Gomes was a regular liability, one or two clangers will happen to any keeper, 8-10 complete howlers and it's time to call time.

Crouch had a very weak game today. Couldn't hold onto the ball. So many fouls by him as well. Adebayor will be much better replacement. Parker in place of kran and we have a decent midfield and strike foirce. Defence, we seriously need a cb. Cahill would be my choice.

Levy needs to put in a 28m bid for lavezzi who can play on the right in place of Aaron lennon. He is exactly what we are missing.
Freidel should be dropped as should Lennon and Dawson. Crouch....... Well I can't stand to hear his name.

Drop Freidel you must be joking he by far has been our best player so far in the two games and if it were not for at least six top class saves we would have conceded a lot more.

Hear me out fella's. You just don't know whether those world class goals scored by City would have been turned into world class saves by gomes. You have to understand that although gomes has made sone blunders there are times when he pulls of some world class match winning saves, which have gone unnoticed because of his previous howlers. Freidel has been sussed out fella's. I'll give you an example. Think back to the utd game when rooney put in a cross and young headed the ball across goal and freidel was left staring. Now I may be wrong but that header by young looked like it was in slowmotion, the ball was in the air for a good 2.5 seconds enough time for freidel to adjust and make a save if needed which luckily wasn't. He did the exact same thing against city with dzeko. Once freidel has made up his mind about which direction he's going to dive there's no changing it. If a balls been hit and is going more central rather then in the corners then of course he's going to save it as shown in both games. The only difference between the two is that freidel is better at handling set pieces because in all other areas in my opinion gomes wins Hands down.
I don't think brad is a bad keeper, I just feel that becAuse of his age he's become less flexible and LesS likely to pull off worldys. I'll put money on it that there will come a time when you'll be crying out for gomes. Mark these words lads. Call me deluded. I don't care fella's.

does pull off saves that no keeper has any right to.... however perhaps thinking about it this way.... will dropping gomes for a bit... to make him buck his ideas up and not be sloppy .... ? perhaps this is a motivation tactic... ? {Ed008's Note - Drop all the GK's and start Button!
Azza I agree that gomes is better than brad and i think that he could learn alot from freidel and i think that's more about this transfer to get one of the best keepers for set pieces to train up gomes and his world class saves. just a thought and i do think freidel was the right keeper for the job for those games.

I think we are definitely in need of defenders. Thought kaboul was awful today. Don't like crouch in the side cause all we do is long ball it to him and he's not good enough to do anything with it, ship him. I could tell modric was rusty but I'd be willing to part ways at this point as long as a good replacement is brought in. If we can get Parker for 6m then I think that'd be good. He'll want to play for us and will most likely retire with us and that's good enough value right there. Defoe looked sharp, keep him. We need a world class keeper to, don't think friedel is gonna cut it. Feel like we could have brought some quality in for little value but have missed out on that opportunity, given, steklandburg, and mexes to name a few. Thanks for your replies, and let me cover a few of your doubts.
1. The deal will be announced on Tuesday as the Spurs legal team finalise the deal.
2. The price is actually alot for a 21 year old kid who has played 1.5 internationals and was dropped in favour of Fred. In addition his experience and success has been limited to the Brazilian league which is hardly comparable with the English Premiership.
3. Compare the £13.5m with Van Der Vaart £8m, Modric £16.5m, Berbatov £10.9m and even Bale £10m. The fee hardly seems cheap does it when the players mentioned above all had raving reviews and much more proven pedigree.

van der vaart was a lucky signing (for 8mil anyway) because RM wanted him off the wage-bill and we were literally in the right place at the right time, berbatov had minimal top flight experience coming from a mid-table team in a less than impressive bundesliga at the time, modric's value we paid was pretty fair it was obvious of his class but we signed him from virtually nowhere, and bale.... well he was only 18 when we signed him and i think i'm right in saying he was one of, if not the most, expensive 18 yr olds in history

Our lack of bite in midfield was evident today. Think we missed a better deal in Barton for free. Now we're going for Parker for £6 mill. Don't get me wrong he's a hungry player with great engine for a 30yr old.
Striker is a must. Bellamy wouldn't be a bad signing but maybe show ambition as a club and pay the asking feedor damiao. Or get Ruiz cos he's a topper
See this is what i dont get. seen us linked with a loan more for Kaka again and the chavs are set to bid £40m for modric. with all the feedback i fear modric is far to unsettles at the moment and hate to say it but maybe £40m would be better right now. apparently weve got a few scouts over in france atm. i would think Prajic is a good modric replacment.

Haven't posted on here for a while but if sources and rumours are true then we could (i said could) be seeing Bellamy and Kaka at the lane soon....the Parker deal is at an advanced stage and i so hope we don't sign 'past it' Joe Cole. Well lets hope we do get the first 2 as i feel it would improve us bigtime as i'm getting a little concerned yet again that another transfer window will pass without signing any major players to help us contend with a top 4th place.
(PS I really hope we don't get spanked by City today)
