We need a winger to compete with bale and lennon and to cover for them. Lewis Holtby? He is out of contract in 6months and good be a great piece of business.
Any thoughts? IMO wouldnt hurt if he fails, we would recover his 1year wage in the transfer fee alone, plus all the outs that will happen this summer with bently, jenas and all the other deadweight would leave a salary for him

I thought holtby was a central midfielder

Lewis holtby is a central midfielder.

Jermain

We have Falque and Townsend

I agree we need cover for the wings but Lewis Holtby is a CM.

Think we missed a good un by not getting Affelay, thats hope we can grab a winger and a striker in Jan.

Com'on Levy get ya wallet out and deliver us what we all know we need!

THFC4EVER

Willian will soon provide that flair down the wings. The bad news is he is so good, that it could tempt Levy to cash in on Bale.

The Oracle

The oracle.....

You obviously know nothing about the funds we have available at the club. We're already up by millions from sales we made last season therefore Levy will NOT cash in on our BEST player. We make a big profit every year...something you fail to understand.

Azza

Gareth bale isnt going anywhere this transfer window or next one Oracle

Nearly January the first let the silly Oracle rumours begin. I for one love it and look every day, but hey let's have a few well sourced rumours please! Ed's any rumours that you know of you were supposed to reply last Friday to a rumour you had heard?

Thanks
Stuart {Ed001's Note - thanks for reminding me, I completely forgot. What I have been told, and it is not much, is that Remy and Aubemeyang are the most likely January targets. There was also the suggestion of a move for Thomas Ince, to allow Bale to move up front and provide cover for his injuries, being possible. A different person, one I am not so sure of their accuracy, has said that the left back position has caused a few discussions, heated discussions. He claims that AVB is keen to buy a left back in January, but other factions (I believe he means Levy, but he wouldn't confirm or deny anything) think it is best to continue to blood youngsters and wait on the summer, when Rose will return. Oh, he also claims that Sneijder is purely paper talk. Other than that, I have nothing at all on Spurs.}

Thanks Ed001 for your response! I do feel we need a left back.

We already have one of the best LBs in the Premiership with BAE. With Kaboul returning and both Vertonghrn and Naughton as cover, why would we want another defender.

Spurs need a flexible winger able to challenge Bale and Lennon, with the ability to play across the line. Willian is the perfect player who would provide us with so many options.

The only other position would be a top class striker. I am a Defoe fan and think Adebayor provides options, but the finishing ratio is terrible. Time to invest heavily in a world class striker, and make a sensible challenge.

Lastly, if you think Levy would not sell Bale at 60m then you are wrong.

The Oracle

Er yes he would sell bale for 60m....

Oracle, are you saying that we need a world class striker together with Damiao?

My mistake he is not an out and out winger, but he is an attacking mid who has a great left foot. He could replace dempsey and cover the left flank.
Rather than correcting his position please respond if you think he would be a good choice or not on his own. I'm sure there are loads of players you would rather have, but tell me if you think he would be a good acquisition as I dont watch Schalke. This is a business move mainly and its not like THFC can lose here unless this guy pulls a Bently
