Liverpool clearly the pride of the Premiership is a fantastic crubling stadium. What ever happened to the alternative, futuristic stadium designs proposed by former owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett Jnr which have been ditched for good.
Sound like the owners will get a sponsor and patch up the horrible old stadium in the most prestigious neighbourhood Merseyside.
Liverpool will try desparately to remember the distant past. The brilliance of the 1970s & 1980s and the pedigree that make them a formibadle adversary.
The sad truth is they are a club in dire financial straights, have ditched stadium plans for IKEA alternatives, have blown their next 3 years transfer budget on average players and have an old legend in Daglish that appear technically inept.
Gerrard 31, Carragher 34, Kuyt 31 & Bellamy 32 are all coming to the end of an era. The new replacements have cost as much as Mancini has been splashing upi the road. Adam £9m, Downing £20m, Enrique £5m, Poulsen £4.5m, Meirles £11.5m, Konchesky £3m, Suarez £22.8m, Carroll £35m, Henderson £16m, Johnson £18m & Aquillani £20m, Reira £8m, Dossena £7m and dont forget the brilliant cheap aquisition of Keane for £20.3m. These were hardly the replacements over the last 4 years I would have had in mind for a Premiership heavyweight. £200.1m spent and most cannot even get in your dwindling side let alone a REAL Top four challanger.
Lets face it my dear Scousers, you know you have blown the club to pieces over the last 4 years, and that £200m expenditure with only one aggressive red card prone team wrecker with any real talent. So you have resorted to coming on the Spurs site to pathetically try to console yourself from your own mutiny up at Anfield.
Liverpool and Arsenal are both on self destruct, but unlike Man City and Chelsea they havent got the cash to get them out of the mess.

I'm not even joking! Liverpool actually have no one good except suarez. Maxi phaha, downing(just a left footed bentley). Ferrara is the most overrated player. Come back when you have a goo team.

I actually don't think maxi is that bad ... But he wouldn't get into our team ....
Out of liverpools players I would have
Suarez ...... Ummm and maybe Enrique as cover for bae ....
Other than that I can't think of anyone good enough to fit into our first 11 or bench ...

The 4-0 annihilation at the lane still hurts does it?
or is it the 2 victories we enjoyed last season?
or the 2 victories the season before?
or the lack of any european football?
or perhaps the thought of another year without champions league next season?
or the waste of space currently charging around masquerading as a centre forward in your colours?
or the realisation that king kenny is simply not the next messiah?
Agree3

Why exactly would modric want to go to Liverpool ? Or vdv for that matter ? Silly silly racist *referring to quite a few fans making monkey impressions at evra which is disgusting and booing him because of Suarez ban * Liverpudlians ....

We are currently in a situation where we wish to offload players, but are unwilling to spent, due to the fact that Redknapps future is insecure (court and england job). For this reason expect a clearout and a couple of loan deals:
Pavlyuchenko, Pienaar, Bassong and Gio will all leave with gio going to spain as known, bassong and pienaar gathering interest from qpr and everton and pav heading to russia or potentially sunderland.
Bassong and gio will not need to be replaced immediately, whereas pav and pienaar will be.
Expect loan deals for Juves out of favour winger Milos Krasic ( hence perm for Falque) and a suprising loan move for Carroll of liverpool. He wants to leave merseyside, following speculation that they tried to offload him to city, with Harry interested once again. Unlikely, I know, but liverpool are willing.

U still don't get it! Spurs may be in a good state financially but the Banks are broke there even buying there own debt on the bonds market trying to keep the whole thing afloat, There is no money in the Banks
Wait a couple of years & transfer fees will slash in half then spurs will be in prime position to compete for top stars for any club with massive debts the future don't look good they'll be forced into firesale of there assets.

Did you actually read the replies to your last post? And another thing if what you are saying is true and banks won't let you spend just 30/40 million where in the hell are we borrowing 300/400 million for a new stadium from? Muppet!
Agree0

Ok leave a name i can reply to b4 gaping me childish names. As for what newspapers say u would b very naive to believe them they are the ones with influence over who. Gets elected, If you knew anything u would know we have to get private investment for stadium.
Like it or not the fiat system of banking is doomed they will cover there heads in the sand & deny the fact just like u but the dollar as thw federal reserve currency days are numbered & we will see a return to the gold standard as reserve.
Your point of 30/40ml its not just that sum but wages agent fee signing on fee that has to b added in , so a 40ml player real cost with wages etc could end up been up to 80ml.
I would love for us to b able to go out & sign benzema's of this world but unless Joe Lewis decides to dip into hi own pocket I cant see it happening.
it would b nice to talk only about football but like everything else in life it is subject to politics, maybe your to young or just naive to realise that.
I've worked in media & music industry to know how the game works & the last people u should form an opinion from is the media. If you want to be informed listen to what independent economists with nothing to gain to hear the truth.
I take no pleasure in saying this as I'm Irish & were up the river without a paddle as well.
In the end time will tell but all il say is b it 2,3ir 5 years the house of cards will fall.
Peace out.. Espur

'Your point of 30/40ml its not just that sum but wages agent fee signing on fee that has to b added in , so a 40ml player real cost with wages etc could end up been up to 80ml.' actually the 30/40 ml mentioned was by you in a previous post, and are you really that naive to believe the whole stadium is gonna be paid for by private investment. Even if it weren't surely we would owe money back to these 'private investors' which would be the same as borrowing from the bank and coming out of any money we did have - I think Levy and the people with much better business brains than you or me would know whether it was worth there while to invest in the stadium if it's gonna end after a couple of years...
Oh and the name, Kalrez
Agree0
Disagree0
Kalrez I've never said stadium wouldn't get built or that I know better than levy & with your funding argument a large chunk of stadium will b from private funding & if course they will want a return on there investment but with naming rights & sponsorship deals will b attained. The plans tor new stadium no longer include a hotel & have been changed to a college as it is seen as more attractive to investors.
As for 30/40ml reference I was referencing transfer fee for player & further post hidden cost & feel your been pedantic for the sake of argument.
I've worked in media for a long time & know how things get spun & inform my opinion by following people like constantin Gurdgiev( university lecturer & former economist ECB) Danny Brown ( called the bubble burst b4 anyone else) David mcWilliams( economist & author) plus boots by people like Max Keiser who worked on wall street( he's a bit of a nut job but has a track record of predictions proven correct). Also by following blogs by rueters & following the stock exchange( if a club is listed u will find out if they have received or bid for a player as it has to b declared).
So i may not know as much as levy but it is an informed view & not some rose tinted view made by what they read in a daily rag or a media that wouldn't lie straight in bed. One more thing Cameron walked away from euro summit bcoz he refused for there to b reforms made to the banking sector & had nothing to do with joining euro.

Hi Ed, I have scrolled down the rumours page and I have heard loads about redknapp flying out somewhere. Has he even said he's going to watch someone?! {Ed001's Note - it seems to be just rumours, I am not sure, he would have to have permission to leave the country during a court case, so it seems highly unlikely to me.}
Believable0

Ed he stated after the match against Watford that he was going to watch I think he said two games .... As he said hes flying out to watch a game. And I depends on the terms from the courts if they think he'd be likely to do a runner they wouldn't allow him to leave ...

Seriously deadbeats not good enough just shows u lot haven't a clue about players Coleman & isla are far better at crossing a ball than anything we have down the right at moment, your the kind of fans that believe the agent driven hype about players!
If u hadn't noticed English banks are broke so there not going to let. Clubs splash 30-40ml on players bcoz in a few years its all going to go belly up,When Cameron wouldn't compromise with Europe he committed financial suicide so get it into your heads there will be no hazard type signing Banks can't give out money they don't have.
By the way spurs lad your opinion is meaningless as u said Agger is worse than bassong just shows u don't know what to look for in a player,
Espur

Agger is probably as good as bassong but they are both crap , much better centre halfs playing in the championship . As for the banks , they are in the game to make money and they are always happy to invest when they are sure the debts are repaid . Spurs are in a good financial position , so will have no problems with the bank !
Davo {Ed001's Note - I have to say you are wrong, Agger is top class, his weakness is that he is injury prone, but his ability is superb.}

Er have you actually read the papers about our banks and the euro? Loads of people are starting to put money into our banks as we are seen as a safe haven compared with europe

1, Agger is a good player, and IS better than Bassong. I do not know how anyone could say otherwise.
2, Didn't Royal bank of Scotland make a 50 million profit last year?
3, we are in stronger position than the Euro, that's why Cameron didn't want to become part of the Euro currency.

Unfortunately football is political, and if it wasn't Boris the muppet Johnson would not be offering to pay money towards infrastructure for the new stadium.

We don't call him by his proper name here^. We use his gangsta name, BoJo.

Naz your right the euro is proper fooked but therein lies the problem of contagin, As for rbs your not taking in the fact its share price has halved in the last year alone. They have also axed thousands of jobs last year & further 3500 jobs to go in coming months.
As for the 50ml profit u mentioned is down to rehypertation & taking money out of pension fund, creative accounting can be used to move money about but once fiscal report for yr is done it disappears again.
Company directors will also ne taking there bonus's in the coming wks.Add in the fact that 12 UK banks have had there credit rating slashed by moodys & its obvious all is not well.
But nevermind a good old war will sort it out. All they have to do is find a villain- step forward Iran your time is up.
