Hi eds,
I seem to have found contradicting opinions on Adam Lallana. Some say he may well be Pochettino's first signing, others are saying he is already on his way to Liverpool. I just wondered what your take on this is.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Lallana would attract interest from a number of clubs including Liverpool, Spurs, Manchester United and Chelsea if available but Southampton do not want to sell unless a particularly attractive offer is made that matches their evaluation. Liverpool have made an offer which is entirely unacceptable to Southampton - but could make another offer which offers more money and improved terms - or perhaps make an offer that includes a player or two. Do not rule out Manchester United making a substantial offer to take both Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana as a package.}

Ok thanks,
But I understand jay Rodriguez is still a plausible option.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Yes, if he can prove his fitness and recover from injury before the transfer window closes.}

I didn't think Rodriguez was that good tbh, is he?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed008's Note - I think he's a good player who's shown glimpses of potential maybe a club like Spurs can take him to that next level..

Have we any chance of getting left back Ricardo Rodriguez eds?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - None without showing at least a tiny bit of interest in him.}

Can believe the fact that some on here are already slagging of Pochettino/didn't want him appointed. He's the best we could get IMO. LVG has had very shaky player relationships in the past (love/hate) and isn't that why we got rid of Sherwood. Additionally as he held out for Man utd, it showed he didn't want the job. While the idea of De Boer was fine, he has won in Holland only at the biggest club in the country. He is unlikely to be better than Pochettino in my eyes and he talked far too much about seemingly very little, again almost Sherwood esque. In Pochettino we have a young, ambitious coach who plays a brilliant style of football, remind you of anyone? (Martinez, Rodgers) Let's all get behind him, give him AT LEAST one season to build his own team, playing his style of football and enjoy the results.

Before anyone jumps on my back to make it clear I in no way am saying that LVG/FDB equal with Sherwood, merely share some characteristics

Totally agree Yorkshire spur! With all the negativity around his appointment he is up against it already! A few bad results or performances and WHL will be moaning and groaning, concerned!

I am right behind the guy, would have been right behind de bour but he has just as many question marks over him. Dutch league, wally with the Brolly enough said!

Big names - I love dreaming too, Levy was talking to LVG and he played us like a fiddle so it came down to a choice between de bour and Poch! We got the right man in my opinion and its time to back the guy

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly, bring on next season!

Baldini is in Barcelona! Alexis Sanchez?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mo po confirmed, 5 year contract

Agree0 Disagree0

Bale is world class one of the greatest spurs players ever 55 goals from midfield the greatest players ever to come out of wales 2o goals for madrid in his first season I can't remember any other brittish players doing that he has everything

Agree0 Disagree0

And Hoddle your point is, what! We all know Bale is world class!

i will support mo po but not happy with the appointment I can see levy sacking him by christmas all other big clubs get the big names we go for the cheap and easy to sack option look at arsenal if wenger was to leave they were going for klopp Manchester United got lvg I also feel sorry for soton we seem to mug the off they were playing good football under hoodle we took him then we took they best defener at the time in dean richards then we took their superstar in bale now we have got pocchetino the soton fans must hate us

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Way of the world! Huddle wasn't any good as a manager, and their superstar Bale, wow that's a statement! Bale wasn't even a superstar with us for a long time!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets all get behind him. I wanted De Boer and apparently he was first choice at one point but the Bergkamp situation with being an ex gooner and not flying plus Overmars and De Boer talking to the media was too much for Levy.

Personally I don't think Pochettino is such a bad choice.

If we brought it De Boer, Van Gaal, Martinez etc we would have all expected instant success and there would be great pressure for them to perform instantly.

Pochettino by all means is the cheap option from Levy but he has a year under his belt at Southampton and play attractive counter attacking football utilising his full backs and also loves a number 10 (lalana currently)

Think this will suit our style and get the best out of Erikson.

Just hope he gets time and input in the players coming and going.

Less preasure on the team and manager will be a good thing.

Onwards to the new season - hopefully a bit of stability - playing players in their correct positions and getting the most out of the clubs top assetts if they stay - vertonghen, lloris, lamela, erikson, dembele, sandro

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Will top assets stay or be as underwhelmed as we are? Espanyol were bottom when he was sacked, Southampton have had a good season but in previous years so have Fulham, West Brom, Stoke etc. It is another hope-for-the-best appointment, a broken clock is right twice a day and all that, same-old.
I'll support him and us but when he gets to training and sees Rose instead of Luke Shaw he is going to immediately, loudly exclaim something in very very clear English (or should I say French).

Agree0 Disagree0

Plays the football we like to watch yes, but can he keep the players we want, and will levy let him dump the crap and back him in the market! How much would we get in total for ; Kane, Dawson, rose, Siggy, Kaboul, Naughton, Paulinho, Ade, BAE, dembele or Capuoe, Livermore, Obika,? Answers on a postcard please and send them to
Daniel Levy, care of Tottenham football club!

Agree0 Disagree0

About 85m Davo!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry to break the bad news to you Davo but I think you'll find Mopo will stick with Rose, Dawson and Kane. Please don't top yourself the upside is we could have a new manager by January.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes for about 3 weeks, then after the first game he will be giving them away!

Tino it is then. I'm just happy it isn't moyes or Benitez. From what's said poch doesn't rate the europa league, which is a huge plus. Avbs obsession with that 3rd rate competition cost us ecl. Also is there anyone else available that could get the best out of lamela. Now is the time to clear out the dire rose, dawson, naughton, Townsend and Kane. Sigg, holtby and chadli can leave. Selling that lot will raise good funds for a class lb, cb and a striker.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Palace supposed to be after Dawson and Siggy, hope its true but Rose is being offered new contract after interest from west spam, bloody hope not!

Agree0 Disagree0

Davo

It may be that the new contract for Rose is just to ensure we get a decent fee if somebody is interested in him.

However, in the short run we cannot dump both Ekotto and Rose without something coming in. If we can get a replacement lined up, we can start to listen to offers, but not before.

Agree0 Disagree0

True, but surely someone is already lined up, it's been 3 bloody years . We have fryers, and Vert as a reluctant back up, so no left back is better than Rose and BEA to be true!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Kolasinac and Radu have been looked at for LB. However, there is growing interest in Ryan Bertrand from Chelsea. The immediate focus seems to be at centre back where Radu can also be used - keep an eye out for Savic's name to crop up. Much of this will be something the new manager needs to address. Lovren could be available but Spurs have not shown any interest yet.}

Ed is Sanchez of Barca available? Any ideas why Baldini is there?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There has been interest from Juventus in Sanchez and there is no secret that his agent has confirmed that they would be willing to meet the terms that the player desires. However, they are far from agreeing a figure with Barcelona for the sale - very far indeed. Barcelona will be willing to let Sanchez move on and would be open to using him in a player exchange deal. Barcelona will perhaps look to replace Fabregas with Vidal and will perhaps be looking to that as an option whilst there is such a difference between what is being asked and what is being offered. I have no idea why he is there.}

Savic's name came up regarding a swap deal with Chiriches - sounded unlikely to me, as most swap deal rumours are more fantasy than others.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kolasinac is a bit of a nutter isn't he? Has some decent attributes, would fit MoPo's style I think. He'll do for me, one thing Tim was right about is us being 'too nice' at times.
