Use our rumours form to send us spurs transfer rumours.

I will probably sound bitter with my following statement, but really I don't care. Paulinho, I've had my say, I think he's a good enough player, but not worth 17million. Then I thought, how can any footballer be worth that? There are a few exceptions, players that earn clubs millions in shirt sales alone, like Ronaldo, beckham. But other than that, how? Our club could be paying out 17 million for a player that 10 years ago probably would have cost 5. And we're paying I think the second highest season ticket in England unless I'm mistaken. I just don't like it. I don't think we should be charged this much money to watch a game of football. It upsets me. A lot.

Trouble is, the oil rich clubs have rocketed prices up. If you sign an international player nowadays with over 2 years left on his contract, you are looking at starting at £15million approx and that's for just a decent player.
After reading your post again, I don't think levy can win. He would get slaughtered for not buying or getting an unheard of name and now he is getting moaned at for breaking our transfer record on a brazil international. I'd say, if paulinho signs, then Parker, Livermore and Hudds will all be off.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you don't like the price don't pay the money. If you don't like the price of something in a shop you don't moan that if they spent less money on advertisement then they could drop the price of the item in question, you just don't buy the item.

Agree0 Disagree0

You know what josh, I'm one of the 42,000 waiting for a season ticket.
If you don't like it, send it back. Plenty of us would desperately take that ticket off your hands instead of getting the occasional league game and cup games.

Agree0 Disagree0

£15-20mill seems to be average for a decent international player ATM. We paid £16mill for Bentley for gods sake. You name Ronald's but he is ( allegedly) worth £80 mill so is bale that's over 4 times the paulinho money! Are they 4 times the player? Don't forget andy Carroll was 30 odd mill and Torres £50 mill. I think Paulinho is a very good player and £17 mill seems a good price. If he helps get us to the champs league then it's a good investment and money well spent. On a personal level I think he's using us to get in the shop window and my gut says he will go to Italy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Give it back because its too expensive? You really are an person. Firstly, there aren't 42k on the waiting list really. That includes people that are on the list and have been offered a ticket but turned it down for whatever reason, which is much more than you'd think. And secondly, your point is crap. To many people, like me, my club is part of my life. Like the petrol in my car, or the food in my tummy. You go to Germany, you can get a season ticket for £150, with all the clubs, even the big ones in major cities. These clubs have as much success as we do, a lot of them much more. And they're run equally as well, if not better. Basically, you just sitting there and acting like it isn't a problem shows how much of an person you are. It is a problem, and we should do sonething about it. Basically what the clubs around London are doing is doing everything they can to take as much money as possible from our pockets and in to those of the footballers. 18 year olds on 25k a week, who aren't proven and chances are will never make it. Adebayor on 90k a week. Football is becoming stupid in this sense, and if it wasnt for persons at places like city, Chelsea, psg, it wouldn't be that difficult to revert. It might take a few years. But it's not right. They're doing this job because of us. If it wasnt for fans there would be no big broadcast deals, no fans in the stadiums, no sponsors. No football. But they all insist on punishing us with enormous prices. And some of you fools have swallowed that they have to do it. They don't. No way.

Josh,
It's a simple case of supply and demand. There's big demand so can charge more same as petrol. Like stated before if you don't like the price don't pay the money. It's not mandatory like you make out its a luxury. Makes me laugh people like you think the club should spend big money because you say so. Nobody tells you how to spend your money, you choose how much you spend.

Agree0 Disagree0

Supply and demand? There's more demand in Germany. They have higher average attendance, and in terms of percentage of max attendance they average higher than us. Yet they charge in some cases 1/10 of what we pay. Supply and demand? You're all so dense. You'll see, this current situation isn't sustainable. It won't be long before the whole lot implodes.

Like listening to my misses

Agree0 Disagree0

Josh,
Resorting to name calling is a sign of a fool so there's no longer a reason to discuss this as your simply not willing to listen to as I can see some very reasonable responses.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh my god playground talk! It is a banter site where everyone is entitled to their opinions isn't it Ed?and if saying some is a fool and dense is now classed as name calling, then please run home to your mum.

Agree0 Disagree0

Josh you are making yourself look rather silly.

Agree0 Disagree0

Davo, I was actually referring to the times the word "person" was used as anybody using this sight knows that's changed by ed from an insult to "person". Yes having a opinion is fine but resorting to name calling when people disagree with you is pathetic!

Agree0 Disagree0

Where it says person, it was changed from person. Very offensive, obviously!

Josh

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah of course it was Josh, I believe you many wouldn't.

For me Bernard would be a better signing than Paulinho, what do you all think?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Different positions but if I had to choose one it would be Bernard all day long. Bernard is exactly what we need. He ia amazing.

Eds is it likely that spurws will bring in villa and possibly tello or is the florentina rumours more likely for villa? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Judging on Paulinho's comments, he doesn't see us as a good move, I think he wants CL football and is trying to drum up more offers again. I like him as a player but I don't think he wants to wear that shirt and that's enough for me to not want him here. Rather see Carroll given more game time.
Well that's the pattern of the summer. Targets identified, we wait for others to sign players, we make bids on targets, players don't want to come and wait for other offers, players get better offers and take them, we get second-rate signings which don't enhance the team.
Paulinho will be the first to this, he'll go to Real Madrid or someone like that, Bernard is second and off to Porto, Soldado and Negredo will be the same, this will continue and we will end up with McCarthy, Villa and Osvaldo at inflated prices while we wave goodbye to Bale.
A pessimistic outlook but knowing our way of dealing, a very likely one if we do the same as last year.

You seem to forget that sandro had an offer from us and chose to except it after a length of time.
You seem to forget Verts had an offer from us and chose to except it after a length of time.
As did modric, as did lloris, as did dembele.
These transfers where all media covered a long time before the player signed.
Your post was one of the most negative I have read on here. He stated before the confed cup, as did hulk, as did Bernard, as did David villa, that no decision will be made until after the tournament has finished because they don't want a transfer distracting from the national team tournament.
The deal is agreed, we have met his buy out clause. In future, wait until he is holding up someone else's shirt, before posting negative drivel likeyouhave posted. You ever know, we may have stole a march on everyone else by agreeing a deal before them. When he was interviewed the first time, after all the press stories came out, I expected him to say exactly what he said for it motto turn into a circus.
Again, just wait until next week before slagging my club off please.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't see him signing Chelsea will end up bidding for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

God ate, get a life. How negative are you?
We have net his buy out clause. If one of the anti football oil barons step in and offer stupid wages, then that is nothing we can do about that.
If he is happy to warm a bench for money, then he ain't welcome in a spurs shirt as far as I am concerned.
My personal view is that the deal is done. Even scolari said the spurs deal is all but done, then yesterday, twisted ankle? Suprise, Suprise.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Chelsea sign him then they are welcome to him.
He would warm the bench for money.
At spurs there is sandro, a portugese speaking manager (like the chavs I know) and first team football baring in mind a World Cup at his home country next year. He also triples his current wage of £23,000.
I would be my house he is already a y*d.

Agree0 Disagree0

Some of these players will realize going to Chavski will result in sitting on the bench. With a World Cup coming up is that what they want? I'm sure someone will point this out to them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oxford spur you seem to be obsessed with Osvaldo, your negative posts do my bleeding head in.
