Live out in brazil and it is being reported that our bid for damaio has been accepted. reports very with regards to what the fee is as they say it is between 18m - 30m. 1 report states they have been told that the player will sign for spurs and that the fee is 22m upfront with add ons like getting into cl, amount of goals he scores, once he has played 60 games for the club another 2.5m will be payed and if he goes to a bigger club they will get 15% from what we make, just like when we got modric.

Flippit I respect you because you at least write content of value. Most of the boo boys on here are not man enough to admit they were wrong. They want to take my post of Vertonghen, Sigurdson, Adebayor, Damiao and The Olympic stadium and retrospectively say there were rumours on all. Well we have been linked with Demba Ba, Papiss Cisse, Falcao, Llorente, Kaka, Meireles, Hazard, Sturridge, Cavani, Rossi, Krasic, Diarra, Robben and even Berbatov to name a tiny number of the total.
What these clowns need to realise is I posted months ago and my only apology is
being a stick record on the same players. Damiao has already finalised terms to play for Spurs and the final allocation of number nine along with legal contracts is imminent.
Lastly to the same poopers regarding White Hart Lane developments. Have you stopped to think what will happen to the current land if we move to the Olympic Stadium? Did you think the ground would stay as a museum or something. Are you not aware of the plans to redevelop Northumberland Park as a residential and commercial area? I am sure that even you realise that a major construction land clearance will happen regardless of whether we stay or go. Soon when Damiao is wearing No. 9 and all my predictions from the 100s linked are here, even you might start believing in the Zolympic Stadium. So my final question is simple "Has the London Legacy Development Corporation agreed a tenure with anyone for the stadium"? Are you proposing our Nationsl stadium become a baseball arena or a cricket ground for Essex? Perhaps you think Leyton Prient will move there or maybe even Formula One. I know you think it will be an Athletics stadium because every venue is always 1/4 full and has to give away thousands of free tickets to schools to get even the smallest crowd along. I can see the government writing off a a billion or two because of its love for Lord Sebastian Coe. I am sure even the sceptics amongst you realise only a stable premiership football club could provide anyway near the revenues required to make this work. Soon Spurs will rejoin the fanfare as OPLC get closer to selecting their Tenant. For those who attended the Olympics I am sure you felt the magic, and soon a golden cockerel will be watching over you.
The Oracle
{Ed008's Note - The Real Oracle.
Agree1
Disagree1
Thanks oracle.
I have said it before and I'll say it again - although I really really hope your stadium prediction is wrong, I pray that Damiaos signing will happen. Yes I know you'll gloat (as would I if I was in your shoes), but boy what a signing he'd be and what a fantastic chance we would have of actually doing something of note. I'd happily eat humble pie served with a large glass of ice cold "told you so" for a Damiaos signing.
Flippit
Agree1
Disagree0
Flippit all I wanted to ever do was provide a real insight in the transfer targets. Contraryto the abuse I have received, I think the educated like you are beginning to see that I wasn't so mad.
Love it or hate it the Olympic stadium will happen and Vertonghen, Siggurdsson, Adebayor, Damiao and a midfield replacement for Modric are all certainties.
I probably brought some of this on myself with the over confidence, but sadly when you know it is hard not to sound arrogant. I am a Spurs fan and am therefore as excited as the rest of you, and soon we will have the tools to deliver the pride we all dream about.
The Oracle {Ed008's Note - Confirmed The Oracle
Agree0

You have proved many a time that you are a Spurs fan. No doubt about that Oracle. Your gooner bashing is legendary and I read it in ore of the clever way you put them down every time.
I agree with you though, your extremly confident manner has got my back up in the past as it sometimes comes across as arrogant or patronising. But we all have our faults.
Your posts are often informative, sometimes funny but always well written. I live in a free country, I presume you do to. So carry on old chap is what I say - although I will continue to speak up if I disagree with you.

The cull has begun!
Bassong today, Daw's tomorrow [ :-( but £9million for a 28 year old injury prone defender who has lost what little pace he had is far to good to turn down]. Expect Bentley to also be sold, along with Jenas and GDS. I for one won't be sheedng a tear for these three. We all know Danny Rose and T'hudd will also leave on loan. But will they return? Probably not!
Michael Dawson gave his all for our club and for that we salute you sir. I am sure you will be applauded upon your return on match days just like all our hard working ex-players have been. Goodbye and good luck to Daw's - except two games a year of course !

Ed's have we signed Bruno uvini and ezikiel fryers because if so, Dawson could leave and we would have enough cover for Vert & kaboul. We could use the money for rat boy modders' replacement.
Thanks in advance

9 million for Dawson if true is a top bit of business by Levy QPR have got a decent centre half and he'd only be sat on the bench with us,it's coming up to squeaky bum time on transfers could be another VDV steal on the cards if Levy keeps his nerve

We have caulker as a young centre back as replacment for dawson and cover for vert and kaboul he has premier league experience with swansea last season so it will be fine for cover

Ed as we have signed adebayor, is there going to be another transfer for spurs? Hopefully a quality player to replace modric, hopefully moutinho but doubt levy will spend that much {Ed008's Note - I've said many times depends on the outs theirs a pattern if you see.

Ed for the people who have perhaps missed the pattern ... Please indulge us {Ed008's Note -
In
Gylfi Sigurdsson (Hoffenheim) Undisclosed
Jan Vertonghen (Ajax) Undisclosed
Emmanuel Adebayour (Man City) Undisclosed
Out
Ben Alnwick (Barnsley) Free
Vedran Corluka (Lokomotiv Moscow) Undisclosed
Niko Kranjcar (Dynamo Kiev) Undisclosed
Ryan Nelsen (Queens Park Rangers) Free
Steven Pienaar (Everton) £4.5m
Louis Saha (released)
Sebastien Bassong (Norwich)
Piennar and Kranjcar leave and Sigurdsson signs as cover for that position.
Corluka,Nelson and Bassong leave and Vertonghen signs in that position.
With Spurs the focus is getting rid of the deadwood players as above and bringing better more exciting players. Adebayor's loan deal was made permanent. I expect Modric to leave and a new midfielder to be brought in.
Just today QPR bidded 5.5m possibly going to 9m for Michael Dawson according to SSN.
Players like Bentley,Jenas,Gomes and maybe Huddlestone i imagine could be for sale if a acceptable offer is made.
This is my opinion so hope that covers what you wanted to know.
Agree3
Disagree1
Ok so Ade in , we still need another foward ( if one gets injured we are back to square one ) a Modric replacement or announce he stays full stop .
And a new keeper , and just finally to get it all of my chest why did Gallas start and why was Vertonghen on the bench .
Agree2
Disagree0
I think the vertonghen thing was the same as vdv. They both played 90 mins for their countries on the Wednesday.
Inmy opinion, they where only gonna be used if needed. {Ed008's Note - I said this on the day Gallas had a solid game you could say that if he was shocking but he was good on the day.
Agree0
Disagree0
Thanks ed it was that I was having a dig or anything I just thought I missed out on some ed vital itk ... * non sarcasm *
I Completley agree as well some people seemed to forget we had a very very full squad which needed slashing drastically
And I think like you said the people we bought in for all those who are gone are Great bits of buisness ...
I do believe in my opinion that as we have already started the the fire for the deadwood clearance the majority of the rest should be shipped also with perhaps 1 or 2
Out of jenas,Dawson*not saying he's deadwood just not fitting with AvB*,gomes,Bentley, huddlestone*same as Dawson* and perhaps gio only because of could leave for nothing soon ... Else he probably would/could fit well for us specially under the new system ....
And with these 5-7 more gone .... I truly feel 1-2 more signing will come this includes if/when modric goes ... Who I haven't a clue
*shrugs*
And enough to keep us the fans and levy and his books happy
Which talking of signings on the Gk
Front ed is there any decent keepers who potentially can come up or no ? Perhaps this is why we are / haven't signed a younger one yet ? {Ed008's Note - Names being linked Lloris,Julio Cesar and Butland that's all i can remember. I can't see a GK being brought in till next season just my opinion.

Two big injuries in 2 years hasn't helped him and he was never quick anyway. I remember him absolutely bossing Carroll around at WHL in the Xmas fixture a couple of years ago, it was embarrassing how Carroll couldn't get near him in the air and that was when he was on form.

I agree northernspur. I think caulker will be moved up. I even think gallas will be moved on too (eventually), maybe even too some kind of defensive coach. I think AVB likes him and his experience.
Verts, kaboul and caulker, along with a new signing, are our future. AVB knows this, only my opinion tho.
Agree2
Disagree1
I'd take the money, not that it will be anything like 10million. Dawson is a good traditional centre back, but he is too slow and too easily turned inside out. We have cover and the DM AVB is after may also be the type that could drop back if the main CBs get injured. Daws has had his day. As bus conductors used to say " All change please". {Ed008's Note - Some people gotta understand is too play a high line you need to have players comfortable with the ball at his feet have good pace and versatile Dawson is only 1 out of the 3 he was injury prone no doubt he's a good CB just look at Terry for Chelsea when AVB played a high line he cost them so many goals because he wasn't quick enough and he's one of the best CB's in the world.
Agree3
Disagree1
A new signing, so we're after a CB when we have proven Prem CBs, a defensive midfielder when we have 3 of those and are selling our best play-maker/dictator, we have one Prem striker who can't lead the line and has bench-warmed for a lot of the past 2 years.....anybody think that if you chuck in the talk of a new keeper as well that we really haven't got much of a clue what we're doing, this season is a write-off already as 'transitional' as far as the board go it seems. Would love to see Llorente AND Ade and Moutinho/equivalent arrive to make that all untrue but most likely Ade only when we had him last year already so overall we're as thin as we were from Jan last season (thinner)
Agree1
Disagree3
Would be happy if Fryers comes in along with Vertonghen, Kaboul and Caulker. Fryers can also provide left back cover along with Naughton for BAE. Wouldn't mind seeing Cissokho though, and Naughton to provide cover for Walker and RB.

He was showing damaio around the Olympic stadium.
He spoke to him like a patronising sh.t too

Ed, what do you think of Miralem Pjanic. Is he a good replacement for modders. I would much prefer moutinho. I have a sneaky feeling that deal is not over. Hope so anyway. {Ed041's Note - Pjanic is a good player, that be in our price range looking 15 mill i think for him he didnt do 2 well at lyon but the boy has talent and could blossom in our team, moutinho is every1 ones fav choice but sadly i think we will be priced out of a move.

There is absolutely no reason why he would wanna join us. It won't happen. He wants CL and money. We can't offer either.
This is just tabloid/itk rubbish.
Even his agent , who commented today about 2 prem clubs, is not even his agent.
He will join juventus, Bilbao/llorente putting stories out for more money.

Darren Bent fee has been agreed! Have to iron out wages but expect this one to go through.
Believable8
Unbelievable16
Now after all my Berbs suggestions meeting with a mixed response, if anybody thinks Bent would be better at £15-20m than Berbs at £5m then they are mental ?? Surely we should be banging down the door for Llorente at £16-17m, outbidding Juve and getting a chance to talk to him rather than probably lodging a speculative £10-11m that has already been beaten.
Agree6
Disagree3
The rumored prices of both Llorente and Bent are exactly why I find the talk of Bent somewhat silly.
Agree2
Disagree1
Lorrente wont come we cant give him CL football simple has that and levy wont offer the wages juve or city will so its pointless and has for bent no way will villa sell him for a half decent price without him they will be relagated and i belive he still has 3 years on his contract so in reality it just isnt going to happen most viable options are still Cardoza,Carroll and maybe sturridge/muller even though persoanlly i think a very late 14 mill offer will be made for andy carroll either one of the two would suit the style of play.
Agree0

Bent plays upfront on his own much better than berba. Berba is to lazy to be the lone man.

English scorer most seasons, goes to Sunderland average team scores loads goes to Villa crap team still scores goals and if he hadn't got injured would have been up there with top scores again.
Then there's the Spurs very good team scors

Sorry sent to early, as I was saying goes to you very good team (I'm a Charlton fan) still scores goals misses loads but I think he would be better second time around. I think with the players you have now he would be mustard.

I can't believe those who favour a move for Bent!!!!!!!!! or those who are even luke warm on the idea!!!!!!!! There is NO WAY AVB is going in for Bent surely!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a spurs fan but often went to watch Charlton in the darren bent days. He was brilliant and played upfront on his own. I'm not saying he is a better finisher than Defoe but the boy is alot better than Defoe at leading the line, hold up play and is a team player. Bent with sigg just behind and bale and lennon either side would be quality.

Eds do you think there is any truth in the dawson and huds rumours? If so do you think avb has lost the plot!! How can we keep losing quality players and replace the with, well nobady at the mo!! {Ed008's Note - Dawson and Huddlestone aren't quality players their good players just pointing that out, I'd imagine if they were looking to sell they'd have replacements in their mind. You gotta understand with a tactic that includes a high line and pressing a lot Dawson and Huddlestone don't fit in for me just a opinion. I think they will replace Bassong though.
Believable7
Unbelievable1
Was dawson not outstanding for us two seasons ago? and burst into the england squad through great performences! plus huds to!! obviously not into the england squad but his performences were top draw before his injures.eds Could you see us signing any1 that would make into our starting 11 apart from a striker? {Ed008's Note - Adam Johnson ?
Agree3

That would be nice!! bale to play up top if that were to happen maybe. {Ed008's Note - I was thinking Adam Johnson on the right Van Der Vaart middle Bale on the left playing behind Adebayor (if he signs) i defo think Adam is better then Lennon..
Agree3
Disagree1
Adam Johnsons dead ball delivery is superb.
Maybe (hopefully) AVB has seen the weakness there.
Agree1
Disagree1
Regardless of your thoughts on whether Lennon or Johnson is better (for me Lennon edges it) the point is somewhat moot as there's no way Lennon can last a whole season without injury. He either needs to be rotated to give his legs more rest or we need other people that can play that position.
Although there were a number of factors I don't think it was a coincidence that our slump at the beginning of the year happened whilst Lennon was out injured. Without him on the right the opposition defensive line could play much narrower which cramped the centre and caused us real issues with scoring as VDV had a long way to come to get involved and Ade was often forced wide to find space. With Lennon on the full back has to come to meet him which opens the gap between the CBs.
I thought GDS would have been a ready made replacement last year to step into that position but for whatever reason (probably laziness in training if you believe the rumours) HR didn't fancy giving him a proper run there. Maybe AVB likes him more, maybe his form over the summer has earnt him more of a role, or maybe nobody wants to pay anything for him in his last year.
I think the best players we can get are sweeping the top teams for their 2nd line, people too frustrated by a lack of playtime to worry so much about money or CL. Johnson is exactly that sort of player we should be going for.
Wulf.

Ed, it is confirmed fernando llorente is going to be speaking to two clubs on weds. one from manchester and one from London.
im guessing its man city as united have RVP. Is the London club us or arsenal do you know?
I am optimistic, however if he goes to city, is there any chance of us getting Dzeko as well as Ade? {Ed008's Note - Spurs and Manchester City are the interested clubs, maybe Chelsea if they can't strike a deal with Cavani 50/50 and Juventus are the favourites.

Looks like Bassong if off to Norwich. Anyone have an idea of what the transfer fee is?
We could potentially build up a very healthy transfer kitty after getting rid of Corluka (reported £5.5 million), Kranjcar (reported £5.5 million), Pienaar (reported £4.5 million), Pavlyuchenko (reported £7.5 million in Jan) and Bassong (? million) with the potential sales of Modric, Bentley, Jenas, Rose Dos Santos and Gomes still to come.
And we've only signed Vertonghen (£9 million) and Sigurdsson (£7 million) so far.
There are also rumours of Daws and Thudd going, but personally I'd like to hold onto them as I think they're both very useful players to have in the squad.
Believable6
Unbelievable1
We have to cover the loss of revenue from not being in the CL for 2 consecutive seasons. Hence the squad is being reduced & finances kept in check.
Agree1
Disagree1
More likely the cash outlaid for the new training facility, 30m I believe.
Agree0
Disagree0
If we assume that based on his form and playing time over the last couple of years, Bassongs fee is somewhere in the region of £4million, then total incoming from transfers is £27million. That almost covers the cost of the new training ground. However, what hasn't been taken into account yet is what will happen to the land at Spurs Logde? I guessing that it will be sold to the highest bidder thus creating even more wonger....

Spurs Lodge not worth sod all compared, 3-4 million tops

Just a suggestion .... Fellani proved again last night he can perform at top after an impressive season last year. Just IMO I think he would be a good replacement for modric , would only cost 18-24 million I'd say and he's young enough for sell on . Anyone agree ? Also ed would marchiso be a viable option? ( don't follow serie A )
Jay-B-13
{Ed008's Note -Chelsea have interest in Fellaini don't expect a bid for Spurs, Marchisio would not be interested in a move recently signed a new contract and although he's class and would easily for me capable of replacing Modric.
Believable2
Unbelievable0
Too late to be on the Fellani band-wagon i'm afraid, he was the signing we should've made from them when we got Pienaar, £10-12m might have done it (Jan premium might've made it £13-14m) but we spent virtually nothing over that 2yr period and, even with Sig and Vert in, we've sold as much worth as them in this window. We're not spending anything net at all, Modric fee will not be all re-invested, even Everton have spent more on strikers in the past couple of years with 'no money'!

Bassong off to Norwich, £2.5m up front, with another £1.5m in add ons. So another fringe player off the books and I woud imagine around £30,000 a week saved on the wage bill, hopefully someone may come in and hopefully a striker!! fingers, toes and anything else crossed now.
