We are pleased to announce that Andre Villas Boas has agreed to become our new manager, he will be given a 3year contract..that will be reviewed in november/december depending on our league position!..he will work with the signings i believe that will benefit the club, and if sold at a latter date?, will make us a nice little profit!

Believable2 Unbelievable4

So who are you to announce this?

You're an idiot..... "will be reviewed in november/december"

Wouldn't of minded getting Marko Reus of germany and borrusia mochengladbach as replacement for modders looks a quality player and scoring 20 odd goals from midfield last season aswell. Have heard he has sinced for dotmund though and news on this ed?

GROVESPUR

Believable0 Unbelievable2

He joined Dortmund in jan, he just went back on loan for the rest of the year. Also, he plays upfront soo get your facts right.

Ed is it true there is a link between lennon and liverpool {Ed007's Note - Of course there is. Google 'The Beatles' and there is a fascinating 'documentary' called the 'The Last Testament of George Harrison' which would have you believe that Paul McCartney actually died in a car accident in 1966 and how a false Paul or 'Faul' replaced him. The band's lyrics, including hidden ones in songs, and the symbology they are famous for supposedly back up the film makers claims and is all explained in it. It is a fascinating insight into the argument of art imitating life or life imitating art.}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Paul McCartney looked dead when performing at the recent diamond jubilee celebrations a bit like the spuds run in to last season.

A lot of talk about a new keeper coming in for example Hugo Lloris who would cost at least £10 million, what about Alan McGregor, he's rejected the offer to transfer to the newco therefor will probably be available on a free. Any thoughts?

Does anyone know if there is still interest in higiuan, i think hes class and would be brill between bale and vdv (or lennon) in a 4-3-3.

I think our biggest problem now is getting a striker. i dont see remy or damio coming this summer. Anyone think of an alternative?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree with damiao and remy not coming.
I think we may go for ade, Sturridge and/or ba (please no)

Agree1 Disagree0

I've heard a lot about yilmaz in turkey, lazio had a 5.5 mil bid accepted but the deal fell through, so could be a potential bargain. If VDV stays there must be half a sniff of tempting Huntelaar. I'd like De Jong, but newcastle look the favourites for him. What about Sturridge? AVB had him scoring goals at chelsea, he wants to leave, and can play out wide as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

What about dzeko from City I believe they want rid and he was excellent when he was played all the time at the begining of last season

Just a thought fellow yids,

If Big Jan wants to join us that bad, and it would be a massive step up in quality for him alos. Why not waive his 15% fee or come to a kower agreement?

Is this all smoke and mirrors and in effect he has decided against joining us?

THFC4EVER

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Dutch press reporting it was agreed today. We pay 10mill with 2mill add ons.
Verts getting 15% of the 10mill but not 15% of the 2mill.
Makes sense for hold up really.
Expect 3 new names next week
Verts, Syggs and AVB.
Oh and a new kit
COYS

Agree0 Disagree2

The deal should still happen, I imagine the issue has been blown out of proportion by the press. Thinking about it logically, why would Ajax refuse to part with 15% of £9.6 mil, when they'll lose him for nothing next summer?

Agree0 Disagree1

It's not us who are the problem. It's ajax for refusing to honour a legally binding contract

At the risk of repeating myself, I think a bid for balzaretti would be interesting IMO he has been the defender of the euros for italy, plays LB, attacks and defends extremely well, very similar to walker.
It seems AVB is almost with us now as is siggi, passed his medical and agreed personel terms. 2 very good appointments IMO. Hopefuly Big Jan will follow. However fellow yids, do NOT expect Moutinho to follow his former coach to WHL. I am not completely convinced that Modric is going, as I can not see where he will go, Barca and Mardrid both have immense players in his position and as Guti (Former Madrid Player) has said is he good enough for these teams?, Chelsea also have a wealth of creative players. ManU have signed the Japanese guy, Scholes for another year, carrick, plus the scottish lad (whose name escapes me) back from a season injury, anderson, park si jung, not that all of these are as good as Modric but do they really need another midfielder or afford it at the moment. This only leaves ManC don't think Levy would sell to them or any other english club. The big selling russains or PSG, and surely any move to these clubs would be purely motivated by money more so than football. It seems that a few fans on here mainly 'The Oracle' still think that Damiao is on his way, and although I am not ITK or have any inside knowledge, he will not be coming to WHL, a d translation of his comments made in a brazilian newspaper basically stated "the only officail offer is only from Tottenham, so I am not worried and happy to stay where i am". A striker is most defiantly needed however if AVB is appointed as is likely, then his favoured formation of 4-3-3, means that only 1 striker is required and bearing in mind that this striker will be flanked by Bale/Lennon/VDV any striker is bound to score goals, so i would like to see us take a chance on luuk de jong from fc twente.

Also need a goalkeeper lots of names being touted but i think an offer for fraser foster as an understudy to friedel for a season, would be a good solution. Next season starting XI i would like to see

Friedel
Walker, Kaboul, Big Jan, Balzaretti

Siggi, sandro, Bale/Modric

VDV, De Jong, Bale/Lennon

Subs:- Foster, Naughton, Caulker, GDS, Parker, Coulibialy, Defoe

Spend around £46m in total
£12m - Big Jan
£12m - Balzaretti
£8m - Siggi
£14m - De Jong
£2m - Foster

Bearing in mind players already gone/rumoured to leave-

£7m - (Rumoured) Charlie - Gone
£4m - Krancjar - Gone
£3m - Bentley
£3m - Jenas
£5m - Bassong
Free - Gallas
£5m - Gomes

Net spend of around £19m.

THFC4EVER

Believable0 Unbelievable2

I like the team however I would play them differently.

Friedel

Walker/Kaboul/Jan/Balzerretti

Siggy/Sandro/VDV

Lennon/DeJoong/Bale

Would love to see VDV play the Modders role as I think that position would give him less need for any sudden explosive running which would hopefully lessen his injury worries and the boy can really pick a pass with those diagonal balls to Lennon or just feed forward for bale and let them two do all the running as that's where their best IMO

Feel free to critise and tear it apart but it's only my opinion

Mk1

Agree1 Disagree0

Don't think LB will be our priority this summer tbh, vertonghen can play there and BAE is a good attacking full back. The main focus, once the midfield is sorted, will be two new centre forwards. Also nonone has mentioned the return of huddlestone, i reckon he could be brilliant as the anchor in midfield as avb likes his DM to come get the ball and start attacks.

Agree0 Disagree0

You really need to stop using friedels name. hes 41 for christ sake! First things first....................NEW KEEPER.

With AVB's arrival imminent you have to ask what players are really needed?! AVB plays a high up defence so you can rule Ledley king out of getting a new contract cos he has no pace. AVB likes to play 4-3-3! I could see this benefitting bale and Lennon! But modric? I could see moutinho being better suited but that could be a pipe dream. Plus sigurdsson. Moutinho, sigurdsson playing round sandro, Lennon and bale playing either side of a new striker. Ade? Remy? Damioa? I think any striker could stick the ball in the net with these players supplying!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

So where will Parker play? or have you forgotten about him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully yes . Sorry but Sandro is twice the player Parker is . He will do as a sub if we need to change , but he was only ever a bit part player . We are making big changes at the club , lets give the younger ones a chance , unlike Arry who would sign and play old crocks all the time

Just wanted to say I'm not so sure modric will leave this summer. He has four years left on his deal, the situation regarding champs league remains the same as last summer, and i dont see anything concrete suggesting someone will make a substantial offer. Hearing that the madrid interest has cooled, and if you look at it logically, why spend 35 mil on a modric when you have alonso, khedira, ozil, sahin, granero, kaka? Surely even ambramovic isn't going to spend big money on another creative midfielder; hazard, marin, mata signed in the last 12 months, and lampard reenergised last season. United have already signed kagawa, scholes has signed another year and they have carrick; do they have 30-35 mil to spend on modric, when they clearly have a more pressing need for a midfield enforcer e.g tiote.

Would love to see the Italian left back Chelleni (probably spelt wrong) join us. I would break the bank for him Imagine a back four of Chellini, Vertonghen, Babul/Dawes and Walker. Chelleni and Bale would be brilliant on the left and boy can the Italian defend. Would also like the Portugal goal keeprer. He is brilliant and would not command the fee of over rated Hugo LLoris and a few others.

The Don

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Chellini(spelling) is nit naturally a left back and mainly a centre back. I can't seeing him leaving juventus to join or or even italy.

I can't wait till we sign babul !

Agree3 Disagree0

@The Don, Giorgio Chiellini is probably the most underated Defender out there. I too would Love us to make a bid for him but i just can't see that happening. I wouldn't want Hugo Lloris as hes far to small and hesitant to make it in the PL. Someone like Handanovic would really boast the confidence in our back line.

Ins:
Handanovic, Vertonghen, Moutinho, Cavani!

Outs:
Bentley, Pienaar, Jenas, Friedel, Khumalo, Modric, Krancjar(Gone), Corluka(Gone)

The Saint.

Agree0 Disagree0

In reply to the smart ass who can not wait for us to sign Babul. That was a mistype, ie. hit b instead of K. Notice you did not have the ba--s to sign your post.

The Don

Agree2 Disagree0

The Saint you're the worst poster on this website. Cavani? To spurs? You have to be kidding me. The other three are probably reasonable but add Sigurdsson to that list and Rafael Van der Vaart is leaving for sure. Good luck trying to get into the top 10 next season.
