Saints fan here just wondered what Spurs reaction is as from what I can tell you're not overwhelmed with appointment of MoPo? Who was the fans favourite for the job?

Agree5 Disagree1

Personally I would like de boer

Absolutely gutted, the guy can't even speak English what a joke. I would of preferred Guus Hiddink any day. Yes he did ok at Southampton and Espanyol but nothing great or special.

5year contract? That's even funnier! Our managers don't even last a year LMAO

{Ed002's Note - He speaks English just fine but does not want to get trapped by journalists in interviews. Keep in mind Spurs did have a manager who didn't speak English and did just fine under him. Harry Redknapp.}

Hi Benalis. Honestly can't say other than LVG any manager wouldn't have been a risk (realistic targets). I've grown to like the idea of Mopo over the last few days and after hearing the announcement was fairly content with the appointment. Got to back him now regardless. Question for yourself, as a soton fan how good of a signing would you say he is for Spurs? Do you believe he got lucky with a good generation coming through the ranks or that he was the reason for them youngsters flourishing?
Many thanks.

Honestly would have to say a bit of both, he was there when they flourished, but they were good players anyway

MoPo will only do well at Spurs if the players buy into his style, which involves heavy fitness training and forgetting about being the centre of attention. Yes he is a good manager but I think it would be hard to do well at Spurs. If it takes more than a year for him to move out unwanted players and get in ones that are willing to do what he wants he could be sacked. If you and Levy can give him enough time he will be very successful.

Agree0 Disagree2

In regards to youth players we have always brought through great young player's before he was there. He certainly didn't make them worse but the big thing is he trusts them and gives them game time, which is easier when a 8th place finish is greeted like winning the league. The pressure will be more intense at Spurs and the mistakes which young players made wasn't scrutinised as much as it will be at Spurs.

Fair play Benalis, pretty much what I expected you to say, also I agree. I'm optimistic about his appointment and hope he gets the time everyone knows he's going to need.
All the best next season.
