After watching the Brazil-Columbia game, I was really impressed with Monaco's James Rodriguez. His desire and hunger are exactly what we need but I know nothing about him! Is he like this for his current club or just his country?

Anyone? Eds?

Think he expressed a desire to go to Spain rather than the Premier League, due to the physicality of the PL, doesn't consider himself ready for it. Though a truck load of money might change that of course.

Agree0 Disagree0

As a target totally and utterly unrealistic, fantastic player thought.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree that with his showing at the World Cup he may now be an unrealistic target hence this post on the banter page. But I was wondering if he was good for his club?

As someone posted in a different thread, we are struggling to attract the top world class players that we crave. I do however contradict myself slightly in the fact that I believe Soldado is world class and will come good next season!

Either way, what kind of transfer fee and wages would he command for a tsfr?

Agree0 Disagree0

Well he moved last season for 40m and heaven knows what wage he is on at Monaco. one thing is for sure you don't go there for the opportunity to play for the club!

Unfortunately at this stage we are not going to attract top players we have lost that momentum in my opinion, that said we do have some quality and with the right additions in the right position (please no more number ffing 10's) plus right direction we can surprise a few next season.

Sadly I don't think Saldado is world class, would love to be proved wrong but I didn't see anything last season to suggest he is a world beater. need to see a lot more than a few nice touches.

Cheers S.T.I.D. Agree that we have lost momentum and Soldado only showed glimpses but hopefully he will be settled this season and show why we bought him! I truly believe he will come good!

Fingers crossed fellow Spurs fan, believe me no one will be more happier than me if he does come good. quietly optimistic about the new season but need to see a few new additions especially at the back! We obviously must keep our top names also.

Fingers are crossed and miracles can happen! I just agreed to a post by the Oracle, 100 percent lol. I would love blind to sign for us :)

Hoddle Waddle

Life is too short to worry about what might never happen. Even if Arsenal signs all those players there is no guarantee they will be a success.

Arshavin, Rosicky, Podolski and Ozil are all players I would have loved to see at White Hart Lane, but none of them has really delivered for Arsenal, so there is no reason to fear that Sanchez or Balotelli would do any better.

If the likes of Ibrahimovich (Barcelona), Kaka (Real Madrid) and Torres (Chelsea) can fail, anybody can.

Hi all. I'm worried that we can not attract any big name any more! After this transfer window I expect us to fall behind the big hitters and worst of all arsenal. We blew the bale money badly apart from eriksen just wondering how much transfer kitty we have this season

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Realistically, the kitty will be minimal, unless we sell.

We don't generally make any operating profits and we are borrowed up to hilt to pay for the Northumberland Park Development.

I think the new TV contract is much bigger than the last one, so that will give us some leeway.

Personally, I would rather we spent well than spent big.

Blimey MrG, the windows only just opened! Don't worry about who the others buy, it's out of our hands!
Mopo obviously has been told of a budget, he has started clearing the deadwood! We don't need to buy a lot, just keep the good ones we have and clear out the rest . Lamela, Soldado, Dembele, will come good this year if we play to their strengths . Fill the positions we know need filling, and please, give Coulibilly a start ahead of Kane!

You say we cannot attract the big names anymore but realistically we never have. We sign good young players with potential or good premier league players. I can't think of one top player we have signed in his prime it isn't and has never been our policy.

People like Davies are sensible buys good young prospect with sell on potential

I'd like to see some stability this season which I hope mopo brings. With it being the World Cup every tom dick and harry some who we have never heard of before are getting linked with everyone it's what happens. A journalists wet dream!
