Just had confirmation that Levy will instead
sign Saldado.

I so hope your right, what's your source? Ed do you have any info on this thanks. {Ed001's Note - last I heard he was not interested in playing in England, at least that is what his reps told one enquiry from an English team.}

I say we try and get someone like milito off inter or gomis off Lyon. We desperately need a striker sooner rather than later and either 1 of them would be good

Levy wants Tevez on loan and has also enquired about Soldado recently.

Believable9 Unbelievable10

Sold ado may be available now, as well ad mst of the Valencia team as they have been sighted over a £68million debt.
They could go into liquidation. There could be a fire sale.
Mr levy's dream scenario for a club selling to spurs!!

Agree4 Disagree2

Tevez would be amazing but never going to happen. He wants to go back home.

Ed, what's this about Lewis Holtby having a medical at the lodge and she is he joining.? and what's this bout hooper? {Ed001's Note - last I heard the Holtby deal wasn't done yet, but it is expected to be completed soon. Hooper has been the subject of recent interest, whether that interest is solid interest or just to put pressure on other targets, well I can't be sure. I am not sure that the rumours of AVB being at the game are true last night, but Spurs defo had a party there. I am just wondering, and this is pure conjecture on my part, if the target might actually be Wanyama, with Sandro out for the rest of the season.}

Believable4 Unbelievable1

I was thinking the same thing ED, but I think we're also being a little wishful.
Wanyama's stock has risen since his barca goal and may be out of Levy's price range.
If anything I'd put my money on them scouting Hooper primarily

Ed, there's a lot of news bout players who can be coming in but nothing bout deadwood like Jenas Bentley and Gomes going out. Is anything happening with them?

KK {Ed001's Note - the issue is getting someone to take them. They are all up for grabs, but no one is taking them yet. Maybe they will see some last minute deals, as a team loses someone and needs to replace them quick. Otherwise it will be a case of getting a loan deal to save on their wages.}

Holtby will sign this January.

Negrado on loan.

New stadium will start 2 weeks after the season
has finished.

Avb will be offered a new contract in summer if he
successfully manages to secure 4th.

If successful he will have 40m to spend on transfer targets.

The Channeller

Believable6 Unbelievable11

Are you the New Oracle but actually know everything! Wait til The Oracle reads your post, he thinks we are getting the Olympic Staduim!

The Rabbit

Agree9 Disagree1

Why does this guy instantly sound like the new oracle? Lol

Agree10 Disagree0

Oracle's alter ego ?

Agree6 Disagree2

Just had confirmation that Levy is looking to strike a deal for roberto Saldado.

Levy is unwilling to spend over 14m for him though.

Negrado deal still stands as another option.

The Channeller

Agree2 Disagree5

The rabbit, that is hilarious. The Olympic stadium was only a tease to get haringay council to buck up and confirm our plans.

The oracle should know Levy has already signed and accepted around 30m from the council to start building.

Building will start 2 weeks once season has ended.

The channeller.

Agree0 Disagree5

Write like the oracle, expect the same kind of abuse if/when these things don't come true-just saying what everyones thinking
Royal Yid

Agree1 Disagree5

Royal yid, I have no connection with the oracle.

If I am right will I gain the respect?

I have named 1 certain signing and two possible signings.

Just have to wait and see.

The Channeler

Agree2 Disagree6

The certain signing you talk about being Lewis Holtby who is already a done deal...

Not exactly headline news... we all knew when sandro got injured it was about bargaining for a price for the deal to take place now.

As for the other two its names been banded around for 3-4 days now so again regurgatated information... hmmmm sounds like what the oracle does...

Yes your opinions etc but not exactly "Your" predictions just what has already been said on the site

NorthernSpur

Agree2 Disagree5

I can confirm that I don't know this new impersonator, but I can spot a very glaring difference.

I have always been seemingly arrogant in my style like him, I have always talked as if I am the source of boardroom knowledge like him, I have been a stuck record like him, but at least my rumours (facts) have been contrary to the press and mainstream views.

This imposter has simply taken my style, and adopted a cut and paste tactic from the rags. Perhaps he might confirm that Sainsbury"s are within the Northumberland Park Project, that we will be playing in lilywhite next season, or that we would buy Lionel Messi if Barcelona offered him to us for £10m.

In summary all the arrogance and guile, but simply nothing more than cheap newspaper recital.

The Oracle

Agree5 Disagree0

Northenspur, if you say so.

It's trolls like you who ruin sites like these.

everything that's already been mentioned in the media can not be posted because northenspur will have a hissy fit.

I don't get my info from pathetic newspapers and stupid media sources like or goal. My info comes directly from inside the club.

The Channeller

Agree2 Disagree4

I honestly thought you were the oracle and apologise for being wrong.

Like I said were all spurs fans and I am all for everyone having an opinion...

Just annoying when people say they are ITK and then come onto the site repeating what has been said in other posts..

I hope you are right in your predictions however I think its pretty clear the holtby rumour and stadium are pretty much done deals

ps you are the unknown here, At least northernspur has a reputation.

how dare you say northernspur ruins sites like this. This site is great with n.spur, if anything its the the arrogant posters like you and oracle who bring any sort of problems with your assuredness about all your ITK info, when all of us know things in life are rarely certain until contracts are done and actual ITK people wouldn't post here out of fear of losing their jobs-but both of you still write that way.

Royal Yid

Agree1 Disagree5

NorthernSpur, sorry for going over the top.

I suppose the media did confirm that before so I do understand why you said what you said.

I was merely trying to put The oracle in his place.

The Channeller

Agree1 Disagree4

He still could be, I wouldn't put anything past the fruit bat that is the Oracle! All very boring...

Agree0 Disagree4

NorthernSpur, I'm sorry for my outburst.

I hope to prove you wrong very soon.

The Channeller.

Agree1 Disagree4

Nice to see some humility on here for a change.

It also good to see some posts that actually have some balance and (if you'll excuse the pun) grounding to them.

Why Oracle continues to bleat that we are going to the Olympic stadium is beyond me for example. Plans have been done, re-done and done again, monies committed for our current site and legally binding contracts signed - to stay where we are. The biggest factor is that the date for the second (and final) round of bidding for the Stratford site came to an end last March and unless we have changed our name to one of either
1. West Ham United FC
2. Intelligent Transport Services (incorporating -)
3. F1
4. UCFB College of Football Business or
5. Layton Orient FC

Then we were not one of the submitted bids. Which means we are not even in the running for it. Something we all know, but he continually fails to understand....

Believable5 Unbelievable9

Would love to see tevez at WHL, but can't see it happening. I feel we have more chance with Damiao, but will prob end up with Hooper

Agree4 Disagree1

23 Jan 2013 14:51:23
Just to clear a few things up, Levy and AVB aren't playing their cards close to their chest, we aren't going to spend big this window especially not on the top drawer striker we desperately need. As for those saying Gary Hooper would be a smart signing, can you really imagine any other team with top 4 pretensions even being linked with him, Man Utd, Chavski and Citeh? Don't make me laugh and even Woolwich Wanderers and Newcastle aim higher than that despite being in even tighter financial situations than us. The problem is Levy, he can't accept that you occasionally have to spend big to achieve long-term success, I'm not talkinh Citeh/Chavski levels but with a 20m striker (and remember, Villa spent more than that on Bent) we would have broken down QPR and Man Utd and been much more likely to secure champs League.Until we get a chairman with a different approach we are never going to get the grade A striker all consistently successful teams have.

Believable7 Unbelievable10

23 Jan 2013 15:41:28
... AVB wasn't watching hooper after all... just media crap!

Agree6 Disagree2

Another unrealistic levy hater ! Levy / SUgar to be fair have hot tottenham running soundly and with long term visions, the youth/academy is coning on well fantastic potential and until we get a bigger stadium doubling out match day income we don't have 20-30 m for 1player
With the new stadium comes naming rights and I believe only them will we see big 1st team investment / potential sale of club

COYS
Essex spurs

Agree2 Disagree3

Oh my goodness, historically forwards playing for celtic that have been bought on the cheap by English clubs have done well.Hooper is no different. He is a proven goal scorer and link up player not like some playing for spurs that take a touch then shoot(always). He would be a rave for spurs, playing with two wingers.

Agree3 Disagree3

Villa spent more than 20m on Bent did they, well that worked well didn't it?!

Agree2 Disagree2

Hooper is a midtable player. Why do you think no giant clubs are after him?

Agree0 Disagree2

Spurs a giant club ?

Agree4 Disagree3

Another unrealistic levy hater ! Levy / SUgar to be fair have hot tottenham running soundly and with long term visions
Those of us who actually went to Spurs when Sugar was in charge will tell you that far from 'running soundly' we flirted with relegation and the football was absolutely dire. As for Levys 'longterm vision' well it's bl**dy long term because we've been waiting nearly 5 years for an adequate replacement for Berbatov! I don't think pointing out that Hooper isn't the player we need is unrealistic just a statement of fact. Also wasn't saying we should buy Bent for 20m but was saying if a club like Villa can spend that sort of money then we should be able to as well, albeit on a better player. Levy hater? I don't think he's a bad man just a bad chairman. Does anyone disagree that having 1 (1 ffs) experienced striker at the club in midseason is a bit amateurish and doesn't help us get top 4?

Agree2 Disagree2

Levy a bad chairman? Sorry mate but you are deluded. Levy deserves a lot of credit for the turnaround at WHL. He is exceptionally ambitious and just like everyone has made mistakes.
We now have a stable club-we are firmly in place for the new rules to be implemented on HG players and also runs a tight financial ship. Not only that he has secured some of the biggest sponsorships in World football-the Mansion deal was phenomenal. Having different sponsors for the cup games was visionary.

I appreciate you are annoyed we aren't p*ssing money on any available player and paying over the odds. The fact is we don't have a billionaire in charge and that is beneficial for the longevity of the club. We cannot adhere to the City and Chelsea policy of buy high and sell low as it will kill the club. I think someone like damiao could be good for us and in years to come but I don't think spending £25-30m on a relatively unproven player is the way forward. It was the same with Oscar in the summer-good potential no one knew if he would succeed in the EPL and we couldn't afford to throw £20 odd million and a take the risk.

The one thing you are correct on is that it is a long term plan. Need to accept that we can't be in the money throwing group-and to be fair to Levy and Enic they have backed every manager with funds. defoe, crouch, bent, bentley, berba, modric, dembele, pavlychenko, palacios, lloris have all been signed for close to £10m or more.

Don't mind you having your opinion but can't say we haven't spent money over the years.

The Monocle

Agree4 Disagree3

24 Jan 2013 23:25:22
To all the Levy groupies a few questions.

1. Is having 1 proper striker an acceptable situation for a team chasing a CL place?

2. Berbatov was sold for £30m years ago and we've had money for Crouch and Pav since, why hasn't some of it been reinvested in a top drawer striker?

3. Last season we finished 4th but scored far fewer goals than all other top 5 clubs, why wasn't this addressed?

4. Levy a good chairman? He undermined Jol who had got us two top 5 finishes and replaced him with a Spanish bloke who couldn't speak English and had no intention of learning it, result= near relegation, good chairmanship?

I don't want to waste money on unrealistic players but I do think given the profit we've made on transfer dealings we could spend £15-20 million on a decent striker as we are sorely lacking firepower now. As for being financially well run, if that's what gets you going I suggest you look on the FT website for your kicks.

Agree0 Disagree2

I will take it upon myself to answer the questions you have posed:

1. No it is not acceptable but far better than panic buying, spending 10-15m on a player we don't need that isn't good enough and will have to be replaced in the not too distant future. There is no point buying a player that isn't the right fit for the club and won't perform the role required. We are light in the striker department I won't deny that.

2. I would again refer to point 1 and argue the same. There has however been substancial reinvestment in the club since those sales. Along with a few new bumper contracts and FYI signing on fees come from the same pot. Adebayor was also likely to have recived a large sum to compensate for the shortfall in wages.

3. I don't think it is relevant on the amount of goals scored as if we were to win 30 of our 38 PL games 1-0 that would suffice in securing top 4 and I would rather consistent results than the occasional demolision of a team. 5 x 1-0 victories is better than 1 x 5-0 victory so not really sure what the purpose of this argument is.

4. I am of the belief that Jol had taken us as far as he could, I did like the man and I still do but football is a ruthless game and if you want to progress then there is no room for sentiment. Ramos at the time was widely tipped as one of the best emerging managers in the game at that time and it was a coup that we were able to secure him. Ramos also guided us to our first trophy since 2001 and pretty much got us to the final the following year. If you were well informed you would be aware that the players had revolted as they were not keen on the fitness, diet and training regime implemented on them. In the same way AVB was a victim of player power during his time at Chelsea.

I am pleased to hear you don't want to waste money but I will again refer you to point 1 & 2 and I will also add that Adebayor was the best player we were able to secure in that position.

Again you demonstrate a severe lack of knowledge when it comes to running a football club. Just like any business it cost money to run, the training ground development, the stadium development, wages, transfers, maintenance etc.

Finally thank you for the tip I have been on the FT website very good reading. For the record this is not Football Manager; fortunately we have astute people in charge of the club as opposed to people that share your views as we would have been run into the ground a few decades ago. As a club we are now in a strong position with minimal debt in comparisson to other clubs with a state of the art training facility soon to be coupled with a state of the art stadium. A great manager who will hopefully be at the healm for a long while to give us the stability we need. Or would you rather revert back to chop shop Arry and Irvine Scholar?

We must not be spoilt as fans and appreciate that 10 years ago the prospect of CL was dim. Looking forward it appears with the right moves we can establish ourselves as a permenant fixture in the top 4 for a few years to come.

Agree1 Disagree2

Well, thanks for answering politely (if a little pompously and patronisingly) However, you do make a few incorrect assumptions and assertions especially as regards points 1 and 2. You agree that having 1 striker is a ridiculous position to be in but review to criticize Levy about it and then say we shouldn't spend any money to rectify the situation, which seems odd.
You also big up Ramos and Levy for getting him but the fact is that he never bothered to learn English, took us to our worst ever start to a season and was sacked in less than a year surely the buck for this stops with Levy but again for you he is above criticism. You also make 1 fair point, Ramos got us a trophy (albeit with Jols squad) but to say he basically got us to next years final is laughable, he was sacked in October and the final was in March! I also don't remember calling for the return of HR or Scholar so am not sure where you got that from. I also disagree that Adebayor was the absolute best striker we could have got last Summer, we had a huge fee in from Modric and even allowing for the fee we paid for Dembele we still could have spent 15m or so on a decent striker and banked a few quid to keep the beancounters like you happy!

Agree0 Disagree1

Dear Mr Oracle

If you take a wander down High Road N17 WHL you might notice that a massive Supermarket which is the first part of the Redevelopment of the site is well underway. All the Old Spurs brick buildings are boarded up and empty ready to be demolished. So wake up mate we are not going to the Olympic Stadium.........and by the by will you promise us all that when your foolishness is exposed once again next week that you will leave this site forever ? PLEASE

Believable8 Unbelievable5

I think ignoring him is probably the best course of action. If he didn't get the amount of attention he does on this site, he would most likely stop. Just act like he doesn't exist and he'll go away.

Agree4 Disagree6

He has probably never been to WHL !

Agree2 Disagree4

Hearing some links with Vitesse Arnhem striker Wilfried Bony. Currently with Ivory Coast at ACN. Looks an absolute beast of a striker and knows where the net is. Check out some of his goals for Vitesse. Looks exactly the type we need. 24 years old, 6ft quick/strong. {Ed002's Note - Wilfried Bony was of interest to Newcastle over the summer and has been a player Chelsea have been considering for a while. Recently there has been varying degrees of interest from Marseille, Aston Villa, QPR, Liverpool, Everton and a couple of German sides (Hamburg and Schalke) but only Marseille is pushing. It would not be a surprise to see interest from other teams, possibly Napoli and Roma. The player has said he would like to join Chelsea. Whilst an offer is imminent from one side and efforts are being made to get interest from Russia, any move in January is by no means certain and he will be away at the ACON until the middle of February.}

Agree0 Disagree5

Anyone would believe that the new stadium was built by the vision you have reported. The shops have been slowly purchasd over the last 5 years, and you would have people believe that the new Sainsbury's is open and serving fresh fruit.

The point you miss is that something will be built there regardless of whether I am right or wrong. There is no doubt that the houses, school, showrooms will be built. These were under separate proposals already approved. If the infrastructure and residential and commercial project were a roaring success, changing the planning permission to remove the stadium nd build additional residential and commercial business units would be relatively simple. The council have already approved the request to demolish the listed buildings in the project, and the bule print techniclly makes the value of the land increase substantially. Do not make the mistake of thinking that the costs already apportioned are anyway near the costs involved in building the final stadium. We have already drawn up the proposals for both the Olympic Stadium as well as the Northumberland Park, and actually it would be cheaper to ditch the Northumberland Park proposal as there is so many more legal hurdles to be overcome.

When they start build the new stadiu I will be the first to admit if I was wrong, but when the houses and school and shops materialise and the foundations for the stadium are still not in you might want to ask yourselves why !

The Oracle

Agree4 Disagree0

Now, would it be in enic's best interest to build and own its own multi hundred million pound stadium, mostly paid for by sponsorship and advertising or borrow a stadium and pay rent to a local council.
It's not that difficult to work out even for you oracle is it.

Agree0 Disagree3

Daniel Levy has stated that the new stadium will be under construction this year and after we posted a loss for the last financial year the dreams of getting the much needed 20-30m striker I fear are pipe dreams! Stated losses will rule out Damio(spelling) and once and for all stop the boreacles speel!Last sentence more in hope?

The Greek

Agree0 Disagree3

To be fair, I think The Oracle may have a point as it does sound viable. Why it has taken this long to release this information I never know!

I still think we will not get the Olympic staduim as that was used to cut some of the costs of the intrastructure and red tape.

The Rabbit

Agree3 Disagree0

The last time I checked, only 4 parties retendered for the Olympic stadium.
Spurs or AEG wasn't one of them.
That, for me, rules us out.

I like how when I mentioned Gary Hooper a couple weeks ago it got written off as a stupid move and that he's not good enough, now that we are generally showing an interest apparently he'll be a good signing. MAKE YOUR MINDS UP

Believable5 Unbelievable9

I don't want him. hardly world class striker that will take us to the next level.

I can't beleive Damiao isn't signed for £20m. All the monerry we have saved not spending. come on Levy. If we had him we would of thrashed Man Utd

Jon

Agree10 Disagree6

Hooper would just be a new Raziak!!

Agree9 Disagree3

It isn't that we want him what we are saying if no one else is coming in he MAY be able to do a job but I don't think, at the beginning if the window when we envisaged a striker coming in it was him (only you did) and please please sign your name and we would know it was you who wanted him

cheers

derbyshire dave

Agree3 Disagree1

If AVB was there I'd say he was there look to at their midfielder Wanyama, Hooper is not at the standard of a Top 4 team. I still have an inkling we will sign a forward and I think it will be Negredo of Seville. They're in financial trouble and DL will do a deal on the 31st to ensure he pays as little as possible. This is not a rumour just my own thoughts. Do any of my fellow people have any thoughts or do any of the Ed's have nay thoughts?

Stuart {Ed001's Note - Spurs are still talking to Sevilla, it does seem Negredo is the number one target for the striker position. The question I would ask though, is what would that mean for Adebayor? They are very similar players, if Negredo can be completed, I can't see Adebayor and him playing as a pair. Would it mean he leaves in the summer?}

Agree2 Disagree2

Well Ed.. you made my day saying we still in for Negredo.. and Hooper doesn't really seem that bad.. he'd be a decent or great second choice striker in a line striker system!

Agree3 Disagree3

The trouble is we want champs league and Levy thinks we can get it by shopping in pound land! Bargains like Michu are few and far between! We lost £4.3mill last year by not qualifying ( yes chelsea were lucky but if we had invested properly in the jan window we wouldn't of thrown away 10 points to the gooners an qualified instead of them). Other than the lack of striking options I think the team is looking strong. Negredo please mr Levy
Wycombe spur.

Agree3 Disagree2

Thanks Ed001 for your reply and for the optimisim you have given us Spurs fans that we are still in talks with Negredo! As for Adebayor, I like the player he does do a lot for the team although scoring record has been poor this season, but feel injury and lack of fitness warrant this. Where it leaves him who knows, but we need someone to hold the ball up and I guess if Negredo is the man then so be it and he knows how to score! As for Damaio I gave up on that player a year ago

Agree5 Disagree1

Negredo is a different player than Ade, he likes to get in the box and be a threat and he is pretty good in the air too. He can play as a lone striker and in a pairing. He'd be a great addition imo

Agree2 Disagree1

We won't be able to get rid of Ade as City won't subsidize his wages if we move him on. He isn't taking a paycut to play elsewhere - he's proved that with City. We're going to keep him until 2014 when his contract is done.

Agree1 Disagree0

Spurs to sign Inter Milan's energetic midfielder Fredy Guarin. Guarin was part of Andre Villas Boas' Porto side that went a whole season unbeaten in the 2011/2012 season. He would fill the gap left by the injured Sandro who has been ruled out for the rest of the season. {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath over Guarin joining.}

Believable3 Unbelievable5

People need to stop just regurgitating bad journalism. We will not sign Guarin for a long time, if ever.
