Sunday proved where we are light years away from the top 4 men v boys totally outplayed. So another hugely disapointing window no major target signed got rid of some mediocrity but sandro going and townsend lennon staying baffling. Typlcal piece of business by levy last week welbeck available wanted to come an giroud not injured left it as useual and lose him at last minute levy just proved business man not a football or spurs bone in his body 6th or 7th at best this year

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Totally agree although light years and 6th or 7th seems kind. Trying to get Welbeck was the cheap option as usual. How petty of Levy not to let Saints buy Townsend. We won't get offered that sought of money for him again which means we will be stuck with him for years. I've said it before, when it goes wrong this season there will be only one person to blame and all roads will lead to Levy.

townsend has some ability but he's a one trick pony, and thick to boot. modern football requires intelligent players who can follow instruction and show ambition to improve. we'll never get serious money for him now.

Disappointed that we didn't get anyone, but we have sorted out left back. We have stronger centre backs, we have cover for right back, Lamela is like a new signing, rose playing well, Kane finding the net, chadli doing well too. Soldado still got to get game time, stronger keeper cover, stambouli looks a decent signing. Gutted about the beast, but injuries have hampered him. Not sure why holtby went as I thought he would be a great squad player. So we have lloris, dier, fazio, vertonghen, Davies, stambouli, Capoue, Lamela, Eriksen, chadli, kane/ soldado. That's a good starting 11. I still have faith. COYS

Totally agree Dom, our main issue/frustration was our shape and defence last year. We got a coach with a vision, we strengthened across our back line and didn't spend ridiculous amounts to do it. Look at dier and faz, and compare them in value to the likes of shaw, Lovren, luis, chambers and alike. I can see another attacking option in Jan but a good team starts at the back and we could do with some stability.

Agree3 Disagree0

Dom and gspur, on a page of negativity it's great to see your positive optimistic posts.
reading most of the ranting rubbish on here you would swear an apocalypse was coming.
to all you negative levy hating posters - if poch has faith in his squad, then why can't you?
coys

Agree0 Disagree0

That's because Ponch doesn't have any options . I don't see Morgan, jay R, etc in the squad, players that Ponch wanted as well . Once again we made a profit, exactly how levy and Lewis like it . Face facts, money is more important than PL position . Our chairman is the only one who never sees that you have to spend each year to keep progressing, not huge amounts but regular spending . One bad injury to a forward and we are up rubbish creek!

Davo - we brought in 6 new players and removed some passed their best. We've strengthened the squad.
Most teams only have 3 forwards these days. We may yet see the best of soldado, ade is playing well and poch must see something good in Kane who is playing well and scoring. I really don't understand all the negativity. Jay Rod might come in January when he's over his current injury. What's the point in buying him now? As for schiederlin, soton didn't want to sell him so your point about missing targets and levy failing us isn't valid. I feel the squad has progressed in this transfer window and is much more balanced.

I'll be the first to say it, gutted sandro's gone! He isn't called the beast for nothing! always gave everything yes he had injuries but on his day one of the best defensive midfielders out there in my opinion, you've got to say fair play to arry though he's got yet another deadline day bargain!

I have always been a levy backer but I most say i'm really disappointed in this transfer window. If its because we need the money for the stadium that's fine but they should make that public knowledge. We just seem to be going backwards every year.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

In my view, every team that finished around or above us last season, have strengthened. I don't think we have. Maybe just in the keeper dept. Who is going to be the fall guy if we finish 6/7th? It will be the manager again. We seem to be in a viscous circle.

Well 2.45 to go in the transfer dead line and we r letting sandro going holtby on loan and a mother holding mid comes in I would have kept sandro think he will be missed big time arry must be loving it get any player from spurs just shows what our players think of levy
Yet another year of ups and downs had a good start to the season and then got out played in every area of the pitch agains Liverpool yet nothing to smile about Oh well I should be used to this by now lol f u levy but as always coys

come on spurs get some top players in all the big clubs are doing good deals in welbeck and huntalaar have gone to arsenal we are slow to act again we will have another rubbish season

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I may be quoting before the 11pm deadline but I make that that Levy has made millions in profit again in another transfer window. Bony has a buyout. Huntellar has a buyout. There are gettable strikers out there. If ade goes to African nations, then we have bobby and Kane only. Mm at least 6th is up for grabs again. How often do we need to have this discussion about Levy.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Sep 2014 20:49:22
We can't compete on wages or CL football, so I don't know how you can expect this.? Also, where are you getting Huntelaar from? That's just nonsense.

Agree0 Disagree0

Huntelaar has a £12m buyout clause. Rumours that the goons are trying to get him. We can't compete with CL I agree but we also shouldn't be left short. Last season obika and coulibilay played in the league cup. They have niw gone too. My view, it's only my opinion, is that we are short up front. If we have to rely on Harry Kane, then to me that spells trouble. Levy has plenty in the coffers. Again, in my view, another striker should of been bought.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Sep 2014 21:19:51
Totally agree that we need someone else there. But where did you hear about the goons trying to get huntelaar? And that his buyout clause was just £12m because if that was true, I'd have thought there'd be a lot of teams in for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just g.oogle it. It was all over the net earlier.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't of thought 20 mil for Bony would be beyond the realms of possibilities

The huntelaar thing us just a twitter rumour (at the mo)
twitter says the goons activated his £12m release clause. Only a rumour. Makes more sense than welbeck though.

No welbeck but apparently we might get Frazer Campbell .

Believable0 Unbelievable1

I put below I have a theory.
He is at arsenal training with England.
They have the facilities to perform a medical. Who is to say the medical is for arsenal? Any club could just send a staff member/doctor to oversea while he is on England duty. It prob is for the goons but is worth considering :-)

How serious was interest in wellbeck?
Enquiry? Official bid?

Thanks

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Off to the goons down the road mate. Not sure if it is a missed opportunity or a bullet dodged.

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually, the line is that welbeck is having a medical at london colney(arsenal)
It's where England are training. They have the facilities there to perform a medical but for which club? He is there on England duties :-)
Would make sense to perform a late medical there. He can stay with England, perform a medical and sign for a new club. Without leaving his location. Just a theory :--)

Agree0 Disagree0

England team are training at the Gooners. So might still happen.

Was hoping for transfers heard rumours, was hoping yesterday for a win and a new dawn, but same old, let down same inadequacy's think today will be the same . Mopo will have been promised signings they won't turn up, he will be angry feel let down and betrayed, will have to work with what he's got, players can't be arsed because they know they have the power and were not part of the master plan, knowing he's dead man walking string of bad results, levy wields axe, we start again sound familiar .

Reading the news on numerous websites it looks likely that the following are leaving:

Holtby - loan to hamburg
Sandro - QPR (sad to see the beast go)
Lennon - Possibly following sandro
Townsend - Possibly to Southampton (Cant see this happening)

Looks like we will sign:

Stambouli
Wellbeck - Possibly (arsenal are showing late interest)
Sadio Mane - has been mentioned
Nastasic - Also mentioned

I am in no way in the know just summarise what a lot of sites and betting sites are indicating

Coubially the next big thing has been sold! I would be shocked if we didn't see at least 2 more players along with Stambouli come in

Believable0 Unbelievable0

My thinking us it will be Stanbouli only and we gave to make do.
We wish every window that Levy pulls a master stroke ie a Bony or J Rod, but it never happens.
I think our squad is finalised.

Agree0 Disagree0

One in out of four ain't bad Northern, although why we are thinking of loaning Sandro and buying yet another midfielder, I don't know .

Deadline day so far:
Ins:
Stambouli-Montpellier-4.2million (pending medical)
Sadio Mane-Salzburg-Apparent bid made
Welbeck-United-9/4 favourites
Outs:
Obika-Swindon-Undisclosed fee
Gomelt-Bari-Season Loan
Coulibaly-Bari-Undisclosed fee
Fryers-Palace-3 million (pending medical)
Townsend-QPR/Southampton- Bids Made
Soldado-Monaco-Interest
Sandro-QPR-Bid made
Holtby-Hamburg-Season loan (pending medical)
Lennon-Stoke-Interest

All regurgitated news, looks like more outs than ins. No big names unless Levy pulls one out of nowhere.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lol welsh. great minds and all that

Agree1 Disagree0

A, brilliant timing

Seen rumblings of Swansea coming in for Naughton also . That would leave us pretty thin at RB with Walker seemingly struggling to get fit.

Does anyone know anything about Stambouli? By the sounds of it its a done deal. I don't quite understand why, if he is so highly rated we've managed to get him for £4.7m?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Newcastle managed to get Cabaye for around 4.5m. Am assuming Pochettino must see qualities in the player that will work his footballing philosophy.

However, I do think it is a real shame that it doesn't look like the club will be getting Schneiderlin in this window. He would have been a useful player to have yesterday. Him and Dembele in the middle from the start could have made a huge difference.
Perhaps a move in January if a couple of other players are moved on, though.

Agree1 Disagree0

Dembele - Goes missing to much, I can't recall him ever having an outstanding game for us. He's a very average player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im not saying there aren't bargains to be had, i'd just never heard of this guy. He has obviously been brought in to replace Sandro who looks certain to go to QPR. Which is such a shame but if he can't stay fit he is no good to us.

As for Dembele he should be one of the best in the league as he has everything, but like you said DR when has he had an outstanding game for us? Maybe Poch can get the best out of him?

Agree0 Disagree0

d00gie, I believe he was in the last year of his contract. If so then that would make sense of the price and why he was so appealing to levy lol.

Will be interesting to know how many more predictions the Oracle gets wrong again today.

In fact has he ever got any right?

The Oracle in the know.

I have been following this site for a few years now. Edds seems to be in the know, but the ORACLE is comical especial regarding Damiao h.
I've been a spurs fan for years and think like all other spurs fans we need a striker. Come on spurs where are the glory days??
