Hi fellow fans, its being reported on Talkrubbish that we have leaped to the front of the queue for Hooper. I hope not as I don't think he is what we want but have a feeling its what we might get, but I see Levys wife/Damiao's lover Oracle has said its not going to happen. I agree with a post from earlier saying why did we not go for Sissoko, at 2.5 million would have done a job and given a bit of cover enabling us to lose Livermore.

I think with a couple of decent players in(Negrado and a quality m/f) we could push for 3rd but with what we might get(Hooper and keeping Livermore) we just pray we don't get another injury to Dembele/Parker/ or worse Defoe/Lennon/Bale.

Celtic fan here.u could do a lot worse than hooper. boyhood spurs fan who would get you 15 to 20 goals a season in the league and before the spl bashers start you are all correct.the spl is mince but good strikers score goals in any league and believe me he is a good player.SAF was raving about his movement this week.think he knows agood player.gd luck this season.i stayed in gravesend for a number of yrs and have a soft spot for spurs

Agree6 Disagree1

I agree, i'm a spurs fan. what's wrong with hooper?! as you put it good goalscorer and with the quality service we provide, I think this could work. I would rather pay 8-10m on a player that would put his all in and play for the shirt then some foreign pre-maddonna who just wants to pick up his 80k plus a week and when the going gets tough just dissapears in matches. I like this signing at if its true he's a life long spurs fan then to me its a no-brainer.

Hi All,

Due to sandro being ruled out for the rest of the season, we are going to sign diame from west ham. Update on incoming striker it looks like hooper is staying at celtic till the end of the season due to celtic being in champs league. But there are reports that a striker from portugal is coming in for around £10 mil (no name yet)

Many thanks

Andre

Rumour has it spurs are in the race for Philippe Coutinho hope its true.
Also like to add Holtby deal looks like it will be summer one not in January according to reports on tv.

We won't be signing a Wolf to a Coutinho. Typical press hype with no factual truth.

Diame from west ham; tottenham bound!

Believable5 Unbelievable13

This looks more likely than most. I'm still hoping for Belhanda on the last day, but I think if anything we will sign 1 of either Diame or Hooper. Maybe both.

Adam

If any top 4 club want him it'll be Arsenal.

Not Tottenham bound.

With Sandro injured and a release clause of £3.5m, he does represent a great squad player with investment value. I personally believe he could develop into a top player in a bigger team, and with players like Jenas and Bentley kicking around there could be a deal to be had. I am sure big same would swap him for Huddlestone all day long, lets hope Levy can orchestrate a swap for Jenas.

Belhanda looks very good why don't we try for him now instead of the usual wait till everybody's after him price doubles

Agree1 Disagree3

I'm rather baffled that Tottenham are "after" Diame. 25 and has a 3.5 release clause, but we're not after Moussa Sissoko who is 23 with a 2.5 fee and have been interested in previously. Either deal has Levy written all over it but I'm a huge believer in Sissoko and who much rather have him. He looks to be off to Newcastle anyways, but we should've tried.

Agree4 Disagree2

Diame is proven in the EPL, Sissoko is more of a gamble.

ou812 - Have you seen all the stories in the press where Laurent Nicollin has been linking Belhanda with every club he can possibly think of? He's trying to start a bidding war, so it is likely that any clubs who are interested in him will wait until the end of the transfer window before making a bid to avoid having to pay over the odds. With Belhanda away at AFCON at the moment as well, there are probably many eyes on him at the moment waiting to see what happens to Morocco.

Rather be bidding early against the likes of Fenerbahce for a really good player than waiting till the big boys decide to take a gamble on his undoubted talents

Hi All,

Holtby to sign before the end of the window for around £1.5 mil. A striker will be coming in and rumours have it that it is hooper from celtic for around £8 mil.

Many thanks

Andre.

I'd laugh if this was AVB giving us a little hint

Agree8 Disagree3

The only Hooper associated with Spurs was Percy Hooper. A talented goal keeper 1934-1939, who was as agile as Lloris with the presence of Shilton.

Gary Hooper is an mediocre striker who will end up at a mediocre club like Norwich. The days of signing Andy Booth type players in an emergency are over.

The Oracle

Agree7 Disagree7

I wouldn't rule out a move for Hooper, Oracle. It is possible that for the right price Levy will bring him in as 3rd choice striker. He would be decent cover as he thrives on the kind of chances that spurs make every match. As Defoe is on the wrong side of 30 and Adebayor is likely to leave in the summer, Levy may opt to get Hooper in now and wait for a more prolific striker to become available in the summer.

Personally I would rather we just stayed with the options we have already and use our budget elsewhere, and I think AVB agrees.

Adam

Agree0 Disagree3

If Hooper thinks he will be third choice he would likely stay at Celtic and play CL, well at least 2 more games, up his value perhaps and move in the summer.

Agree2 Disagree1

I don't know, he is a self-confessed spurs fan and I think he would jump at the opportunity to prove himself to us.

Apparently we are looking at the form of Watford's loan striker Matej Vydra. I've seen him play once or twice and he looks decent, potentially brilliant, but not exactly what we need at the moment. Ed, do you know of any information regarding this? {Ed001's Note - Udinese are asking a large fee, well for anyone other than Watford, a number of clubs have checked up on him though. I was told that he was 'impressive' and 'worth keeping an eye on for the future'. I would take that to mean he is not being tagged for a bid this window, maybe the summer though.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Not happening. The Pozzo family own both Watford and Udinese (hence all the loanees) so given his form for Watford they'd expect a massive fee to lure him away from either club.

Odds are, he'll join Watford permanently. Especially since th ePozzo's also said Watford are their priority project at the moment.
Plus there are far more appropriate targets Spurs could go for.
