Was dreading today, but was pleased with performance, a little tinkering and were set for a great season very positive they all seem fit and want to play for each other, deli alli going to be a legend world class player has that magical swagger looks motionless and glides effortlessly , last player I saw to have that magic was called Gascoigne he's going to be a phenomenon ali that is, spurs are on the up just need a few out and a couple in very upbeat about the future .a very happy bobbybox the dream is on

Bobby I thought it was a awful performance hardly no shots on goal sloppy passing and nobody on the bench who could change the game. I agree with Ali who will become a top player I just see the same thing every season not going backwards as a club or either forward just same old spurs

Spurs were fantastic before the goal went in, the best I have seen a Spurs side play for some time in my opinion as we completely controlled the game for 20 mins or so! That said anyone at the game I am sure would agree that the reaction to the goal was a worry, Benteleb and Walker in particular shrunk and went missing, in fact the whole team looked like they just wanted to get to half time in my opinion. in short no leader on the pitch to get hold of the team to remind them about the first 20 mins and drive team on! We lacked pace going forward, Chadli once again done sweet fa for me and will always give you a performance 1 in 4, Beneleb needs to come out of the side, Dembele worked hard and was strong on the ball but what's his best position?? No one can answer that question, not even him I suspect. I don't rate Carl (jockey) walker, always starts wrong side and relys on his pace but always good for a positional mistake and cost a goal (he was a little unlucky yesterday in fairness). I thought Toby looked excellent with Jan yesterday on the plus side. It wasn't a bad performance but it underlined the lack of transfer activity in the creative/forward areas, no go to on the bench and game fizzle away baring a little flourish in last 5 mins. A couple of signings and I saw enough in the first 20 to be optimistic this season!! COYS

We played away at OT against a team that has spent how much in the last 12 months on players . And we could have deserved a point. I'm happier as a Spurs fan than I would be a Man U fan. We know what we need to get in, LVG has bigger issues than MoPo given all the players he has brought it.

I am optimistic and never expected a win yesterday but we have nothing in reserve if Harry is struggling . Yes we have strengthened the defence , and it didn't look bad but from there forward we had nothing . Once again Bentaleb was missing , yes he is a good prospect , but that's in about 1 game in three . Dier as a defensive midfielder , is yes! DIRE!! Dembele , been promising since he has been at the lane , but has never done a thing . Chadli , never plays two games the same! Eriksen , needs to play number ten! We have no creativity from the back , no speed on the wings , and no one to fetch on if we need to change the game!! Why Lennon hasn't been given a squad number I don't know , I would play him over Dembele , Lamela , Townsend , Chadli any day of the week . In fact , if he played defensive midfield , at least he would give his all .
Daniel has to face it , we need to spend £50 million , get creative midfielder , forward and defensive fielder!!

Agree Davo. Remember that in the last 12 months we have brought in £15 more from player sales then we have spent. Add to this the huge reduction in the wages bill. If we could move Ade/Robbie/Townsend and Lennon, we should have a pot of money to spend on new players, unless accountant Daniel is saving the money for the new stadium.
I feel Daniel does not understand that you need a successful team playing attractive football to fill a large stadium on a regular basis. He needs to balance keeping the team up there challenging for Champions League with building a new stadium which will cash in on the support which this attractive team will draw.

We have a good team, furthermore you need to check out the waiting lists for season tickets, we will fill the new stadium, as a few other fans have stated we will sign players before the end of the window that's for sure but they need to enhance our squad. One game in relax. The board are running the club the right way.

Really Cognizant?

How many times are you going to say to me "You have paid off your stadium?".

What difference does it make?
Before we even started paying for our stadium we finished above you.

Whilst we were paying for our stadium we finished above you.

Now we have paid for our stadium, we are still finishing above you.

Moot points my friend.

Please think before you post because you are making a fool of yourself.

Enjoy the rest of your half term.

RedRosie, you could be correct :-)

Until than, its really hard to take you serious.

I'm all for banter, but you are just a bit too moronic and childish for my liking.

I feel we need a right at ticking midfielder, I don't think dembelle has enough pace to play in that sort of position.
I think we should go for lavezzi or and experienced player to bring a bit of creativity to the starting 11 and most importantly to help Kane.

Well if Daniel levy don't sort this out we will have a average season even Glenn hoddle said we need a top midfielder and a striker what club coes into a season with only 1 striker levy out now

Good luck to the boys today and for the season . Trying not to think it but I am hoping for at least a draw today!
Just as I thought Daniel was doing well pre season , he shafts us again . I can understand waiting for the bargains , but all the other top teams have brought and bedded in where needed . My concerns are the same as most , why are Ade , Dembele , Townsend , Lamela ,Lennon still here , and why haven't we replaced them yet . We need a top defensive midfielder , and two players who can play out wide and score goals . If they came from the PL I wouldn't panic as much as they know the game . Let's forget Austin , too much like Kane , buy what we actually need for once!

How has he shafted us?

Our big problem last year is we let in too many goals. Look at goals for and against compared to everyone else last season to see what I mean. We bought Trippier, Alderweireld, and Wimmer early in order to get them working as an organised unit. That's what our focus needed to be and that is what it has been. Defences take longer to sort.

We may not have sold Ade or those others you think should be sold yet but we have moved on Paulinho, Chirices, and Kaboul. Ade maybe would have gone if Tim let him commute.

Thing is you know all of this mate so it's just nerves talking. But let's not have a season of negativity huh? Last year was solid. If MoPo can get the defence drilled it could be a very good year for us, even if we were to lose today.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Aug 2015 15:42:49
Agree with Davo. It was the lack of a defensive midfielder last year which was the main problem. The defence was not that bad but they were left exposed time and time again. Accepted the three new defenders will bring an improvement but without a Sneiderlin type player we will concede a lot of goals again this year.
We badly need at least one ( preferably two) quality strikers and a top class defensive midfielder. A good goal scoring winger would also be nice.

09 Aug 2015 00:08:46
Did we concede a lot of goals against Utd?

What's with all the doom and gloom. If some of you jokers can't see what's being developed at Tottenham then just p*ss off. I'm excited about our current squad with all the young players.

There will be some new signings so what's the problem. We can't go on a moronic spending spree, FFPR'S, what's soo hard to understand. Signing players is incredibly complex nowadays and to get your targets is a lot more difficult than some of you think.

That's true when you don't want to spend the money . Certain teams get the players they want , but spending big doesn't guarantee success , as Manchester United showed yesterday . But , and it's the biggest but you will get , everybody and their dog knows we needed another forward for years . Add to this , a defensive destroyer in the midfield who gets stuck in . I know everyone think Bentaleb is the bees knees , but he isn't top class and isn't likely to be!
