off to the bookies to lump on spurs being in the top 4 this season I said a few weeks ago we will suprise a lot of people we have got a manager who knows how to mix it up the squad also looks very close together no egos etc like previous seasons they all want to play for this manager

Wait till Ade starts sulking, it's only a matter of time before something upsets him.

Can anyone confirm whether Depay has indeed signed a contract extension? Or is this just media hype to drive his price up?

From what I hear he has signed a new contract!

Two of the players I would have happily got rid of at the end of last season seem to show a lot of prospect over the past few weeks

Thought i'd never say this but:

Harry Kane is showing signs of being the number 9 we need - At at present looks twice the player of Soldado and gives 100% more effort than Adebeyor

Andros Townsend looks like he is back - Still shoots a little too often but i'm sure Mopo can mould him into the player we need on the wing - him lamela and erikson are our 3 behind the striker and I hope we give Kane a run and see once and for all if he can do it

I think it is almost a done deal that we are getting the Seville defender Fazio but never really watched him but hopefully that will be our back line sorted - which throws in another question . Dier or Fazio? Or even Vertonghen (you would say vert has to play but his attitude seems all wrong), . Rose or Davies. both good going forward both not so great defensively.

I am hoping for 2 more signings but I think they will depend on outgoings:

In:

Fazio - £10m
Sneiderlin -£15-£20
Remy - £12m

Out:
Dawson - Hull - £6m
Chriches - Roma - £6 - £8m?
Sandro - Napoli? - £8m - £10m?

Guessing at a few of the values but think they are realistic to what we will offer / recieve only a net spend of £17m

Good post, spot on. Like I said the other day Kane is much better than he has shown thus far and for what some people say on here about him.

Do you guys think levy puts to much of a high price on the players surplus to requirements. It seems to stall our whole buying/selling process down

Always has and will do! His priority is profit not the team!

Davo, what would you like Levy to do? We have quite a small stadium for such a big club therefore Levy gets the best deal for us. Levy is a quality chairman. He has to comply with ffpr's.

Your constant mocking and whining of him and Kane is tedious. Support the team.

Spurski, what's better, putting a fair price on our rejects and getting them off the wage bill, or over pricing them and keeping them even though they are not good emough! Balance the books yes, but not to the extent of not clearing out the clutter!

Davo do you suffer with tunnel vision? Can you not see the bigger picture in anything that happens in life or is it just with football? Reason I ask is because even you should be able to see that Levy is trying to get the best he can for the players now and if he can't shift them will lower his asking price closer to deadline day. It's simple business (and you claim to be a businessman) and is what every team does. It's like a game of chess doing what you need to do until either you win or they do. Your like a more boring version of Oracle atleast that guy had a sense of humour and was clearly a wind up. Start trying to see the bigger picture mate because you are starting to look the fool on here and you used to have so much to offer to this site.

It could be an accounting issue I'm not smart enough to know . But taking a write down by selling an asset (player) for let's say 10m less than one paid for it will hit the bottom line harder than the salary drain for the life of the contract which can be offset by . Increased ticket costs.

Don't know if players transfer costs are considered asset value though. Just a possibility for Levy's rational.

1985, please . No disrespect but for at least the last 3 to 5 seasons, excluding last year, we heard the classic Daniel excuse, we tried hard but this happened or that didn't . Then credit where credit is due, he used the Bale money to buy some bloody good players for us but, please don't believe that Levy starts with a price then lowers it towards the end of the window . If this happened then we would have cleared a lot of players in the previous seasons . Most of the top clubs clear their decks at the start of the window, enabling them to know who they can go for . That's good business sense!
Most chairman know from the end of the previous season who is going, not at the end of the transfer window!

Part of the problem is Davo half the time at the end of a season we don't know who our manager will be for the next season.

Which also makes me wonder how much the players buy into any managers philosophy/tactics knowing that based on Levy's track record the chances are they will be at the club longer than the manger.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well I think he has chosen well in Mopo and I hope he gives him the players and the chance he needs . Now is Daniels time to stand up and be counted . We have the basis for a good team, a good young manager, come on Daniel back him up!

When did Levy say that? i'm pretty sure Levy has only done one interview with the press in at least 5 years and he never said that.

Agree0 Disagree0

As if he was reading this board, Sandro's price reportedly dropped from 15m to under 10m. Looks like The Beast burnt a few too many bridges.
