Rumours that Brendan Rodgers will be top target if/when HR leaves for England. Definitely would be high on my list of candidates, but if we are looking for that style of football why not look at Louis Van Gaal? Plays great football has won the league title at all the clubs he has managed and has vast experience. Give Rodgers time to mature, allow Van Gaal to develop an intricate passing game, before going for Rodgers further down the line when he as built up more experience. What are people's thoughts?

Well said Davo !

Flippit.

Sorry Naz , I disagree . Arry spends to much time in the bloody papers !! Isnt he paid to manage our club , or isnt that enough money for him ? Come the end of the season , if we have something to brag about , then let him have a 4 page spread in what ever rag he wants , but until then , do what you are paid for and manage the team !!
Davo

Bielsa is class but the only question I'd have is what's his English like ? I've never heard him speak in English, does anyone know ? If he doesn't is it worth risking another ramos situation? If he has good English then definately he'd b a great choice.

I really like the athletic bilbao manager, he could bring llorente with him as well! trouble is he would be very disciplined as well, and he has some unique tactical ideas that, while they could work spectacularly in the long run, could result in a poor half season or so of transition from redknapps run-around-abit philosophy. depends how patient we all are {Ed001's Note - Bielsa is a genius! You would not lack for exciting, attractive, attacking football if you had him as manager.}

And I just thought it was me that the star decided to print a rogers rumour two days before we play them esp with harry being billed as the next england gaffer!

I agree about Rodgers Naz way to soon for him. A lot of people don't realise swansea have been playing that style of football for yrs, Martinez set the ground work for where they are now. Rodgers added to it & pulled a masterstroke by getting Sinclair & dyer to move them to next level, he also improved them defensively but passing style was already there.
He wouldn't b my choice but if Rodgers was to take over I'd b 100% behind him & we probably do a lot worse.
As for Van Gal are not all the great managers like Mourinho & Ferguson strict. I don't have a problem with it in fact I'd welcome it, at times I feel some of the players get to complacent knowing they won't get dropped that wouldn't b tolerated with mourinho Ferguson or indeed Van Gal. As for twitter spurs already have a policy of club details not been discussed on social networks so I don't see that as a problem.
I hate managers talking in the press all u get is pointless drivel, I have to laugh when I see managers coming out after games saying that was stonewall penalty or that was a sending off & couple of wks later when It's there team that gets away with it predictably It's I couldn't see it or the ref got that one right for me, they all do it, the only 1 I can stand listening to was mick mccarthy at least he could b honest in his assesment of game & decisions given.
As for players talking there hardly a fountain of knowledge with there bog standard answeres, let them do there talking on the pitch I say.
So for me van gal is perfect great football born winner good judge of a player he don't sign to many duds, takes no s**t & best of all when Ferguson tries his usual mind games he won't fall for it or let the players either van gal has a hex over Ferguson in head to head matches & we need someone who can do that.

I agree that Brendan is a good manager but can he take us the next step? not much experience in the premier league. 1 and a half successful seasons in his pocket is hardly the resume for a top 4 club.

I don't know about Van Gaal, Yes he is great but maybe too strict. I like our manager in the newspaper, I like our players being outspoken. Van Gaal is the type to never say anything to press, and ban all players from twitter facebook, talking to press etc.

Naz

He'd b my choice as well, him or Slaven bilic, As for dictorial style I think thats exactly what they need no player would take his place for granted, we need a manager that can install belief that they can win title with harry its were overachieving. To know how good van gal is just look at his head 2 head record with Alex Ferguson he wins hands down.
By the way cock end Gooner u can change your name all u like we know who u are SAD-O
Espur

You couldn't have Van Gaal's dictatorial style after Harry, all the players would be looking to move. To stark a contrast

Why would he leave Swansea to go to a smaller club?
