With January looming and and extra large squad I ask this question:
To raise funds who would you sell to bring in and why?
I'd sell
Naughton, adi, sigs, and chadli

Go get Di Maria

I would go and get either Pato or the young Milan forward!

I'd keep Naughton he ain't the best but he's decent cover at RB. Sell Adey and bring in Michu.

Michu would be a great addition IMO even though there would definitely be an overinflated fee, possibly around the 20 Mil mark. But he can play in the whole behind or upfront on his own. good in the air and ball with his feet, feel he would compliment our team at the moment.

However I just don't see it happening. I think this is the team we have maybe adding a left back.

I'd keep Naughton but strictly as cover for right back, he is dreadful at left back, which is understandable. But it is hard to watch

I'd sell Ade, Chadli and Dembele . I'd sell Dembele as he seems to be the odd one out in the Midfield 2 that AVB plays, with Paulinho, Sandro and Capoue not sure Dembele will get a look in and I don't think he has progressed in his time at Spurs.

I would than go and buy a LB Coentrao is again being linked and isn't playing much, but IMO Madrid will add a good few million to any player we try and buy from them. I would also look for another striker, El Sharaway from Milan looks possible and fits the transfer policy of being young and having bags of pontential can also play across the forward 3, but a player I would like to see spurs go for is Remy, would be cheaper than El Sharaway and has PL experience can play up top on his own on in the 3 behind. Either way IMO we need a LB and another striker.

No way would I sell Dembele. Chadli I would definitely sell he looks average. If Pato is available for 10m then that's one to look at but it would make more sense to look at a replacement for Adebayor which ties in with a trusted bit of info I got during the summer being that we are very keen on Niang of Ac Milan.

Dumbele 2 in 48 games. What is with him he glides pass players with ease by far our most natural and skilful midfielder. But no end produce or assists. He has had long enough to make an impact at the club. I like him a lot however my head says he has no impact on a game at all. Is he getting played in the wrong position or what. because he has so much skill? Answers on a post card plz

First priority - Coentrao. With rose injured our weak left side is really obvious

second - sell ade. Get chicharito. he's not playing regularly and always pops up with a goal. I agree with thfc4ever Remy is another possibility

Third - sell naughton and get a decent young rb with potential like danny the costa from the second division in Germany

fourth - sell gomes and/or friedal and get a young keeper and/or promote a youth gk

i would not sell chadli or dembele. I think they have a lot to contribute. Dembele can still produce if we give him a little more freedom in the paulinho role and chadli looks like a potential game changer when he finds his feet. he's still a little fresh but whenever I saw him I think his combination of height, speed and skill will eventually pay its dividends. either on the pitch or in the transfer market. don't forget we got a bargain on him. I would give him 2 years to either show he's a sturridge or a babel

To compete in all competitions (including future planning for CL of course) we are building a squad that has 2 players in each position. That allows us to successfully keep the team fresh.

I know we're not used to it but we need to start thinking about the squad now and not the first 11. All this talk of letting people go is often contrary to that.

Also we don't need to sell. We are not a poor club. Before the summer we had made a net gain over the previous 4 seasons in transfers, and then this summer we prob made another few or broke even.

GK - Lloris and Friedel; no need to change that until the summer when we will need to look to replace Friedel who has been a great servant.

RB - Walker and Naughton; that's fine for us as Naughton is good cover and deserves the chance to play some games in his favoured position.

CB - Daws, Verts, Kaboom, and Chichires; it's all good here.

LB -? and Rose. Not including Zeki as it's prob a season too early for him. We need a top class LB as that is our weakest position. Rose won't want to be an understudy so he'll prob go in the summer.

CM - we have a good combo here, Sandro/Capoue as the enforcer, and Paulhino/Dembele as the more box to box player. Great cover and rotation here so don't change anything.

RM - Lamela, Lennon, Townsend ; 3 into 2 doesn't really go, but with some versatility cover is decent. Personally I'd sell Townsend in the summer as I don't think his "cut in and shoot" style works for us. But of course he'll prob show me wrong by getting 10 in a row or something after xmas.

LM - Chadli, Siggs ; I feel a bit sorry for Chadli, not done anything wrong but struggling to get back in. Siggs is developing more into that wide position. Again all good here.

CAM - Eriksen, Holtby ; Eriksen has more vision but Holtby isn't bad either. Good pairing and still developing. Don't change anything.

ST - Soldado, Defoe, Kane. Kane is developing but is not there yet. Should get game time but not to be relied upon quite so soon. Defoe I think should be allowed to leave cheap in January - has been a great servant and should be allowed to go somewhere he can get regular starts for his world cup spot. This leaves a gap and I think we should go for Pato.


Remember lots of new players and they still havn't built a chemistry yet. Way too early to start with more chopping a changing. Pato and a LB should be the 2 signings we go for.

Agree with a lot of that Wulf, but Siggy will never be a take the ball to the line and cross type of player . Like Townsend he will always cut in and shoot, this leads to Soldado being cut out of the game . Lennon might not be the best crosser but will always look to get past his defender and cross the ball . I think we need a LB, CF and LW!
