Use our rumours form to send us spurs transfer rumours.

Jake Livermore has been recalled which suggests to me that a midfielder is going to exit in this window, Holtby or Capoue or both.
Nani rumour persists and Berba still looking like a probable 3 rd choice striking option
As it stands I would also call back Benni and Tom from QPR and that's the best we will get this January my friends.

I like Tim but levy will not give him any money and a new manager will join after the World Cup where we will see another overhaul as one or two of our best players will get fed up with the constant transition and lack of champions league

As always we will all get over excited and dream of a new era at the lane and I for one will be with you in hoping that we can keep up with the big spenders but realistically we are only where we are because Levy is squeezing every penny out of every deal and I will not knock him for giving us financial stability and hope
we need a new ground and more revenue or a rich Russian or Middle East oil sugar daddy
Whatever happens I love my team and my fellow fans and I know that one day we will get a few breaks, the ball cannot keep falling to the opposition it's against the law of averages and only we can get 4th and still fail but we are Spurs and we know that so keep the faith and remember this once you are spurs you are always be Spurs! It's not optional it's who we are,

We keep swinging from European technical style of manager/coach to good old british manager/coach there is no consistency of philosophy and the person responsible for that is Levy.

The rest is symptoms of the illness.

Holtby out on loan, Defoe sold, trying to sell Capoue, no Lamela, Chadli = rubbish, Siggi = rubbish re-call Livermore nearly £90m spent and only Eriksen and Chiriches starting yesterday is Baldini the answer where do we go from here! how many mistakes can Levy keep making? the players and both managers have done well to keep us in 5th even tho' we are only 3 points away we are miles away in terms of football goals and performances

Here is what I think we need to do.
Get rid of chadli and Sig for definate not good enough at all. Then we must purchase a left winger left back and possibly a striker. We lacked so much width it was unreal few times we did get it out wide we caused problems but there was never a left winger to pass it to obviously we have townsend who can play there but we need another I.e muniain or konoyplankdhaisbdudbs however its spelt all I know is he ruined England both times he played us espicially Kyle walker

AGREED! this is totally my opinion, our left side is so weak, and Sherwood is being totally naive, he talks of "trust" and "knowing" players. needs to open his eyes. Gilfi is not good enough or Chadli and Holtby Meh! We're lucky to be 5th. buy a left winger call Benni back and we can compete. rant over

We can bleat and moan as much as we like about the officials but let's face facts, we ain't good enough and nor is Sherwood! This isn't the first game where our midfield has been torn apart time and time again, our left back has been destroyed, and our No 20 ( Dawson ), made to look like a Sunday league player! Everyone knew we needed a defensive midfielder in that game, but no! Everyone knew we needed a top class left back, but no! All the managers in the PL know that Dawson is slow and always gets caught out of position, except AVB and Sherwood! We all knew that Ade would come back, play well for a couple of games, then sulk! Yes we have a bad injury list, but so does a lot of the other teams!

I think we can be good enough for top 4 with most of our first choice squad but, still need a proper left-back and cover up front. Then to set-up correctly against the opposition. Fair enough it can be 4-4-2 against plenty of teams, especially at home, but never against Chelsea or Man City. Even if they weren't at their best, it leaves you outnumbered in the middle of the park and then ending up over-run in defence. Basics!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree that Dawson isn't good enough, but you can't blame Sherwood for playing because Vertonghen and Kaboul were both unavailable, so he didn't have a choice. Rose didn't deserve to be sent off, and he certainly wasn't the worst player on the pitch before his sending off.
Losing to Man City is nothing to be ashamed about, they have been some of the best football in the world this year. Slandering Sherwood for losing this game is highly unfair, his record still remains brilliant, and results speak for themselves.
There are some very important games coming up against Everton, Newcastle and Chelsea. Some of these are very important and very winnable, so judge him after these results.

Agree0 Disagree0

We can't blame injuries we spent 100m strengthening the squad supposedly.

Rose and Dawson are not good enough! we were set up wrong from the beginning. Our midfield was never going to compete with their pace and accuracy of passing. And we don't have a finisher to take our chances.

I lost count of how many times we gave the ball away, not intercepted passes but simply bad passes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets face it we got the team wrong. Desperately required a defensive midfielder in there. Bentaleb, is a great young talent, but he has no chance against Yaya, Silva and Fernandinho.

Just like Dawson and Rose have no chance against Ageuro and Navas. Dawson and Rose are just not good enough. But they are all we have got until Jan comes back and we need to sign a quality left back.

We also need another striker not least for cover if there is an injury to Ade or Soldado.

Finally, Sherwood is not a manager. His comments afterwards about Man City; it was as if he didn't care that we lost and knew that we would from the outset. Poor show from him.

We are never going to get fourth with Liverpool, Everton and United better than us. It's competitive and we don't have the right man at the helm. 6th place would be a result.

Cannot wait for Van Gaal to come in.

Agree0 Disagree0

No, you can't blame Sherwood for the injuries to Vert and Kaboom, but Kaboul has been injured for a long time and it was always going to be a risk with him . You can't blame him, till after Friday evening about the left back, should have been sorted before season started . But he is to blame for the stupidity and stubbornness not to play Capoue as a defensive midfielder, especially last night! Everyone knows how city play, how Arsenal play, so play the strengths needed!
One thing that will be interesting, when Vert is fit, will Sherwood have the balls to drop Dawson, I doubt it!

Agree0 Disagree0

The problem now is with/if Rose is suspended Verts will likely be pushed back into the LB position.Which will only go irritate him further about his role with us.

Disgusting key decisions tonight, both from the same moron. Haven't seen a replay of the 'goal', just seen lots of reports that it was probably onside. As for the penalty and red card, I don't need a replay, it was such a clean tackle and the lino didn't flinch to start with, ref gives a corner and suddenly he lifts his flag up. Such a delay, what could've gone through his mind to pause for a moment and decide it was a penalty? Ridiculous and then a red card as well, wasn't he a bit wide (that I do need to see again)?

At 1-0 down we'd got some sort of foothold and were competing, City definitely ran out of steam for a bit. Yes they're a great side, better than us and everybody else but, their away record isn't brilliant and they were gifted the match. They may have won anyway but it was not looking certain at all.

Bentaleb was surely coming off if Dembele wasn't injured? He was way out of his depth. Generally great effort all round I think, a very risky set-up but it wasn't that which cost us in the end. Needed Vert and Sandro. Chiriches was very good at times.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

And Fernandinios blatant attempt to punch the ball out to stop capoue scoring, personally think that should of been a red, blatant professional fowl!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, shame he didn't keep it out really. May have converted the penalty and been 10 against 10 with our tails up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Simmo, completely agree with you, this game was a game too far for Bentalab! Constantly got caught in possession in the first half and kept giving the ball away. He's going to be a very good player and last night will have be great experience for him, but sherwood should have played Capoue from the start.
