pay the extra 2mil on top of vertonghen,Ajax want 12mil levy 10mil,as levy says he in his last yr of contract just bloody sign him levy lets get all our deals done and out the way now before the start of the summer, will we get Remy I think not huntelaar again no, def not kaka,as levy won't pay the wages if u want to get into the top 4 every season u need to pay bigger wages for bigger and better players ie sniedjer or hazard!!

Believable5 Unbelievable6

It's always easy to spend other peoples money, Levy is the one in the know, he knows how much the club can afford to spend so unless you're the Spurs accountant (which I seriously doubt) you can't possibly understand the why's and wherefores of what goes on! What do you want? Do you want us to pay more than we can afford and end up like Leeds, Portsmouth? Can I ask, where do you think this money comes from?

Agree8 Disagree2

You sir are a person how can we pay bigger wages with our revenue? until we move stadium this will not happen end off!

Agree3 Disagree1

Yeah, lets pay massive wages and go the same way as rangers!! Plus what is your source on Vertonghen? or did you just make it up?

Agree3 Disagree0

Rubbish - He's signed. Accounced soon.

Agree3 Disagree1

Why dont you stump up the extra £2 million? You clearly have more money than sense

Agree3 Disagree0

I've heard from various articles that Vertonghen is in London today apparently for a medical.

The Rabbit

Agree4 Disagree1

Also.... Don't you think if there where any other clubs interested, they would of swooped and taken him. I think it's done

Agree1 Disagree1

Is jv not in london cause belgium are playing england wend
