Everyone's disappointed we didn't get a striker, but lets just embrace the fact JJ has finally gone!

Agree10 Disagree0

I'd just like to say goodbye, from all of us, to the 'Oracle'. It's been a pleasure reading his same stories each window so his humour will be missed.

I'd suggest he re-thinks his name before his inevitable return in May. when Damaio signs for us, again.

See ya.

DT

Agree4 Disagree0

I heard we offered £17m they wanted £20m and neither side would budge. whatr I don't get is we have needed a world class striker for 2 years now and how exeactly does DL think we will achieve CL football and a title challenge without a goalscorer!

Agree1 Disagree0

I somehow doubt that we have seen the last of the Oracle, any money you like we'll be hearing that the Leandro deal was agreed but he won't join till summer

I actually feel sorry for him and can't understand why he keeps doing it to himself, but hey everyone to there own, lets be fair it adds a bit of light heartedness to the transfer window

Agree2 Disagree0

Apparently we offered £13m, proving that it was a joke attempt to sign him anyway. It's bull to be linked for 2years and put in a derisory bid on the last day of the window to try and make out we didn't get a striker because Damaoi didn't work out - we were NEVER going to sign him!

Believable1 Unbelievable10

At the lodge diame just drove in

Agree0 Disagree8

Yeah clearly (y)

Agree2 Disagree3

What a load of rubbish could of had Damiao or negredo or gomis and Lopez of Lyon would be happy for any of them at the mo we will probably will miss champs league now and levy will blame manager when it's him that won't put his hand in he's pocket and pay for a international striker, I am so disappointed in Tottenham same as last January getting really fed up with levy brilliant in everything apart from transfers always messes up and never gets wot we really need.

Spurs for life

Agree7 Disagree2

Gutted. I think a decent striker and 4th was ours. I genuinely believe we will be 7th now. Very disappointed how the club is being run. for 3 years we have had a chance to push on but instead nothing. When we lose big players in the summer due to no euro football we will just be another stoke/Fulham mid table side. Big opportunity waste. I'm sure a £20 million striker would of been paid for by champs league revenue! Levy out. . .

Disgruntled Dave

Agree7 Disagree3

Saha by any chance. Every bloody window is the same lately. Levy wants CL Football on a shoe string and who suffers, yep the fans.

Agree3 Disagree1

Levy out yet again the fans are short changed sick and tired of driving to London on the weekend paying for season tickets just to watch the rise and quick fall of spurs. Yet again chance missed.

Agree6 Disagree3

31 Jan 2013 23:13:13
Get levy out, this is just stupid.

Agree10 Disagree2

How has he done anything wrong? you guys do realise there's more to it than spending loads of money on unproven players!
You do realise a new stadium and Training centre costs money right? Stay with me because I mean ACTUAL MONEY not monopoly, not football manager but actual Wonga. The fact all this is being done we are still 4th after selling Modric and VDV, maybe our scouts are doing more than you all think. Buy cheap sell big. Show me the mistake? There's a recession going on, less people are spending on merchandise, less people paying for sky etc don't you think every business feels this? Including footy clubs!
I might sound like a broken record but we came 4th last year and we're 4th now, we are achieving. Please back the lads, we have a great side, a bit of belief will make the difference from the stands!
Dan D

Agree4 Disagree6

I genuinely think people don't understand football or how to run a club. Dan D is spot on. Just because it would be a big money deal Damiao is still unproven, so consider this scenario; we spend 20m bring him in he flops he is on 70k a week on a 4 year deal. No one will buy him and we are left will a depreciating asset that will subsequently mean we cannot sign anyone else as funds are tied up.

I think people need to understand that a transfer is complicated and 3rd party ownerships muddy the waters even more.

Also tv and the majority of news outlets "sources" are message boards and forums-so when you have people like the oracle claiming a deal for Damiano is almost done they pick up on it, report it, inflate the hopes of everyone and people are left disappointed. It's a vicious circle which is only fuelled by ridiculous claims by others claiming that their friends son's nephew plays for this team blah blah blah.

We aren't in a bad situation and I would rather Levy didn't piss away money as has been stated on here before we don't have a billionaire willing to write off 20m at a time.

Levy out is a bid of a crazy claim in my opinion he has in my opinion stabilised the club and we are pushing forward we just can't expect everything to fall into place just like that. I am happy with him and would prefer an end to the panic buys that have put us under strain in the past. I was desperate to sign a striker as I don't think Defoe is good enough but that's another issue.
Holtby looks like he will be a good addition and I am relishing seeing him in action.

On a side note to you all-you need to manage your expectation and if someone claims to be ITK they probably aren't-don't believe everything you read in the paper
and see on tv as they are clueless.

We don't need to be negative and resigned to missing out on 4th-we can and will do this. COYS!
JK

Agree4 Disagree4

Whilst I'm upset as I think we really needed a striker, you couldn't have spoken more sense Dan d, we should be proud, we are the best run club in England maybe the world. GLORY is around the corner
COYS

Agree3 Disagree1

You are quite right Dan, but we all know to get champions league you need investment in the side and in this case, it is very evident we are short up front (literally with defoe) and the reality is, there must be great strikers out there for a decent price and our scouts are certainly not finding them.

I personally am very worried Liverpool and Arsenal will both finish above us. Liverpool have done very well in Jan transfer wise and anything but a win this weekend and spurs poor form begins.

A very worried spurs fan.

Adi will sign from Togo in 2 weeks

Agreed - Levy does p*** me off. It's obvious we need a striker. I thought he might have learnt his lesson after last January. Apparently not.

Essex Nick

Us spurs fans need to get him out of our club so we can start to win things!

We need to get levy out of our club, we need to start making it clear to everyone that we don't want him here anymore

Apparently on what i'm hearing Damaio is still a possibility talks are still ongoing and apparently the fee is being said of 19 mill pounds we've still got a way to go put still possible could Oracle be right pmsl ill take everything bck of what I said if it happens.

Agree2 Disagree6

Levy's back is against the wall. if he does nothing this window he will be found out for what he is. He has to back AVB who has demonstrated great professionalism when asked about the striker situation.

Agree5 Disagree0

Not really he has been saying it for years. I thought it was 100% done last year. The oracle is not in the no. He is just a lonely old man looking for fame.

Agree5 Disagree0

It's not going to happen so let it go !!

Agree3 Disagree0

Why is everyOne going to apologise to the oracle if and that's a big if, if we sign damaio, he's only repeating what he's read its common knowledge tottenham want him, stating it every window he will be coming or it's a done deal doesn't mean that if eventually he comes he knew about it all along don't forget the oracle more recently said damaio would be in tottenham colours about a week ago not deadline day

Agree5 Disagree1

Damaio. . tv just announced a late 17M bid for Leandro which had looked slim is now on. But how can they do that with 3 hours to go? {Ed008's Note - They can't ;);)

Agree4 Disagree1

They can't and they won't. Remember Moutinho in July? It'll be a repeat performance. "Sorry we tried our best and all was agreed we just didn't get the paperwork through in time as the deal was complicated.

Come on guys, what is the real score with regards to damaio? After everything that has been said/not said. Why are we still getting posts on here?? {Ed008's Note - SSN brainwashed most of the people they say Damiao is back on to get people to tune in to watch. Damiao has very complex issues theirs no way he could be signed in 1 day with the problems with him.

Agree4 Disagree1

Cheers ed!! Now please everybody listen to this guy and give it a rest. We will all be on here tomorrow slating Levy and his policies, but by the weekend it will all have been forgotten. Yes we are short up front, and yes it may cost us points, but we have to believe in Levy and AVB. . we have no other choice.

Agree4 Disagree4

Not that I think damiao will come to spurs but are offering odds of 4/7 for us to sign him and 5/4 for him to stay in brazil! 125% return if he stays in brazil! Sounds like easy money to me!! {Ed008's Note - What's a £100 stake on 5/4?

I would be very surprised if Hooper leaves Celtic today. Everything pointed to a summer exit until Norwich decided to chance their luck. The Spurs interest seems to be only in the media, I'm not 100% convinced it is real.}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Hooper would be a waste of money,

Belhanda's move to Fenerbache has broken down over a fee. . Come on Levy!!

Dom

Believable3 Unbelievable2

We don't need Belhanda we need a Striker!

Agree7 Disagree2

I would love this signing, along with Holtby this would complete our midfield. If only Sandro was still playing! Sandro/Parker-Dembele/Holtby-Belhanda/Holtby would be a lethal range of options to choose from.

Adam

Agree1 Disagree2

Any addition is welcome in my book. Good quality competition for places can only mean good things for the squad!

Dom

Agree5 Disagree1

I forget too that Belhanda started out as a defensive midfielder and can also play the box-to-box role AND the wings - meaning he could provide cover for anybody in midfield! This would be a great signing for ~£11m.

Adam

Agree3 Disagree2

£11m? Are you his agent? I thought he was being touted much lower than that?

Agree0 Disagree0

Was he? Even better! He was being touted at ~£30m in the summer so anything is better than that.

Adam

Oracle if your right your a Lord mate, sysports news biggin up Leandro for tottenham

Internacional have decided to proceed on a cash basis with the agreement that is already signed. Damiao will be joining Spurs and Gomes will instead take his preferred option of joining Hoffenheim.

Lets hope that we can offload Bentley & Jenas and get a silly amount for Huddlestone to give us the icing on the cake.

The Oracle

Believable2 Unbelievable10

Where do you get this crap from?
im sure you must jst wait and see wat turns up on the internet and jumble it all up a bit to make it sound like you know wat your talking about.

Only thing Internacional have done is agreed that if we offer the right amount they will let him go!

Agree5 Disagree0

We will not sign Damiao. How many times do we have to go through this? Have you prepared your list of excuses yet for when it gets to 11pm and we sign a totally different player?

Adam

Agree4 Disagree0

It's not happening is it? Just admit your making it all up haha.

Billy

Agree5 Disagree0

Oh god please give it a rest. I am so disappointed yet another transfer window nearly done and again we are left hanging on to see if mr levy will give us something to cheer about.

I am normally a very positive person but when it comes to transfer deadline day I fear another anti climax

Agree3 Disagree1

**YAWN** Damiao played for Inter last night, there is no deal, he is not signing for Spurs.

Even if Inter accept an offer, the flight time to London is longer than the remaining time in the window

Glenn

Agree6 Disagree0

Oracle you have the Gomes thing right ill give you that but it seems every transfer window you go on about Damiao Spurs won't get him yet even if we had a bid excepted now it would take a lot for the deal to go through with agents 3rd parties etc etc and with so little time I don't expect this to happen if i'm right I recon you should be banned from putting any Damiao links on lol.

Agree1 Disagree0

Oracle getting excited about his done-deal, dead-cert ITK statement. . bit late for them to be deciding how to proceed on a done deal isn't it? Particularly with the logistics involved. In any case, you've seen the Inter Chairman statement and just hoping you'll finally be right. I predict we're going to get a glimour of hope like this and maybe about somebody else later with an inevitable 'just couldn't quite agree all the terms but we had agreed a big fee' like with Moutinho last time round.

Negredo, mention of a £9m bid from Everton, anybody not thinking he is worth a punt at £10m is nuts. Everybuy is a gamble, based on what we know of this guy, it's as sound as it gets from player to profile to fee. Get involved!

Agree1 Disagree1

DEAL OFF. Damaio missed his flight to uk

Agree2 Disagree0

Guys.

Damiao COULD sign. Spurs already have the medical personell in Brazil. He can do the medical out there. And remember that in this day contracts and negotiations can happen on video call and/or use fax machines.

it COULD happen

Agree4 Disagree4

Damiao is in Brazil. He wasn't booked on any flight to the uk. He could never make it in time and have a medical. Move along.

P-to-the-S {Ed007's Note - There are rumours floating around cyberspace that Spurs have bid £20 million.}

Agree0 Disagree3

I honestly do hope I'm wrong but Damaio deal realistically isn't going to happen is it. I can more likely see us getting Hooper which is very disappointing, was really hoping for a proper transfer window with us actually showing some intent to secure top 4!

I can confirm that Oracle might in fact be right this time. In my guise as Superhero, I have been booked by Daniel Levy for 8. 57 UK time to fly at twice the speed of light to an unnamed South American country to collect a large package. . it is either the golden child or Pablo Escobars legacy. .

Agree2 Disagree1

Why would Damiao need to be in the UK? VDV wasnt. .

Agree2 Disagree1

Oracle didn't get Gomes right, he said he was going to be part of a swap + cash deal that had already been signed, and now he's trying to get credit for him going to a completely different club in a totally different league in a totally different continent in a totally different deal (loan not sale).

And it's not even secret knowledge that we've been trying to offload these players that have been nowhere near the first team for years, it's just about finding a club that is willing to pay their wages.

Im getting pretty excited! It seems porto bought out the 3rd partys % in Moutinho. Seems like there's only one reason for them doing that. .! COYS!

Camtheyid

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Yeah that's a usual sure-fire sign that a player will be sold. But they were willing to sell him in the summer before owning all of him. So maybe it is just coincidence and he is going nowhere. I doubt they will sell him. Although they just got Izmailov who could be a replacement. If Moutinho goes anywhere it will be to spurs (or Barça)

P-to-the-S

Agree1 Disagree2

Townsend all set for QPR (would of been great experience for him) then told no your not going, is this because we've been knocked back or let down over a player??

Agree0 Disagree2

Izmailov is playing as a winger, I think Hector Guerrera(?) is the replacement. They're both good signs for his departure, whether he'll come to us though, might hinge off whether Beckham will sign with PSG, as I remember them wanting Moutinho.

Agree0 Disagree1

So Moutinho can create a shed-load of chances for. . who? An absent, injured or out of form Ade and Defoe carrying a niggle who's played a lot of games already and can't score in all of them (or even every other one).
We need a striker and have done since the summer.

Agree2 Disagree0

Yep, and Porto have now spent 17mill on him! So you may get him, but will have to folk out 20mil+. Cant see that myself! DJ

Agree1 Disagree0

I know we need a striker, but moutinho is better than absolutely nothing. it'd still be a fantastic signing.

camtheyid

Agree2 Disagree1

We've just got Holtby in for next to nothing, I can't see any point to Moutinho at this stage when we are desperate for some more fire-power. We have Dembele and Holtby, Lennon and Bale on the flanks, we need more options for getting chances taken and beiong able to go to a plan be up top from now until May. Otherwise we will be 5th or 6th.

Hi Eds,

Seeing a lot of news all over the place of a loan offer for Lisandro Lopez. Is there any real truth in it?

Dom {Ed001's Note - it does seem to be true that Spurs made an enquiry about him, and it also does seem to be true that it was about a loan period. That would suggest that Levy has given up on buying anyone though, which is worrying from Spurs' perspective!}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Cheers Ed, It's very worrying. But if we can get somebody of quality in on loan till the end of the season and improve with permanent signing then, I'd be happy. Just need someone! If we don't get anyone, then I'd worry. Still 11 hours left. .

Not at all.

Álvaro Negredo will sign deadline day
in the range of 12 to 15 mil.
mark my words x

Believable3 Unbelievable9

Don't be so sure. Everton have put in a bid as well

Everything this morning is pointing towards Everton being the front runners for Negredo after the deal for Fer fell through. . Can't see us getting Negredo. Hopefully there's something being sorted. I'd even go for a loan signing till the end of the season, Hernandez, Welbeck, anyone!!

Agree2 Disagree2

Negredo going to Everton by the sounds of it what's going off we need a couple of strikers not just one !!

Agree2 Disagree3

If negrado goes to everton and we don't sign a striker, then I can see major issues developing at home games toward levy/enic.
Everton are 1 point behind us.

Just to let you all know this will be the final attempt to land Damaio. If negotiations are not resolved after 3 hard long years of trying, Levy will cut the link with inter and find another Brazilian club to do future business with.
