Coming from a Reading FC fan - I think Tottenham have done well to keep onto your star players and as much as it's always exciting to refresh the squad with top players who would you buy to replace modric or bale? Tottenham will have a good season with Adebayor in the mix with parker holding the fort in front of the back 4. gd luck

only time will tell but i for one (40 year guy) am fed up.so you don't want me as a supporter well thats fine but how much money did you spend at the club shop.i have watched my team get ripped to pieces by two teams so far.levy has took all the money fromthe cl and now these transfers and were is it going.how happy will everyone be if we finish say 10th.out goes bale, vdv, modric and a few others and at a time when we were so close we will be further back than ever.you lot are not seeing the picture here.yes we have got rid of most of the deadwood which is great however we really needed a couple of players and we are now a couple of injuries away from being in real trouble and face the real prospect of spending a lot of the season in the bottom half of the table because all i see are players who don't seem happy or want away.i don't want kaka i want players who want to play for the club at least for a year or two.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Totally agree with you! I feel the same. I think we are in massive danger of getting swallowed up by clubs below us. Stoke have spent big, Villa are spending money and now, its not a case of us getting into the top 6 its "IF" we get into the top 6. Its absolutely crazy, two decent signings would have helped hugely but it seems that cutting the wage bill was the most important thing of all. I accept that as a good business plan BUT, if the team doesnt cut it, you lose support, you lose support, you lose revenue. Not rocket science, is it? At this rate, we will, eventually have a 60,000 seater stadium that wont even get half full on match days because the rest of us have lost heart and interest.
Sad.

Lets wrap the transfer window up in a nutshell, PATHETIC. We are bottom of the league already cos of our strikers, we didnt get top4 cos of our strikers and all we get is adebayor! Yes he can be good but what happens if he gets injured or goes to african nations? I would also say that vdv is hindering our team, he is slow and a slug is more dynamic. If vdv was an ice cream he would be licking himself all day and that says it all.
What a difference and a lift a marquee signing would of made, modric must be well impressed and if he has been told to wait a year and see then whats the point of that if we didnt sign anyone to take us up a level, we will never get offered 40mil again.
Get rid of pav in january and buy damiao and one other but imo its all too late.
F YOU LEVY AND REDKNAPP, we are bottom of the league you dumb idiots.

I think that however hard it is spurs fans must remain positive:
-although the club hasnt taken huge steps forward, we have added much needed firepower to a squad that barely missed out on top 4 last season due to champs league fatigue/distraction
-arsenal (benayoun and arteta for nasri and fabregas) and chelsea (ageing squad seriously lacking attacking thrust) have gone backwards
-liverpool are no where near as good as people make out, henderson and adam arent top 4 players and arent on the same level as modric and sandro
-we've lost two games against the two best teams in the league, two of the top 5 teams in europe, whilst playing depleted teams
-finally, its far more productive to have young hungry players on the bench (livermore, townsend, dos santos? carrol, kane, coulibaly) than morale sapping midtable players, just look at the effect that policy had at liverpool with flanagan kelly spearing and robinson.
so to conclude COYS!

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Its nice to cajole ur mind mate that stay positive n all its good for u..WHAT HELL U CAN DO ANY WAY?

OK COME TO THE POINT==

liverpool no way near as good as people make out?
ohh ya ....same old fantasy league fan
on what basis u say that?

adam n handerson ? arent top 4 players?

well liverpool signed players ..on what the club needs n statistical analysis ....if u just take some time out of ur spuds fantacy league(robben,rossi,kaka....haha)

adam, hendo, downing r all consistant premier league players ...in every top 5 of last yers analysis..in stamina, passing, crossing,% matches played n all....n u can see they already on score sheet
liverpool played arsenal at emerites . sunderland n boltan...all three r tough teams (even we have our problems ,SG injured, all new midfield still we r up n running) ...we wanted a nice..experienced .relible yet creative midfield ready for every game ..

n abt modric....(was substituted against manc .god he looked soooo bad n unhappy....n sandro ..who the F IS HE? u have habit of overrating ur players too much)

Agree3 Disagree4

As a Liverpool fan i think your clutching at straws, granted Liverpool have only played
3 league games, and we are already 6 points
clear of Spurs, and you have to admit that
Liverpool are looking a lot better than they did last season, if you read through the majority of posts on this page i think
you will find a lot of negativity.and if Adam isnt a top 4 player why did your manager want him in January? when your
club was pushing for a champions league
spot, and keeping Modric could be one of the biggest mistakes your club has made

Deano95

Agree3 Disagree3

Is this the same 'tough' arsenal team that was ravaged by injuries and lost 8-2 at old trafford, i distinctly remember modric running rings round your midfield twice last season, and the second time 'the messiah' was in charge. if i was a liverpool fan i wouldn't be getting too excited i'd just pray suarez doesnt get injured as your lot hasnt scored a goal when he has been off the pitch since he arrived. granted gerrard and adam score a few 30 yarders but both give the ball away far too much (which i assure you is statistically true), granted henderson runs around a lot, hence, high stamina % whatever that is, but if you saw the euro under 21's youd have witnessed him being outclassed by players of superior technical ability. you lot will learn in time that you can only get so far with players that run around a lot kicking the ball hard. why do you think liverpool have gone so dramatically down hill since alonso left? your analysis is symptomatic of the failings of english football, ignore vision, creativity technique and get as many 'enthusiastic' players as possible to run around looking busy. it may work against sunderland (so poor against both newc, swans, brighton), bolton and a ten man arsenal youth team, but not against sides who retain possession. yes in the past liverpool won titles with good british pros but times have changed and in failing to realise that alonso was the axis of your team due to his technical ability we've finished above you two seasons running because of players like modric. sorry for the rant but its hard not to react to the uncultured neolithic ramblings of scousers who believe that a successful team consists of a manager who 'understands' what liverpool is about and a bunch of overpriced technically devoid blokes who run a lot.

Agree2 Disagree3

what a foolish analysis is this ?

suarez injured n all....in every team there is a player who is involved in everything...that doesn't mean...if hes not here team would struggle.....if that so what abt vdv? all ur goals r scored by him .? THERE R players around whom a team is constructed ....but WE HAVE A MANAGER N STAFF GOOD ENOUGH TO CHANGE THE TACTICS WHEN NEEDED (see how chevesky was beaten by us at bridge ? there was no suarez ...n same type of technically devoid blokes outsmarted chevesky n all there ur so called superior lampards n drogbas couldn't help but accept...we tactically beat them in their own den )

aresanal is raveged ?
they r not good enough thats y giving n excuse of injuries ...the team we played had nasri , RVP, arshewin , wallcott , ramsey ,vermeilan(spell?). their 1st chois keeper n also on bench ...bedner,chamakh n all ....HOW THE FOOK IS THIS SQUAD WEAKER ? MAY BE IS BUT is that our fault that wenger brought such lame ..mr glass players ....N POINT TO BE NOTED IT WAS OUR 1ST AWAY GAME...AT THEIR GROUND ...while for man utd it was home game minus nasri ...so stop that s**tt.

n sitting on ur keybord n typing any nonsense adam isnt good, henderson just runs n all is sooo stupid n hypocritical ....just coz they r not ur clubs player ?if that so then what abt lennon(mr. rabbit cant even cross to save his life)?sandro(who?)?modric(mr no goals)?

tequnical ability ? wel fool to win a match u need GOALS ..skill n ability is of no use if u cant convert then in goals(see arsenal) ....its a no problem for us if adam.hendo, downing GET OUTCLASSED , N ALL RUBBISH UR TALKING..IF THE PLAY REGULARLY N KEEP ON SCORING OR CONTRIBUTING IN GOAL...

Agree1 Disagree0

Wowww...modric running rings around our midfield? ohh ya i remember ..to get in europa league? ..well then thanks modric for ur support
by the way does ur MODER-DICK EVEN SCORES AT ALL? OR JUST KEEPS ON RUNNING RINGS?....

dont know on what besis does spus always keeps on humming ...running rings on liverpool twice ..beating us twice which happened ones in lifetime last year ?

wolves also did a double over u ..does that mean ur lower than wolves? only u know that ..

its have been major turn around since last year guys....wake upp.....harry-levy
typical mid table screwed u...accept that ....

Agree2 Disagree0

We diddnt want adam you fool. A'rry sent a car so that youll dont get him so since then kenny drives the cars himself.
Your manager is a bloddy chauffer lol {Ed001's Note - you are missing the point, Adam doesn't drive and he was made to feel wanted by the manager personally picking him up. The likes of Busby, Shankly, Nicholson and Clough all used those kind of personal touches to get their man. Ferguson did it to get Berbatov. It is called good management.}

now, at the risk of being shot down here, but I don't see why everyone is so down. sure it wasn't our best window ever, but it sure as hell wasn't the worst. I am astonished to see people moping about selling crouch, palacios, hutton et al, as it has been the most common gripe on here that we had to shift the dead wood. it wasn't just a case of having too many players that weren't good enough, it was a case of having too many players full stop, and reducing the wage bill like that i think is a major success. we couldn't bring in better replacements for every player we sold, becuase then we would have th same problem, only having spent more money. Other positives are that we have a striker capable of 30 goals in a season, at least for a season, before january/next summer arrivals, we have a leader in midfield, who won't give a toss if we concede but will stick the boot in to defoe and dawson if their not performing, we have some stone cold quality youth (coulibaly scored twice in a nextgen game against inter that we won 7-1) and, perhaps most controversially of all, I believe that we have one of the best chairmen in the league. he looks out for us in terms of modric, takes care of the money, and tries to keep a leash on redknapp, who, if he'd had his way, would probably have signed cole, bellamy and benayoun. In terms of who I want brought in, i think three players and the we can really compete. a strong cb, comfortable at left back in case BAE gets injured, like cahill/samba/tasci, a striker that is actually ours, damiao springs to mind in jan, and thirdly, cover and competition for lennon, as gio doesn't seem to fit english football, and lennons getting complacent.

we didnt invest money in anything new ..

his last min moves n all n all our guys were so much believed that some thing will happen r fools (like me)...with vdv it happened with luck n our champions league status last time...hoping such signing ...with our current position (0 points) is stupidity ...

guys say bye bye to champions league for at least TILL WE REPLACE this midtable mindset owner-manager

I'm confused by all the negativity surrounding this transfer window. Surely we have a better squad than last season! I'm not confident of 4th spot but there's always a chance. Fans who are critical of Levy & Redknapp need a reality check! our club is impeccably ran. I've even read some comments saying enough is enough and that after being a 'loyal supporter for 40 years' they're turning their backs on our great club. Anyone feeling that way isn't welcome at Spurs. The chant 'you only sing when your winning' was written for all of you fickle tossers who don't deserve to be fans of the mighty spurs. COYS

Levy got this wrong big style. This was his worst market ever.Let me through these at you.If Dawson is injured or suspended with only Kaboul and Bassong as the proper CH do we long strong? If Parker gets a bad injury in first few games who do we play.If Ade throws a Luka and says i don't want to play what then.If Luka is still not "well" who do we play.Levy has dropped us in it big time.He knew what chelsea were going to do because he does it all the time to other clubs so don't blame chelsea for doing a levy.If we are still in the bottom 6 at January that 30ml would have been very handy. As it now is we might have to buy a CH and they like any player in January will of course want to come to us for nothing. With the Arse a nil in trouble and chelsea not right now was the time to be strong and by quality players.I am so fed up with levy and all his sh8t.

On a brighter note, if we can get a good few games out of king and gallas we should b more than ok at CB, that's a big if tho! As far as our best side, VDV is on the bench, he's not a striker, nowhere near a centre midfielder and lacks pace to play wide. A luxury player for me. I'd go with:

Friedel
Walker king daws BAE
Lennon parker modric bale
Defoe adebayor

Rufus

Believable2 Unbelievable0

That lineup SERIOUSLY NO WAY NEAR A TOP 4 CLUB....OR A champions league club ..
now days even teams like sunderland, bolten have improved ....

fook off with the transfers man...only fear i have now that if we dont pull out something in jan ...seriously bale, vdv, modric would look around {Ed008's Note - I prefer Gomes.....

Dear Mr. Levy.

I have always stood up for you and he way you run are club. After all, we are financially sound and we are (probably) in a better state than when ENIC bought the club from (Lord) Alan Sugar. I will always support my team, but after the 3rd straight failed transfer window, I find myself asking myself if I will be as quick to back the clubs high level management in the future. You are making our club the laughing stock of the league with your double standards and lack of quality signings and "last minute desperate haggling - VDV luckily worked, but how many have we missed Charlie Adam and Gary Cahill come to mind. You sir are a class A hypocrite.

According to the "Levy School of Ethical Business" its ok to keep a player against his wishes and make him honour his contract (in the case of modric) But when it suits, it is also ok to force a player out against his wishes, who does not want to leave and wants to honour his contract (crouch). OK, Crouch was, is and always will be a useless lanky piece of s**t but thats another story for another time.

Also, I wish to ask on top of Sponserships, TV revenues, League prize money, Murchandise sales, Ticket Sales, Membership sales, Player sales, Loan fees, Food and Beverage profits and all the other usual sources of income - where has the £27million (ish) Champions League prize money gone? With the exception of only one transfer fee for Scott Parker, all the others are loans or free signings. You cannot expect us to qualify for the Champions League again anytime soon if this is the only fresh blood coming through the door.

I know that Harry Redknapp has taken us form relgation zone to where we are now and he must be praised for that and so do you for having the forsight appointing him in the first place. But if you are not going to financially back him to continue the improvement, then why wait for the FA's compensation when they come calling next summer? In my humble opinion, you should have replaced Harry this summer and backed his replacement to get us back into the champions league next year. Unless you already have his replacement lined up (as we regularly read) i am worried as to the calabre of manager who we could attrack if we fail to reach the promised land again as our top players will start to leave.

Fans of other clubs are going to have trophies to show for thier efforts next May. What about Tottenham fans ? Showing us a health profit and loss sheet wont cut it.

As you are well known to be a real Tottenham fan, I hope that you will not be like other Chairman who just look upon the supporters as another way of making money whilst ignoring their questions and fears. I am looking forward to your reply in the near future. I trust that I will not be disappointed ?? Time will tell.

Yours sincerly, A very worried

Absolutely disgusted with the club, we're supposed to be closing the gap and spend a paltry £6m all summer! Chelski, United, City, Liverpool and the Scum all spent in excess of £50m and we're supposed to compete with £6m? Even Wolves spent more than that! Seriously lost faith in both Harry and Levy, guess we'll just have to savour last years Champs League coz we won't be getting there again for a while! 6th will be a great result for us this season!

I don't think the team is going to be able to get in to the top 4, i mean we look a bit short up front and at the back :| for me they should of moved modric on for the 40 million we could have got some great players with that plus we got rid of all are deadwood so we would of been looking good for the top 4.

And cahill should of been a must ! i think we needed him more than parker don't get me wrong parker is a good player.

I have 1 season ticket for sale!! what a farce all this c*ap about signing quality, HR/DL need to go and very quick, have lost complete faith in both of their abilities to run a cub like spurs. very worrying season ahead, gonna concede goals galore with Daws and Kaboul at centre half and we ain't gonna score sh*t either. To all the so called rumour mongers out their, where are these massive signing? also fellow spurs fans don't get to excited about the January sales, no one of any quality will want to join a team in a relegation scrap. At this rate we will be lucky to finish in the 10. HR and DL out now. Please will someone with ambition buy arfe club and bring in a manager who knows what hes doing.

Whats happened ?? At least £22 mill in ? Nothing worth buying brought !! Arry and Levy should go now . We all know where the money is going , to try to win the olympic stadium and the lawyers there . Spurs have officially been brought down to the levels of the small time clubs , with their piss poor wages and transfer ambitions . how the hell did ruiz not come , what happened to Samba ?? All we have to look forward too is the galloping sausage Pav up front , ( should have been given away ) , and ferret face not really interested in the middle , and a winger who can run but cant cross , plus Levy and Arry standing up saying well we tried but they either didnt want to come or we just couldnt afford the wages . If you ask me , the owners just dont give a s**t about the club or the supporters otherwise there might have been some decent investment in the team , not in the lawyers pockets . Well heres hoping that their shares take an almighty slide , and it costs them as much as there lack of investment costs the loyal fans .
Come January , we might just be in the top ten , ( doubtful ) out of all three cups , with the possibility of losing VDV , Bale , Ferret face and any other decent player who wants to jump ship just because Levy wanted to prove a point . I know that once again I will get a lot of crap about this post , dont give a damn any more . I suppose like all other loyal supporters I will carry on buying my tickets , lining the pockets of the useless t***s in the boardroom , and sitting there at the weekend with my fingers crossed or tears running down my face . A prospect that I thought I wouldnt have to experience again for a while !!!!!

Well, trays the last time I read this site until December. Lose half our squad, buy friedel- conceded 8 in 2 games, parker- relegated 30 year old and adebayor - noone else would have him. Disappointed is an understatement. Thank-you levy and harry. At least crouch and jenas gone.

The problem is down to Harry's insistence on signing lots of players on very good wages, rather than a few players on very good wages and some squad players on lower pay.}

So what have Spurs fans and Luka Modric got in common? We've both been mugged off by Levy and HR promising big signings to show ambition and take a tilt at top 4 again but its turned out to be b*ll*cks. Not getting hysterical, Parker and Adebayor are decent PL players (although Adebayor isnt really ours and there is no chance of him staying any longer than a season when he sees the small team mentality Levy has) but we needed to to reinforce on a way bigger scale than this to stand any chance of regaining CL place and it hasnt happened . It hurts to admit it but we wont be breaking top 4 anytime soon.
