Well as our potential targets are drying up who would be everyones ideal strikers to join Spurs?

I would personally like it if we could some how get Torres and Dzeko. I don't honestly have a clue what wages they are on and what it would cost to get them.

What I do know though is that both players are the kind of marquee signings that could really help us move to the next level and IMO I don't think that they are out of reach.

What are your opinions?

Ed's do you know what the players might cost or what kind of wages they are on?

Rumour dzeko wages are 170k a week chelsea will not do biz with levy after the modric saga ie we will sell him but not to you

Just my opinion. I think we will sign remy and one of soldado/osvaldo/Lopez.
I think levy will go in too low on soldado and it won't happen. My gut feeling would be lassandro Lopez and remy if I had to choose.

Never thought I'd say this. But if torres is at all possible. I'd snap your hand off! AVB struggled at Chelsea and has been a sensation at the lane.
Torres has had a nightmare at Chelsea. But maybe that's just the Chelsea effect.
With all the media touted targets moving in other directions, I don't think its a bad shout. Beats ade by a country mile.

Wow, £170K a week. Well in that case it will have to be a deal with major add-ons lol.

Looking at all the potential targets that are still out there, We can offer them one thing for sure that most teams can't. Even the mega rich clubs, Citeh and the Chavs; namely 1st team football guaranteed. With Ade and Defoe failing to impress for a whole season we might actually stand a chance.

So here we have it, we are challenging constantly for CL football and can offer 1st team football. Now all we need is an ambitious player willing to take a chance and not only try and make a name for themselves in the best league in the world but push for that WC place. They just need to stop being the 2nd 3rd or 4th striker at their current clubs and become the No1 Choice for a quality side in Spurs :)

So Torres, Dzeko and Higuain sign the dotted line. PLEASSSEEEEEE lol

It might seem that we are failing once again in the transfer window, but are things really that bad. I think the problem at Spurs is having the confidence to give young rising stars their chance. Walker would probably have never got his chance without Villa giving him his chance.

LB - I have heard loads of times about how desperately we need a new LB, but here we are with BAE, Rose & Zeki Fryers. I rate Fryers the best of the three, but surely Rose has earned his chance to be given a first team run.

CF - I am embarrassed to admit it but I actually can't stand Adebayor, something a true fan should never say about a player. For me he has bags of potential but a terrible application and lackadaisical attitude. Having said that, he did have the best preparation last season, and on his day he is a right handful. We also have Dempsey, Defoe and then rising stars like Obika, Coulibally, Coulthirst, Kane and others. The truth is we actually have too many strikers in the frame, but seemingly none good enough for the next level. I hope that the Benteke rumours about him staying at Villa are true, as he is definitely not good enough for the next level. Soldado is interesting and would certainly add some value, but we need world class to replace what we have.

We should stop for a moment and remind ourselves that Levy has kept an £80m player at the lane, we have a superb squad which was torn to pieces by the injuries to Kaboul & Sandro, and we have missed a true box to box engine at world class level like Paulinho. This season we will have energy and depth with players like BAE being challenged by Rose and Fryers, and Lennon kept busy by Townsend. With the right pre season training, I can see Dempsey, Defoe and Adebayor looking like the players we know they are capable of being, so be a little more optimistic, things are looking fine at White Hart Lane.

What a load of tosh! We do need a LB the three you have mentioned are all crap.
With the exception of Defoe ( to play 2nd or 3rd fiddle ) I would not be sad to see any of the strikers leave.
Was at the col u game last night all be it a friendly lacking match fitness & lots of youngsters playing we were very poor, none of the youngsters looked capable of stepping up to the nxt level.

Totally agree with you Rob! Was at the match and I wouldn't even keep Defoe! As for Kane and Obika, say no more! Obika isn't young anyway, 23?, and Kane wasn't good enough for Norwich. If these are our back up strikers then we are in trouble!

I do think Benteke is good, but what happened if he signed and he played poor all season and cost us champions league or even if he played superb and we failed. He would be kicking up a fuss wanting to leave

It will literally be taking the p*ss if our next signing isn't a striker, there should be no other area prioritised over it. I will be fuming if we don't get a striker, now that Benteke has signed another contract, we need to look elsewhere, and I pray that levy has something good up his sleeve.
