Ed

Who do you think spurs are realistically likely to sign before a) this weekend and b) before the close of the transfer window?

Good to hear your thoughts.
{Ed008's Note - I don't like speculating but a striker is top of the list whether it be Adebayor,Damiao etc unlikely to sign anyone by the weekend just my opinion...

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Now modric sold to real madrid. tottenham may sign sessegnon or mvila but will be battling with arsenal who also are after the same 2 players. Goalkeeper wont be sorted yet but probs not of major importance as we have friedel. be nice if adebayor give in and signed for us before saturday as we wont be getting striker signed before we play newcastle. got to start defoe surely

Agree0 Disagree3

Arsenal's interest in m'villa has cooled after his disciplinary problems, can't see why they would be after sessengnon {Ed008's Note - I'd imagine if Song goes Barca they would go for M'Vila (my opinion)

Agree0 Disagree0

I dnt give a flying fig who the filth sign, im just interested in who comes in at thfc. arsen moaner can sign who he likes, cause hes brought some good players, but on the other hand hes brought xsome real rubbishe, let avb get the job done of bringing in top notch players, and let that lot down the road wait another season for a trophy and b4 they say cl football, after all the seasons they have tried winning it ide give up by now

Agree1 Disagree3

As rat boy has gone i would expect mouthino to be confirmed next week along with a new offer for ramirez. not sure on mvilla. We all know levy will have a signing or some plan going on in the pipe line and behind closed doors, trust him and avb they will come through for us and the club.
I do believe there are plans in motion or why else would Defoe are main striker and only one be heading out the door possibly to seek first choice selection..!

AVB will be a great manager for us and we will thrash Newcastle.

Interesting seeing lloris plays for france tonight, when Lyon said he was injured/unwell for their game.
My guess is something is happening and he is maybe doing a modric.

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Maybe lloris will be going spurs pretty soon after modric signs for real madrid 2moro

Agree6 Disagree2

Modric will not be signing for RM today. Part of the agreement with them is that we have a replacement before he can leave!! This is a direct report from SSN!!

Agree1 Disagree0

Ha ha ha direct from SSN, love it.

Why not put a bid in for hernandez? with rvp joining and kagawa able to play no. 10, welbeck and chicarito will be on the bench.

Believable18 Unbelievable4

We did

Agree3 Disagree6

You never put a bid in for Hernandez, Spurs don't attract big players

Agree0 Disagree4

We should defo try 2 sign Hernandez....quality little stiker and would fit in perfectly wih the way we play...and is proven in the pl....Levy sign him up!!!

DAPZ

Agree4 Disagree0

You do make me laugh it seems every player out there fits into your style of play lol

Agree0 Disagree2

So we can't bid for a 4th choice striker at a different club? Oh right then. We bid 9 million

Agree0 Disagree0

So u telling me a young, quick lil player who plays counter attacking ,attractive football isnt suited 2 spurs style of player..ur either a gooner or a manc..either 1s bad enough

Agree0 Disagree1

I guess rat boy is leaving then, the figures all add up to £30million, 23.6mill to Spurs Cash, 3.9mill in add onn's but Real Madrid also paying the 5% to his previous club as well. NO Player exchange!!

So what does DL have up his sleeve, I guess we will find out by Friday.....

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Those figures are figures reported by marca(where ssn got there info from).
They will be intentionally low to make Madrid look good and make it seem they made levy back down and he doesn't do that. Add another 10mill euros to the deal Madrid/Marca report. That is how they work.

Agree4 Disagree4

It is clear from the reports that the fee is no where near the £40 mill. Real arent paying anything to anyone other than Spurs other than £23.6 mill and another £3.9 (posssibly) in relation to games played etc
Quite simply the true profit , after agents fees etc, at this time, amounts to no more than £5 million although in view of the way clubs write down players values in the accounts Spurs will be able to show a profit of £16 million.

Agree0 Disagree2

Don't think it is much more than the 30m being reported

Agree1 Disagree0

Gullem balague on sky, the price will be between 32/38 mill euros. Which is what most have been commenting on on here. Knowing levy, go for the higher amount.

Agree1 Disagree1

Levy may have discounted to get something concluded and subject to status of targeted signings. He will want AVB to go into the season with a settled squad, if not used to playing together before the end of the month.

Agree1 Disagree2

Gullem balague is a very reliable source. He has lots of fingers in lots of pies and he is usually very actuate. I do hope however that in this instance his contacts are mistaken but (even knowing our much loved chairman) I doubt it.

Flippit.

Agree1 Disagree6

Balague gets most of his stuff from the Spanish press

A lot of talk of Berba going to Toon cant see him moving from Utd's bench to sit on Newcastle bench perhaps a deal already done for Ba/Cisse as Toon splashing the cash which is unlike them
ou812

Believable0 Unbelievable5

I guess with Toon they'd pay him enough but it does seem weird given their striking options already. We should get him, we don't seem close to forking out £20m+ for so called top players (most mentioned are actually unproven in the Prem gambles) so let's know our (spend) level and get a proven Prem goalscorer in, well two of them by getting Ade done as well.
Those who disagree, please think about whether you're happy with Defoe and Kane as only forwards or whether Ade and Berbs plus those two would be better!? It certainly looks like Damaio, KJH, Llorente, Hulk etc are pipe-dreams at best.

Agree8 Disagree4

Berba can do one! Id rather my cat up front, he crys too when he doesn't get his way!

Agree10 Disagree1

As it stands mate your cat up front will be the option! We got over £30m for him and could now get out of a hole for £5m, you do the maths when we have nobody else and he still scores goals.

Agree3 Disagree7

We made a good profit on him but why should we try and sign someone who didn't want to play for us?!

Agree6 Disagree0

Why? Because we're desperate and won't fork out big-bucks, therefore he's cheap and proven quality.

The merry go round will now begin. Modric leaving will kick start our window. Expect m'vila to be the midfielder in for Modric, rennes are close to signing makoun from villa as his replacement. Adebayor will sign after weekend, as will gaston ramirez. Hulk is never going to happen, Owen touting for a move to us, AVB not interested.1 more winger may follow before august 31st, affelay a strong possibility. My source is a relative who works in pr department at WHL. He told me about gylfi sigurdsson when everyone thought he'd already gone to Liverpool, as I posted on here. Bassong and jenas may leave before Saturday, both on loan with view to permanent deal.

Believable12 Unbelievable8

15 Aug 2012 14:57:42
I will get slammed for this but just asking the question..does anybody think a masterstroke could be on the cards..a marquee signing of epic proportions..Hulk says he is leaving porto for epl or spain..most top teams have spent their wad other than man city..united will on rvp and chavskis on host of others gooners also..could hulk with link too avb supprise everyone..dont think he has banged on about CL like others..with modders money and bit extra we could afford him and he could end up making difference between top four and failure.
Thoughts please..btw barca done their cash as to real if they sign modders. Dreaming maybe but stranger things have happened.

ANT

Believable4 Unbelievable13

Think you need to put the pipe down mate Hulk if any club would be the chavs As for us we are finished in the market as i put earlier.

Skids

Agree3 Disagree8

Mate i dnt see it happerning but it would be great..i can see us signing 4 more players though...Ceaser,adebayor,m'vila and Gaston ramirez
DAPZ

Agree2 Disagree9

Ant I wish your correct. But looks like we have done our cash too. If we are lucky we will spend 10-15 mil of the 27 mil we get from modders
Tight wad levy is turning us into west ham with loan players
Mr g
Levy outtttttt

Agree3 Disagree8

Skids.. there is no way we are finished in the market .. you gotta be gooner trolling

Agree2 Disagree2

Minimum £35m plus at least £120k a week to even get near matching the likely offers of mega-bucks from Chelski, Schitty, PSG or Russia.....would think there's no chance, even if he was dying to team up with AVB. No way Porto are going to take the lesser fee even if he would be happy with doubling his money rather than trebling it.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2012 17:35:18
An initial fee of £23.6million with the Spanish club, plus a further £3.9m in add-ons.
ou812

Believable0 Unbelievable7

Thats shocking. Mugged off. Levy would have been a fool to accept that after so long. We got no1 in aswell to replace. Im worried wheres this 100million war chest avb getting.

Agree4 Disagree1

23MILL!!U must be kidding me..over a month of talks between the clubs and us holding out for as near 2 40mil as poss and we settle for that...we where lied 2 about how much money we had and modric had 2 be sold for that so we can buy before saterday!!I hope i wrong and levy has something up his sleave but 23mill is a joke

DAPZ

Agree7 Disagree1

Still made money on him and he's not warming Chelskis bench, perhaps Levy had to take that deal to kick start our transfer buying cos i cant see us not having a couple of strikers on board... imagine losing a big named striker cos we were to busy haggling
ou812

Agree1 Disagree0

Don't forget, read the ssn statement. They say they have it from Marca, who happen to be madrids support paper and they are also the ones that gave been winding this up in Spain.
Wait for the confirmation and price from spurs. I bet it around 36/38mill when it gets done. Euros that was by the way.

Agree8 Disagree1

The price had been kept low for 2 reasons. Firstly, it is a story from Marca, they don't want Madrid to look like they gave in. Believe me, levy would of won this battle and secondly, again the price will be reported low to keep the price down for a replacement, which I might add will already be in place. This is the way levy bargains. The price will be something like the figure above. Maybe 35/40mill euros.

Agree6 Disagree3

I can agree with the above poster
It saves face for RM
And makes us look like we haven't got tons to splurge ... Whilst making levy look a slight person in the process ....
However I would applaud the man the first chance I get

Fulham to make triple bid for Spurs outcasts. Bassong, Bentley and Jenas could soon be heading to the cottage. Expect the deals to be completed before transfer window closes.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I like martin jol but i feel sorry 4 fulham fans if they get this lot looool

I read this morning that Croatia manager Igor Stimac has said that tottenham are not handling the Modric situation in the right way and we should let him join real Madrid.......he's tied in a contract, a contract we didn't force him to sign, why should we concede to the pressure of the so called "big clubs", I say Daniel levy is doing a great job running spurs and it's the little man who's crying off tours and games that needs to have a look at himself.

However, for a player who can't defend and scores less than 5 goals a season our valuation is ridiculous.

I don't know if Owen is true but I can say I work
At the Mayfair hotel and he was in conference with representatives of a London club.this was 2 weeks ago
What do you think ed? {Ed008's Note - I remember Owen tweeting couple of weeks ago he had made his mind up over a move so could be true past his best in my opinion.

We are holding talks with Stephane Sessegnon, apparently. I say that cos it aint my very trusted source but they are adamant that we are in talks.

spurs guvnor

Believable6 Unbelievable2

We do not need midfielders. maybe we shoul concentrate on a couple of strikers

Agree2 Disagree0

As an additional option out wide (which we desperately need with Aaron's injury record) I would love us to try and get Adam Johnson. Apparently had a falling out with Mancini. I think it's definitely worth enquiring. What d'you think ed? {Ed008's Note - He's certainly available for the right price wants 1st team football which your never gonna get at City, Saw on the Liverpool page their trying a swap deal with Agger+cash for him. Much better player than Lennon more consistent however different types of wingers.

Agree4 Disagree0

Sess for JD anyone ?

Agree1 Disagree3

How true is this?and is it really the type of plyer we need?hes good bit we need 2strikers now!!
Dapz

Agree0 Disagree0

Sessegnon was really short odds (with ) to sign for spurs a month ago so wouldn't be surpised if this happens

Agree1 Disagree0

We are holing talks with nobody we will not be getting anyone! same old spurs all talk and no action ,reminds me of the last transfer window

Agree3 Disagree1

Sessegnon is not a target

Gaston Ramirez will join Liverpool as they have Suarez and Coates which will help him settle in so thats it

Believable2 Unbelievable5

I think that when his agent mentioned we bid for him, he was talking in the past tense so it could have been a few weeks ago, possibly when there was all that talk of rafa leaving and b4 we got sig

Agree0 Disagree0

My friend runs his own independent betting shop and has just slashed the odds on him joining southampton to evens. not saying its def gonna happen but he rarely gets things wrong

Agree1 Disagree2

Cant see them payin out for another centre mid after allen fella. to much money for him!!

M'vila bid has been increased to £18 million. Source : gmf

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Yann M'Villa only wants to join a Champions League club. Also he's having trouble getting a reception for Channel Five on his TV so won't be able to watch replays of himself in the Europa League if he joined Spurs. Looks like a deal breaker.

Agree1 Disagree3

Of course he could invest some of his vast wages in a digital tv box and thereby receive c5 in all its digital glory.

Please Please tell me this is not true we are gonna be making a bid for Nicklas Bendtner,

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Got to be a gooner ^^ hes nothing, hes a championship player at best

Agree1 Disagree0

It's not true...

Dom

Agree1 Disagree0

Bendtner has refused to move to Spurs citing the reason " I'm waiting for someone like a Wigan to make contact, they've more chance of making the Champions League than Tottenham".

Agree2 Disagree3

Mate ur either a gooner or ur mad...coz this aint happerning Lolll

Agree0 Disagree0

If he does join, that means Ade won't be coming back,as they hate each other.
Anyway,Bendtner said he wanted to go to a team playing CL football.

I have a friend who works for Deloitte in the city who is helping finalise packages for three players - Adebayor, M'Vila and Ramirez. He also said that Modric is to be sold to Real Madrid to fund these purchases. In my opinion unlikely but he also said they were looking over Michael Owen's terms but it was still a long shot...

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Did your "mate" just pick up the paper and tell you what he read? As i could of told you that!! My mate told me we have no chance of signing ronaldo or messi!!

Agree0 Disagree7

I really hope you are right about Ade, M'Vila and Ramirez. If Owen signs as well i can see Defoe leaving which would be terrible !

d0ogie

Agree0 Disagree0

Your credibility went out with the Owen link. We have a better diminuitive finisher already for impact, in Defoe. Owen would be pointless.....unless Defoe is to be sold.

Agree0 Disagree8

I'm glad you have a friend,good luck with that,as for the news,RUBBISH!
Lanesra

Agree0 Disagree8

A slower but fit Michael Owen is still a much better footballer than JD i'm afraid. There is a reason why the only places he's ever really been number one choice up front are Wet Spam and Pompey and he even had his time on the bench for them. Owen is cleverer and a better finisher (can do more than just lash it 9 times out of 10). Whether he'd ever be fit again or stay fit is the question and it wouldn't be likely hey.

Agree8 Disagree0

Just Reading around the web on all the transfer news. surely with Defoe asking about his future we would have 1 or maybe 2 strikers in the pipe line?
