Use our rumours form to send us spurs transfer rumours.

Do you lot think 1 striker is what we need?
I dnt. I'd say we need someone who can defend
Rose, walker, bae, caulker, naughton.
Non of the above can defend
Mr g

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I definitely think we need a new left back. Neither of the current front runners are known for their defensive prowess and frankly I know nothing at all about Fryers. I really wish Benny actually LIKED football! It must be an absolute nightmare for a manager trying to improve his game when he's completely open about his indifference to the sport. He's been a good defender, but he's not going to get any better.

I think Walker's on the up though. Pace can go a long way to covering up his deficiencies and being fast isn't something you can teach. You can teach positional awareness and defensive maturity. I think he'll improve.

Regarding Bale. Ed, If he is so happy to stay then why won't he do the club a favor and say publicly that he wants to stay? {Ed001's Note - I would guess he has never been asked to do so, he is not the type to go making statements unless he has to, being fair to the lad.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The thought of 50m over 6 years at Madrid may have him thinking a little. don't care who the player is, it has to get your attention that kind of money.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gooner here.

to be fair to bale he's never gave any indication he wants to leave. if he does love the club and came out and said this publicly what then happens if RM bid 80m and levy says to bale that accepting it and reinvesting would make spurs stronger rather than just relying on him. he leaves for the good of spurs but would be an outcast. far fetched but just something to think about because I personally think he's handling this with a bit of class.
belly

Agree0 Disagree0

Because if a bid was accepted i'm sure he would leave, but for saying nothing he is upsetting no one. if he stays at spurs he will be happy for this year and the fans love him, if he moves to real its great for him and personally I don't think we begrudge him that

Agree0 Disagree0

Bale is in a no win position, say nothing every one speculates about an offer that has not even been made. Say something and the play field changes because RM actually make a big money offer and he looks like he went back on his word. Silence is his best policy.

Agree0 Disagree0

As a spurs fan and wanting bale to stay I feel head handled this impeccably as has avb.
Avb is now swerving the questions and every media outlet niw thinks there is a 'reason' for this. Mayb he gas just had enough if answering the same questions. Can you imagine the headlines if loudmouth Harry was still in charge? If bale makes any kind of statement, then had to change his mind, he will be vilified. As said before we are in a no win situation on this and just have to wait. It's looking like we obviously would accept a massive offer otherwise bale would if just been given a big new contract and levy could of drawn a line under this ages ago.
Some excellent comments about this above. Fair play gooner, proper sensible post above. Some very good points.
We said.

Is it me or do Spurs seem to be doing pretty much nothing with regard to a striker. Soldado looks dead in the water again as Levy won't spend yet down the road last years target Remy is getting ready to go to West Ham for hardly anything. Oh and on top of that I get a horrible feeling Bale will bale. It's hard being a Spurs fan!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lloris and Vertonghen were both dead in the water at some point too if I recall.

Chin up fellow Yid, we've had decades worth of practise at disapointment, let-downs and could've beens and it hasn't killed us yet!

Take heart in the fact that the last four years we've been performing better than we have in a long, long time, and (barring injuries ) this season is going to be even better.

I don't think Bale will bail this season. I can't say for certain that Levy won't force his hand if a world beating offer comes in, but he's not going to force a move. Not this season.

so fed up of getting excited about potential buys and getting let down, saldado is what this club is crying out for he has the know how and a great scoring record, so why are we messing around get the deal done please

City have said they will let Kolarov leave for £6m so surely this 27 year old is the perfect solution to our left back issue?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Definitely
Simmo

Agree0 Disagree0

When have they said he is available for 6 million?

Agree0 Disagree0

Galatasaray are after him and they said you can have him for £6m. Just type his name in a search engine and look at the news on him.

with marca being the mouthpiece of RM and if they are confidentally predicting that bale, s contract has been agreed surely spurs could have them for tapping up bale, so much for our agreed special partnership.

IF Kolarov Is available for 7 mill, and to be fair there's not many good left backs around, why ain't we going in for him?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wages. Probably up past 100k a week. And that's why they're shopping him around at just over 1/3rd of the price they paid. That milky blue city teat must be awful nice to suckle on. They're always going to have problems moving players on. 10 mil for tevez? I'd snap him up at that price if his salary wasn't the same as that every year*

Ed's when is Paulinho joining up with the main team? {Ed001's Note - I think, but not 100% sure because I am going from memory and mine is suspect, that he is to join up after the Asia Cup.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29th July is his due back date which is next Monday. {Ed001's Note - that will be easy for you all to remember, as you will obviously all be giving me my bday prezzies then.....}

Seen as Soldado is the scoucers back up plan for when Suarez goes, surely we should be trying to sort this out ASAP?.

Dear Mr. Levy, i'm very interested in buying 3 season tickets for the upcoming season but I don't agree with your valuation. I would however like to propose my offer of £30 for each ticket with £1. 99 being paid upfront for each ticket and the remainder being paid in instalments over 6 years. I would also like to purchase my tickets about 10 seconds before the official deadline. I trust this proposal is very fair and you would be willing to accommodate this offer as this is how you do business. Please let me know asap as I've got the kids really excited after telling them this will be very likely to happen. Many thanks, Pi**ed off Tottenham supporter!

What did everyone make of rose good enough for first choice next season

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not in a million years, he is ok but just not good enough we should be looking for better.

Rob

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi, I'm a Sunderland fan and watched Rose week in week out all last season. I even spoke to him at our home game against spurs in the corporate area.

We rate him very highly and would snap your hands off to have him. He was fast, dedicated and performed very well in both defence and supporting the counter attacks.

He told me that he would not be a 'Bench Warmer' and would not go back to Spurs if he was not a first team regular.

Therefore, if you don't rate him please tell you manager and chairman to reduce their ridiculously high transfer fee and let us buy him.

I know it was a friendly but once again no forward scored, are we in a mess up front or what? Also, game proved yet again that Gomes, Hudd and Dempsey just ain't good enough!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

That's probably why those 3 won't start first game of season davo. The club probably knows they ain't good enough.
It's only pre season. Relax. Moan like that on the first game of the season, not pre season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did you see the state of the pitch? No game should of been played in that.

Agree0 Disagree0

What did Gomes do wrong?

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't look too much into today's game.

1. pitch was a disgrace, game should never have been played.

2. Lineup was full of squad/fringe players (probably to put them in the shop window).

3. Starting 11 on the opening day of the season will look nothing like the team that started today's game.

Stay positive folks and we WILL add quality to the squad before the end of the transfer window whether it be Soldado, Damiao or other targets.

Personally I think Ibisevic of Stuttgart would be a good signing. Consistently scored for 2 average Bundesliga teams over the past few seasons and has the physique to handle the premiership. Anyway only my opinion and would certainly be cheaper than what he have been linked.

Craig_H. COYS

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair the pitch was the same for both teams!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey man, calm down.
Think you will find Manchester United lost to 2 weaker Japanese teams.
Man city have been losing.
The chavs haven't been uprooting any trees.
Le keep winning by the odd goal in 7, so I suppose they are champions already eh.
It's pre season. I wish people would slag us about losing when playing league games and I wish people would slag us about transfers when the window has actually closed. Jeez. Ffs.

24 Jul 2013 13:27:21
People are saying that Soldado is too expensive. He has been the top scorer in Spain over the last 3 seasons along with negredo. Granted in 5 years time if he left we wouldn't get what we bought him for, but if we got into the champions league for 3 of those 5 years then it would pay for itself. Speculate to accumulate and by accumulate I mean champions league

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What happened to Messi and Ronaldo if he was the top scorer in Spain?

Agree0 Disagree0

He was the top Spanish scorer in Spain.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who cares if he's the top spanish scorer in a woeful spanish league.! Ricky lambert was the top english scorer in the prem las season shall we get him.! Ure argument makes no sense. The fact that they want 30 million euros for a player that is 29 lyk november time and the fact valencia as a club coukdnt even afford there own toilet to piss in is a joke. Let them keep him let them run there club into bankruptcey. Personally even thou I do think he is a good player we should look elsewhere. 30 million euros could be invested a lot more wisely than that.!

SELL

Rose
Townsend
Adi
Parker
Carroll
Gomes
These players are not good enough to get us top 4. Simple as
Mr g

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'd keep Rose, Townsend & Carroll, all as back ups, Townsend can really put a shift in which he proved at QPR and Carroll has the potential to be a starter in the midfield
R91

Agree0 Disagree0

No his was correct sell them all

Agree0 Disagree0

Id sell dempsy too

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with R91. What's the point in loaning out our youngsters if we won't give them a chance if they perform well? Homegrown talent becomes the heart of any squad and as fans we should be encouraging this. Carroll needs to be loaned out to a Epl team this year so he can show the undoubted quality he has.

Agree0 Disagree0

Y sell carroll he has lots of potential and as for townsend and rose give them a chance at least otherwise we could regret letting them go

Agree0 Disagree0

Huddlestone, Gomes, Adebayor and Parker have already got us into the top 4 as 1st choice players in their positions.

We will not meet the buyout clause for Soldado to just stick him on the bench. Daft post.

Agree0 Disagree0

So spend a record transfer of 26 million for soldado and then leave him on the bench? Wow no wonder us spurs fans get a ba name sometimes

Agree0 Disagree0

Just aswell your not the manager. To pay £26 million & then stick Soldado in the dug-out. You clearly have NO clue about football.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why post this ED!
SOLDADO ON THE BENCH LOL {Ed008's Note - Because it's his own opinion which he's entitled to.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldnt have Cissokko he's rubbish imo also think we could do with a bit more creativity in midfield, maybe herrera or banega someone of that ilk

So reported AVB was given £50 million to spend. £17m for Paulinho, £7m for Chadli leaves £26m Saldado's buy out clause, so what the heck is going on Levy?

Kalrez

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Think he will spend a bit more than that as according to the Eds, we should expect to see another forward and possibly a Defender too. I imagine any extra purchases after Soldado will be dependent on shifting 'unwanted and fringe' players ie. Gomes, BAE, Huddlestone, Parker, Adebayor, Naughton, possibly Livermore, Townsend too. Maybe Dawson.

Bale, Higuain, Coentrao & Suarez Merry Go Round, the biggest transfer shuffle of all time is about to happen. Real Madrid have proposed their terms to Levy, and have agreed to close another target first to give Spurs time to find suitable replacements. Higuain will start the process with his ?37m move to Napoli. This will trigger the sale of Suarez to Real Madrid for ?40m.

In the meantime Spurs will finalise a deal of ?26m for Soldado. Stage two of discussions will see Coentrao The LB we need to progress, join Spurs in a deal that will include the player + ?70m for Bale.

We all feared this day and it is coming up very soon. Please don't shoot the messenger, but this information comes from the highest order, and no it is not from his Holiness The Pope.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

So real are going to spend at least 110 million to get suarez and bale after all ready spending 65 million so far? that's some spending even for real

hey ed

idea here I would appreciate your and everyone's opinion on this. my favorite post in recent memory was the review of the swindon game. In line with the minimalist theme of this site maybe we could benefit from a match rating page. if its infeasible for whatever we understand. you guys are busy enough resounding to our questions

Firstly, same submission system which would allow for the same arguments and discussions we all love

secondly, it would allow us to track our and our opponents players for transfer window discussions

Lastly, the sept-nov and feb-june season lull on this site would disappear

Thanks in advance

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Think that's a really good idea if you eds could manage {Ed001's Note - we do have a site set up for doing player ratings, it is just that we haven't finished developing an automated way to gather up the team listings for each game, so people can rate the player's performances. Maybe we could start with just rating the team performances first? Finding the fixtures to automatically generate the chance to post up ratings and a review of a performance would be much easier.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed wow you guys went a step beyond what I was thinking.

The automated system would be awesome.

You're suggestion where users just submit team performances was where my head was at initially. The community would come up with more or less democratic ratings by subsequent ratings posts to the first user's ratings per game on each clubs page in a discussion similar to the banter page. possibly with a accurate/inaccurate ranking of posts like "believable/unbelievable"

We might just expect users to post team names and scores at the top of each ratings post as the teamsheet knowledge would be required before giving any reviews. This shows that they watched the game or at least took the time to review ratings on other sites. it would only require the creation of a page that users know is for match ratings. Where some users might even do the rest of us a favor and review our youth matches or even matches where our youngsters are on loan like luongo, pritchard, and hall at swindon.

I really hope this comes about Ed, every other site I go to with spurs ratings is littered with youtube style comments. This is one of the few sites where the admins actually care and that's why I would prefer if I did not have to go anywhere else for my Spurs rumours. Green-eyed monsters everywhere, not just in the merchant of venice anymore lol

Thanks ED {Ed001's Note - actually you have some good points there, rather than just a rating system, it would make sense for it to be reviews and ratings, only allowing ratings that come with a review. I don't like the way youtube, twitter and the like allow posts to just be a free for all. I wish people could be trusted to just post what they wanted, but it just ends up in abuse and nastiness. Hence why we approve posts first, even if it does mean a hell of a lot more work for us, it makes for a, generally, more friendly atmosphere. The reason why we do things on separate sites, rather than just adding more pages, is purely to make it easier for the servers, otherwise I would think it would be better to have the ratings as a page on each site. Mind, I suppose it is good to hear the thoughts of the fans of your opposition too, which is easier if the site is separate. I do really like the idea of reviews for youth matches, people are always asking for thoughts about youth players as they don't often get to see them. Be good for them to get more opinions on the latest starlet!}

Many thanks Ed

RY {Ed001's Note - thanks for the input, I am looking forward to seeing how it works out now.}

Nice one levy! Pretty soon no club in Europe will deal with us.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why is everyone getting so up tight about Levy, the man has brought us back into the top 5 teams of the country and we are still progressing with the recent new signings, new training facility and a new stadium planned. I too would like 2 quality strikers, that we obviously need, but we need to be realistic and progress within our budgets. Just remember where we have progressed from. COYS.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said above poster. Too many whingers on this page. The long term stability of the club is more important than any player. Do any of us remember where we were when Levy and co came in? No it's all been forgotten about as you demand cash be spent at a whim without thinking of any reprocussions (spelling). Fans say we should be matching arsenals spending but the have billionaires throwing money at wenger so the fact we are challenging them for 4th is steady progress. We should be happy we have a great team that plays great football every year to follow. Get behind the team, chairman and quit the moaning because we are all fed up listening to it!

I'm a newcastle fan, and I think Levy is a similar businessmen to Mike Ashley, although he does do some stupid things but he has got us in a great financial position and we should appreciate that. I just wish I could convince some of my fellow geordies like that lol.
