Erik Lamela has been left out of the Roma starting 11 tonight. Sounds like a good sign for Spurs

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hearing that the Gooners are now sniffing around Lamela. FFS get the deal done.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thankfully they now want di maria for £25.8m I heard, they can take that rat of a man as long as we get lamela- lamela is much better and younger and is more versatile and a score. COYS

Agree0 Disagree0

"Rat of a man" is that because he turned down spurs and wanted to go to a big club?

Agree0 Disagree0

"big club"

Agree0 Disagree0

A big club that plays champions league football! How are spurs classed as a big cub? What does your history tell you? What have you achieved in recent years?

Agree0 Disagree0

No in terms of CL teams Spurs are not a "big club" but in terms of every team in say the top 3 leagues I think you'll find Spurs are very much a "big team". The problem is CL teams cannot tell the difference and Spurs fans want so much to be amongst the top teams in Europe. Thing is everyone can tell Spurs should be taken seriously but opposing fans will use the fact spurs are not a "big team" to try and belittle THFC but Spurs fans aren't bothered with these tactics as we know times are changing and very soon Spurs will be a regular CL team. Enjoy it whilst you can because it will not last. The mighty spurs are on the up!

Anyone else worried about how we are only scoring pens, two games two pens in league games. We need two good strikers to play up front

Believable0 Unbelievable0

As long as we win I don't mind but are system we can't play two up top that's why we want to get in a creative player who can also score goals

Agree0 Disagree0

Not worried at all, we are very early in the season and the team is still getting to know how each other operates and tbh, we are creating chances from all over the team.(Paulinho, Soldado, Townsend, Vertonghen and Dawson etc). I am genuinely excited about this season. The fact that we are getting penalties this season has impressed me and not only that, we are scoring them also. Soldado is one cool customer from the spot!

We have a history of starting slowly but at least we are winning. That to me coupled with a stronger team in depth gives me hope of finishing in the top 3 not just the top 4! Also it doesn't look like we have finished in the tsfr window yet.

I know the man who shall not be mentioned is going/gone but can't help but hope that he stays as I truly believe if he did stay we would be title contenders for sure. Having said that, I can't wait for the return of Lewis Holtby as I feel he is going to be a gem this season!

Top 3 I believe is a realistic aim this season and the finals of the Europa League!

Agree0 Disagree0

First part of winning is NOT to concede either.!

Live in Hull but family member living in Finchley close to things says Bale went to Marbella to think about his futre, goes to Barnetts home in Spain when injured, things been stated in press all not TRUE bale caught in dilema, loves spurs wants big move, but the old saying playing in his head better the devil you know the frightening thought of the unkown, already Madrid are saying they do not want to upset Ronaldo by making bale most expensive player, bale going would cause ripples in dressing room with big ego and bale starting to think about these things, not done deal yet ,

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Bobbybox. I would love this to be true, Bale decides to come out publicly the day before the window shuts to tell the world he wants to stay with Spurs before putting on the shirt and running out at The Libraryates next Sunday (what a psychological boost that would be on top of having him back in the team!). But, I really can't see that now after what's been said by AVB. All the other huge press rumour and conjecture I've mainly ignored, even those respected pundits now all saying he's going/gone haven't had me 100% convinced. The clincher is our manager moving from the club-line 'he's not for sale, he's our player' to 'I don't know but we'd be fine without him'. That's been the main, reliable indicator that he's off.
Simmo

Agree0 Disagree0

Interesting viewpoint, not beyond the realms of possibility given that AVB has come out and said the club gave him time off and expect him back on Tuesday. Not to mention the rumors of interest from other clubs, possibly PSG and Monaco . at 24 years old would have ones head spinning.

Delighted with our start. 100% and two clean sheets. I have always posted on this site that a good team starts with a good defence ie. if you do not concede a goal, you can't lose. My only worry, our last 3 games ( ignoring our European game) resulted in three goals and all from the penalty spot. 4.5 hours of football without a goal from play. Soldado will score goals if he gets the right supply. We NEED a playmaker to set up the chances. Erickson would be perfect, fingers crossed.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Can't complain about the start but Dawson worries me! Can't fault his effort and willingness but is he good enough? Hope Chiriches deal goes through!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes he's good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

Watched our last three games, looking at logic, we have had six new players bedding in, yes two pens have won the six points, but I feel the team abv is building will be up their with the best, the fighting spirit shown by our new players, not relying one one player to win matches another few players, will I believe bethe best spurs team in many a year, pens win matches but you have to be in the box to get the pens, I am so impressed by what I've seen so far, 3 points next week and I really will be in dream land 33 to 1 is sounding tepmting

Agree0 Disagree0

Sounds like you guys are worried! 2 games 2 pens but that is against the smaller teams in the league, give in at least 10 games to see how you are?

Various reports online confirming the signing of Chiriches. Good signing, as the team needed a replacement for Caulker. Hopefully 1 or both of Eriksen & Lamela, and maybe Coentrao and then the club should be good to go for the new season!

As we are nearing a world record fee for the snake I still do not feel we are getting the right deal for the club. Even more so now that the days are ticking away and that we have lost the race to sign willian.
We should have insisted that one of the following players come the other way.
Ozil- di Maria - benzema and got real to top up there wages as they are so desperate to take bale.
Not trying to be negative but there is no guarantee we will sign the Roma star ( just look at willian).

Money in the bank will not get us forth.
Even so we look great and have improved the squad but bale single handedly won us games.

Hard as it is I still would of loved levy to stick to his guns and from day one and not sell bale
Did he not say bale is not for sale at any price?
That is his tactic to get more money for a player.
He did that with Berba and modders

If rumours are right that we are after hulk I don't expect anything from him as IMO I dnt rate him also 30 mil wtf

My question is now we lost willian if the Roma boy dnt sign with the bale deal be dead. I so hope so

Just worried its already done
Mr g

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mr G one minute you are referring to Gareth Bale as 'the snake' and next you hope his deal to Madrid is dead (meaning we keep him) make up your mind on the guy! The boy has done wonders for us and at the end of the day has helped to fund a total revamp of the squad and improved us no end.

Agree0 Disagree0

You so yourself bale won games single handlely last season, hence no one stepped up to the mark if he wasent playing. now bale wanted to go, the players we have brought in give us more options of play, and if one player is injured or lacks form we can replace him with players of equal quality. I dident want bale to leave, but from a team linked with players from watford no disrespect to players like hulk, think we have come on in leaps and bounds, bale or no bale we are thfc. bARB

Agree0 Disagree0

Can always find a negative from something if you look hard enough.
Bale wants to leave and we are going to earn 80+mill for him so cannot complain.
Agree with comments about Hulk though. Not worth 30mill and I don't think he's really as good as people say he is. Saying that I don't believe we will actually sign him it's just easy to link him with us because of his past with AVB.
Lets just hope we sell Bale and sign a replacement otherwise this great window will be a complete waste.

Agree0 Disagree0

Appreciate what Bale has done for us and wish him good luck with his move to real but what's with all the silence we know he wants a move and why isn't he at the lane is he not still a spurs player we all know he is gone so it would be nice to say thanks for the memories just seems a bit disrespectful like he wants nothing more to do with the club that has helped make him a star.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with the last poster! Why disrespect the supporters who have backed you and supported you throughout! Bale is one of the best around, but whether its his doing or his agents, his is looking like a spoilt child! Also, why disrespect your fellow players by not turning up to the match today? I suppose he is to good for them and the Spurs fans now is he?
As good as he has been for us, this whole saga leaves a nasty taste in the mouth . I for one would have wished him all the best and thanked him for what he has done for my club, but now! He is acting like a coward, keeping his gob shut, staying away and then when sold, putting his hand out for his percentage of the transfer fee!
Hope when he gets there, he realises that the grass isn't always greener, and then when Ronaldo throws a hissy fit, he gets used to warming the subs bench!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Bale is being really respectful by keeping his mouth shut. If a deal has been done then there must be a reason it has not been announced yet. Maybe it is because Levy wants to buy more players without the price being inflated by other clubs knowing we have £xxm. The alternative is that a deal has not been completed (yet).

Bale speaking out in either of these situations would hurt us. Either it would let on we have a lot of cash or it would let on that he wants to move and be used as a bargaining chip against Levy for RM to try and force a lower price.

Don't you get fed up when players make it public that they want to move on? Don't you get annoyed when players give interviews giving it this and that? How many times have you thought that players should just shut up?

He's absolutely doing the right thing. Nothing has been made public and he absolutely should not be the one that breaks any news.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on Wulf. Bale saying nothing is the best thing to do. He knows he likes the idea of RM and I am sure Spurs management know the situation. Just 'cos we are fans does not give us a devine right to know the full depth of what's really happening and I would rather a player was told to take gardening leave (ie to to Spain for a week) and leave the money men to talk. If a deal happens Bale lands us a fortune, if not, we have Bale. At that point he can come and and say what he likes as can Levy etc about what actually happened.
Love the fact that its all being made up by the press currently as no one but those behind the closed doors knows the truth.
