Arsenal beat Chelsea.
Spurs beat Arsenal.
Fulham trashed Spurs.
So, maybe Fulham is the real Pride of London after all.kehkeh

Guys

I remember you lot coming on the arsenal site saying how deluded they all were for thinking they could attract a top striker! Hello. read your own page now!
ike.

30 Jan 2011 23:07:08

We have bidded for these strikers according to guillaime ballague or whatever his name is
Alvaro negredo
Fernando Llorente
Luis suarez
Sergio Aguero
AND
Emmanuel adebayor
All failed !

Thats cos no one decent wants to go to spurs!
Small club in european eyes.

30 Jan 2011 22:47:09

If llorente, suarez, adebayour and negredo won't come to spurs why the flip would aguero? ?

30 Jan 2011 22:39:01

My opinion is aguero will not join us because were not a top team in the eyes of top world class strikers that's a fact man u chelsea man city coz ov there money liverpool coz of there history which is phenomanal just being honest an hate to say it but the gooners so keep dreaming spurs are just not that attractive ok we got van der varrt but that's coz no one else really went for him pains me too say it but were on par at the moment with the newcastles an will we ever win a european cup ha no we won't still no london club has so no shame there 1 season wonder is us no champs leauge nxt season i can see it now depressed spurs fan

30 Jan 2011 09:26:32

Aparently this eto deal seems to be true. the reports in italy suggest that to! the only thing is would you spend over 15 million for a 30 year old?
hes probably the best 30 year old we have been linked with these past few days.
eto, forlan, fabiano

my money is still on fernando llorente or hulk for 18-22 milllion.

dennis

30 Jan 2011 00:07:46

Ed, anything in this llorente rumour?

{Editor's Note: Possibly - but I have nothing firm.}

29 Jan 2011 23:40:37

Liverpool has over 100,000 on it's waiting list year in year out. .

29 Jan 2011 23:13:43

Reports in Italy are saying bale going to inter for 45 million + coutinho

I think Harry will spend that money on a striker

By the way why did we need to get pienaar when we've got dos Santos kranjcar vdv modric Lennon bentley ohara

29 Jan 2011 22:51:09

Suarez didn't snub spurs, spurs refused to pay over the odds for a player although when you compare it to say d.bent price its sounds ok. Has suarez actually signed yet?!
Touenham are one of only 4 teams to sell all their season tickets and also have a 40,000 waiting list, not bad for a small club hey! Dont be bitter lad.
Spurs guv

29 Jan 2011 21:27:18

Spurs aren't a massive club. . Why did Suarez snub then??

29 Jan 2011 20:57:42

Re newcastle poster, its obvious what the ed was saying, that it is carroll who doesn't want to leave, it aint hard to understand! Dont want the geordie chippendale anyway we want hulk.
Spurs guv

29 Jan 2011 19:45:49
Were not big enough yet we manage to hold onto all our best players and sign VDV
we are a massive club get your facts right!

29 Jan 2011 19:31:32

You do all realise Liverpool FC man city united AND chelsea are all looking at Hulk he's a fantastic top player but with the likes of those teams i don't think we stand a chance.
We should be going for ashley young? bojan? good players like that we can't get the likes of suarez hulk aguero llorente we ain't big enough

29 Jan 2011 18:35:18

If spurs do sign hulk they will have to pay between 34-84 mill its in his contract that hes not aloud to go for any less heard this on talk sport and tbh i can't see spurs paying that for a player that is more likely to play on the left wing and if they do get him don't you think that this would mean that someones on there way out ie. Bale :( and i don't want that to happen, the player id like to see at the lane is edison cavani he plays for napoli and has scored 13 goals this season including a hat trick against juve i think we woulld have to pay at least 25mill for him
but tbh i thinks hes worth it.

29 Jan 2011 16:28:52

Exactly, ide splash it on hulk his wages wouldn't even be a problem. 23 million for carrol is ridiculous and pointless when we already have crouch! if you signed someone like podolski or hulk who could play upfront or on the left wing would be ideal. VDV could swap places with either one of them throughout the match. both these players would offer something completly different especially Hulk. crouch could be a super sub when we need something different!
personally ide sell keane for 6 mill, use the 6 we got from darren bent, add 8/10 mill and go for Hulk.
you know what harrys like he keeps his deals secret and they usualy get revealed 1 hour before the deadline. i just prey we don't sign carrol unless we get rid of crouch!
we don't need 4 strikers soo ide sell pav and keane and sign 1 quality striker to partner defoe, VDV left wing, bale left back, kaboul right back and i think that team would be solid guv!

. . . . . . .defoe
. . . . . . . . . . .Hulk
vdv. . modric. . diarra. . .lennon
bale. . gallas. . .dawson. .kaboul
. . . . . . . . .gomes

having kaboul play right back would form a much more solid back line. kaboul is more of a solid defender wereas hutton is an attacking right back who can't defend to save his life! having kaboul play right back would allow bale to go up and down that flank shifting kaboul more central to from a 3 man back line with bale and lennon acting like wing backs!(if you get my drift)

ins out
diarra pav
Hulk keane
hutton
ohara
woodgate
naughton
jenas/ palacios(if siara comes in)

i don't think we have to sign 7 players because we sold 7. ide put townsend, rose, walker and some others to the squad from the reserves.

jermain

29 Jan 2011 00:13:05

How loyal can bale be if inter come calling him?inter can promise him a big buck, CL every season while spurs only got qualified for CL in about 1time in 50years, more world class player, more titles, already an establish name in football world, etc.
honestly, there is hard to find a true loyal player after totti.

Mr.E

28 Jan 2011 23:23:51

Its time to wise up harrys luck is about to run out time for change jose looking to come back we need true quality

28 Jan 2011 22:29:29
Absolute jokes Harry! no striker wtf! pinear we don't realy need, khumolo (spelling) how many defenders do we need?? what we m
need is a 25 goal striker ffs its not like there not avaliable! hulks avaliable, i will never know why we didn't go for suarez! jesus harry whats going on? weve been told funds are avaliable so wtf are we doing? bidding for gary bloody neville! disapointed tbh no champs league next year then! whats the point in keeping useless crouch for the champs league if we go no chance of getting there? Forget about the england job Harry and concentrate on the job your paid for!

28 Jan 2011 22:27:41

Jermain

cmon do you not think bale would love someone else that doubles his wages?
and yes cesc would be a massive hole to fill, but not as much as henry, cos we have lots of midfielders no real strikers.

Shebby {ed's note - it is going to be tough, it is hard to see Spurs holding onto 4th this season. But it was always going to be a big ask to repeat it and compete in the Champions League. I think you have the top 5 right.}

{editor: The editors all update each page when we all have time. I am sorry if there was a dely on any of your posts but there are a lot of sites that we have to update.}"

What is this? "Updatement". Upwhatment? Are you from foreign shores pal? English lesson no.1: The word you were looking for is 'updates'. ". .cos of your lack of updates". Really, its not difficult.

You will "not ever" return here? The word commonly used here, for sheer speed if nothing else, is 'never'.

When you say "put myself on caught offside", do you mean actually posting pictures of yourself naked, copiously offering sacrifice to the goddess of apetube? And presumably Caught Offside have been forewarned of the literary genius that is heading their way? Perhaps its best not to announce your coming ahead of arrival (ahem!), as I hear that your level of literacy is now actually classed as a criminal offence.

Please, if you are going to come on here and slaughter defenseless pixels on my LCD screen, not mention the sterling volunteers manning these sites, with your utter, incomprehensible drivel, please at least make it worth reading and legible. You cnut. {ed's note - if this was Facebook I would be immediately clicking like to this post....}

In some ways i can agree with you but in football you have to take that risk. personally i wouldn't want suarez although i think hes a good player i don't think he can offer us anything different wereas Hulk i believe can. if we don't take the risk we will never know! as for forlan, great player but came to the premiership before and was a huge disapointment like postiga. the premierleague is a new ball game you don't have time on the ball like you do in the spanish leagues were the games are so much slower. sometimes it takes time to adapt to the premierleague, maybe even a season because there is no garentee that the likes of fab and forlan can immediatly flourish! and with them type of players they havent got time to learn!
Hulk on the other hand has all the attributes to be a success and still young and learning, if it means taking a 16/18 million punt on him i think i would!
look at luka modric, we signed him for 15.5 mill. now he can walk into anyteam with ease!
fabiano, with age theres more responsibility, with the history he has theres more expectations, yes he can still create magic but the older you get you lose that yard of pace!
it would be a dream if spurs signed diarra and Hulk, btoh young and hungry! by the way its not like we would break the bank for these type of players. look at the possible tarnsfers going out and th emoney we could make. pav 12, keane 6, villa 6mill(bent) that's a total of 24 mill.
maybe it is a hell of a lot of money but its a risk we kinda have to take! btw could you name your posts although i have a slight feeling it could be the great laner?

Not to be disrespectful but was it not bergkamp who also came from a mickey mouse league as well as other world class players who have come and gone? VDV? pienaar? and so on! fabiano is a old man why pay 12/15 million for a player that can only give us 2/3 years. hulk and suarez are top players and yes they come from a weak league but look at them as individuals and what qualities they have! Hulk has all the attributes to be a top player in the strength, pace, great hold up play and more! other then that the whole liverpool thing i do agree with, they need to look at themselves now instead of their history as do ARSENAL fans!

jermain

I can counter your agument. Bergkamp was signed from Inter Milan, a far stronger league than the Dutch. Van Der Vart played for Hamburg and Real Madrid, again two leagues that are far stronger than the Dutch and Portugese. Hulk? He played his Football in Brazil and Japan before going to Portugal and, at the age of 24 has a whole TWO brazilian caps to his name. Fabiano has played in Spain for some time now, a leaguer much stronger than the Dutch and Portugese leagues and has amassed 43 Brazilian caps, no mean feat when you consider the competition he has faced to get on the pitch. Suarez hasnt really done anything and hardly set the World on fire in South Africa, hey the old geezer Diego Forlan totally outshone him! On the basis of all that, do you REALLY think that two inexperienced forwards are worth the kind of money that their clubs are asking? Fabiano may well command a £10 million fee BUT he has experience, he is only 30 years old and could still play at the highest level for 4 seasons and would never be a gamble like the other two. Maybe they would flourish in the Premiereship, its just a hell of a lot of money to pay out to find out.

The notion that we should be grateful regarding this Hulk fella is laughable. We, taking things logically, should also be grateful that we had the foresight to have signed Bale, Modric, Van der Vart and Dawson! Credit where its due and all that. .

Hulk, as is Suarez, are playing in Mickey Mouse leagues. Only those that are utterly brave, utterly desperate or utterly stupid will pay the kind of extortionate fee those clubs want for two players, players that may not be able to hit a barn door with a banjo once they get to our league. Remember Helda Postiga? The greatest thing to come out of Portugal since the previous greatest thing? Prolific in Portugal, he bombed with us, and bless him, he did try but he was useless. He went back to portugal and started to bang the goals in again.

Podolski is a good bet IMHO, the German Bundeslega, is not too dissimilar to our league, he will be more than used to the pace and physical side.Fabiano is another possible. Vastly experienced and has the nous to play over here.

As for Liverpool? I think, as Spurs fans have to, the supporters need to stop living in the past and concentrate on the now. Irrespective of whether you are bigger than this club or that club, you are now light years away from challenging for a title, blimey, you have spent decades trying to win one as it is, and any notion that you will be able to reclaim a top four position without spending far, far more than your new owners have a clue about spending, is ridiculous. Not knocking Liverpool but memories and past acheivements don't win titles. Its about the now.

Only 2 strikers on harrys mind, carrol or podolski. correcting my previous comment podolski was another name i was to mention. in 7 days from now 1 of these stars will 110% be signing for tottenham hotspur.
MR.Keane, O'Hara, Woodgate, Naughton and hutton will all look to enlighten their future with moves away, with moves this january and the end of the season.
Lukas podolski or Andy Carrol, Lass Diarra all look to be heading our way.
harry behind scenes has jotted down his team for january and Levy agrees with the players and will work his magic to accomplish this.

The knowledge.

{Editor's Note: I guess we will both need to live with this sad loss.}

22 Jan 2011 21:20:50

I have also posted a few in reply to the same post, posts which were fair and with no abuse and yet they were not shown either. This prompted me to send in posts which i knew 100% would not be shown, didn't i ed!?! It feels like total bias sometimes and is very frustrating particulaly when someone takes their time to type a post. I find it hard to beleive that not one post has been received in relation to the liverpool post and i definetly did. I don't expect this to be shown anyway so whats the point. Maybe there hgs a prob with spam or something but why just thd spurs page. Spurs guvnor

Editor its no wonder nobody comments on our page cos of your lack of updatement. one every 24 hours is a joke. you are a joke and have made this site a joke i 4 1 will not ever return here and put myself on caught offside page insted. every pva p[age is update every hour. u r patetic

{editor: The editors all update each page when we all have time. I am sorry if there was a dely on any of your posts but there are a lot of sites that we have to update.}

I actually responded to the following post:

" Not being funny but spurs need to get off their high horses, 'warming to the idea of hulk' you's would be lucky to have a player of that quality
and as for being a bigger club than liverpool, a dip in form means nothing to 18 league titles and 5 european cups"
I did it without resorting to sarcasm, i did it constructively, however, it got ignored so, as yet, nobody has countered that posters opinion.
Either the eds are on the ball or they are not. Its you guys that are making the site ever bigger and in doing so are finding it harder to monitor and control. Its a very good site but, at times, its full of f* *witts who don't want to contribute in a constructive way, they just want to agitate.
The likes of me who does want to contribute tends to get f* * d over! !
Will this make it onto the page or will it get binned like my other post?
PS: I know you fellas are hardcore supporters too but, perhaps you need to leave your alliances at the door before modding/administating the site? I mean, you are the referees, arent you? {ed's note - no messages like the one you claimed to have had rejected have ever been posted to any of the sites. I have checked the database.}

They gave the season tickets back though. .but they were given back to the muggers. . . as PUNSHMENT!

Personally, i'm looking forward to Spuds getting mugged in Milan! LOL! COME ON AC!

To the guy who said townsend the new bale. . . are you having a laugh? hes good and got potential but putting that lable on him you much be at least 11 years old to think like that!
comparing bale to coleman is daft, there is no comparision!
pienaar was signed for cover and to make a impact when come off the bench unlike our other substitutes! he can inject creativity from both flanks!
it looks like were in the market for a striker ive said many times before HULK is the guy! looks like lately from all media sources pavlychenko could be on his way out! so a striker looks on the cards!
guv looks like saurez could be out the picture!

To the gut who said this:
Why on earth did spurs have to sign steven pienaar? they have plenty of midfield players to choose from. does it mean that possibly krancjar(excuse the spelling if its wrong) or jenas, o'hara are on the way out?

As far as I know Harry he has done this for
Shirt money pienaar40
He CAN sell him to make a profit as his market value is some12m and he was signed for some 3m
He can promote spurs in S.A as he already even has Khumalo so more S.a fans so more accsesories bought so more profit
Pienaar can start RW lennon can come on from the bench at the hour mark and explode pace on the other leftback
Anyways Harry is fond of Kranjcar and won't let go of him
What do you say on this ed

{Editor Note: Could be mate, know nothing about how much can be generated in SA tbh.}

To the fools who say coleman is the new bale coleman is a year older and Townsend is the new bale what do you say ed?

{Editor Note: Don't know much about Townsend to be honest mate. But Coleman has done well, coming from a lesser league and that. He's not as good as Bale but he has moved from right-back to right-wing and looked better.}

nice to see you have something to dream with ed , you really do make it easy to see why scousers talk bollox, better fans dream on causing trouble then yea, bigger stadium? s* t stadium, bigger fan base? on a par don't forget most of your african gear has just been returned its now ours in the shops! bigger reputation? as if dear boy as if, history? no one comes close to ours not even your beloved rivals manure! yea you won more! but in a hundred or two hundred years you lot may have still won nothing and every one else has overtaken you in the trophy stakes but people will still ask and it will still be printed who the 1st were, now that's frikin history fella {ed's note - you Spurs fans talk some rubbish, but this is quite simply laughable. Thank you, this cheered me up after a long day!}

Haha editor that post is hilarious!
Im a spurs fan all my life.
but we aren't a bigger club than liverpool and it will take us a Long long time to become a bigger club even man utd aren't bigger than liverpool holloway says so :)
Spurs we MUST take all the chances we get now!
we are on the up we need to spend like crazy in my opinion and sign everyone we can.

{Editor Note: I personally think Man Utd are currently a bigger club than Liverpool. But in England we second them.}

Luka, you make some valid points mate. Tbh iv never seen any plans for the olympic site and wouldn't look at them anyway. Iv seen the ndp plans in tottenham and the stadium looked breathtaking espcially with the kop like end. The original ndp plans havent escalated at all that's just an excuse cos a cheaper alternative arosed in stratford. Yes i want to see top players but we are already getting them now and the ndp is plenty enough. I will protest till i drop and although i respect levy he is deluded and mad if he thinks he would get away with it. Hopefully w.ham will be given it and we shall build in tottenham and you watch the cost not be as much as they are saying, that's a cover up and lie! spurs guvnor

19 Jan 2011 15:43:02
Spurs Guvnor,

To be entirely honest, i would not want to see Tottenham Hotspur move away from White Hart Lane, because I to have grown up there.
If this makes any sense, i am against the maneuver but will not stand in the way if Daniel Levy wants to proceed with the Olympic Stadium because know it will only be in the best interest for the Club.
Daniel Levy will not want to do anything that will jeepardize Spurs.
Currently we have 25,000 plus on a waiting list for a season ticket with many more people wanting a season ticket whom are not yet on that list.
Now imagine one day we start winning major honours, signing some of the worlds best players, the want for season tickets will expand rapidly. Do you think a stadium of 55,000 capacity would be big enough? Camp Nou has a capacity of 100,000, madrid 90,000 etc.
Now take this into account, Arsenal's stadium produce a hell of alot of money, They have a capacity of 60,000 with 50 executive boxes! imagine having a stadium of 70,000 with 100 executive boxes, furthermore with the opportunity to expand greatly. Parking and Traveling would not at all be an issue, imagine the incredible amount of income that stadium can generate. If one day the likes of ronaldo and messi want a new experience and become available, without a shadow of a doubt we would be able to compete for them in both the market and wage market With the likes of utd, city and chelsea, Whereas now we would be ruled out immediately.
Levy is not looking 5 years from now, hes looking 20/30 years from now and the benefits for the future of our club.
Although i have jotted down a essay it was purely to consider that option and the slight advantages that come along with it.
If Daniel Levy does get the green light to go along with the new stadium then i would back it 100% because like i have previously stated its where i have grown up and do not want to see us move from home.
the designs are phenomenal and income can be generated not just from the stadium but from the hotel and apartments around it that they are to build!
Levy is superior at what he does, a neat business man who like harry redknapp has a few tricks up his sleeve. If in an agreement Levy and Co negotiated in a way in several years after the stadium is built to have the option to transform it into a 65/70,000 seater by temporarily removing the roof and building on top then that would be absolutly incredible! because a 70,000 seater is possible its just the council who are adamant to try f* k US UP long out every possible situation. Well know this, if Levy does not get his way it will be the council who will loose MILLIONS. So the balls in our court! Comon Levy negotiate our future well. YID TILL I DIE

19 Jan 2011 14:00:51

Luka, do you really want tottenham to move from tottenham to stratford for the sake of 6,000, 7,000 difference in capacity? Being from tottenham i dont! I know it will save us some money too but come on lets not be silly and move from our home.
I do not see bale as cover for ekottu at all, i think taiwo would be an excellent signing as would the croatian lad vrsaljo. Tbh im more concerned about our strikers, they are not good enough and will, already are, costing us points. Suarez or and huj would do me.

Ed, 19th jan 00.21.56, ed says about tottenham 'better fans no, better stadium no' etc etc. I the only other team i wound up for obvious reasons was arsenal yet posters like sir bob and others kept slating spurs so i will stick up for them. I aint bitter trust me, why would i be history is history and im more concerned about today and tottenham are in a far better position than liverpool which is why people like bob find it hard.You want embarrassing posts then go to the liverpool site, not everyone, its hilarious. I didn't have a problem with liverpool before and btw my missus is a scouser and red! spurs guvnor

19 Jan 2011 12:42:09

Ed, the liverpool one lastnight, i agree liverpool have won alot but like i said most of it was between mid1970s n late 1980s. You say you have better fans, tell me how or why? Your stadium is an old fashioned one like ours with 8,000 more capacity, big deal. Most of your fans are welsh, irish or from singapore how does that make you better?! Yes you have won more, have better tracksuits n perms but tottenham have better team! We also get treated to entertaining football and not robotic defensive boring cr@p. If you want to talk history tottenham have plenty too. You always slate spurs fans yet your lot are the most deluded by a mile, why, cos you won't let go of the 1980s! spurs guvnor {ed's note - I never said anything about better fans, only idiots try to claim their fans are better than anyone else's. All fans are just people and like all people there are different kinds. As for the rubbish about where most of Liverpool's fans are from, that is the talk of a bitter man who knows nothing about Liverpool whatsoever. Why do you continually try and attack other clubs? What is with this bitterness you have? Just enjoy your time in the sun and stop spoiling it and turning other team's fans against you! It is embarrassing watching this sudden surge in Spurs fans going on pages and attacking others while none were using this site to talk about their own club. It is so petty-minded. Just be glad that your club is on the up and in the Champions League and make the most of it.}

19 Jan 2011 09:34:54

Ed. You say Lennon is worth a 3rd of that. So you reckon 8 million? A young quick English international. Get real. {ed's note - it was his opinion, though I do disagree myself basing it on Bent's price, which has to be baseline right now.}

19 Jan 2011 09:25:54
Ed let me tell you something about spurs fans. We do not compare ACIENT history with other clubs.
in 2 years time if liverpool havent broken into the top 4 there wil be big trouble. what player would want to join them if there not even reaching top 7 let alone top 4. there attendance would drop, no major players as the likes of torres would want to sign for the club. how would they even be able to hold on to there big stars when there will be hardly no income coming in.

boys what do you think of the whole stadium saga?
heres my verdict.
soon come we will have a top stadium, one of the best in the world which is why this whole situation is dragging on becuase daniel levy is a clever man and wants to do whats best for the club. if levy says we need to move to the olypic stadium, its not because hes selfish and thinking of him self its because he knows it will be best for the club. the amount of money that stadium can generate is massive, what if 1 day we do start winning premierleagues and getting into championsleague finals do you think 55,000 is big enough? when we were s* t we filled our stadium weak in weak out with no problems, So imagine when were winning things. the waiting list for a season ticket is 25,000, our current capacity is 35,000 so in my opinion 55,000is not big enough. if levy somehow negotiates in a way we can build a 62000 seater with the possibility in the future to take off the roof and expand even more then it would be ideal. saying all this im not with a move out of white hart lane but then again im not against it because levy is a tottenham fan and he knows whats best for spurs and our future!

LUKA {ed's note - c'mon mate, Leeds have shown that big clubs keep their attendances up even if they do get relegated. Liverpool have a season ticket waiting list of over 100,000 people, there will be no problem filling the stadium. I do agree relegation will affect the chances of getting the best players, but, so long as Liverpool is in the Prem, that will never be a problem.}

19 Jan 2011 08:15:52

Id pay £24 mil for lennon. on his day his pace is irriplaceable. and the fans love to watch him. no suprises your not a fan ed. more of a walcott fan eh? {ed's note - two totally different players, Lennon has shown massive improvement in his weakest area - crossing - but it does still let him down. If he can continue to improve that he will be a fantastic player. I know he is a bit lightweight and weak defensively but I personally don't see that as a problem for a winger, they do their defensive work by forcing the full back they face to stay back. He does that well because he has too much pace to take chances with as no one is going to be able to catch him if he is past them! If Bent is worth 24m, then he is worth at least that in my opinion.}

19 Jan 2011 01:02:26

Lmfao, ed you gotta admit that last post on here was blinding! I don't know what he meant by african gear do you? He did make some valid points though and whichever ed wrote the better fans etc etc is deluded. Lets get one thing clear, all liverpools sucess is squeezed into the 1970s n 80s with a flukey cl sucess not long ago. Spurs might not of won as much but have been set many records and firsts and have had manx better players than any other team, easily. Who cares about the stadium but if you wait few years spurs will have best stadium in world. Liverpool fans are easily the most deluded going, just read there rumours n banter! spurs guvnor {ed's note - clearly you know nothing about a Liverpool side which won the league for the first time in the 1900-01 season and again in 1905-06 season. Also a couple of titles in the twenties and again just after the war as Liddellpool with the late, great Billy Liddell. Then there were titles in the 60s, 70s and complete domination in the 80s. You clearly do not know anything about Liverpool's history - it is incomparable in the English game, end of. The only thing Spurs fans do by trying to compare themselves is look silly. There is no comparison in historical terms.}

Pienaar going to Spurs, he found his new job as being a ball boy. His dad was one for Chelsea. Chelsea were interesting in him as he can run quick to get the ball and give it to the players but his demands were to high.

Least Spurs seen his potential as a ballboy. :)

Ed i askd about Suarez?
Wouldnt he be allowed to play in the champions league since he played for ajax,
Also i keep reading that he is attracted to Liverpool as playing with Torres would be a dream or something for him. . .
But what about
Modric Van de vaart and bale?
If we showed lots of interest we could snap him up!
But i do suppose Liverpool are a massive club but we are really good right now! {ed's note - the only way to know for sure would be to ask him, but he has already rejected Russian interest despite the huge wages on offer. So it is difficult to know what team he would want to join. He would be cup tied in the Champions League though.}

its hard to see what harry will do and what formations he will play, i think 352 is risky.
i could only see a big striker coming in if bale drops to left back!
all ive heard is conner is our target this season, young gifted player still learning and could do so at spurs.
ide also like to sell either crouch or pav at the end of the season, pav at times can create magic wereas crouch could be usefull at times for his height so either one would do! if we sign a player like hulk then ide sell pav but that's just me!

Rafael, although i think it makes sense with wickham i dnt think its him, yet. I want suarez i tgnk he would bang in 30 a season with the chances we create but there again i like jermains want of hulk i don't he would be as prolific but would certainly give us something different. Like i said earlier the problem is we play with one upfront with vdv and that is defoe at the mo. With pav(dnt know why) apparently being offered a cmtract its hard to workout who and where a new forward will play. Playing 352 would be a solution but that's risky, just to accomodate vdv. I do think wickham will replace crouch in the summer. Spurs guvnor

Haha we will just see nick! levy is a business man he will negotiate well for conner you will just have to wait and see! conner won't go arsenal there in need of a centre back they won't go on a signing spree! UPSON and SAMBA is the names on everyones lips LAUGH OUT LOUD!
mark my words! conner to spurs

MR SPURS Guvner, you and ed have previously been talking about money being put aside for a top player! i believe that player is conner wick! ive been told sereval times about this deals going through! like you said harrys not going to spend 15 mill on a striker to leave on the bench but with conner hes still young and learning and can make a slow impact! when you have someone like jermain defoe who puts himself on the last line its hard for the oppositions back line to push up, this also allows vdv to drop into that hole and create with the midfield! so replacing defoe is hard!
were also looking to get pienaar on the cheap which is a deal looking most certain to go through unless a team OUT of the premiership hijacks him! i wouldn't mind bidding for him but if that means droping bale left back then im against the deal! ekotto can have some good games and some bad! he needs to work on looking up and playing simple passes instead of hoofing it upfeild! because although he can be frustrating at times hes shown on numerous occasions he can be a top defender and keep big players quiet, he looses focus which he needs to improve!
harry Loves micah richards always has and has tried to sign him loads of times. hes on the radar in january and we look to replace hutton who could be sold at the end of the season!

. . . . . . . . . . . . gomes
richards. . .dawson. . . kaboul. . . ekotto
lennon. . . .modric. . . . huddlestone. .bale
. . . . . . . . . . . . . VDV
. . . . . . . . . . . . .defoe

ins
conner wickenham
richards
pienaar(50/50)

outs
woodgate, naughton, ohara, bentley, keane

at the end of the season i could see diarra coming in(who we have also been linked with) to replace huddlestone which will allow modric to push up a little more and link with the fowards!

15 Jan 2011 16:37:23

Nick, yeah agree about needing a player as a plan b but the problem with that is you can't expect to spend 15mil odd and have them sat on a bench. Ironically having vdv creates a downside, he is soo good you have to play him but imo you can only really play him in the hole behind a lone striker. We have defoe, pav n crouch at mo so whoever we get has to be different. If i had my way i would sell pav n crouch n, aswell as keane, n keep defoe and buy 2. Suarez n wickham would be good. We play better 442 but having vdv in the team means we will rarely play that. Nice problem to have though. Spurs guvnor

You mean to say that the Premiere league is so weak this year even the Gooners might actually win something? Clucking bell! !
Nice to know that Football has been such a huge part of your life to the extent that you decided to forgo an education. Clearly, your ability to spell pretty badly has not stopped you being able to rant pointlessly and look a complete cock.

Your not a spurs fan are you ed. very negative towards anything spurs. interesting! {ed's note - which editor are your referring to?}

Possibly any ed that doest support Spurs? ; )
It seems like we are going back the the Bale saga again. Wassamatter with people? So Mancini thinks that Bale will be the most coveted player come the summer, blimey, next he will be telling us that bears s* t in woods!
The club won't sell, the player doesn't want to leave and, correct me if im wrong, his Italian agent has been elbowed for speaking out of turn. I suppose everybody has a price, even Bale but does anybody honestly think that Spurs would accept £25-£30 million for him, as has been bandied about by some complete f* kweasels on here? At least make it £50 million! !
As for my buddy who wondered where the spud had gone, well fella, unlike you, i have a life which doesn't mean i spend 24/7 here. I know you have missed me, keep calm luv, I shall pop in from time to time so you don't get lonely, ok?
Yours

{Editor Note: If Bale is valued at £50m then he most certainly won't be leaving Tottenham, because I doubt anyone would be willing to pay that.}

Listen here young kids. . we do not need another defender or another left back because bale will cover for him! in the long run i could see bale keeping left back as his and adapting to a ashley cole type role which see's him bombing up and down the left flanks. having bale at left back would not ruin out attack!

Ed do you have any clue why harry isn't signing a left back eh he needs one badly in case if Ass is injured {ed's note - I thought he was chasing one? But I am sure he sees Bale as good cover, with you having a number of options for the left side of midfield if needed.}
But ed if bale is lb then we won't be that good attacking

{Editor's Note: But he would only be providing cover at LB.}

What if its long term for Assou {ed's note - I agree with you, but I am not managing the team, Harry has said what he wants and it is now down to the club to get what they can. I personally still think a left back is wanted, just not the main priority because Bale can cover if needed.}

Ed what transfers do you expect in the end

{Editor's Note: It is tough to say - some o the Spurs fans are pretty sure Suarez is off the list; there could be a short-term deal for Beckham unless he can get out of the last 10 months of his contract with Galaxy; Pienaar; perhaps a centre back.}

A centre back why on earth we have already got
King, Dawson, Woodgate, Gallas, Khumalo, Kaboul, C'orluka, Bassong, Huddlestone, Naughton, Caulker etc.

{Editor Note: Naughton is a full-back is he not? King is keeping the physios in work. And the Tottenham defence is awful at times.

2 things first u missed abracket and second the defence is bad cos of our full backs and the loss of daws now we have daws and khumalo in too so we yet have 5-6 good central defenders Daws gallas bassong khumalo kaboul c'orluka. Were conceding cos of hutton and assous bad defending corluka should play for one of them. We need only a left back in defence either to start or for cover for Assou we also need a striker and defensive mid maybe however left back should be first priority as if Assou is injured Bale will play left back where all that gloss is lost of him and there will be more defensive woes as Bale doesn't defend welled this guy knows a lot better don't argue with him

{Editor Note: I've seen some poor defending from the middle also.}

Lol! You know what, I DO love a good scrap!
Amazing how just a few words can get everybodys backs up! : )
Ive looked at the official list compiled in 2010 (pity you didnt) and we are 12th, Newcastle are 20th. I know you havent got to be too clever to post on here but counting to 20 should be easy enough for anybody. Incidentally, its no coincidence that all eleven clubs above us have larger capacity stadiums and/or have had s* t loads of money pumped into them whether it be Abramovich or the family that made their cash through the Fiat dynasty. Be under no illusuions, a bigger stadium will see our revenues soar. Oh, I think there is probably more chance of Avram grant being voted manager of the year than Spurs taking over the new Olympic stadium, the bid for it is just a lever to ensure that Haringay council takes their finger out of their arses and get all planning consent etc is in place pronto to get the new stadium built.
Im just wondering why such a cash rich club like the Gooners have won sod all for so long?
Then again the "World famous" "Massive club with million supporters on the waiting list for season tickets" Liverpool havent won the league for nearly 20 years? See, always listen to the missus, size really doesn't matter! ; )

The only thing liverpool has bigger is its stadium but that will change once our new one has been built.

spurs are a bigger club now, bigger players, bigger ambitions and bigger heart.

How funny, having got knowhere with the spurs being bigger/better than arsenal arguement, they have now opted to start this fight with the liverpool fans!
Thats right the team that has won 18 titles, and they are now claiming to be bigger than them??
Heaven help us all, next they will say they are bigger than Jesus. .
so so sad.

Dear spud why do spurs fans feel the need to comment on radio and fans forums about lfc. why are you a bigger club than everton? why do you think beating inter and finishing topfour is success? what exactly have you won?

Quite possibly because there is a dislike for the club? Spurs supporters don't actually give a dogs dick for Liverpool, we are too busy slagging off the Gooners, however, any side that thinks itself greater than great, even when it is propping up the table will always get a kick in from any supporter. The club has been going downhill for a longtime now, the Champions league success was just a one off, wasnt it?
Why are we a bigger club than Everton? Well I left the stage for you to come up with the facts and figures for showing that everton were bigger, you did state that they were, not me.
Success? Beating Inter was exactly what was not supposed to happen. Finishing top four was success for us, Chelsea, Arsenal and Man U. don't ask me why we think finishing in the top 4 is a success, ask those supporters. Then again, if you really need to ask the question, you clearly know nothing about how clubs are financed.
Now answer the question, give me facts and figures that support your statement that Everton are a bigger club. I will start the ball rolling for you, The Forbes list of the Worlds most valuable football clubs 2010 puts Tottenham in 12th place, behind Liverpool, I take it all back Mr ed ; ) and Everton are not even in the top 20.
Over to you to prove that they are bigger.

Dear spud. hollow head here .just because spurs are having a half decent season doesn't make you popular globally. man u , man city arsenal liverpool everton all have a far bigger fan base than spurs and have all been far more succesfull. its a shame harry came out on friday sayin beckam was 90% done .loooks a bit foolish today doesn't he . by the way well said ed got to remind these supporters that finishing fourth doesn't get you a trophy, cheers

Dear Hollowhead, Im always man enough to take critisicm on the chin. Lets assume that Liverpool are a "bigger club" what about Everton?? First division champs 9 times, FA cup 5 times league cup 2 times, Cup winners cup 1. Spurs? League Champs 2 times FA cup 8 times, league cup 4 times UEFA cup 2 times, Cup winners cup 1. I don't see in those stats how Everton have been "far more successful" does it? Spurs have actually been far more successful in Europe ( and this is where the world wide fanbase is built from just as Liverpools have been due to their successes in Europe) and are far wealthier than Everton. I will nail my colours to the mast and say that i like Everton, like the fact that Moyes has overachieved with a threadbare and, at times, very average squad. Ive got no issues with Everton! If you state that the other clubs have a far bigger fanbase than spurs, post the facts and figures up! Perhaps you would like to also answer the previous points ive made on that post too. . .
PS: Im glad you like the Yod part of the Forum so much that you feel you need to post on it.

According to the geordie site , you spuds have bid 17mill for andy carroll . and by the way the post about spurs being a bigger club than liverpool ha ha come back down to earth mate

Yes, according to a GEORDIE site. If I tapped your head would it be hollow? Everybody is being linked with us at the moment, Andy Carroll is just another name, possibly his agent is looking for a fat fee if he is sold on. . .
Bigger club than Liverpool? At this moment in time yes. There is no room in Football for dreamers and nostalgia merchants, the game is about the now and today, just as life is. Liverpool have dropped way down the pecking order, you only have to compare their squad to ours, bloody hell, even your most hated rival has a better depth of squad. Historically Liverpool are bigger than Man city but now? Are they f* k! Does that all make sense now?

{Editor Note: Spurs have a better team than Liverpool, but a bigger club? Absolutly not. Liverpool are one of the 5 top supported clubs in world football, massive history, something like a demand of 100,000 season tickets per season, and are world renowned.}

I think we should try and sign Rooney. We have a good chance because we are as big a club as Man U and he'd jump at the chance to join us. We'll be the best team in the world soon with Rafa Modric Hud and co playin 4 us. Rooney wud be the final piece of the jigsaw and after him maybe one or two more players like Di Maria and Essien. Chelsea are headin down the hill Essien wud come to us. Deffo have chance of these three £90m shud do th trick. Ed?

Too the person who wrote this, you are an ablolute w***er tottenham will never be the best team in the world and they will never spend anywhere near 90million in 1 player plus michael essien will never sign from chelsea . rant over.

A chav, are we? If you are going to post bollocks at least make it logical and coherant.
If you actually watch any football you would be aware that the side we beat was almost the same side that lifted the Champions league! By all means slag us off but FACT: it was acknowledged that we had been drawn in the "Group of death" and FACT: We pissed it easy peasy. What part of that don't you get? As for Torres, no i don't think we would have a cat in hells chance of getting him BUT we are one of the very few clubs in Europe that could actually afford him. Anyway, who cares? We are on a roll and are now seen as a "bigger club" than Liverpool. Remember, when you are in the gutter, its no point pretending that you are just "resting". . . . .

Redknapp needs a world class striker. They must be big, powerful, good in the air ( a 6 footer is the bare minimum ) good on the ground, fast, intelligent and more than capable and PROVEN to knock in at least 20 goals a season. All our strikers have strengths but not all round strengths. THAT is the most important signing the club needs to make.
Mr Levy FF Sakes go out and bring Torres back to the lane! !
Then you can sell that utter dickwad Crouch so another load of poor b* tard supporters will have the misfortune to pay good money to watch a bag of s* te.

Ed do u think khumalo is really a spurs material? {ed's note - from what I have seen of him I am a bit dubious. But some players raise their game when they play with better players. By the way do you know if he is friends with Pienaar? Just wondered if he is anything to do with an attempt to convince Pienaar Spurs are his best choice?}

06 Jan 2011 18:30:57

Ed do you see khumalo going straight into the first team? {ed's note - I don't think he will straight away, it will take time to settle in England for him. Obviously injuries might change that and he could end up thrown in at the deep end the way your luck has gone!}

Spurs need to sort themselves out in certain positions. hutton, has had some good games but not consistent enough, always out of position. ekotto top left back in certain games and in others sleeping!
crouch, head down, crontrols ball and drifts all the way back hogging the ball and wastes the chance. JERMAIN JENAS, annoy little toerag, always seems to be ahead of modric on the pitch when its modrics quality we need in them positions, ball watches and doesn't look at players around him. GOMES needs to sort himself out FAST, quality shot stopper but has been the fualt for many goals this season, (chelsea and everton) needs to take out that dummyhe wears AND START PERFORMING and making correct decisions. palacios should never have been droped. heres how i see a spurs side what could in my opinion improve us!

Just found this statement whilst snooping around for sources about bale moving>>>>>>This is an interview with Tirri from (calciomercato.it)
Quote:
In light of the statements appeared in the early afternoon on the possible transfer of Gareth Bale to Juventus , Calciomercato.it wanted to make a new stock of the situation with the agent Fifa Peppino Tirri , who first to issue further comments kept us said: "I have not spoken to the agent of the player for months does not cooperate more with the agency that represents him. I was only asked for an opinion as a very active market player in England. I repeat that I see a very difficult January, while in June could be greater opportunities. " Another player pulled insistently at Juventus is Glen Johnson of Liverpool . "He has a very important assessment, even for him, I see very hard. Players of this kind is unlikely to move in January to less than deals without. Sorensen is growing, strengthening the Juve could have it at home. "

Jermaine

You are mostly right in your summary, as you know i am not a big fan of the current philosophy at arsenal.
I could accept it if it were finances, but imo it is AW playing god with football. But to many arsenal fans, it is arsene first, arsenal second, crazy.
Cesc is the main man, and yes it will be hard to keep such a great player without having a decent team around him, in our defence to have achieved the consistancy that we have over rhe last 6 years with some very poor players is amazing.
Nasri is class, but do not forget his favoured posisition is central, we play him wide most the time, so we could see a lot more from nasri going forward.
I agree that you guys have the greater ambition at the moment and are more likley to sign better players, call it the circle of life, your turn is coming round and maybe we will sit in the dulldrums for a period of time, however don`t forget the effect that moving stadiums could have on you! could change your developement dramatically, as could Arry`s departure to the England team.
And don`t worry too much about the 6 years, after all its a long way off of 50 isn`t it!
ike.

03 Jan 2011 12:27:25
Ike
i don't think you should be worrying about us infact i think you should be worrying about your own team, beating chelsea doesn't prove anything! 6 years and counting for arsenal fans. a progressing spurs team now full of winners aiming high, this season producing some of the best quality games the premiership has seen, the most exciting and most electrifying team this season, aiming high, signing top notch players! ike you know what, years ago we would sign some good talent only for them to be snatched off us by utd and bigger clubs but now the tables have turned! players don't want to leave the bond and friendship at our club in beautifull! arsenal on the other hand are a training program, develop your youngsters then watch them move onto bigger teams that win things! fabregas will soon leave, won't be replaced the heart of your team who picks the most incredible passes at times! RVP a glass knee who soon will folow fab, your 2 best players!
IKE could i ask You somthing personal. . . . . if fabregas (undoubtedly the best player at you club) can't carry your team individually to silver how the hell is nasri going to when eventualy fab leaves. because we both know although nasri is to notch he wouldn't even be half as affective as fab has been!
but hey CHEEEEEEEERS IKE

Anyway
i think we have all failed to recognise a monumentus achievement and should take a moment to applaud the undeniable feat that has come to pass with the coming of 2011.
Yes it is the Golden Aniversary since spurs last league title win.
Many have tried but few have succeeded in being able to match such a dismall performance. Despite claiming to be a top four side and boasting such great talent as hobble wobble geordie fat boy they still managed to consistanly under achieve year in year out.
So i propose a toast to the biggest losers around, HAPPY ANIVERSARY AND HERES TO ANOTHER 50 YEARS, CHEERS.

Why would we want Arbeloa. ekotto has been quality this season! we don't need young. we need one top top striker and possibly a defensive mid so modric could have a little bit more freedom!
spurs have been linked with these players!
richards
carrol
dzeko
eto
diarra and robben

thats what ive heard and read and to me it doesn't sound unrealistic as we have already signed a top attacking midfielder in vdv who would attract the attention of other top players. robbens VDV's close friend so that could be a possibility.
ide keep krancjer and sign Sime Vrsaljko another croatian wonderkid who modric advised harry to track down! richards could be a top signing could play both cb and rb great attacking ability aswell.

Bentley will leave that's for certain with Keane already up for sale and Krankjaer on his way.

Bentley to Liverpool (£7m)
Krankjaer to Marseille (£6.5m)
Keane to Villa (£4m)

That leaves room for a couple of midfielders and a striker. I believe we have long looked at Ashley Young and feel he could be an addition that could provide competition for both lennon and bale.

Ashley Young from Villa (£14m)

Secondly a deal is already done to bring scott Parker to the club for around £12m.

Scott Parker from West Ham (£12m)

Thirdly we have been tracking Iaquinta for a long time and reports that he is unhappy at Juventus and wants to play champions league football.

Iaquinta from Juventus (£9m)

1st team against AC Milan

Gomes
Hutton
King
Dawson
Ekotta
Lennon
Parker
Modric
Bale
Van Der Vaart
