Ed's there's reports that Carlton cole has been seen training with the spurs squad. Is this true and does this mean that as he's a free agent having been released from wet spam that he could become this seasons saha?
Any thoughts? {Ed008's Note - I thought he was joining a German team can't remember the name of that team, he's such a average player i highly doubt it to be honest..

I thought he was going to join French side St Etienne. {Ed008's Note - That's the team where did i get German team i don't know

Apparently the st ettienne move fell through and he's now training with us. Not sure whether that means he's hoping we sign him or whether spurs are using him as a training aid.

Have no idea why Spurs would sign Cole. They already have four better forwards in the squad counting Deuce.
Agree1
Disagree1
They won't sign cole.
We let beckham and keane train with us recently just to help the player with his fitness. He needs a new club and needs to be match fit.
Fair play to spurs for helping him out.

Plenty of pro-clubs let players without clubs train with them in pre-season. Doesn't mean anything, it's just a common, professional courtesy in the sport.

We seem to be spending a lot of money. Is that Bale off to balance it off? I hope not!
Agree4
Disagree0
Hope so but think it will have to be 20m plus.
Agree0
Disagree4
I hope bale does go and before people have a go, the money coming in WILL get us champions league and we will become title contenders, I think bale is a fantastic player but we are tottenham and we will always be bigger than any player
Agree18

If you read the article it says we were the only prem club to bid for him and it got rejected
Agree2
Disagree1
What and we will be a better team without Bale! Id!ot
Agree4

I think he has some credibility in what he is trying to say, it was always going to be this season or next he was going to leave, let's wish him well take the money and build for the future
Agree7

Aint Shaktar or Zenit had a 21m bid accepted.
Agree5
Disagree1
It was shakter but he don't want to go, he's "not sure if the move suits him"

We need to get in a bid that Minero will accept and snap Bernad up before it's to late. Would add to the squad. If we are going to lose Bale and that looks likely this kid is top draw and a good replacement.

Hi, Ed's
I just wondered about who is most likely to replace bale e. g. lamela, fischer, jese rodriguez, etc {Ed002's Note - I cannot say "most likely" but I understand that an effort will be made to broker a deal for Willian. However, Anzhi will want to see a return on their investment and that could rule out a move at all.}

what about christian eriksen

Please not Willian, seems a good player but not for the 30+ mil it may cost to get him. We may already have the replacement in Chadli.

Personally, I'd love Lamela. Huge upside.

Hi Eds,
Is there any truth in Townsend wanting to leave?
Dom {Ed001's Note - yes, he has said he doesn't see himself getting the chance to play regularly. The arrival of Chadli seems to be the issue, as he thought this would be his year. Hence the public statement, to try and drum up some interest in him.}

Hi Eds,
Aren't Spurs going to have some Homegrown issues? If Bale leaves, Townsend leaves, Caulker's gone, Huddlestone leaves, Parker leaves, Livermore leaves etc. Then aren't we are little short on the ground for homegrown talent? Don't we require 8 squad players trained in the country and 4 trained by spurs? {Ed002's Note - Homegrown - a long time favourite of mine. It'll be fine.}
Agree0

Out of 25 man squad finding 4 players you trained yourself is easy. It's a joke, it hasn't changed anything just makes it seem young British players will actually get a chance when they won't. That pretty much sums it up right ed? {Ed002's Note - The starting point is regardless of the squad size, it is only allowable to have 17 non-homegrown players over 21.}

Daws carrol walker lennon rose naughton and then young players u23 can be classified as homegrown and not named in squad so its easy to get round the system

Can't beat a bit of homegrown hey ed!

Hi eds can you confirm that the chiriches deal is off, and if so why? Would be very disappointed if do what with caulker bring sold and this guy looks like vertongen mark2.
Tottenhamoxspur {Ed001's Note - I honestly don't know anything about that deal at all, sorry. I have asked since someone mentioned it yesterday, but haven't heard anything back yet. I wouldn't get too worried yet, sorting out fine details can take time, as we have seen with Soldado.}

Cheers yeah good point, I suppose the media are vert quick to call deals off when they just hit snags to make it all seem more dramatic.

Will the people who have been on levys back start to back him now. yep we all know we needed a striker I am glad we waited for the right man as opposed to a shara or rakidach he has so far bought some great signings this close season, bale or no bale I tnk this season we are going to b reel rine. barb
Agree4

Levy has taken a lot of stick but in fairness he has negotiated some cracking business for Spurs and won't be taken for a fool.
Soldado is an excellent signing. The gooners must be sick. We have signed three quality players. If Bale goes that would be a blow because he is unique. If we can get Di Maria as part of the deal and sort out our stupidness at the back I really believe we can make the top three.

Sounds like the deal is off, their owner is a bit of a nut job and has blocked the deal from prison. The coach has reiterated in the press today. {Ed001's Note - yeah, it is a weird one, all the details were supposedly ironed out between the 2 clubs and all he had to do is sign off on the deal, but he refused to. Seems everyone else was happy, just him. Odd situation there.}

Does make you wonder where all the money is coming from. personally I think the bale deal has been agreed but not put out there so we don't experience inflated prices. I so hopei am wrong and that these new guys convince bale white hart lane will bring success this time around

Dave there is no secret where the money is coming from. We are the 11th richest club in the world. Our net transfer spend for the last 3 years has been £0.
We have money.
