I've heard rumours that Darren Bent could make a return to spurs for £9m. Not sure how believable this is but I would have him back tomorrow!! Fallen behind Benteke and can find the net. Thoughts?

Believable1 Unbelievable11

He may be able to score but why would you want him back? Cause an upset in changing rooms eventually.. Reason why he hasn't stayed at a club for a long period of time..

Agree5 Disagree1

We will take him for free on loan. He misses goals my nan could score

Apparently Heldt flew into London today (Sunday) with regards to Holtby, according to reports in Germany. Let's hope this is true. If any match could show we needed a creative spark, this was the one.

TSGMO {Ed013's Note - As far as I know a contract has been agreed with Holtby, its just a case of which window will he join}

Avb said today that he is happy with our striker situation and yet a week ago he said we were looking for one! Make your mind up, almost as painful as Harry!

Levy and Eales seen in Royal Garden Hotel tonight with some other men, Holtby?

spurs guvnor

Believable4 Unbelievable6

Maybe just maybe AVB knows a little more than you and when those things come to light you may be just as happy with the striker situation

AVB said we needed a striker now he is happy? Hmmmmmm what could of changed? If only Sherlock was available

After the game Avb has come out an said they are happy with the squad and not expecting additions.. He goes he knows its risky but they are happy ....... What a joke
Mr g

Believable3 Unbelievable5

I doubt he is going to Announce how desperate we are for a goal scorer with 4 days left in the window and watch the prices go up.

Agree5 Disagree1

Mr g.
its called diplomacy.
if avb stood in front of the cameras and stated we need more forwards, better than what we have, what detrimental effect could that have on our current strikers, and what effect would it have on the dressing room spirit?
.
hardly fill them with confidence would it?

just because avb has stated he's happy with what he's got, doesn't mean he is !

I think this is a doublt bluff. He is the opposite of Harry and keeps his cards close to his chest.

The Rabbit

Like other teams are unaware of the spurs situation ie ade at the acn defoe injured

News from the coaches at spurs is that we are going in for Benteke as he has apparently handed in a transfer request. Any news on this ed? Let us know if you get any on it

The Sledgehammer {Ed001's Note - I can't find anything to back up him handing in a transfer request or that Spurs have bid for him.}

Believable1 Unbelievable6

He has already played for two clubs this season so can not pay for anyone else until 2013-14 season. Therefore this story has as much chance of coming true as one of the oracles bs.

If your going come up with stories, at least do some homework first to make them beleavable.

Agree0 Disagree1

Must be untrue cause he has played for two teams allready this season as he played a few games for his former club before he moved to aston villa he can't move to a new club till the summer

Agree0 Disagree1

Ahh okay, this is what my coach was telling me this morning from what he's heard, i'm not sure Benteke would take us to the next level anyway but still

The Sledgehammer

Agree0 Disagree1

Benteke is only getting noticed at Villa, due to the sure midfield without any steel. He hardly ouzes class, and usually needs more chanes than Sandra Redknapp before scoring. There is little doubt he is immensely powerful, and I doubt there are too many defenders that want he snapping around loose ball in the box.

I don't believe we need a one footed powerhouse who is average in the air. Sure there are teams that want Emile Heskey type brute force, but we already have strength and power in midfield through Parker, Dembele and Bale. On another not I don't think he is as good as Defoe or Adebayor, and to be honest I would rather play Obika or Pritchard than take a mediocre striker from a woeful team.

The good news is that Christian Benteke is not on our radar as a legitimate target, and Aston Villa sitting precariously above the relegation zone are highly unlikely to release the man who offers them a glimpse of survival.

The Oracle

Good sources coming out of the Bundesliga that Shalke are very close to letting Holtby leave in January.

Der Westen reporting that Horst Heldt was in London today to negotiate with Spurs over Holtby move.Flying back via Lyon prehaps?

Expect things to start moving on this...

Is anyone aware of why one if our brightest hopes has gone on loan to the bottom of the league in Italy's sirie be - Coulibaly ? Surely a move to an English side would be more beneficial to his development ? Or are we on the verge of losing this talent ?

Essex spurs

Believable3 Unbelievable5

To scared to give him a chance, most other PL teams would have played him in lower matches, not us ! Today would have been a good chance to assess him, instead JD will probably play and get a bloody injury !! We keep hearing about our academy and young stars we have, where do the get the experience ?
Also, can anyone tell me if we actually have a scouting network, and if we do, what the f**k do they do all day ?
Davo

Agree5 Disagree1

Very good question; I was also scratching my head when reading that story?!

The optimist in me thought we must be bringing in another young spark;

The pessimist in me thought he could be missing Italy;

Either way - this looks like our loss at this moment.

Agree6 Disagree1

Well fellow Spurs fans its the calm before the storm. I'd say the transfer window will get interesting as of tomorrow.

Can I ask "Oracle" were is Damaio? You said he was to arrive last week???

Anyway I for one believe (hoping) we will sign Nelgrado of Seville....Please DL deliver the goods.

Stuart

PS I look forward to your reply Oracle

Agree3 Disagree3

Obika has been scoring more consistantly in the res/under21s and may even get a run out today when we have a healthy lead.

Agree4 Disagree1

Obika named on the bench for todays game.

Agree3 Disagree0

Why people continue to add their own twist to everything I write is beyond me. I told you Damiao before the end of transfer window, so be a good little boy and wait and see. When he doesn't arrive I will be happy for the abuse.

I would've donated to this site because I like reading the crap on ere but none of my posts ever get posted on ere so t.s

Agree2 Disagree3

Or maybe (just maybe) some of you have been confusing Football Manager for real life. Maybe he's just not that good and there wasn't any interest in him from Championship/League 1. Just a thought ....

Agree0 Disagree2

Wasn't he rated highly and wanted by many sides when we nabbed him scored goals in development squad - he is toot on FM anyway !

Oracle how certain are you of damiao ? / moutinho

Essex spurs

Agree0 Disagree3

Damiao 100% and Moutinho 80% is what I have said all along. Everyone including the press think these are impossible, I am telling you that is not the case.

The Oracle

Agree3 Disagree2

Oracle, I really hope your right with this prediction mate, those two would push us on to the next level, just can't see it happening to be honest! Fingers crossed tho!

Agree1 Disagree0

The Oracle, you are very wrong.

The boat has sailed with Moutinho.
Damaio is the only possibility although it will never happen unless inter accept a bid of no more then 18/20m

holtby 100% & Saldado unless levy can negotiate a cheap deal with your wife damaio.

This transfer window will be Levys final attempt to land Damaio.
The Channeller.

Agree0 Disagree1

Seriously Oracle;
We have 4days to go.. are you really going to have us all glued to tv again this window d-day with this 100% nonsense..

It has been the same for 3 years now so this is hardly a reliable service you are providing is it!

Agree1 Disagree1

After what I saw today against Leeds I can only hope you are right Oracle, cause we were bad from front to back. Without additions of the right quality I can see us going on another slide till the end of the season

Agree1 Disagree0

One signing this window -Holtby that's it .
Spursmad Dave.

Agree0 Disagree1

Oracle.. you say this every transfer window getting rediculous.. Hell sign when he's 30 or something and oracle will say I told you so!

Agree3 Disagree1

In response to Oracle, I can assure you I'm not a little boy. Infact i'm 6ft 2 and 38 years old and have been a Spurs fan for 34 years! You have constantly said Damaio will be arriving for the last 4/5 transfer windows - hence no one believing a word you say. i'd go suggest your the little boy!

Anyway after yesterdays performance we need a creative midfielder and striker, please DL & AVB provide.

Stuart

Agree0 Disagree1

Dear Stuart

I don't want to get into my dad is stronger than your dad games, but I am 6ft 5ins and you are therefore still factually my little boy.

Anyway enough of the jester, you all better pray the deluded nutter Oracle is right. At the moment I see Adebayor on Togo duty, Defoe on the physio table and Dempsey looking less clinical than Robbie Keane.

One thing is certain, if I am wrong and we only secure Holtby, then we can all kiss goodbye to 4th place. I tell you all to keep positive and sleep well, safe in the knowledge that the Dom Perignon is already on ice.
