Just heard about luis Suarez wanting out of Liverpool! If we sell Bale (and I hope we don't) would we have a chance or is he definitely after CL football? Cause I think if he sees the type of players we are signing then surely we could pose a threat!

"I want to move to play in the Champions League and there is a club offering me that opportunity. "

-Luis Suarez

Does that perhaps clear it up?

Maybe gooners will offer £40million +£2 eh Ted.
The way your club has acted in this is a joke and embarrassing. He won't be going to arsenil either.

Does that perhaps clear it up?

I know I'll get stick for bringing this back up. but Damiao's agent has revealed his proposed move to Napoli has broken down due to sponsorship disagreements.

Can you see him coming to the PL? Perhaps to Spurs? I heard Southampton were looking at him also.
{Ed008's Note - I highly doubt it..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think we got a much better forward now in Soldado, don't need Damiao

Agree0 Disagree0

That's true Glenn, but we're still stuck withAdebayor. And if something was to happen to Soldado, with his dodgy knee, I don't have any confidence in Adebayor. Or Defoe. To lead the line single handedly.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that ship has sailed.

Flippit

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we'll get Damiao as well. I would not be surprised if we sold Adbayor and Defoe and had a front line of Soldado, Damiao and Morata.

I think we have a slight chance of winning the league

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If we hold on to Bale and maybe add another 1 or 2 I think we can def be in the mix! dunno about winning it tho.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a big jump from 5th one season to winning it the next, even with money and new players coming in.

Senor Bale, Do us all a huge favour Per favore.

Take you Heart shape logo and all your "one man and his dog" DVDs and place them in a warm dark place at opposite end to your head.

We have endured nearly a month of your miserable hard done by hang dog look.

I can take a few days leave at short notice give me a bell and I will happily and personally deliver you to the Bernabeu Stadium where you can be gainfuly employed lacing the boots of a real world class footballer.

If I were Mr Daniel Levy, I would take the greatest delight in making you honour your Contract to the very very last day, thereby ensuring that you never wear a Real Madrid shirt.

I long for the moment that I read you are no longer casting your shadow over our great Club, having ruined our pre season with your selfish attitude and general feigning of phantom injuries. You are not fit to wear the shirt. Just Go. Be Gone, give it two seasons and Swansea will be signing you for £3million and 20 sheepdogs.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Dont be so overdramatic. Bale hasn't said anything and the club has affirmed they want to keep him. He is our player until we get a world record breaking offer paid in installments on our terms. This is the situation where we should be glad we have a chairman like Levy. He will either squeeze every penny out of this transfer or keep bale for our title challenge. Modric took a year but he still performed to earn his transfer the following year. Think about it, if bale doesn't act like a champion madrid will not sign him, they only sign champions. Remember ronaldo, he still did well in his final year even though madrid had already tried the previous two seasons. A sulk is a thing of the past with endorsement deals being worth more than team contracts. Bale knows he must grow his personal brand and he has to do it at whatever club he's in to maximize his earnings.

I've heard from a reliable 'source' that Real Madrid are going to be sponsored by Heinz next year with Ketchup all over this Bale fiasco! {Ed008's Note - LOL

Sir Keith Mills Director at Spurs says keeping bale would be hard and fears he may go, but goes on to say that despite signing 3 players of high standard more are in the pipeline and forwards are AVB's main focus. Sounds good hopefully true but hope we also keep bale.

Even though we only have 3 centre-backs? One injured for the start of the season, one been injured for a year and still not fit and, the other just suffered a knock as well!
Forwards have been our problem for ages and now we've caused ourselves one at the back too. A bit like how we always struggled for away form, sorted that brilliantly last year then took just 2points from Wigan, West Brom, Fulham & Norwich at home.
The point of all this isn't to be negative, it's to just face up to the fact that we always find a way to mess up great opportunities and just miss out in some ridiculous way with one fiasco or another.
Great signings so far, if Bale stays then you'd have to fancy us to have a real tilt at not just top-4 but maybe even higher. However, suddenly we have a potential crisis at centre-back.
To be positive:
Get that Chiriches in ASAP, do a deal they can't refuse for him to come after their 2nd leg of the Champs League qualifier - he looks a quality footballer and is young as well.
If Bale stays then we may have enough already but, Ljajic or Eriksen would be great buys given their contract situations. The former could be £9m and £35k a week, Eriksen could be done for £17-18m and probably not silly wages. If Bale goes then we definitely need one of them plus Bernard and we'll be ok and still well in the black. How's that for positive!? I'd like to see the Europa League left entirely to fringe players to get us through the group phase, if they don't they don't. League has to be our priority and it's far easier to try and win the League Cup for a trophy with just a few games than that marathon tournament.
We're on a knife edge of either something brilliant or yet another wasted chance as always, which way will it go.

Mate you don't need anyone to tell you which way its going to go! You know how its going to go. Don't You?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we will sign 2 more strikers, another midfielder/winger, a Centre back and a left back.

I don't know you tell me which way is it going to go chris kelly

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Chris Kelly fears history will repeat itself again like I do.
There's a real chance to break the habit and it'd be great to take it.

Harry Redknapp is a total chancer with his crazy antics. He had requested Defoe + £9m for Remy, and thought he could exploit Daniel Levy. It seems Levy was equally flippant when he proposed to Fernandez that he must be meaning Remy + £9m for Defoe. Negotiations broke down and Spurs literally slammed the door in QPRs face and told them the deal was off as expectations were miles apart. Remy now looks to be off to Newcastle on loan, how things chance in football.

Any chance we can have the rest of the Modric cash before we give Bale away for 25m installments?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

This is unusual in transfers of this nature. If modric were to leave madrid then we may receive a lump sum. this transfer will most likely be held independant with different payment terms as these are skilled negotiators and it would be an insult to madrid to insinuate they couldn't pay the modric money as per the initial contract when to date I have not heard any complaints.

I am the original poster. I support no English team just an objective observer who's seen this so often he knows exactly how it plays out. Reply 1 summed it up well: I can assess it objectively from both sides. "If Madrid want him they pay us whatever we ask"- that's no entirely true is it. They bid a smidge over the current transfer record and sit and wait til the end of the window for the unsettled player to force a "dream move". He's a depreciating asset if he won't entertain the thought of signing a new contract, which I pressume he won't. I'm sure Mr Levy's all over that!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What ever! Like Bale will sit on the bench whilst everyone else is playing and the transfer window is closed.

If the move happens, it will be down to our (Levy's) decision. And may I add under his conditions.

I would love Eriksen but has anybody seen or know much about Ljajic at Fiorentina?
I've seen bits of him, after the bad headlines he suffered last year and he looks a real player. Just reading an article about how he couldn't believe he was being perceived in that bad way so has made sure he's 100% focussed to prove otherwise. Rumours are Fiorentina have turned down 8m Euros - he only has one year on his contract or it'd be a much bigger price.
Apparently he's on 1.6m Euros a year and a reported 2m a year was touted by Milan, that's under £35k a week.

Seems £9m and £35k a week might have a chance of getting him, worth a look IMO. More so if we lose Bale of course.

Simmo

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree, I think he's probably just as good as Eriksen and not far off Lamela, however with that transfer fee he may want a hefty signing on fee. Also Fiorentina have champions league so this could prove difficult

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, they want to keep him according to some public posturing but that might also be because he's down to his last year and they want to max what they get now or, get his signature on a new deal to be able to make double next year. It would be a gamble but, at £9m (which would be about 2m Euros more than they said has been bid) plus a signing on fee he might still be a bargain. I'm also a big Eriksen fan but realise he's been far more 'awkward' in his comments about where and when he'll go and he'll cost double. Still could be a goer though.
Ljajic got a hard time from Fiorentina officials and fans a year ago when he clapped sarcastically when subbed, the manager went to punch him! Not sure he'd be totally gutted to leave. Depends on how serious Milan are about getting him though as to whether we'd have a real chance.
At that money it feels like one we could do without selling Bale to really put the icing on the cake (if we also sign a CB that is!)
