What's the latest on Spurs signing Ezikiel Fryers? Latest I heard is we are favorites to sign the left back after not agreeing a contract extension with man united.

Gallas appears to be on his way out of the club. Another huge wage off the bill, more funds to work with. Looking like Villas-Boas announcement is imminent. Lots of rumours about investment coming from Qatar, however I have no information on that. Like I said, Vertonghen will be a Spurs player, and Sigurdsson is close. Next up... Strikers! (I'm 90% sure Ade will be signed permanently, as for the second I have no idea). If I hear anything else I will pass on.

Not sure I can see the club loosing an experienced defender like gallas , with nelson gone , bassong going , and the legend retired that leaves us with kaboul, Dawson , vert and caulker , gallas experience would be invaluable to us !

As for investment I've said this for weeks , with new stadium coming , I really think something is happening here be it a take over or naming rights / huge sponsorship

Roll on July 1st vert and avb

Agree2 Disagree1

Rumours of the sale of spurs to any qatar based parties are probably premature. joe lewis and levy are turning spurs into an attractive prospect for potential buyers but as a club we have nowhere near enough sell-ability yet. levy and lewis know this and so are obviously pushing ahead with a bigger stadium in what will be a newly regenerated district of london. this will increase our value no end, allowing our current owners to rake in a huge profit and retire off somewhere on a personal island or something.
we are fairly lucky that mr levy sees investing wisely as the right way to make his own money grow, so i wouldn't be surprised (especially with avb coming in who likes to spend to build his own squad) if significant funds were going to be made available by the board, add on the sale of modric for between 30-40mil realistically and that could give us around 60-70mil to play with to invest in a young talented squad that wouldn't immediately demand super massive wages, so we do have some quality targets that are realistic for a change.

Verthongen - 10mil
Sigurdsson - 9mil
Moutinho - 25-30mil
= 44-49mil

the only problem then is what do we do about getting a couple of strikers with only 11mil plus what we get/got for bentley, corluka, maybe gomes, etc.

Agree1 Disagree0

We should sign the above 3 and sell modric for 40 million. only need to spend 4 million if we get moutinho for 25

Agree0 Disagree0

Already have the Niko & Charlie monies, as well as possible sales of a couple or more out of: JJ, Bentley, Gio, Piennar.

Spurs are going for Affellay and Forlan. Anyone know anything about it.

Believable4 Unbelievable14

You starting a rumour then asking for a source?? In which case yes I know about it. You just told me

Agree13 Disagree3

Oh God, I would love to have Forlan, but I wouldn't believe it until the deal was done

Agree2 Disagree11

I heard that we're going for Forlan but I hope not. He's okay, I guess but we need YOUNG players. Forlan is 33. I'd rather have Andy Carrol.
And I've read that Lille are most likely going to sign Affellay. I hope we get him though. He's cheap and young. He'll develop and I believe he may be a future star for us if he was to join.

John COYS!

Agree8 Disagree2

Afellay maybe, Forlan no way

Agree3 Disagree0

Wow Florlan and Andy Carrol it's like all my birthdays have come at once...Zzzzzzz

Andre Villas-Boas is set to be unveiled as Tottenham Hotspur boss on Monday and the Portuguese is already preparing for life without star man Luka Modric. In return, Tottenham have given Villas-Boas assurances that Gareth Bale and Rafael van der Vaart will not be sold this summer but the club have conceded that Luka Modric is likely to depart for Real Madrid.

Reports in Spain suggest that Spurs will pursue a part-exchange deal involving Turkish midfielder Nuri Sahin but Villas-Boas wants Joao Moutinho for around 25mill.

Sahin has said he wants to stay at RM. Feel he would have been a good signing so it is a pity.

Why did we sell Corluka, wasnt he one of our best defenders and i now feel there is not enough depth in our defence

Believable2 Unbelievable10

Charlie had two speeds slow and stop which weren't great for the pace of the PL his positional play was good though and he was no mug

Agree7 Disagree1

We got naughton coming back from his loan spell. good player

Agree5 Disagree1

He would only be second fiddle and he wants first team footy, walker is better at right back and kaboul, dawson even caulker would be before him at centre back

Agree2 Disagree0

Really ? Not enough depth ...... Yes Charlie I thought was a good player just not a great RB which is where HR insisted on playing him ... However don't complain with that depth at RB
Walker,Naughton,Smith that's enough depth I think ... However for a versatile defender I agree we have lost a good player
Does anybody know what price we got for him ? I haven't a clue and can't find it anywhere ?

Agree1 Disagree0

I dunno about one of our "best" he was certainly one of our slowest. He will be fine playing in Europe but he wasnt up to playing a hard and fast premiership game.
Super Y*d

Agree1 Disagree0

Your joking yeah?!!

Agree1 Disagree0

3.2 million we got for Charlie

Agree0 Disagree2

I heard 6.5 million

Agree1 Disagree1

Let me cover this issue with a more positive message. Firstly unlike others I totally agree that Corluka was a brilliant defender. He was much more the disciplinarian traditional right back. Far more skilled than Walker for example in the defending department, but simply not suited to more offensive duties. Personally I love to see Walker storm forward, but I fear he is covering up the shortfall than Lennon leaves down the wing. Walker frequently leave the defensive options wide open, and it has only been covered by the brilliant vision of Parker who slots back to clean up the danger.

So if we consider Corluka we need to establish what we are trying to achieve in that position. Do good Premiership teams play static RBs anymore? We will receive a hefty transfer fee for a player more suited to a slower paced league.

Lastly I want to correct a couple of responses who say that we have a good player in Naughton. Let me tell you this kid is much more than good and will soon overtake Walker as our future RB. Yes I rate Walker as one of the best prospects inEuropean football, but Naughton has even more pace, strength, vision and defensive awareness. The future with Walker & Baughton will be exciting and will only fuel healthy competition in these youngs superstars.

The Oracle

Agree2 Disagree1

I didn't think naughton was as quick ?
And naughton is also not an attacking minded player he would be cover for rb or I've also heard he plays lb maybe future replacement of benny ?

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not one for jumping on the Oracle bashing bandwagon about transfer predictions but, when anybody says that Naughton has more ace and strength than Walker I have to wonder about anything they say. I really don't think Naughton is stronger and I know he isn't quicker!

Kevin Bond and Joe Jordan have been given the boot.

Frank De Boer has confirmed that Jan Vertonghen will be returned to trian pre-season with Ajax but expects him to still join Spurs this summer. Also Sahir has said that he doesn't want to leave Real Madrid.

COYS get the deals done.

Bale is going, he spoke to Levy and he got him to sign a contract so he could get top price for him. contact in the club

spurman

Believable3 Unbelievable17

Contact inside the club? Haha
You need a new contact mate.
Funny how we all have 'a contact in the club'

Agree6 Disagree1

How can you say Bale is leaving. he said he wants to be a part of spurs, i don't see how that is a sign he is leaving.

Agree6 Disagree1

Levy clever has been getting all our best players to sign newer contracts so if they do want to move we get the best price possible Modders on a long contract so is Walker i think Bale was tied in for a few years anycase so no reason extend if he was off

Agree1 Disagree0

Bale had three years left on his contract anyway so technically he's signed a years extension.....they could have got top dollar whatever

Rufus

Agree3 Disagree0

Jeez how many people work at the club? nearly everyone has a contact there!

There's talk about sahin coming in as part of the Modric deal, that boy was class at Dortmund and hasn't had a look in at Madrid so would be a great addition but what about trying to get Moutinho from Porto with the money we get from Modric and also with Villareal getting relegated Rossi and Nilmar will surely be looking to move on. Just an idea folks

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Sahin wold defo be a great signing for us mate,so will motinho,..we should defo not sell modric to and english club and we should get the deal done..with rossi i feel its too much of a gamble.hes still injured and probs wont be fit till november at the least

Agree2 Disagree4

Sahin says he loves life at madrid so wont leave..ssn. Shame but iam sure we can get other good midfielders like siggurdson if we get top money for modders. Maybe modders should look at bale and learn something about loyalty.

Agree5 Disagree3

It's all about the money. Bale is now on 115k per week.BARCA offered less.Hopefully if Levy & Lewis sell we can offer the big bucks.
