Jay B {Ed001's Note - not in Jan I can't. Sorry.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Cheers ed , think there will be anyone in at all ?

Jay B

Agree1 Disagree1

I will be surprised if we don't get anyone. But it might be a youngster or a Pienaar-esc player in defense.

Agree0 Disagree1

Pienaar would be crap in defence ;)

Hi ED with Pav leaving (at long last) any reasonable idea at who's being looked at as a replacement i've heard talks of Damaio but no real evidence?

Thanks John {Ed002's Note - Talk remains about Leandro Damaio of course, and the Zarate story keeps coming up. Damiao seems to remain of interest to several clubs not least AC Milan who want him to replace Cassano but need to free up a non EU quota spot to buy him. Spurs and Arsenal have apparently have taken a close look recently as have Porto and PSG. His agent is talking up offers but that will probably not be anything to do with transfer fees, just possible wages. Over the summer there was also interest from Juve, Roma, Lyon, Sporting Lisbon and Barcelona have shown some interest in the past two months. Unless there is a push from a club for a transfer this month, I don't see him moving before perhaps January 2013. Juventus may just push for a January transfer and that would be a test of Spurs' interest. As for Zarate, much depends on whether or not Claudio Raneiri decides to do with him. I would suggest a loan of Zarate might make sense but buying him could be risky. But a loan would require him to be free of his existing loan at Inter and it is in the hands of Raneiri to decide if he keeps him at Inter the rest of the season or returns him to Lazio. Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal, Rubin Kazam, Spartak Moscow, Lille, Newcastle and Blackburn have looked at him and declined his services in the past. I feel that if he does move this winter that a loan is less likely than a sale and that would probably rule out Spurs and Liverpool. Lazio would certainly like to be rid of the player and Genoa may well be able to strike a permanent deal. If not, then a loan is viable.}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Absolutely nothing about Pav being off on BBC/SSN so unless you have other sources talk of a replacement bit premature. Spurs website down today as its being revamped btw

Agree1 Disagree0

The daily mirror thinks that the remy deal may still be on if we offer the right money to both marseille and remy, they think the talk of the move being impossible was just a way of saying, you need to make a big offer. ed what do you think?

{Ed002's Note - I don't know that anything has changed. A third party (an agent) suggested to Marseille that there is interest from Spurs and some sort of exchange for Pavlyuchenko was proposed which was immediately dismissed. Spurs however took a look at Remy with a biew to a cash bid being made but never followed up. Remy would perhaps be interested in a move to a leading side in the summer but Marseille may price him out of the January market as they have no interest in selling at this time - unless a very good offer is made. There has been a suggestion that Arsenal could also be interested in Remy.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Damiao deal seems realistic but I dont think it will happen yet maybe in the summer, just wanted to clear something up about pavs contract, spurs have extended his contract its not a new one all it means is that it wont run out so someone gets him as a free.

Agree1 Disagree2

With regards to Remy. He wont be at Marseille past the summer. The problem is Marseille dont need to sell. They are in the last 16 of the Champions League and Remy may score the goals to take them further. Whilst realistically you cant see them winning it even one more round can pay millions. They would also prefer a bidding war in the summer. I`m led to believe Remy is settled and happy to stay.

On the flip side we have Spurs in need of a striker but who value Remy at less than Marseille do. Spurs like Remy and would do a deal at the right price. I believe Remy would come if Marseille were happy to sell.

I`m led to believe the difference in valuations is circa £8M. Whether a deal can be done is in the balance but from what I`ve heard Remy is the back up plan.

The difficulty with playing hard ball is even if we do match the price Marseille would probably want to find a replacement and would need time to do so. My gut feeling is this deal wont happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why the summer? Isnt that the middle of Brazil`s season?

Super Pav is back off to Russia

Believable7 Unbelievable0

He cant be, he has just signed a new contract!

Agree1 Disagree10

No we took up an option to extend his current one. Pav had no choice in this. It ensure we get a fee rather than him leaving for free in the summer

spurs are wanting to sign a young goalkeeper to fill in when brad friedel retires with Tim Krul being on top of there list

Believable11 Unbelievable2

Damiao would be wicked as he's a top finisher as for the keeper ... vroom from swansea not much else need maybe a injury free cb but we are well covered everywhere else

Agree5 Disagree0

But does this keeper have the va va vroom
:)

Agree1 Disagree0

Krul not going anywhere! stated in an interveiw yesterday that he loves it at newcastle and worked hard to get the jersey and plans to stay a long time!

Leandro Damiao is off to Tottenham, having medical Friday. Played last game for Internacional last night. Scored the winner.

Believable13 Unbelievable10

Rubbish, where did you get this information from?

Agree5 Disagree4

Wait and see! Signed a striker last week,not as replacement but as cover. Now just signed an attaking winger as extra cover. May see him at the game Friday if all goes well, otherwise will be announced Monday.

Agree4 Disagree4

Wont happen not even herd this rumor on any source ie sky sports talk sports anywhere so must be a load of made up toffee

Agree4 Disagree1

Not a chance. Not even mentioned on any other sites

Agree3 Disagree1

I hope you are right, I think he will b amazing in a lillywhite shirt. do you know how much?

Agree1 Disagree0

Sky Sport/Talk Sport of course get everything correct and first? How many times are they wrong and blasted by people on here. Seems credible to me.

Agree1 Disagree1

No price disclosed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure about any of that, what I do know is that a deal is very close that will see Bale going to Madrid in the Summer for Kaka plus cash.

Agree1 Disagree10

Man utd have been reported as intrested in him so maybe that news has stirred Levy into action to get him so that the manx dont snatch him.

Agree3 Disagree0

Checked with my contact. No change since yesterday. No deal in place for a striker as of yet.

20/6/7

Agree1 Disagree4

Levy may have pulled out finger cos man utd are now interested and he is top talent so would be bad to lose out to the manx who we rival now. Break the bank Levy for this guy.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have also been told that Leandro will be on his way next week as well. Lets just say I have a friend who works in the travel industry who organises flights for football players - she is a Tottenham fan who works with the club as well.

Agree1 Disagree6

It seems that Levy has been talking to Internacional again. It seems Inter were holding out awaiting a better offer but nothing has happened. The question is will they accept ours or reject it and wait till summer
BTW re an earlier post Bale will be going nowhere in summer

Agree1 Disagree0

I have for one hope that Damaio does sign for Spurs

Agree3 Disagree0

Man u have hernandez why would they want damaio

Agree0 Disagree0

Well its Friday and no word of a medical today for any players possibly signing for us.

Ed, am I right in thinking that we have now signed Falque on a permanent deal? {Ed001's Note - yes and then sent him out on loan.}

Believable5 Unbelievable6

How can anyone disagree with this???
