Robert Lewandowski. If the rumours are true and he is leaving Dortmund, we should go all out to sign this player. If Levy doesn't see 10-15m as a good deal for a 24 year old striker of his calibre then I can't see us ever signing a striker at all. Our youth prospects must be bloody good!

Adam {Ed002's Note - Dortmund's Lewandowski was watched last year by Liverpool, PSG, Real Madrid, Rubin Kazan, Manchester United, Spartak Moscow (who were concerned about losing Welliton), Juventus (albeit they have another player for the summer instead), Arsenal and Lille. Chelsea have considered Lewandowski but I don't know of any bid being made and there would not have been a bid anywhere close to the 35M euro Dortmund valued him at last summer. At present Dortmund and the player have been unable to reach agreement over a new deal and they probably won't. Whilst there is no agreement in place for him to join any other club, it is very likely he will move to Manchester United in the summer.}

Cheers Ed. Why is it very likely that he will move to Man United? They have RVP, Rooney, Chicarito and Welbeck already and they're not exactly screaming out for any of them to leave or for the need to add another striker.

Adam {Ed002's Note - I am not sure what sort of answer you expect Adam.}

Surely most players being mentioned, i. e higuain, di maria, modric, robben will be on far too substantial wages for our wage structure? especially if we would be getting 2 for bale? doesn't make sense to me.

Hi ed. I seen on the MU page that RM first offer for bale will probably be a straight swap. I read one of the players is modric but who do you think the other may be. Higuain or di Maria perhaps. Thanks {Ed002's Note - Ideally they would like to offer Higuain and Modric for Bale with no money changing hands. They would rather like Spurs to propose such a deal to give them leverage.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Unless it got to the situation where Bale was requesting to leave, letting him go in a deal like this would be terrible.

We should have enough money and with Bale, be an attractive option for decent strikers wanting to step into the premier league.

Who would want modric and highuain over bale and someone like damiao. We don't need modric in our team, that much is very clear. {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath over Damiao.}

Agree2 Disagree3

He was just an example of a talent out of the premier league, I wasn't mentioning his name as someone I think will end up at spurs lol

Agree1 Disagree0

I would personally hope for someone like Soldado. But might I ask, just out of interest why you say that in regards to Damiao? {Ed002's Note - Try the search function.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Whether we sign Damiao or not, make no mistake in thinking he is even in the same league as Higuain. If Real Madrid offered Higuain + £40m, I for one would be doing sumersaults.

Lets be open and reasonable, we all know that Levy will sell Bale for £55m+. I personally think he a work ckass superstar, but am also an advocate that provide we reinvest the proceeds we actually get stronger.

The solutions for Spurs seem very clear to me. Sell Walker who has be one a total liability, and let Gallas join him on the way out. Replace him with Alderweireld and you will soon see just how bad Walker has become. You see he was looking great because he can attack, but now Lennon has steppes up to the mark his defense weaknesses are starting to show.

If Bale did go and we could get Higuain upfront I for one would be over the moon. I would sell on the ageing Defoe whilst he still has value, and try to find a nutter to buy Adebayor. People have mention Damiao, Soldado, Negredo, Lewandowski and others, and any one of them with Higuain is a totally different proposition

In midfield we obviously need a rock next season to play with Sandro, as Parker cannot surely give us security all season. I would love to see Dembele in the more advanced central role, and Moutinho with Sandro keeping it right and giving us rock solid foundations.

The question would simy be who could get close on the LM to replace Bale. There is only one such man in Robben. He has conveniently had some problems with Ribery and could provide real value. With Dembele in the middle, we would have Holtby, Sigurdson, Dempsey, Huddlestone, Parker and Livermore. All are capable performers but I would prefer to see two exit and two more adaptable players sign. I don't think you could go wrong with Willian or Cabaye.

Anyway whatever happens, we are surely going to have glory next season. Bale has been a superb servant, and if he left and brought £60m in revenue then no one would complain. If he stays I think we could challenge equally by replacing on it two key players + the strikers.

Audere et Facere is our motto - To dare is to win, and Levy might just dare!

I totally agree Levy may sell Bale for £55m+ but there is no way it would all be reinvested. IF (and it is still an IF) we qualify for Champs League, he will see it as justification of his policy in recent years - selling (best) players then not spending all the revenue and so reducing the squad size. We are v. thin for cover of creative/goal scoring players and have been all season. He could sell Bale, buy somebody tagged £15m and maybe another minor signing for £5-6m, move the balance over to the stadium fund, hoping the two new players perform ok to keep us in or around the top 5. A bonus £20m from a Champs League spot and it's a very profitable season towards the new ground.
The past few year's transactions suggest the above being more than possible. Bale may stay one more year with the aim being to increase his value and try the above the summer after, the player may have even 'forced' the move by then so Levy dodges the worst PR bullets about flogging him.

Agree5 Disagree3

I can only pray we manage to hold on to our Champions League spot and Gareth Bale, because I cannot see the money from his sale being reinvested immediately for reasons above. He stays, avb may be able to force Levy's hand and buy a striker and we have a real force. He goes, we buy a few, thought to be decent players, and hope they do well.

Also I just cannot understand people happy to let Gareth Bale go. every fan dreams of having a superstar in their team. Ronaldo. Messi going to your home ground and being able to watch that, its rare. if Bale does and that is IF he does become that good, I for one certainly want to be able to go to the lane and witness it year in year out.

Real Madrid still owe us £20mill for Modric so the sums or players being bandied about are not straight forward. Higuain and Modric for Bale would only really equate to a £35mill bid seeing as Higuain is priced at £22mill & they have only paid £13mill for Modders so far.
